The best features: being able to move about the room while your students are working AND being monitored 24/7 on the computer the print out you can make of how long students spent on each website the information about how many times they viewed a website (IE left and came back) Blocking pages and apps you don't want them to use....awesome texting feedback to their screen And the support is GREAT Improvements to be made: time-stamping the views so you can place the order of the times they viewed their work

You know it is working well when the kids tell you it is "torture" now that we use it in class. When they try to do things they shouldn't you hear the audible groan from the masses.

\* It sometimes errors or drops and I can't get back on for a few minutes. \* You cannot mirror your screen onto their screens.

Dyknow is an ok app. It's nice to see what the students are looking at. What I don't like is that you can't see their whole screen including tabs. The lag time from seeing the whole class to clicking on a specific student is also a bit frustrating.

If and when your students click a new or different tab, this is always recorded in Activity Tracker and Analytics. DyKnow has been a Godsend as far as being able to make sure my students are on task in class. Customer service has been very responsive to any needs I had as I was getting comfortable with the features of the program too. Now that I have it I couldn't imagine class without it!

I use this in my classroom to keep my students on track with their assignments. Monitoring what they are doing while on their Chromebooks has changed how class is led and how often students are off-track. Being able to "turn off" certain websites during class is indispensable to keep my students progressing academically as they need to. I like being able to send them messages, either positive or asking them to get back on task individually. No other student need be interrupted with a conversation I am having with an individual student. It lets them know that I know what they are doing.

Pros

It works better than the average classroom management solution from a technical perspective and the students seemed to stay on track better when they knew what it did.

Cons

It does not always work as expected and we had some difficulties integrating it on our network. Pricing needs to be more competitive too because software like this is becoming more affordable.

I love using this program. We use a lot of digital media in our classroom and it allows me to monitor the students without walking around the room where students can quickly erase the content they are not supposed to be using.

I love using DyKnow in my classroom. My students know that I keep it up, it's not a gotcha kinda program. It allows me to keep them on task without pointing it out to the entire class. I can send them a personal message or block the site easily.

I do like the ease of use of the program and am excited for segmented blocking coming. The fact that students have to continuously log in is a very large negative and it causes students to not log in or ask to uninstall (and sometimes they do). If this was corrected, that would be very beneficial. Students also complain that it really takes a lot of battery use. It would also great if it was possible to have students type in an answer response rather than it simply being multiple choice.

I use DyKnow in my classes on most days. It is a wonderful tool to help me make sure my students are staying on task. It allows me to send personal messages to those that may need some attention. I can grade homework by asking the students to put their homework on their screen and I can check for completion. I also use it to see if any of my students are stuck on a particular item they might be working on. This is especially helpful for those students I know have a tendency to be shy and resist asking for help.

We have been DyKnow customers in my district for several years. We all loved the previous version of the product (full control of student devices on network). It allowed tech use when needed, minimized distractions otherwise. Last year, we transitioned to new version (web-based). While there has been a real transition period for this, many of us are starting to find the uses of this more limited service.

### "Good for monitoring"

DyKnow really helps a teacher take control of monitoring the digital classroom.

Pros

DyKnow is quick and easy to use. It allows the teacher to multitask while still monitoring students on Chromebooks, keeping them on task and accountable. Teachers can block activities and send messages to distracted students to refocus attention.

Cons

The software itself hasn't had any negatives, though being dependent on internet connection throughout our building can cause issues, as it is sometimes spotty.

There are lots of times that I can not get all of my students to show up. They keep finding loop holes that allow them to bypass dyknow. As an instructor I do not have the time to waste fixing a monitoring program.

If you have specific students who aren't showing up, you can always email support \[at\] dyknow \[dot\] com with the names of the students and dates/times of the issue and our team in Indianapolis will look into it right away!

The program works well most of the time, but it requires students to log in all the time, which is challenging and annoying. Otherwise, the other features are great. I wish there was less of a delay in looking at student's screens. The diagnostic tools are awesome.

This method is only used in the case where schools are unable to use our primary login method. We appreciate your continued use of DyKnow despite this extra step!

What the program does is very convenient and helpful in . However, blocking plans can be hard to customize, especially if you only need to target one or two students. It is possible, just not as user friendly as one would like. Also, when asking questions, you can't retrieve the results after the question is finished.

Pros - Internet based, can watch multiple students working and can later review their time on-task as well as the sites and applications that they visited during class time; almost immediate "chat" response from DYKnow staff to resolve issues. Cons - There's no ability to send a message to a particular student's screen to say things like, "do you need help?", or "looks like you need to read more carefully".

I've used DyKnow Cloud with great success this school year. Our students have iPads and I wanted to move towards online formal assessments, but I was worried about ensuring the integrity of the quiz or test. DyKnow Cloud has helped me do just that. Students login to DyKnow, and I can see what site they are on, they take the quiz or test, and they log off. It isn't a great product for every activity, but I don't think that DyKnow claims to be. It's great for short and specific activities.

DyKnow is great! I was hesitant to use technology in the classroom because I did not trust my students to stay on the correct websites when I wasn't looking. Now that I can easily monitor with DyKnow, we've been able to incorporate a lot more technology usage into our daily lessons - it's great!

Images are not in real time (15 second delay) so sometimes you block the wrong website - mostly user error though

Pros

Teachers can instantly access one student's screen or the whole class's. I can also block or restrict certain sites. This is especially awesome when we are doing an online quiz. No Googling for answers!

Cons

Not being able to block spotlight features (Ex: using the calculator through spotlight). Sometimes it lags and it makes it difficult to monitor. This is not the norm, however.

DyKnow has been a great management tool for my 1 to 1 classroom. I can control what I want my students to have access to online or what I don't want them to have access to. I have also appreciated being able to support my student's comprehension through instant feedback on key concepts. I would recommend DyKnow to any school that is looking to get a better handle on classroom management. Being able to better protect students from online "pitfalls" through enhanced supervision has been a blessing as well.

If I am monitoring a class, even if I don't employ a monitoring plan, I can still go back and see what little Johnny was doing today, yesterday or last week. If the students know they are being monitored, they tend not to even attempt to get to forbidden sites. They get into the habit of staying on task. If students are working independently, I can monitor their progress without having to walk around the class if I so choose. I really like having this program!

Dyknow has changed teaching with computers. Before Dyknow, your time was spent trying to peer over the shoulder of every student to see if they were on the right sites. Now, I know what all of my students are doing. I create blocking plans with my big projects that I turn on with a single click of a button. I send messages to all of my students at once and know we are all on the same page. I would never want to go back to teaching in a one to one school without Dyknow!

Dyknow has been a great tool in the classroom. Prior do dyknow, my students were constantly on websites they are not supposed to be on. With Dyknow, I can easily keep my students on task and completing their assignments online. With tools like "Allow Only", it makes my job as a teacher easier. Especially when I know my students are on correct digital contents, instead of browsing the web and getting distracted.

It is very helpful that I can enforce different blocking plans for each of my classes, which helps keep students on task. We all know the temptations of social media and the Internet for middle school students, which can take time away from assigned tasks. Additionally, DyKnow allows me more time for instruction due to less time having to monitor students' website selections.
