### "Makes My Private Practice Much Easier to Manage. "

March 24, 2026

5.0

I have been using TheraNest for over five years now. I first started using TheraNest when I was with an organization. When I moved to private practice, it was a no-brainer for me to use the same platform I had always found easy to use, and everything I needed to keep up-to-date paperwork was right at my fingertips.

Pros

What I like most about TheraNest is that it is easy to use, and the support staff are available and helpful.

Cons

There is not much that I don't like about TheraNest. I guess if I were to think about it, I would say that I would love it if there were more options in the intervention section of the treatment planning.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing TheraNest

I felt that it was easier to use and navigate.

### "Frustrated with Smartphone interfacing"

March 16, 2026

4.0

Overall, I like Theranest and am happy with how it works when on my desktop and how it helps me run my business. The interfacing with the smartphone is the only thing that annoys me currently.

Pros

Value for money, ease of use and billing using credit card. Scheduling is also an obvious big part of why I use this software, along with sending paperwork to clients. Customer service has been professional and attentive they also get back to me in a timely matter that has been a plus.

Cons

Im very frustrated that the scrolling features often do not work on my Android phone. In the early stages of using Theranest this was never an issue. Over the last year I have needed to connect with IT to try and resolve this. Solutions work for a season then stop working again. It is inconsistent in this "bug." Sometimes its the schedule that wont move, while currently it is when I want to write notes, it wont scroll \[in fact its doing right now in checking it...scrolls for a second then freezes\]. This problem alone often makes me question continuing with the product as it needs to be smartphone compatible and dependable, it is super frustrating. Additionally, this year I received a 1099 with my personal name and not my company name. This was due \[I think\] to the switch over from Vantage to Ensura. Im not sure why or how this occurred. After several emails I think it should resolve itself next tax cycle, but this was another weird frustration. I dont care who runs my credit card payments, but to not have it align with my company name seemed like a "dropped ball." Water under the bridge unless my 2026 tax information is wrong.

### "TheranNest- Growing to Meet Practitioner Needs"

March 24, 2026

4.0

TheraNest is a great product that is getting better and better. There is less repeating of information, and fluidity between screens has greatly improved. It holds all the information that you need and condenses under specific easy-to-find tabs.

Pros

TheraNest was a great choice for my first EHR system when I opened my own practice. I had used TN for a few years as an employee only. Using it from the provider side was a smooth transition.

Cons

A few years back TN was a little bit clunky to use moving from screen to screen. Proper training in all of its features is essential.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing TheraNest

Cost and familiarity, as I was already using TN as an employee.

### "The Theranest challenge "

March 11, 2026

4.0

I am happy that the insurance accepts my notes and I am able to peruse through my notes when I need to. I am having trouble scheduling my clients as sometimes the schedule is contemptuous. Otherwise, I am pleased with using this program to document my visits.

Pros

Most of the entries are easy to enter. The choices are helpful. I like the dropdown options. I like having choices for my client's report. I like satisfying my insurance carriers so that I can counsel my clients appropriately.

Cons

There are pages (Locus/discharge pages), that are not to be used. It's annoying to click on a page and find out it is no longer being used. I don't care for the scheduling section. It will double and triple schedule my client. I have to go through the appointment schedule to correct each appointment individually. That is bothersome.

### "Changes to workflow"

March 20, 2026

3.0

Overall it has been fine. Often the feedback from ticket I get is useful and just recently, the information given did not answer the question.

Pros

Before all of the changes, I liked the ease of use. It was very easy for my office manager to toggle back and forth between the agenda and an individual calendar for a therapist to make appointments.

Cons

Changes to our workflow. My office manager must now pull up an individual person's calendar to find a spot for the client, then go back to the agenda and choose every counselor to display all appointments on the agenda view. Prior to the changes, the agenda did not change based on a calendar selection. It adds several steps to her job with EACH client and takes time.

### "Good old, friendly TheraNest "

March 24, 2026

5.0

Well, I started my private practice with the TheraNest in 2021. I used Ehana at my previous job, a mental health clinic. TheraNest was quite user friendly which I appreciated the most, unlike Ehana. The scheduling, claim submission, and the ease of documentation and communication with the clients contributed to having a somehow stress free practice.

Pros

I very much appreciated the ease of use, and the fast pace of documenting my clients’ sessions. Also, being able to trust the platform as far as the sessions’ confidentiality being concerned.

Cons

In general, I did not have any significant issues with TheraNest. However, at the turn of the transition to Ensora, I seem to have lost some of my very important notes, i.e., some of the old treatment plans/documents, going back to 2021-2022. I reached out to the Ensora support team, they could not detect what had happened to those notes…still missing?!!!

Switched from

I used Ehana because it was offered through the clinic I used to work before having my private practice.

### "Theranest experience from a relatively small agency "

March 13, 2026

5.0

My overall experience has been positive. I appreciate that the developers send out information about changes made. Customer support has been quick and efficient.

Pros

I find it pretty intuitive. Pretty simple to use once you get a feel for how the overall program works. I like that the cost is based on the number of clients you're working with as opposed to the number of staff. This was helpful especially when we were just getting started.

Cons

I really don't like the way group sessions have to be scheduled. I also don't like that after someone is removed from a group, they may still show up on the progress notes list, even though it does show them as removed from the group, that tends to be an irritant for our staff.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing TheraNest

More cost effective for our needs. Other programs were too expensive starting out.

### "Easy to use Medical documentation site!"

September 12, 2025

4.0

I am a therapy provider that uses Ensora Health at least 4-5 days a week. I start my therapy career using Ensora health and as a new graduate I found it very easy to learn how to use and very easy to continue to use throughout my career. I like how Ensora health gives you the opportunity to contact customer support and leave recommendations on how Ensora Health can improve.

Pros

I feel like Ensora Health is very easy to use, easy to schedule and edit appointments, and is easy to help manage and streamline workflow for multiple staff members.

Cons

I feel like when it comes to insurance claims and support for when to complete progress notes to ensure that new authorizations are submitted and files to continue treatment there is a disconnect between Ensora and when authorizations are actually due.

### "Not worth the price or time "

September 17, 2025

1.0

I have worked with several programs over the last 25 years, and this program is by far the worst. In this day and age, program updates should be a positive move forward, not backward.

Pros

Do not like really anything about this program. If I could give it zero star on this site I would. Not worth the money.

Cons

Documents disappearing after saved in file, appointments disappear for no reason therefore our counselors have to save hardcopy since we can't trust this program. Any update causes more work for the company having to re-enter previous information save. When cancelling an appointment, the new update created extra steps to be taken in order to cancel it out. A biller at Theranest--proven by report ran--deleted all Blue Cross insurance information and when I filed a complaint along with supporting document---we never heard anything back. Company will try to save face by sending gaslighting messages that customer should have done this or that.

### "Financial loss and system glitch"

October 29, 2025

1.0

terrible and would not recommend as their follow through with a solution is very poor and not good business practice.

Pros

This has been the most frustrating experience since Ensora took over from Theranest. In all my years using Theranest, I never once had an issue like this. Since the transition, I’ve had six clients cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, and no one can explain why it’s happening. In this business, it is standard policy for cancellation and due to some kind of glitch that seems to have occurred since Ensora’s takeover, clients are now able to cancel appointments with less than 24 hours’ notice — something that was never possible before. This issue has caused repeated scheduling disruptions and financial loss, and it’s extremely frustrating that after all this time, there is still no clear explanation or resolution.

Cons

They have created a financial loss because of a glitch in their system and are unable to explain why this has occurred and still occasionally occurs.

### "Theranest is an excellent tool."

March 10, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience as a new user of Theranest has been seemless and efficient. My position doesn't require me to use all of the features, but in exploring them, I can tell they are all very user friendly.

Pros

I appreciate the user friendly format on Theranest, as well as the ability to communicate easily with several people simultaneously. I am especially fond of the appointments and features.

Cons

Honestly, it's hard to think of a con for Theranest. I guess the only thing that makes me stumble is when the page setup changes; it takes me a bit to assimilate. But that is more user deficiency on my part.

### "Seven year user. Would not recommend. "

April 9, 2025

1.0

Rapid decline. Over the past two years, with the constant changes that are unrelated to what I as a provider truly need or deem valuable, I am now actively looking to migrate to a new platform. I tolerated some decline because a large part of my work was slowed but not entirely interrupted by their changes. Currently, the changes are so disruptive that I am now willing to deal with the burden of migrating my whole system.

Pros

7 years ago, Theranest was very user friendly, good overall user experience and extremely responsive and personal customer service. When an issue arose, I was actually speaking with a person and often would get the same person for the next issue, which was great for rapport. None of this is true now or for the last 2 years. It has declined immeasurably and I have seen them upset their users over and over again with changes that are unrelated and unwanted for the providers utilizing their system. Customer service is highly automated and dead-end. Price increases have been consistent.

Cons

Over the course of 7 years the service has declined, such that the customer service is no longer personal and live, but highly automated and lacking accountability or resolutions for very basic tech issues. Changes are rolled out often that are not regularly supported by providers nor are they communicated with advance notice. Currently, they have rolled out a systematic change with the transfer to Ensora and providers are fully unclear about what this means in terms of data usage and privacy re: AI integrations, options to opt out of unneeded services, price changes, note taking, and other ethical and clinical related issues. Their current responses are dismissive, uncaring, and blanket statements. It's a completely different company and experience from 5-7 years ago;

### "My TheraNest Journey"

March 16, 2026

5.0

Overall, I have been pleased with my experience and have appreciated the use of this EHR. It was easy to learn and in the beginning I received excellent customer care and support! This is when I needed it the most.

Pros

Ease of use and set up for therapist and therapy, appointment scheduling, and staff and workflow. TheraNest has been a great value for money compared to other EHRs available.

Cons

Sometimes it is hard to get concise follow up from customer support when I put in a call. This has been the case on a few occasions when I've been trying to ask questions about insurance claims.

### "Great Platform for Clinicians"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Overall i pove how easy it is to navigate the site. I appreciate the options to review and resend patient receipts. I also appreciate the new update with booking appointments on a continuous basis, that saves me a lot of time!

Pros

I love how easy it is to use. As someone who is super busy, I always appreciate convenience and user friendly platforms!

Cons

One drawback, is whenever I finish updating a client, I always go back to the main page with everyones clients instead of just my own. I wish there was a way to just see my clients at all times.

### "Love the new TheraNest, However, I prefer the old one that works better."

March 22, 2026

5.0

TheraNest has become a bit difficult to navigate, even though I like the new set up. I have not figure out how to forward my appointment to calendar.

Pros

I like TheraNest because it's easy to navigate. I find it very informative. The upgrade is easy to manage, however, difficult navigating to the calendar.

Cons

Right now I am finding TheraNest not to be very productive for me. I am unable to link my appointments to my calendar.

### "Solid but outdated. "

February 20, 2025

3.0

Overall Theranest has served my practice well however, we are considi g moving to a new platform.due to the limitiations of the prospective clie t interface. Everything is manual in Theranest, I would like to see some automations. Standard client interactions. For example, if the clients intake forms are not complete but the client has had two appointments, can the system send an automated remimder?

Pros

Ease of use, intuitiveness and recent changes that offer the ability to navigate to most of the major screens from any screen.

Cons

I am dissatisfied with the limitations of intake for new clients. I would like to see more integrated prospective client contact features. Including initial point of contact, scheduling, automated text follow ups, etc for prospective clients. Also, I used to really like the training platform. I dont like it anymore it's too cumbersome and convoluted. There are some reports that I would like to see improvements on.

overall, good value. having used other more complicated systems that counties and larger agencies use, TheraNest is unlike those...TheraNest is uncomplicated and designed for therapists.

Pros

easy to navigate, billing is easy, can create standardized forms, can upload documents into client file, agenda and calendar view are helpful, notes are narrative-not drop downs

Pros

I like how many areas this system connects that would otherwise be disjointed. I like that it gets updated and upgraded regularly.

Cons

They get 2 stars because their customer service is polite and responsive. The product is ok, but issues that impact my ability to do business is very frustrating and incredibly time consuming.

Pros

Convenience of having comprehensive EHR software.

Cons

Although their response to an issue is quick, it can take an exceptionally long time to resolve it. One example, the appointment times on my daily agenda were showing appointments in PST and I am in EST, it took almost 8 weeks to resolve. The past 4 years they haven't provided a timely 1099K, it takes repeated requests to receive it in March!!

### "Great EHR for Small Practices"

Great EHR! We loved that pricing was al la carte based on our needs and usage. Basic customizations as well.

Pros

Very user friendly with multiple tools to help with managing a practice.

Cons

The invoicing was confusing at times and it was challenging that we couldn’t lock down the financials by month. This created issues if someone had to make a correction since this would change historical data.
