Every charge and deposit have been for the exact amount and got deposited on the right day. We have never had any issues receiving our funds. Overall we are very happy with it and I love the features.

Pros

The interface was very clean cut and easy to use. New features are always being added.

Cons

You have to wait at least 24 hours to talk to customer service. There is no way to call and talk to a real person.

Pros

Overall decent features, I liked the calendar and color coding.

Cons

Not as easy to use as simple practice, less features overall. They charge you for email and text reminders per email and text. Seems ridiculous. Also no way to edit the intake and note form templates. Not good at all.

But if you need more information we can provide a personalized demo for you! We do have note templates for you to utilize but if they do not quite meet your needs you are welcome to design your own custom form!

Not a fan. Fix the above and I would like you better!

Pros

Not much right now. The bad outweighs the good.

Cons

There is no option for a cancellation list. Our therapists do nothing for a whole hour when there are cancellations. I never let that happen with the old program but now my hands are tied. Only under the daily calendar is their unavailability blocked out. This means much scrolling and clicking sometimes through two months to find an opening! Even choosing the correct therapist takes 3-4 clicks plus scrolling; the old program: one click. It’s not an time-efficient program; long lines at the window or on the phone lines keeping clients waiting and receptionists stressing. Too much clicking and scrolling to get to where you need to be. We are transitioning from Antworks/Benchmark which was very efficient in these areas.

Saved time and frustration

Pros

It is almost a one stop shop for all of my counseling needs. It streamlines billing with clients and insurance. I don't need a separate way to charge credit cards. I don't need to keep a ton of paper files on hand and I can do my notes or bookkeeping anywhere I have a computer.

Cons

They don't have a video system yet. They have some trainings but I haven't been able to find them unless I act like I am researching the software.

Love it. Love the aesthetics, the ease and the reliability.

Pros

TheraNest is so user friendly and convenient. I was worried about the business aspect of starting my own private practice, but now I feel like a business champ. Still lots to learn, but TheraNest simplified and supports many aspects of running my practice with professionalism and sound ethics.

Cons

There are a few glitches here and there, but nothing major. I’d like to be able to switch a client to telehealth from my phone more easily (the button is very tiny and I had to play around to figure it out), and a single sign-in family portal would be useful. But those are easily worked around.

I was using a self created system, this is much better and I will stick with it. I have no idea if there are others that are better. I tried one other and didn't like it.

Pros

Simple EHR .. Works well. They are very helpful in setting it up. Great interface with the system

Cons

The billing is difficult and the reps have terrible customer support. Long-time on hold and sloppy response. Training videos are split in such a way that's it difficult to follow. Choppy

I love the billing option. My clients consistently pay before the session begins, so I don't have to lose precious session time talking about payment.

Pros

Nicely organized to integrate different features, including scheduling, billing, notes, reminders. It has a nice Client Portal for secure messaging, where a client can review past communications and completed appointments.

Cons

Telehealth function is weak. I lost connectivity several times with clients, which has not been happening with my other video conferencing software. Also, it lacks the option to expand the video image to full screen and to hide my self view, in order to fill my entire monitor with the image of the client, to give me and the client the best video experience.

Better design for therapy with payment coding and notes.

I'm going to submit all of my billing through TheraNest, because it's much more efficient than doing it on my own and will save me a lot of time for a small amount of money.

Pros

I like being able to submit billing, and I like the patient portal for new patients, so they can fill out information before I meet them in person or online.

Cons

It seems to have a lot of features that I still haven't had a whole lot of time to explore yet, but it is easy to get up and going by learning the basics in a short amount of time. I have had problems with the TeleHealth Sessions, but I think most issues are due to overstressed internet systems. One issue I haven't been able to resolve is the difficulty in seeing the client, or having the client see me at the beginning of the session without leaving and reconvening into the session a few times, and even that doesn't always work.

Reason for choosing TheraNest

It had the TeleHealth and billing options, but it looks like the TeleHealth service isn't working out.

TheraNest was a satisfying tool for me, but it didn't really do the trick in terms of pricing rates.

Pros

What I liked most about TheraNest is that it offers all the tools you need to manage your mental health practice, be it a small one or a clinic. Think about scheduling appointments, billing your clients, managing client and session information. It also offers the options of integrating online therapy.

Cons

I wasn't really convinced to keep using the software, because the pricing was dependent on the number of clients your practice has. As my practice grew, I decided to switch.

### "Great Platform for a Teletherapy Practice Looking for an 'All in One'"

So far so good! I like the ease of use, all of the tools offered, and how documents etc. can be formatted to fit my practice needs. I hope to continue using this platform.

Pros

I chose Theranest on the recommendation of an online therapists group I am a part of. So far, I have enjoyed the price point, the scheduling, calendar, intake and notes portion of Theranest and I like what I know about the teletherapy platform as well.

Cons

I am not completely sure about the teletherapy platform in that I have only utilized it on a 'trial' basis. I like that it is built into the emr service and it seems to be competitive with other teletherapy platforms I have tried or looked into.

Pros

The looks are easy enough on the surface. But even from the there the functionality is poor.

Cons

The billing side is terrible. They won't let you post a zero pay payment, like a deductible, in an easy way. You need to post the payment, then find the patient, do the codes, and do the adjustment. And if there is secondary insurance, the user has to mark it to bill. These should all be done for the user.

Reason for choosing TheraNest

Cost. But sometimes cheap costs too much.

easy to use and manage client case load

Pros

The templates are great, produces good looking pdf reports and notes to send to coordinating providers, super easy to write notes, do billing, and generate reports.

Cons

I haven't used the customization feature but we don't customize forms in our practice because the process apparently seems tedious. Practice specific forms are still done on paper and scanned into the client's chart. No EBP assessements (i.e., PHQ) built in.

I think it is good for therapy not for medication management

Cons

It is not very friendly for medication providers/medical providers. The minute changes in places to click to get into the scheduling pop up vs the chart is very annoying. There is no place right on the front that shows the sex or gender of the client, or the provider name. There are are too many places to sign, can the chart be in all on place. Instead clicking through screens can there be a toolbar? There is no interface with a national lab organization like Quest or Labcorp. The medication management intake and f/y templates require too much free typing and should allow more ability to click boxes, and pre populate favorite phrases. The diagnosis making and look up should be attached directly to the note not in a separate tab and location on the chart. We should be able to make a chart and all the things we need to do should be available in that one screen not having to jump to several different ones and then sign them all separate. It doesn't allow for a comprehensive note to be printed for referral purposes.

I have a very small practice and was looking for a PMS that would help me manage the paperwork without costing a lot of money. TheraNest has fit that bill nicely, is easy to learn and use, and has helped me keep track of my work. Initially I had very accessible and available customer support that walked me through various aspects of my learning. Lately, however, I have had more difficulty accessing the interactive online support. At times the icon doesn't appear on my page. TheraNest is always improving and responding to suggestions that are made, and has many help articles that are clear and easy to follow. I have only been using TheraNest for a few months, and there are features I have not yet explored. I have not used the client portal, their clearinghouses, or their voice or text reminders. My clients appreciate the email reminders that are free. I would recommend TheraNest to other clinicians. The main reason for the 4 stars on overall quality is the frustration I have had with customer support access.

I have been using this software now for 9 months. Overall I am pleased. Customer service is excellent. Seems comparably priced to other software companys. The mobile applications on an iPhone and iPad are my only complaints, needs improvement. They seem to be making changes all the time trying to improve. Recently added a client payment option in the portal, excellent feature. I use this as a sole proprietor so I cannot attest how it works for multiple therapist. I would recommend TherNest to others.

Pros

Customer service, that is does appointment reminders by text.

Cons

Mobile apps are not up to par

I have had no problems, customer service is very good. I would love to have immediate, live support, but what is offered is pretty good.

Pros

I need to have something that is aesthetically pleasing. There are some competitors that don't cut it. I like how Theranest looks and works. The more I use it, the better I get at understanding all of the features.

Cons

I wish it was easy to also allow for client signatures on treatment plans, and similar documentation, via the portal as it allows for the intake process. This is not exclusive to Theranest, however. With the explosion of teletherapy providers out there, myself included, I strongly desire this functionality.

Reason for choosing TheraNest

It was mainly between TheraNest and Simple Practice. I chose TheraNest due to it having access to the Wiley Treatment Plans and Wiley Progress Notes and due to hearing about it having better customer service in comparison to Simple Practice.

This makes our counseling office run much smoother, and will a lot less mixups or mistakes. It is great to be able to see the history and check who did what and make sure things are done properly.

Pros

clean, easy to use, not clunky or outdated, constantly being updated and added to, actually listen to consumers about updates that would be helpful in mental health field

Cons

can go down or be slow sometimes, BUT they are always quick to resolve it and are very responsive when you let them know of an issue

Pros

I love 90% of the software: intakes, batch superbills, and many of the other features. Moreover, I think the world of every person I was in contact with this company - so kind and responsive. Grade A++

Cons

Here is why I will not buy this product... 1. Mandatory confirmation of self scheduled clients. I read a neg review about this and when I took the webinar I realized that this is a terrible feature that causes the therapist massive chronic inconvenience. My current online scheduler allows patients to schedule and then I see their name pop up on my calendar - super easy. With your system I need to confirm up to 40 appts every week for the rest of my career. Grade F -- 2. No Group Therapy system. The calendar will not allow multiple clients to sign up for one group. Deal Breaker. Grade F -- 3. No specific start times on calendar. If I have 2 hours free ( say 1 - 3pm) then I want to fit in 2 clients. Your system would allow one client to schedule at 1:30 - 2:30, thus allowing only one client during that 2 hour block. Deal Breaker. Grade F-- When you address these three issues please let me know and I'll consider signing up.
