Its easy to reach the people I need and for the most part the response time is great. Pros From the beginning it was really easy to work with the company, they ask questions to better understand our needs without trying to push for products that we might not need; there was a lot of back and forth trying to understand our workflow so to offer the product that better suited our needs. they requested information to get our setup started in a way that was very easy to complete, they worked in conjunctions with the other vendors we used for our operations to find the best path for integration. the software itself it very complex and has many features however it's very easy to configure to meet your needs. there are many ways to get from point A to B so you can find your own preferred method. Cons Some of the features cannot be customized by the user, they require the company technical support since some changes could affect the background operation of the software. Also can't live without electronic filing. In today's medial practice electronic filing is a must if you want to get reimbursed from insurance companies. Cons When calling for support. I have been in the field for 30+ years and with the provided "help" function I have been able to learn the system easily. The best "help" function I have used. Pros This product is user friendly and easy to train new employees for the job duties they are going to perform. The pre-scrub of claims is very helpful letting us know what errors the claim may have and we can fix on the front end and send the claim out clean. Cons I am still familiarizing myself with the reports that are in the system. In some cases I may have to run more than 1 report to gather all the data we are looking for. Review Source Ravitej R. Pros Our Genetics Laboratory specializes in PGX & CGX testing required a robust billing system that could be implemented within less than sixty (60) days that was cost effective. The Premier Medic's system allows for simple explosion codes that enables us to properly bill many CPT codes per patient. Many of the systems that we reviewed were NOT designed for a Laboratory environment. The system was installed quickly and all training was performed remotely by knowledgeable ADS staff members. There is a wide variety of management reports and the system allows us to customize the reports with little or no IT experience. Cons Our lab opted for start fresh with building many of our existing databases. There was a slight learning curve with all the additional data fields that the system has. I use this software daily for both billing and scheduling. It is easy to navigate and user friendly. Cons The normal response time to help calls sometimes is extremely long. Also, so representatives are hard to understand which can take longer to fix issues. I will say that I have never had an issue not be fixed. So it is not all bad just lacking in some areas. From sales to implementation and training the program and the support staff has been amazing. I have used many billing programs over the 25 years I've been in this business and MedicsPremier is extremely user friendly, easy to use and extremely efficient for productive work flow! Cons I wish the statements / receipts I am able to print are more updated. They are very dated in appearance. However, they are easy to produce and understand by the client. Cons I would like to see account notes that pop up not be able to bypass unless corrected at time of check in. Also in the Reports I would like to see them simplified more. Reason for choosing Advanced Data Systems Their Rep didn't know their system well enough and couldn't walk me through a single patient encounter from start to finish. When we originally purchased Doc Assist to augment our existing Medix Elite- both from ADS-we were promised many features that were never able to be implemented. After over a year of being told by ADS that it was user error on our part, it was finally determined that the loss of functionality was due to the fact that we have Medix Elite, not Medix Premier- these features are never going to work with Medix Elite. Pros If the software were implemented, I would be able to answer. We have responded to all requests for information within one business day. Dates set by ADS pass with no communication from company. Constantly chasing down our implementation specialist Cons Integration 3 months overdue. Lack of response from implementation team. Absence of a test environment to begin training staff. As a billing company, I have had requests for specific reports that I have always been able to supply. My software company has always responded quickly to my needs, no matter how small the problem was. Most important, when my hardware crashed many years ago, my information was retrieved and I was up and running within hours. Cons I was over whelmed by the look of Medics Premier initially. It took days to get comfortable with looking at so much information on a screen. Pros What I love about this program is how user friendly it is, even a not so computer literate user can easy learn to use this program. Cons Some reports are do not provide us with what this particular practice needs, but I am aware that the programmers can customize it if we choose to. Cons There are times when I cannot find the right report, however, I am able to get help through my RCM team. Reason for choosing Advanced Data Systems The sales person was informative and always available for questions along with a system that is very user friendly. The software is very good, but I found the whole RCM package to be the best fit for us. We are able to quickly & efficiently perform tasks within the system in order to run our busy medical practice. MedicsPremier covers every aspect of office operation with ease. We are able to customize forms within the letter module to aid in patient care & daily tasks. We rarely have an issue but when necessary, support is readily available & expeditious. Cons We are very pleased with Premier & have used it for 20+ years. The only issue I can think of is, when making an appointment, if you open multiple screens, the demographics may not save. The previous business \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] started using Medics in the 1990's. It's solid software for practice management, patient scheduling, EHR, insurance billing, RIS workflow, and report transcription. New products and features are continually developed to enhance the product. Tech support is knowledgeable and responsive. Integrating with a 3rd party PACS has been smooth. Cons Medics software needs to installed on each user's computer. I wish there was a web based version of Medics which doesn't require client software to be installed.
