The elimination of phone support has significantly diminished its value. Pros CaseWare was the backbone of our audit software and used to be worth the cost, especially with its excellent customer and IT support. But they have since taken that away. Cons They have eliminated all phone support, which is extremely disappointing. Their responsive and knowledgeable IT support was a major reason we continued using CaseWare despite the fact that they are more expensive than several of their competitors. We recently spent nearly half a day trying to resolve a relatively minor IT issue that would have taken approximately 10 minutes to resolve with their previous phone support. At this point, paying a premium for CaseWare software without the level of IT support that justified the additional cost is no longer worthwhile for us. We will be looking at other software options. Take a minute to get the hang of it but very pleased with the software. Pros I love the functions of this software, helps me cut the time it takes to do my accounting processes in half. Makes my job much easier! Cons The functionality could be improved upon. Some features are hard to use and the software is subject to freezing and crashing. RE Reviewer Business Data Analyst Used the software for: 1-3 years ### "Not Intuitive and Poor Training" 3.0 Overall Rating 3.0 3.0 Ease of Use 1.0 1.0 Features 3.0 3.0 Customer Service 2.0 2.0 Likelihood to Recommend 5/10 August 4, 2020 We have been able to audit items that would not have been able to be done any other way and it has greatly improved our ability to complete certain tasks. Besides the need for training to use the software and the training available being horrible, it is a useful product. Pros It provides the ablility to compare two large data sets relatively easily. Cons I have been using and testing software for about 25 years and this is least intuitive software I have every seen. It is buggy to change connections or setup connections especially with ORACLE databases. We paid for users to be trained and the training was terrible. It was a waste of money to pay for employees to travel and sit in a training for a week and the teacher was horrible. It was a huge disappointment and no one at the company seemed to care. This instructor had a reputation of being terrible according to others in the class with our employees. I specially liked the interface, it allows the users to operate smoothly from the very beginning. Cons Some functionalities are missing compared to other high end softwares. Our firm has a template created that we use for nearly all of our business clients and it organizes what we do so well. Importing trial balances, adding adjusting entries, and adding other work papers is extremely simple. Cons Having to map accounts is very slow and tedious, but I'm not sure there is a way to change that. Also, at first, this software is really confusing, but if you take some time to learn it or have someone train you, then it's fine. It is just a little overwhelming when you first start.
