Customer service was not great. The interface was nice but didn't out weight the cons. Pros was a great resource for creating engaging emails. The creative tools for making emails were very easy to use. Creating powerful engaging emails was very quick and the end result was exactly what I was looking for on the creation side of the platform. Cons So unfortunately I was unable to continue using . The cost involved is pretty competitive but still very expensive. I came into some problems with a few of my emails and the customer service was underwhelming. They made things very challenging. I missed a few planned emails with specific deadlines due to not being made aware of the problems going on. Unacceptable. So I switched. Alternatives considered [Mailchimp](https://www.capterra.com/p/110228/MailChimp/) Reason for choosing Mailjet was cheaper than Mailchimp and that was the primary reason I chose Mailjet. You can create, edit, manage, schedule and optimize with ease. Pros I like how easy it is to learn how to use . In just a few short hours, I felt like I was a pro at navigating the platform as well as creating and updating new emails to send to my contact lists. If you've worked with website or email platforms before, Mailjet will be a breeze for you to learn. Cons We have run into some issues with the size of our email lists and high bounce rates and then we are unable to send as many emails as we need. But, after troubleshooting and contacting support, those issues were easy to fix and we were back to regular email marketing for our clients. We send emails to new email lists all the time, so it's best for our delivery rates if we send emails to new lists at the same time as lists we've sent to before. Sometimes, the email editor feels a little clunky, and I have to make font, color or other style changes a certain way to make them exactly how I want. But in the end, I'm always able to create a solid email that delivers well and gives me easy-to-understand metrics after delivery. Review Source Liam K. Pros The overall design of the platform as well as the email builder is one of the best i've seen. It makes it possible for even novice users to design templates and send email campaigns. Cons Price is a bit high compared to some open source and self hosted options like OemPro but for a SASS product its still pretty good. Big mistake in signing up, won't ever go back, even if they offered a free top tier account. Pros The price - it was the most competitive on price Cons Everything else. There is a reason it's the cheapest. The platform looks like it was developed in the early 2000's, and functions as such. It's extremely click heavy. And major functionality has not worked for over a month with no ETA in sight for a fix. Support took many days to reply, despite promising a response within 24 hours. When asked about a refund so I could go elsewhere once the issue was determined to be on their end and had no fix in sight, they offered a joke of an amount. DO NOT RECOMMEND Reason for choosing Mailjet Price - I'm a startup company and every dollar counts. Hands-down the best way to roll out anything from an MVP email for testing to a full-fledged transactional messaging system. The close integration of the Builder with the Send API to dynamically populate the messages is AWESOME! Separating code and design is definitely a goal that this can help you achieve. I love being able to send through SMTP. It's a huge plus for managed WordPress hosting environments where it's impractical to run a mail server. I also really appreciate the Mail Parse API, which allows me to focus on processing inbound emails via webhook and JSON -- no messy content or attachment handling. The freemium setup, as of early 2019, is sufficient to run small operations for $0, and then the entry-level paid plan is such a good value after you outgrow the free level. I recommend Mailjet to all my clients who need mail sending or receipt/processing. My client's emails that resulted from visitors filling a form (a transaction, I would say) were blocked based on content filters and the support team didn't have a really good answer as to why, other than quoting their policy that the service is for sending bulk or transactional messages only. Pros offers more free emails than its closes competitor Mailgun. Mailgun has its own perks but if you want more emails per month go for Mailjet. 200 per day vs 1000+ a month for Mailgun. Mailjet wins when it comes to marketing emails. Cons Can't easily add/remove members in a mailing list. No DKIM off the bat. What's great is that it shows the email subject and status so you can show what was sent, when and when it was delivered. The hooks are ok Cons Very manual process to get someone unblocked and can be slow. If they are blocked, you still get charged for the email. The email doesn't get queued, so it's lost... We've also had a problem with our server config so that it sent thousands of email requests to an email address that didn't exist (the mx record didn't even exist!!). We didn't receive an alert of this and got charged hundreds of pounds. We note that with SendGrid we can just click a button to unblock someone. Saves so much time and makes our clients happy. All my emails are transactional emails. Everything was pretty good. For the second month, I upgraded my account to a paid tier ($16/month) because I anticipated higher email volume. Everything was still good. After the second month, I downgraded my account back to the free tier due to lower email volume. This was when everything went unstable. Emails were missing delivery randomly. Some emails were delayed quite a bit. Sometimes the API only responded to repeated requests. This instability was correlated to downgrading my account. My plan was upgrading and downgrading my account based on my needs. Apparently this pushed their wrong button. I contacted them twice, once through email, once through feedback link. No response. Below was my exact message to them. Mailjet, don't bother to ask me to contact you to work anything out. I tried, I gave up and moved to another provider. I am happy now. "I adjusted my account based on expected email volume. The downgrade was due to the expected volume in the near future. When volume goes up, I will upgrade again. HOWEVER, since the downgrade, I noticed marked degradation in performance. Some emails didn't get sent, sometimes the API was not responsive. I didn't see that before the downgrade. When you upgrade to the essential package, you get up to 50k emails and features like segmentation and email verification for $35/month (10% discount annually.) It's a good value for money if that's what you're looking for. Cons Free tier doesn't give you enough features to try to determine if this is the right email marketing service for you. We had an issue in the time before we used when someone mis-used our SaaS by hijacking our invitation flow to send spam. MailJet would have prevented this, as they monitor any undeliverable emails and automatically blocks send-outs. Also, the MailJet free tier is veery generous. Pros I've used both SendGrid and MailChimp in the past, but I have to say nails both email drip campaigns and SaaS email send-outs (like Sign-up, Forgot password) magnificently. This allows us to run our SaaS application using MailJet, and automatically handle drip campaigns for Patch updates and Newsletter without using CSVs to move subscription lists between systems.
