That said, the experience is very “no-frills.” It doesn’t feel particularly modern, and if you’re expecting deep customization, advanced analytics, or seamless integrations with a bunch of other platforms, it can start to feel a bit limited over time. ### "Great overall product for cost - some minor flukes"

Overall, I would recommend the product. There are totally free platforms out there, but the GPS could be a nice perk for remote workers or traveling workers. The issue that may arise is if you provide company devices or not, because employees can deny sharing data from personal devices.

Pros

The platform is generally straightforward. The updated home screen is nice as well. I like how you can filter to show more details or an overview of the day on the timecard page, and you can see a quick view of who is clocked in and not. The platform is definitely decent for its cost. We are only using the basic platform right now. I think the GPS is nice in theory but you cannot enforce it on personal devices without indivdiual permission. This is also even harder for work from home employees, because you would need all devices in the system if you want to block out alternate logins - then you also have the issue if they try to work some from a vacation or so. There is no way to allow alternates - you either block out clock ins from not approved devices or you have the setting to send the manager notices of unverified IP addresses. During our time looking around at possible timesheet platforms, customer service was extremley prompt, knowledgable, and willing to help!

Cons

I do feel like another GPS alternate should be provided like an option for the alert to go to the manager and approve or disapprove the unverified IP address. There also seems to be a glitch when someone is an employee that needs to clock in and has a manager role or another alternate role. The system seems to think you have two accounts, and our accounts keep getting locked for editing purposes. Now we are still able to clock in and out, which is the most important thing. However, I cannot edit within the employee information when this happens unless a password resent link is sent to the patient, which means I have to wait on the employee - I have mostly given up when this has happened a few times, because it is not worth the extra time.

It’s the kind of tool that doesn’t try to impress you—it just quietly does its job. Time tracking was reliable, employees picked it up quickly, and as a manager I didn’t spend much time troubleshooting or explaining things. That alone is a win. Not the most flexible or modern system, but a solid choice if you want accurate hours without complexity or extra fluff.

Pros

Super simple clock-in/clock-out – employees don’t need much training at all. Open the app, tap once, done. Overall, it felt very practical: not flashy, just thoughtfully designed to remove everyday time-tracking pain.

Cons

Editing punches can be clunky for managers—too many clicks for something that’s actually pretty common. So yeah—OnTheClock is solid and dependable, but it’s more “gets the job done” than “wow, this is elegant.” Perfect for straightforward time tracking, less so if your workforce rules are complicated or fast-growing.

Our overall experience has been excellent. To narrow it down to one word, excellence in the platform's functionality and excellence in customer service. Excellence in customer focus. Excellence in cost to value. Excellence in delivering on what their customers want and need.

Pros

On the clock has the best customer support and help available. Making sure any issues are quickly resolved so they do not repeat. The platform is well-designed and easy to navigate without taking much time to learn. Our employees of all computer skill levels find it easy to use and have no problem navigating what they need to do. What you get for what you pay is significantly better priced than their competitors. It is secure and you can assign rolls as needed with permissions that match that role. It is one of the best time tracking platforms availible, and we have been using it for several years. We have not used the payroll function because we have an in-house system. Otherwise, we would use their payroll since it looks easy to use and navigate, just like the time clock.

Cons

There isn't much to not like about On The Clock; the only thing I can think of is that the PTO could be a little more automated for renewals.

We have been using this software for about 4 years or more. It has worked very well and helps us keep track of hours worked. The GPS functions are so important to us. I would recommend this software to any company, especially one that has staff out in the field each day.

Pros

It is a very easy to use software. Adding new employees is seamless and easy. The staff does not need to be "trained" on how to use this app because it is very straight forward. I also like that we can customize what day our week starts on. We utilize the GPS tracking. This is so helpful! Every employee has to have location on when clocking in and out. This way we can see that the employee is clocking in while at the office and clocking out at the correct client's home. New employees are sent an email and text invite so they can get into the app before they even start the first day! This is a big help! The software is extremely affordable which is huge for a small business like us. It helps make payroll seamless. It is nice that we can add notes to keep track of manual clock ins, and which manager was tasked to update this.

Cons

There have been a few times that the app will go down on the staff or it will not load so they are not able to clock out. This might be more of a cell service issue than the OnTheClock software.

On the clock is great, is a good Value for your money. It helped me so much with employee management. It also helps with pay and invoicing. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Pros

On the clock made completing payroll so much easier! Punching in and out is a breeze! If at any moment I needed customer support they were there.

Honestly, the only issue is the learning curve. But honestly that was a me issue. I just had to learn the new system

I set this up for a client with less than 10 employees. The app is easy to use and affordable for a small business.

Pros

This app is easy to use, doesn't have a ton of features that are confusing and not utilized. Customized reports are a nice feature.

Cons

The geocaching is not as precise as I would like it to be. Employees can easily turn off this feature and I wish they weren't able to do this.

Mostly positive, I just wish it was easier to make time adjustments, for the previous day. It is very accurate.

Pros

For the most part I like everything about OnTheClock. I appreciate the Weick reference tab of Whos In.

Cons

My only complaint is when an employee forgets to clock out at the end, it isn't very user friendly to get it clocked out on the correct day. I think it would be simpler if we could just enter the day instead of using that toggle for after midnight. It can be confusing, especially for people new to using the software.

My employee asked for this to be the tracking tool we use. I reviewed the functionality of it and was impressed with the many features, but still simple dashboard. I like that I can use it on the computer and the same functionality comes through in the app.

Pros

Simple organization of my team. Ability to see the geography of the employee logging in (my business requires different locations from time to time and this feature is a significant benefit). User Interface is easy to use.

Cons

Not a lot of cons. It is a simple tool that gets the job done, and has a lot of features that I need for my team. The pricing of $9 a month is not outrageous, but I'd take a discount for this if it existed. Not a lot of cons to list.

Haven’t had any issues so far, just sometimes it forgets my user id when I use the remember login but that may be my browser

Overall, my experience with OnTheClock has been very positive. As an employee, it makes it really simple to navigate not just a time clock and time sheet, but submit and review PTO/Sick Time.

Pros

I appreciate having an easy to navigate app available for us, as employees, to use as our "time clock". I also think it makes it easy to review my timesheets and approve payroll before it gets submitted.

Cons

I wish there were more a few more options available as an employee for visibility (that wasn't reliant on admin functionality), such as being able to see notes on the time card itself when we are reviewing to approve our timesheets.

It has been an overall good expereince using on the clock, its simple intiutive secure, and allows employee management by what ive seen

Pros

Its simple to use, doesnt have any issues, its easy to see how many hours you have, it has a nice color palet. and its very cheap

Cons

its very difficult to understand the week menu to see past weeks, the payrolll is not included for our tier which i consider pretty basic, we dont do payments or invoice neither
