So happy I found them. Right when my business picked up, I tried all of the other options and kept coming back to TheraNest. Pricing is fantastic!

Pros

The intuitive pieces! It's like driving a Volvo. It is so easy to use (and to learn to use) that I canfocus on the work I need to do. I am a solo shop & I get incredible customer service. It's a lifesaver. Even better than that? They are really great people on the other end. They ask for help in approvements & update us every month with new changes.

Cons

I really need a "couples" template. They are working on it!

Theranest was a safe and secure program to use at a small practice on a college campus. The regulations for information safety were of the highest standard, and Theranest met them.

Pros

It was easy to use when transferring a small practice from paper, to EMR.

Cons

There was not an easy to use form filler for clients.

Excellent, I love how well-rounded the system is.

Pros

It is extremely user friendly, has multiple ways of learning how to navigate around the site, and the support system is incredible. I do not consider myself a techy and did try another service but I let it go as it was so cumbersome. This one makes it very easy to input your data.

Cons

Up to now, I really can't say I have found anything negative. Yesterday I sent a chat message about a rejected claim, sent the reason why, and within a few hours, it was cleared....so you see, nothing negative to write about.

Pros

All of the services are à la carte so you can pick and choose and only pay for what you need. There is a report options for group practices that allows you to account for payroll. You can pay annually to receive 2 free months.

Cons

The "free" trial is a watered-down version and you are not able to use 100% of the product unless you subscribe, which, when you do, ends the free trial. So, during your trial period, unless you subscribe, you can't kick the tires and get a feel for whether their solution will really work for your practice. When entering information about the organization and providers, and clients and insurance, you have to jump back and forth. The overall flow could be better organized. The mobile app is archaic and only handles scheduling and notes.

I enjoyed the benefits of the mobile app, and also simplicity of treatment planning when you add on the Wiley Treatment planning feature.

Pros

I like the mobile app that enabled me to make changes to my schedule straight from my phone.

Cons

It is a little pricier than other EHR's, and some features are a little complicated to learn to use.

Pros

I am just as impressed with the staff at theranest as I am with the software. Your pride & confidence in the software shows.

Cons

Not having a "One Stop Covers All" Report. I would like to be able to pull all data when it comes to billing on clients. Complicated request, I understand. But with the option of downloading stats into an excel format, I could choose the needed data for my reports easily enough. Which would speed up the process for me. Whether it be an individual client or all clients.

Cons

I do not like that you can’t alter the portal questions when someone logs on. I am a SLP who works with kids and I would like to delete some of the questions as they are not pertinent to my business or children.

Customer service provides answers that do not address the problem presented. They do not make an effort to understand the problem before providing their "answer." Secondary claims submission is a nightmare on this system. There is no way to search by claim number, making claim numbers completely useless and everything must be done by hand. The system has many "bugs," that they do not attempt to fix, for example, notes are not showing up in the queue to be approved. When we chat this to customer service, they give us an answer that has nothing to do with the problem. Re-submissions to Medicaid must all be done by hand using paper claims because Theranest does not have a way to indicate to the insurance provider that it is a re-submission and not a duplicate claim. There is no way to pull up necessary reports. There are reports that can be pulled, but none that have been helpful to us. That being said, there are some positive qualities of the system. The note formatting is nice, the autosave feature is nice. The "cases," system works well once you get used to it. The direct submission to the clearinghouse is nice, except that you then need to make sure that claims are going through the clearinghouse because Office Ally likes to hold claims even though the insurance company says that the claim should go through. One of the customer rep seems to know what he's talking about and does make attempts to understand the problem even though his answers once he does understand the problem are usually just that the software cannot solve it and he will tell the team about the request. I like the idea of the Chat support button, and if customer service took the time to try to understand the issue being presented, it would be a nice feature and not so frustrating and time consuming to use.

Theranest has helped increase our efficiency as a practice, as well as our professionalism with clients. Additionally it gives us the platform to grow as a practice over time and not have to worry about changing platforms.

Pros

I decided to try Theranest in hopes of making our current daily operations more efficient and give us the ability to grow over time. The client portal and therapist/admin platform is very easy to use, the user videos are super helpful, and the customer support is fast and informative.

Cons

I would like a little more ability to customize forms etc. specific to our practice, as well as more capability for app use. The app is the least user friendly feature of the software.

I am asking my assistant, Marvie, to complete one of these as well, as she is the primary user. A couple of points : 1- can it be set so as not to have to re-login after periods of non-use? or at least set the time for that? 2. I would like the ability to use different colored fonts, underlining, bold in the Contact Log, 3. would like the ability to just click on the appt time and get right to the preferred record keeping mode- in my case that would be the "contact note" - i prefer that one because it is the simplest / cleanest template.. 3- I d like to be able to leave the heading off the contact note, or at least put it at the end -- this part: "Date:02/15/2016 05:22 PM. Created by:Dr. Dan Griffin, Licensed Clinical Psychologist. " - so you get the first line of the note in the screen when looking at several notes before you open one. 4.- is / could it be possible to customize contact notes so it maintains a template

This is to increase security on your end if you forget to log out when leaving your desk. As of right now, the Contact Notes are not customizable. ### "Very positive experience"

We started using TheraNest 6-9 months ago and it has been a very positive change for our group practice. We wanted a software that didn't require us to use the clinical notes, so we only use it for scheduling and billing clients. Our practice has 9 people and things get complex, and TheraNest has helped make things more manageable for all of us. There is no QuickBill feature, however, so each credit card transaction must be done individually. The customer support has been excellent, and their team is continually working to improve the software. Highly recommended!

Pros

minimal glitches, strong links between scheduling and billing aspects. Well built for larger practices.

Cons

No way (that I'm aware of) to bill multiple credit card transactions at the same time.

We had to add all clients by hand through the whole transition. Only can talk to the trainer once week as scheduled time. They charge you for all the clients you have in the system before you ever go live. Customer support is not great.

Pros

Seemed pretty easy to work with. Th e software had good information and looked like an easy implementation.

Cons

Customer support is very hard to work with. Everything is done on a scheduled time.

Reason for choosing TheraNest

After working with TheraNest for 3 months, and not being able to go live yet, We ended up ending our association with them. It was a $3000 mistake.

### "Great Program"

This program works well for scheduling and taking payments from clients. We haven't used many features offered because they are not needed for us, but these options leave room for growth. It's a great program

Pros

Cost was reasonable, especially for a non-profit counseling service. Ease of use for administrative personnel and counselors alike. They are continuing to grow and add new features, such as telehealth.

Cons

I would like some additional features, such as a check out feature that comes with an app for clients. We don't have a secretary, so counselors need to take payments. We'd prefer to get away from this. Hopefully they will work on this soon

The best software connection this office has made a change to. The was of teaching the process to therapists to use for notes and to incorporate client details and billing all into one is wonderful. Having access at the touch of your finger on your phone with the mobile app is an amazing bonus! Our therapists and billing office love the multilevel functionality and features.

Pros

For billing, this software is fairly easy to learn and very user friendly.

Cons

The inability to create an easy way to reflect and account for a refund of funds to a client or to account for a payment retraction from an insurer.

Theranest is the best practice management system ever. I have used two prior practice management systems and none compare to theranest. Theranest provides you with billing that prints statements, reconciles billing and even emails statements to your clients. It also provides you with a nice graph that keeps you up to date on how much money you have outstanding and how much you have collected. The best feature of all are the notes! Love the Wiley notes and treatment plans. It saves me so much time when I am doing patient notes. The Wiley notes is an extra cost but is so worth it. I can do my notes in half the time. It creates goals, objectives, everything you need to capture patient data. You must try this product, I am so glad I did. Once last shout out is that there customer support is awesome! They pop up on my screen asking if I need assistance and send friendly emails. The price is amazing for the service.!

Pros

The many features that it gives the provider. Of course billing is easy and tracking revenue.

Cons

When you first begin using it, it may can be a bit confusing but once you practice you get used to it. Another con is that you can not transfer information from your old software.

### "TheraNest--Great product for small/solo practices "

Pros

The product is easy to use and has most of the basic features needed in a Practice Management software package. I was attracted to this product partly because of their pricing structure that is based on the number of clients and not the number of users. We employ a number of part-time therapists so this fit our business model much better than the majority of products that are priced based on the number of users.

Cons

The system does import ERAs but the insurance interface is not very reliable or robust. It does not import all of the EOB information as other products do and it is not integrated into the client ledger as well as it could be. Thus electronic payment benefit and payment information is not always accurate or complete and takes additional work to process payments. The reporting capability is also limited as there is no custom report feature. We end up using a lot of spreadsheets to manage insurance payments and issues and also having to use insurance portals such as Navinet and Provider Express which take a lot of extra time.

I can now print notes and treatment plans directly from the system.

Pros

Session notes are written on a template that identifies treatment goals in the same space and allows for 90 day updates to be alerted.

Cons

I struggle with losing data when I switch to a different part of the file if I dont save first. I wish autosave happened when I switch pages.

Much easier to enter payments are to correct mistakes or re-submit billing than several other programs.

Pros

They update and improve it constantly, I found everything reasonably easy to learn except the ERAs set up to help you do appropriate charting and notes. many features for any size practice. works through Office Ally. Responsive tech support.

Cons

tech support not available WHILE I’m stuck and have time to work on it! comes a day or so later. seems like every action requires two or three unnecessary clicks. I find it Very hard and confusing to manage incoming payments with ERA system. finally gave up and hired someone to figure it out (who works on another complex system) and she ended up using Office Ally to get the EOBs and then enter what is needed in Theranest. I wish they had someone available to hire already expert. Email/chat support is responsive and reasonably helpful… but they may not get back for a day or so… which means when I have a few hours to work on or work through problems my time is wasted and the help is not helpful because it could be quite a while till i’ve got desk time available again.
