It has been giving me a great experience and has allowed me to get a habit of proper time utilization and management. Pros TimeCamp gives me the ability to analyze my daily routine which gives me important insights about how am spending my time which includes areas where am falling short of managing time. This gives me a start off in optimizing my performance and become more accountable. We also use it as team during projects to track our time usage and relating this with the budgeted time, we get to improve on our work by speeding up the lagging areas. Cons Up to this point, all has been going on well with TimeCamp and i have nothing that i have liked least about it. With TimeCamp we are capable to understand exactly which part of the project require more time so we can find a solution and also the saturation of the team so we can distribute workload in a fair basis. Pros I fist tried the trial version of this program which is long enough (30 days) and offers a very good overview of all the features of the tool and how much they can be useful (even when you have not consider them before!). Other similar tools are very restrictive with their features during this period. TimeCamp allows you to track the time spent on a project by an employee. It allows you to have multiple seats with different permissions and create multiple projects that can be divided in tasks. It is also possible to allocate just some of the team members to a project . It is not only possible to track projects but idle time and attendance. Reports are are very complete and have many options to filter and present the data you need. The Dashboard allows you to be updated very fast The tool is very user friendly and can be set up just in a few minutes. Cons I have tried the Desktop time tracker, which is a nice idea but you are not able to do many things from the widget so you will often have to come back to the website. It would be nice to have the possibility to switch projects or creates new ones directly from there. Accountant Design Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Company has disreputable billing practices " August 26, 2020 3.0 Well it was great until the billing issue noted above. Now I feel like they are disreputable. Pros Our staff like the ease of use of the product for time tracking. Cons Billing practices. Apparently they do not offer refunds. In the beginning we were paying monthly, but switched to annual billing. We realized when renewal came around that 1/2 our users were no longer using the software so we cancelled those users. However, when I contacted the company about a refund, they said they would hold the credit toward future subscriptions (but we are moving away from Timecamp so this is not helpful), but they do not offer refunds. So in other words, they are taking our money for something we aren't using. If we had stuck with monthly billing, this would not have been a problem. So word of warning - stick with monthly billing so you can cancel and avoid the issue we had. Overall a very easy and flexible tool to work with. Pros There are different ways to input your tracked time. You can register your tasks in real time or you can input it per day or week. This allows all of our employees the flexibility of tracking the way they want to. TimeCamp's UI is also very intuitive, which makes the tool very easy to use Cons At times TimeCamp can be a little buggy. I feel they might have some troubles with their servers sometimes. I created tasks organized in projects (areas) in order to assess my profitability on specific projects for my clients (but not invoiced based on time) to deduce an hourly rate, and to check time spent on other specific tasks such as accountancy, mails, etc. For not being a paid user, I need to compile collected data by hand, but I see the subscription plan lets you personalize the output, and communicates with 3rd party tools/apps which is great for integration with your workflow. Pros I doesn't pop up windows, its icon simply sits in the taskbar, it's very easy to use yet quite complete, it's web-based interface is also nice to use. Cons Feature requests, even simple ones, are slow to implement. The GitHub canal doesn't seem quite lively. It is easy to use and easy to find where your time is for billing. I have really been able to keep on top of my hours with the functionality of this program! I also like that it is web based so that I can use it out at a client's site and with a desktop feature for in-office work! Cons I have used other software that if you are away from your computer for a time, it prompts you by asking what you were doing. Cons Infrequently, but it has happened a few times that TimeCamp had an inability to track data in multiple browsers. Would also be great to be able to increase productivity range of levels from (-1 to +1) to (-2 to +2) to more clearly understand time spent on sites and or tasks that are sometimes productive, but sometimes distracting as well. August 8, 2021 5.0 TimeCamp is one of my most consistently used productivity tools. I've been using it for about 3 years now and I have never had a single issue with it. No glitches, no loss of data, nothing bad. I honestly would be very upset to lose TimeCamp if the company should ever go under or for some reason stops supporting it. As far as I am concerned it is the BEST time tracking app out there, and no one else comes anywhere close. Pros I love so many things about it: - ease of use - flexibility - attention to detail - ability to parse projects or tasks into even smaller items - probably the one feature I appreciate the most has saved me on numerous occasions. I have several times, even in this past year, mistakenly shut down my browser while TimeCamp was still running. The first time I accidentally did this, I was upset with myself because I thought I had lost my tracking data for the day. But when I opened the app again, not only was all my data still there, but the timer was still ticking away! Time tracking that works as hard as I do" October 27, 2016 5.0 While I'm working as a freelancer at the moment, I ran a creative agency for many years and managed multiple teams of both internal and remote employees. It was impossible to get an accurate view of how we were spending our time. As a result, our proposal process was always a bit off, billing was inconsistent, and forecasting was a nightmare. We tried most of the online and networked solutions, but they relied too heavily on the individuals manually entering their activity, correctly assigning work to clients and projects according to the structure we set up, and simply starting/stopping the tool. TimeCamp solves all of these problems with multiple layers of granularity and control, but it's still flexible! For the individuals who are already good at tracking their time, you can dial it down to accommodate their style. For those who need some extra help, the system can be fully automated to capture everything they do and even assign it to the right account based upon their activity and keywords. The thing I like most is the productivity reporting! I'm a pretty 'seasoned' professional, but it showed me A LOT about how I was using my time and where I get bogged down. Now I've started fixing the problems and improving my numbers. It's actually become a kind of fun game for me! On ease of use, I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because it is a little labor intensive to get things set up. If there are wrinkles in your timekeeping processes, you'll definitely find them. At the time, we were desperate for something to track time, but we found it quite difficult to use, and the interface was slow and clumsy. Pros It was pretty good at the time to track time spent on projects, but after realizing that the same task can be done in another product at a cheaper cost, we switched over in 2021 to another project. Cons It was a bit expensive for the money, but we were desperate, so we used this product for a few years while we searched for another product to replace it. Many of them have very good features, but I found that Timecamp had the best features that really matter for freelancers and other areas of use. One of the best things I like about Timecamp is the ability of the client widget to automatically switch between the clients that I work for, and accurately track how much time I spend on each of my clients' projects. Pros Accurate and automatic time tracking. Automatic switching/tracking of clients and project. Many useful reports. Widget shows which client/product you are currently working on Easily switch between automatic and manual time tracking. Invoicing Setup and forget - after it's setup, there's very little you need to do. Cons It would be nice to have a customer portal, where clients can log in and see invoices and time entries. This software provides us excellent opportunities to work on multiple projects with numerous options of reporting. It seems to be extremely easy for adding new users as well as projects. Most favorite feature of this software is its ability of analyzing budgets as well as giving us comparison of estimated budgets. Cons If I talk about cons, I would say while using this app on mobile device sometimes data get lost but this may be a broadband issue that occurs rarely. It was very easy to get started and we saw an immediate benefit once we started using it to manage our team of outside developers. TimeCamp also provided us with fairly extensive reporting, which allowed us to more easily analyze and present cost/benefit analysis for our projects. Pros TimeCamp was very intuitive and was easy to use right from the start with only a quick and basic review of their documentation. It supports several key 3rd-party integrations with applications such as Slack, GitHub, ZenDesk and Trello, which makes it quite easy to seamlessly manage your projects' progress as well as all associated human resources and their billable hours. TimeCamp allowed us to easily track all time and costs associated with our software development projects, which helped us to better manage our development teams and identify opportunities for reducing costs. They also offer a very basic free tier, so you can try things out before making a commitment. Cons Some functionality is overly manual, such as starting/stopping tracking on an existing task that is being worked on, but this is similar to most of the other time management apps. Using some of the more advanced features requires a fair amount of research and some basic technical understanding. Also, the mobile app version of the software is difficult to use. Use to collate time for invoicing. Previously used competitor until they messed up their interface in the last major update around Nov 2016 (what a backlash that has been for them!!) Pros Rich integrations. Reporting. Invoicing feature. The granularity of billing based on person, task, project. IOS app is nice. Cons Unreliable stopwatch!! TimeCamp needs to realise that this is a core feature that NEEDS TO WORK 99.9999% of the time, not 93% - it is no fun trying to correct the time sheet when you see grossly incorrect duration times. We've seen MANY instances where for example time for a task that totals 30 min over a 7 hr period will inexplicably become the full duration from the first start time to the last end time, ignoring all the breaks that have occurred. For comparison, other software very rarely lets us down in this regard. We've tried several different browsers but still, have intermittent issues. TimeCamp support has not been able to offer any solution for weeks. The invoice template should allow layout customisation so that users can match it closer to existing organisational letterheads.
