I use it to "check out" a product for use like I would at a library and for that purpose, the app is very useful. Pros The feature I like best is are the scannable codes for checking out a product. It was fast and easy but also effective. I also like that I can look up the product I have checked out and find out additional information about the product. Cons I don't like that I seem to be able to look up other user's "checked out" items. This seems like a security issue. I wouldn't expect to see other people's library book check outs at a library. This was an issue for times when my business received a high volume of orders in one day because some numbers look alike and can be confusing. GoCodes has simplified everything by using QR technology. Pros GoCodes makes tracking inventory super easy by assigning a unique QR-code to each item. This helps my business particularly in making sure that we are not picking and shipping wrong items for our orders. Cons Overall, I am disappointed that the lowest priced plan includes only 200 allowed SKUs. If you want to go to the next package which allows for 500 SKUs, you’ll pay three times the monthly rate of the base plan. May 11, 2021 4.0 The set up takes a long time. It would be so nice if there was a way to duplicate some of the text from one product to the next. And our drivers have struggled to try to use this because when they check and item in or out we ask them to add a customer name and address if it isn't already there. Not sure how this could be made easier unless there was a way to sync to Jobber which is the software that we use for all of our clients. Pros It is helping us to track our inventory. The QR codes make this much easier for us. Cons That we can only upload one picture per product. We would prefer at least four pics per product so that we are able to see all features. Reason for choosing GoCodes GoCodes was the best that I could find for a balance of price and quality. Pros The product has been a real time saver for us. It makes it so easy to check out equipment for a event and track who is responsible for it. Being a non-profit we get audited every year. The ability to have an update inventory/asset report to turn over has saved us hours of work of tracking down equipment info. Cons The only we wished it did was have an automatic GPS tracking system. That way if equipment is left behind we could track it down. Our staff struggles with scanning it in at every location they attend. It is not however designed for large or global use cases according to experience with the trial. GoCodes takes a product approach and does not really customize their software too much. Pros Mobile app was easy to setup and use for basic operations, such as scanning, checking in and checking out assets. Also, even the trial version allowed for generating your own QR codes. Cons I tried out the trial version, which only supported very simple use cases. RFID, magnetic stripe, NFC or EMV chip were not supported. Also the user interface supported only global views, it was not possible to maintain several asset tables. Also batch management was not very intuitive or easy to implement in the trial version. API documentation was not very public, I did not really understand why endpoint documentation was not publicly available, as is the case with many other products. Pros I love the ease of use to set up and the support i received. I am the only IT person for my company and it was hard for me to stay focused on this project very long as more critical things were going on. The support team gave us a product package that fit my company and gave us some time to get testing it fully and we liked what we saw. October 26, 2016 4.0 We use this software for rental items, and while it only allows us to keep one picture, and does not yet provide notifications to admin on check-in and check-outs (assignments), it has helped the warehouses and customer service team IMMENSELY in communication about the items, and our customers find it hard to wiggle out of paying for lost items that are clearly scanned out to them and not returned. We use the mapping too, to see if an item is in one or the other warehouse. With the ability to scan tags and to add custom fields, Go Codes is a great value. Cons Being a school district we often have large quantities of equipment arriving at once. It's a little clumsy to maneuver while scanning large numbers of devices. I have a great vendor who sends me a list of serial numbers and inventory numbers so we can just add them without scanning. I would LOVE to be able to import all these but it can only be done by Go Codes doing it for a $$$. This is a major deal for me.
