Pros We needed a platform to conduct testing for our members which would limit their ability to "cheat". It is easy to use and setup. Provides for easy grading/reporting after the exam as well. The next level has some great features but I do not need them. Pros The ease of use of ProProfs is unlike most LMS' I researched and is more cost efficient. Cons There is an option to changes the language but this only applies to the wording in the program, not the content of the quizzes. This would be a great help to convert everything as our company has three languages to deal with. Reason for choosing ProProfs Quiz Maker I looked at various other programs but this was in 2016 and I do not remember them, only remember that ProProfs is the option I chose to go with and have been very pleased with it. Trainer Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Switched Plan Without Informing Me" December 11, 2019 3.0 I started using ProProfs when they were fairly new, before they had all of the options they do now like classroom learning. I am FURIOUS at the fact that when they decided to implement amounts of learners one can have, THEY DID NOT INFORM ME. This was not what I signed up to purchase and would not have renewed my subscription had I known I had a max. I got this service for the quiz maker and at that time and unlimited "learners". I pay for this service with a grant and they do not refund if you've paid for a year. Their customer service is very poor. I have had to contact them numerous times in the past for problems on their end. If you are a non-profit there is a better program you can use at a MUCH cheaper rate just look it up. Pros Let me design custom quizzes and provide certificates. Cons WITHOUT TELLING ME, gave me a max number of "learners". Customer service is not great. It's far and above Google Forms, more versatile that ClassMarker. I have been a ProProfs user for over 13 years and have recommended it to teachers in multiple school districts. It's the best product of this kind that I have used. Pros As a teacher, I need ways to automate some of my most mundane tasks. Students also benefit when they receive immediate feedback on their work. ProProfs does both of these, and it does them well. I can produce an assessment in ProProfs in relatively little time (10 to 20 minutes), and that assignment can be ready to be linked to students immediately.When students take an exam or quiz on ProProfs, I can 'randomize' the questions, so every student sees the questions in a slightly different order. This helps stop cheating in the classroom! I can set the test so students cannot switch tabs on their browser while taking the test. I can produce 'banks' of questions with the Tags option and give each student a slightly different set of questions, so they are assessed on the same material without being able to share answers. Quizzes can be password protected or set so they become active or expire at a certain time. These options are excellent!ProProfs keeps updating their software and making it better each year. Up until recently, there were only two options for sharing scores with students - immediately sending them a score report upon taking the test, or not sending them a report at all. They recently changed this, so that I can click on a student's report (or a group of students) and send them a detailed score report at any time I wish. This improves test security and makes this software even better.I have used ProProfs since 2009, and I use it on a daily basis. Cons A few years ago, ProProfs implemented a 'Users' function. Some of the more common K-12 accounts limit teachers to 75 users, which is not nearly enough in a high school. I hope ProProfs increases teacher accounts to 150 users, which honestly is the minimum number of users that would be practical for a high school teacher like myself. Review Source DN Daniel N. All the features for the price point is very good. Often some minor programming glitches but easy to work around and tech support always helpful in working them out. Pros Super user friendly unlike some other programs. Easy to get up and running without much training. Cons Already put in request for more organization of quizzes. "Quiz" page shows ALL quizzes every made and no real archiving ability. Need to open to a folders page so you can quickly get to the the most important quizzes you need to work with instead of looking through a list of hundreds. Quiz maker and Survey maker have some glitchiness with formatting. Took some time on survey maker to resolve some of the issues but Tech support was able to . Tags - create a type ahead library so that I'm not writing the same tags time and again Picture Library, I use the same picture in many pieces of my work, why not create a library I can pic from after I've uploaded it. If a teacher makes a mistake, wants to change an answer, or give credit on a wrong assessment item it is virtually impossible to do this without having to change every single test taker manually. ProProfs meets all my expectations for ease of creating and administrating exams. Once everything is set up, ProProfs is great in that I give the students a link, and then ProProfs does the rest. Very convenient for me. Pros I use ProProfs as a modern replacement for old-fashioned paper exams. Once you get over the learning curve on how to set up an exam, it is easy enough to create the exams. And I like having a lot of options for the types of questions. And I also like being able to tailor the exam settings to meet my needs. Cons The number one complaint I hear from students is that ProProfs forces you to answer each question before moving on to the next question. Students like to go through the exam, answer all the questions they know, and then go back to answer the harder questions. They can mark a question for later review but they still have to answer.
