This software has made my life so much easier. I love that I can schedule my patients, send reminder text, process payments with ease and helps with insurance claims.

Pros

I love the ease of scheduling and payment processing. having all the information for each patient saved is a plus for.

Cons

Some things like adding a group or editing a group member can be confusing , sometimes I have to recreate the group to access it again.

### "Overall good but clunky"

Pros

Nice looking/visual and modern. Once you figure out the different doors to use to make something happen it's easy enough.

Cons

Too many backdoors and open doors to do the same thing, which is confusing. Makes it clunky. I'd prefer you force certain actions in one way and out one way, rather than several. Like the notes function, scheduling, payments, for mental health platform.

Mostly positive. Fairly good and quick tech support.

Pros

This is one of the more intuitive platforms of its type. I found learning how to use it easier than several others I’d tried.

Cons

Some features aren’t logical to me (ie. Under “clients” you would expect to find every feature related to clients, but they are not all there).

the color green is about all i liked. the rest of it is awful

Cons

they stole our money. they blame a third party that they choose and put absolutely no effort and extremely poor customer service to resolve this issue

I love this software. It is easy to use, it keeps me compliant with what the industry requires, and it is a one-stop product for handling my business.

Pros

This is a user friendly platform to use with all aspects of client care from clinical to financial. The telehealth addition is user friendly on both ends. Customer service is excellent.

Cons

There have been improvements to all the areas that I thought should be improved. Most were done prior to me even thinking that there was a problem.

Reason for choosing TheraNest

I used Therapy Notes and did not like it. I did not like the pricing on Simple Practice. Theranest had the best of both worlds and more.

I weighed options on a LOT of EMRs and did free trials on a number of them. They all have their shortcomings so you have to decide what you are willing to live without. Things I love about theranest: First of all, their customer service is TOP NOTCH. I swear I am on a first name basis with all of them. They are very easy to reach via email/instant message within theranest. Secondly, the ability to link insurance claims, EOBs and accept credit cards within theranest reduce our work time substantially. The EMR is also incredibly affordable for a group practice. When I was first researching options, I was astounded at how much they charged per month, per therapist. Theranest charges a flat rate depending on how many clients you have. You can have unlimited therapists which is perfect for our practice. Their email and text reminders are a life saver and you can edit them both to say what you like (we updated ours in Spanish as well). Downsides are few and like I said, you have to be willing to give up a few things. It's overwhelming to set up the insurance connections to be able to file electronically. But, after you do it once, you are good to go. I wish Theranest would email the therapist when a client electronically cancels their appointment so we have the opportunity to fill it asap, but it doesn't as of now. It does sync with google calendar but you cannot add things onto google calendar and have them show up on theranest- it only syncs one way. The biggest downside overall is the inability to use it on a phone or tablet. Even on a large tablet, it is difficult to navigate unless you have a mouse. I wish there was a better mobile format or an app for it so we could schedule appointments on the go. Having said all that, I highly recommend theranest and don't anticipate switching to any other service for the foreseeable future. Once you get to know the system, it is very simple and easy to use.

### "Worst Customer Service"

Pros

Sometimes user friendly. Knowledge guide can be helpful.

Cons

Theranest had great customer service approximately 6 months ago. Suddenly, they are almost entirely unresponsive. I have called every other day for a week and cannot get anyone to answer the phone. You leave messages because calls go unanswered. Messages are not returned. They tell you to leave a message on their chat feature on the website, but this also goes unanswered.

Theranest has given me the invaluable gift of TIME!!! I have always don't my own insurance billing what used to take me hours and hours and stress me out. Theranest is so user friendly that it's even kind of fun. LOL!

Pros

I love the ease and flexibility of Theranest and how it seems to think of everything. I especially appreciate Telehealth, Client Portal, and Appointment Reminders. These options have saved me so much time. Additionally, the billing and reports are very user friendly and make is much easier to track and reconcile my cashflow.

Cons

It would be helpful to set Telehealth appointments as reoccurring and to create an invoice from the calendar tab rather than the agenda tab for those of us who bill once a week.

Pros

I like that I can schedule and keep my clients and their cases and notes all in one place. This is VERY helpful.

Cons

It really needs to be able to schedule in 15 minute increments. If it did then I could use it for my scheduling rather than my phone. I need a 15 minute break between clients to get in my notes from the previous client and get ready for my next client. The software cant do that without use of an outside scheduling system. For me this is the one drawback of this program. It is such an important one though.

### "What a waste of my time and money"

Very poor impression with these sales calls and emails.

Pros

They refunded me fairly quickly when they realized that they had misled me about the features of the software

Cons

I was told that it could do things that it just simply cannot do so I canceled my account in the setup phase. About a year later I start getting emails and calls about their billing program. WOW - you may want to keep a list of people who did not stay and not harass them again and again and again.

I only use its calendar and agenda. Google Hangouts has proven to be a friendlier, more efficient option.

Pros

Covers many clinical features required for day to day use.

Cons

Does not allow to schedule repeated appointments. Does not accept clinical templets or forms as designed by the user. A two pages form is converted into a 12 pages erratic questionnaire.

Ability to use credit card services, provide quick receipts with codes to clients, keep good notes on who has paid, and who owes money, good documentation, and and thorough reports.

Pros

The ease of use, credit card services, and great customer care. I have a dietitian and therapy practice, and via using custom forms, I can run both practices through this software.

Cons

Honestly this is a great product, I can not think of anything that I do not like. I love also that they are constantly improving, and looking add more features

Getting the billing side of the software was hard to do at first because did not understand the process.

Pros

Ease of use with documentation. It prefills for treatment goals.

Cons

After charging me an insanely high fee for managed billing, they refused to refund the deposit after I canceled the service with no services yet provided. The sales person told me the service would work for me even though I would be doing double the work since my billing platform and appointment scheduling is through a different provider. So paying double and doing double the work is what she thinks should work for me! She was very unprofessional and rude and her supervisor never contacted me to resolve the situation. I’m switching to SimplePractice after 4 years with TheraNest. I’m in a helping profession and wasn’t expecting to be treated so poorly and dismissed after being a loyal customer.

I do not like the way I have to go to edit insurance in order to copy an insurance member number before I can enter it into a claim check on another site. Sometimes billing clichés. Sometimes I get kicked off the site.

Hello, I am a licensed professional counselor in private practice. I have used Theranest for 3 years now and plan on using this application in the future. It is very affordable and user- friendly. My favorite feature of Theranest of the customer support. Every time I have a problem or a question, all I have to do is send a quick note from the icon at the bottom of the screen and someone gets back to me asap.

The mobile app needs work.

Theranest gets me more time with my CTs and then time with my family at the end of the day. Both are priceless. It is also great not to be bound to paper files. YES!

Pros

I love that they are always striving to make the software the best it can be. Innovative and user friendly, Theranest is a fantastic tool for my practice. I love the customer support and the assistance they have provided me when necessary. I have felt as if their goals have been to make my life easier.

Cons

Nothing is perfect, what I would like to see would be more individual customization. I have made a few suggestions from time to time and I know that cant do it all, I do understand that they hear me out and respond accordingly.

### "Terrible Bugs and Misrepresentation of Software"

It's been a HUGE headache. They consistently overpromise and underdeliver.

Pros

It has so many bugs that it is hard to find much to like other than the cost. I do like that it is priced by client rather than by therapist.

Cons

SO MANY bugs that make working with the software on a day to day basis very difficult. Managed billing was TERRIBLE. They caused our practice to have 30k in outstanding claims in 2 months. NOTHING was paid. And then when I asked to discontinue the service, they stopped responding. We took over billing and they charged us over $600 in one month for work that WE DID.
