I don't like the feeling of being spied on. Pros The software provides insight into how much time is being logged. I guess that is a good thing. Makes it easier to know when to shut down. Cons When set up by a company, it tracks too much and feels invasive. June 27, 2018 3.0 It helps to keep you and others informed of how much time you spend in different tasks and software. It also provides graphic evidence of it, very useful for employers that work with freelancers that are paid by the hour. Pros It helps to keep track of all the software and activities you perform on the computer, it also take screenshots of the screen so you have graphic evidence of those activities in case you need them as proof. If you own the licensed version you can also edit the time manually to log some special activities out of the computer. Cons Sometimes if there is no input in about 10 minutes the system thinks you are away and pauses itself makeing you enter a not working time, you can edit that time though. Pros It's a program that has known how to control my impulses to procrastinate. It calls my attention after a few minutes of entering pages not allowed for my productivity schedule. In addition, it keeps a photographic record and schedule of my performance and that of all the employees of the company where I worked. Cons It's a pretty stressful program because it doesn't allow you to do other things to clear your mind while it's running. It keeps a very detailed record of productivity and pages visited, so to a certain extent, I think it's an invasion of employee privacy by a company's management and human resources. It's fairly simple to use, accurate, and fulfills my needs. Pros What I like most about Time Doctor is that it allows me to easily and accurately record the amount of time I'm working on a certain project or task. It allows me to show my clients how much time I was working on and how long each task took. I like that it also gives me a warning when I veer to a less-than productive site. Cons Don't really have any complaints. The only thing that I would like to be better handled is the dashboard where time is viewed. The issue I have is that I'm occasionally responsible for reviewing subordinate work flows and I feel that it's somewhat difficult to view their profiles as easy it is for myself. Pros It saves past task and see how many hours or minutes that you have consumed in every task. It still continues to count time even though there was a power down. Cons It takes time to open on your computer and in a short time that you are not using your keyboard it suddenly shows inactivity. Lead Developer Information Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great tool with minor issues." January 18, 2017 5.0 Last year TimeDoctor has an issue which is not going to be fixed. The counter is being looped over certain time, and thus the time is being lost. The issues happens 1-2 times per month and usually it can be caught. The bug is clearly seen when you compare your web $ app usage report per day with your timesheet. The problem is that I have reported them several about this issue, sent them my cache files several times too, and they did nothing about that. They did nothing about that for more than half of the year. Now I met the issue again, they have all the data in their servers (web&app usage report), but they once again ask me for my cache files. Like it is the first time they see the issue. Also note that their TimeDoctor Lite application consumes a lot of CPU time (20-30% of Core i5 4th gen), but you can install Pro version which is free. Otherwise the tool is great, easy to use, with a lot of detailed reports. Pros It has all required features, and UX is very good. Everything is clear from min 1. Cons They have bugs which are not going to be fixed. And their support never tells you that. Asks for your Cache files, more details etc., but not fixing the issue. Review Source RT Rohit T. Pros What I liked is how it captures the screenshots of the actual activity. With other ones we have used like Toggl it just tracks the time and doesnt show activity that way. Cons When I want to time a new activity and I type that activity and clickj play it will have a pop up that said this activity already exists. Which is silly, its like I know it exists thats why i selected it and wanted it to start recording. In an old version it would pull up the already existing activity. Now, I need to put it in the search bar to find the proper one. Why not have the search bar and new activity bar be the same, and if it is existing give me the options as oppose to just saying the task already exists where i then need to do an additional step to search for it or go scrolling through my list of all activities. CEO Computer Software Used the software for: 2+ years ### "No Updates and a Lot of Bugs" September 11, 2018 2.0 We have been working with TimeDoctor for 3 years, 40 employees use it. A large number of bugs that do not fix for years. The application is buggy - for the last year there have never been any updates. The site's admin area leaves much to be desired - a bunch of reports, but you can not use them. At us almost 600 projects - selectors on a site simply do not open. The API is very complex with a bunch of pitfalls. The new version of the application has not been updated for a year and a half and to the old version it is still far from functional. With pleasure would have switched to another service, but unfortunately for the functionality TimeDoctor suits, but for bugs and support - leaves much to be desired. Pros Good Service, but owners earn money and forget about there users.... Cons A lot of bugs that lasts for years... No Updates for the Desktop App, and iOS also. No new features for a long time... Cons After months of using a time tracker, our team realised that it is not working for us. Tracking time only puts pressure on people thus making them less creative. We sorted to fixed monthly rates. Quality of work is more important than hours tracked. August 23, 2021 5.0 I am only using time doctor as it is required by the company I work for but in terms of tracking attendance and project management it does the job well. Pros Its very easy to use and understand. My perspective is only from someone using it so I dont have much experience with it apart from using it to track my attendance and tasks but it seems to do the job.
