Good comprehensive feature set. Great telephone tech support. Pros We've been using Medics software since we took over this medical office in 2003. The previous business \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] started using Medics in the 1990's. It's solid software for practice management, patient scheduling, EHR, insurance billing, RIS workflow, and report transcription. New products and features are continually developed to enhance the product. Tech support is knowledgeable and responsive. Integrating with a 3rd party PACS has been smooth. Cons Medics software needs to installed on each user's computer. I wish there was a web based version of Medics which doesn't require client software to be installed. Pros The Patient Timeline is a very useful feature that chronologically shows items that have been entered into the patient's record. The Exit Plan feature is my favorite. It shows the impression and plan for the last several encounters at the click of a button. Cons Many of the initial bugs have been worked out for this relatively new software. However, some inconsistencies still need to be cleaned up, especially in the Home sScreen left side menu. There are many features that we utilize and many that we do not; it’s nice to know we have options though. Pros This software is user friendly and if we cannot figure something out, customer service responds quickly with a solution. Cons I would like to see some improvement on customizable forms. We have made some requests in the past for certain forms to be created. While Medics was able to create something we could work with, it wasn’t exactly the outcome we had in mind. Pros I love the ease of scheduling and sending out claims. Also the claims we receive this way being posted automatically makes my life much easier. Cons Secondary claims that need to be sent to insurances for some reason never go automatically. I am not sure what exactly I am doing wrong or if that is just how it is. Most times the claims post with no issues on occasion I have 2 insurances that do not like to post automatically. Pros I love that the confirm phone texts go out the day before the appointment. We have it set to go out at 11 am and shortly after that the confirms and cancellations start coming in. It allows us the time to reschedule patients and to put patients in that are waiting for appointments. Cons I definitely am not crazy about when calling for customer service and have to put in a ticket and wait for a call back. The wait time is too long. I also would like them to improve on printing a statement for a patient. I tell patients jokingly "just 9 easy steps to a receipt". Pros Using the workflow/worklist is an important part of us daily. It helps keep track of day to day patient flow. The transitioning from the old to the new went rather smoothly. Cons The remittance reports should be more detailed. I do find on several of the remittance advices I have to go to the actual insurance pull the EOB to get more detailed information as to why a patients claim was denied. I'm overall pleased with the product, and there haven't been lots of hidden costs. I have felt from the beginning that we're working with good and honest people, and nothing I've seen makes me think otherwise. Pros The sales team did a great job understanding and explaining the product--didn't oversell or undersell features. We were delivered what was promised. Implementation was a steady process and their team was consistently available and responsive all the way through. Online interface has been stable since implementation--very little downtime or system lag for an online platform. Staff are responsive to needs and are willing and able to customize to a high level. We're a small agency and felt treated as if we were a large one. Cons There is a separation in staff responsible for the back-end billing functions and the front end electronic record entry. The software communicates fine between the two sides, but the staff seemed to not always understand how the two worked together. It made for a much more disjointed onboarding process and does result in some ongoing difficulties that seem like they shouldn't be as challenging as they are. Would be helpful if staff were crosstrained on both sides to help agencies better understand the challenges. Review Source BF Bob F. March 8, 2021 5.0 The ability to schedule for multiple sites and track the same patient no matter which site they go to. It also saves time on reporting back to referring physicians. The reports auto-send which saves time and energy for staff to do other things. Pros This is the best (by far) software to compliment your imaging center. From scheduling a patient to preparing reports for volume and keeping track of referrals. It does it all. Cons We really haven't any negative feedback from staff. There is not much to dislike!
