The most difficult part with Adaptive is breaking away from the Excel based formulas that everyone is so used to nowadays and embracing the Formula structure built out in Adaptive. It takes some getting used to, but in the end makes it so that you can be far more confident that you do not have errors in your calculations. Using Adaptive regularly, you begin to really notice the power that you have at your hands and that the possibilities are limitless as long as you are willing to put forth the time to build it out. Having work with their training team, we have received excellent support and overall made our implementation much smoother than expected. It allows me to effectively plan for the upcoming year as well as communicate current trends that are happening in our business at a very granual level. I do wish Adaptive was a bit more robust to be able to look at more than just planning. I often have to build several reports in excel because there is not enough opportunity to look at additional items. Such as member data/profitability, heat mapping, and product profitability. It would also be nice if it linked daily data so executive members can look at reports with fresh data anytime they want without requesting it from the Finance Department. I believe Adaptive to be a perfect product for what it is, but I think it could be capable of so much more. Review Source IC Igor C. While it may automate most of the manual work, Adaptive has a quite a room for improvement and I am very hopeful they will continue to get better. Pros Adaptive Insights allows to effectively manage both actual data and budget data in one place. Interactive dashboard and data visualization provide real time metric. Another good feature is that it allows collaboration on projects across various departments of the company. Cons There were issues with foreign currency conversions that just shouldn't be there in this type of software. It also uses Java which sometimes gives inconsistent user experience (or just won't respond) depending on the browser used and the version of Java installed. Each time, our end users found the tool to be intuitive while increasing the accuracy of their forecasts and budgets while minimizing the time spent in completing the task at hand. Regardless of size, complexity or organizational structure, the application can be easily customized for any organization to produce a full set of financials. Coupled with dynamic reporting and visual analytics both with drill down capability in addition to the ability to quickly crank out various scenarios based upon key financial/operational metrics, Adaptive Insights is a must for any organization that has to produce forecasts. It ensures that latest data is available across networks, which remains secure and is easy to manage and generate reports. The main advantage is that it develops continuously on a large user base and the backend support is always on their toes to improve the functionality of the system to better suit the business it is set up for. The time required to set it up initially is totally worth it as it offers unparalleled performance later. Another advantage is that it is really easy to track changes and thus makes it a viable tool for audit purposes. It has the capability to connect to multiple data sources and generate front end user reports. Making changes in the system, later on, can be a little expensive so a proper analysis of the requirements initially is very important. Apart from that it is a must have software in your toolbox. I have never had this level of support from another company. There is great follow up and resolution to any questions or concerns. Cons It works better with Chrome or Firefox Browsers. We've been able to connect to multiple databases and bring all our data together under one house- which is huge for us. We're setting up driver-based forecast models, and the is great. Our forecast models were in Excel before, and they were getting to the point that they were becoming unsustainable with the growth we've been experiencing. Adaptive appears to be a great solution for creating scalability in our models. It allows multiple users to access their individual portions of the company's forecast and to make their own inputs. As we continue to learn more about how we can use this product, the work I do compiling data has been decreasing and the time I can spend actually analyzing the data increases! Cons I would like the reporting of this product to be more robust. It can take a long time to build a report the way you would like it to look and the options for formatting it quickly are limited. It is a great tool that is very flexible. Being able to build the financial model in a collaborative, team based manner instead of in numerous different excel models is a much better process. Positives include version comparison for easy variance analysis; Adaptive office connect is a very useful excel based reporting tool; Flexible system based planning and scenario analysis accelerates planning cycles and reduces data integrity issues Version protection is sometimes an issue especially if you have plan data that is linked to prior periods via formulas. Also on modeled sheets some components and formulas are not version specific, which would be beneficial. Perfect solution for planning, consolidations, reporting and analysis. Nobody else is even close to it. The administrator can set up different levels of security in order to protect the information, thus maintaining the confidentiality of data. It is definitely better than most of the other management software's available owing to its dynamic response to data and reporting capabilities. Pros 1\. Access to the sensitive information like employee salaries and the management criteria's are limited to authorized people. 2. Only needs an internet connection to access information on the system. 3. Minimal involvement of IT Department in setting up the system after the environment, so the system maintains the security of sensitive information. Cons 1\. There should be an improvement in the consolidation of data involving multiple currencies. 2. It takes some time to set up the environment as programming formulae have to be one by one and so it requires training at the initial level. 3. Used the software for: ### "Adaptive Streamlined Our Budget Process" May 24, 2016 5.0 We implemented Adaptive Planning two years ago to move our expense planning out of Excel and we haven't looked back. Trying to manage 100 + workbooks with different versions, broken links, and incorrect formulas became too challenging and time consuming. If you are moving away from planning in Excel the sheets look very similar to an Excel worksheet and this helps shorten the learning curve for the end users. Adaptive Planning has streamlined our planning and forecasting processes while giving us a fast and flexible reporting tool. Their customer service is one of the best I've ever worked with.They respond within hours, not days.They follow up to make sure you've gotten what you need.Their experts are truly that - they know their product and have many ways of solving your issues. The Discovery tool in Adaptive allows users to create professional looking charts, graphs, data, gauges, etc. in a Dashboard view to get real time access to the key information that they need. Discovery is a good looking way to share high level information with users while providing them the access to customize their own dashboard and drill down to more detailed information stored in Adaptive. Used the software for: ### "Adaptive Insights is a powerful tool to manage your business that remains easy to use" November 22, 2016 4.0 We evaluated many of the SaaS software options available before settling on Adaptive Insights (Host Analystics, Anaplan, Tidemark, etc). None of them matched the value, ease of use, and results of Adaptive. If you are looking to move away from spreadsheets and have one source for your financial data and reporting data, I highly suggest looking into Adaptive Planning. It has all the features you would expect in your financial tool and they are constantly upgrading and adding addiitonal features. Customer support has been excellent and they actually seem to care about their customers. Highly recommended!
