Great EHR! We loved that pricing was al la carte based on our needs and usage. Basic customizations as well.

Pros

Very user friendly with multiple tools to help with managing a practice.

Cons

The invoicing was confusing at times and it was challenging that we couldn’t lock down the financials by month. This created issues if someone had to make a correction since this would change historical data.

Pros

Theranest is a value for the money there is great customer support if you encounter a problem and Theranest is easy to use

Cons

I do not have any complaints about Theranest. The feature that I would benefit from would be to check clients insurance.

Over all it is good. We had an issues 2 weeks ago, that was time sensitive and we could not get the issue fixed until a week later. That was unacceptable. One of our receptionist entered the wrong amount for a copay and instead of charging the client $27.08 they were charged $2708.00. This charge went to a credit card thankfully and not their back account. When we were made aware of the mistake the next day, we could not return the payment due to having a cap set at $1000.00. This took 2 different people and 5 days later to fix. The client had to dispute the charge through the credit company to get this removed. This should never have gotten to that point. We should have been able to return this amount the follow day. (2 days at the most)

Pros

I like the way it is set up and you have everything you need for that client in one spot.

Cons

You are limited to space in some areas and not able to highlight certain things in the note section, or make them bold. So they will stand out.

I had a steep, but swift learning curve using the platform, and my customer service rep, \[sensitive content hidden\], answered all of my questions patiently. It's very nice that it offers an affordable HIPAA compliant video option. I feel that it was a worthy investment for my practice.

Pros

The value- it's an affordable price, and a very thorough platform.

Cons

New clients cannot do their intake paperwork on a smartphone ( or they try and are not able to fully submit it). I would like there to be a template for DAP notes, but SOAP template works fine!

Good tool for what I need. The practice purchases this program for our staff with the office manager capable of support.

Pros

Easy to navigate, see the calendar as a month at a glance view. Notes section has the added AI assistance to type accurate documentation.

Cons

If I toggle between screens, the information is sometimes deleted of what I had previously typed. I have to retype some of my responses.

I have been mostly happy since 2018, but now that I can't see or change anything on my schedule beyond 60 days I am considering switching.

Pros

has all I need--scheduling, reminders, CC billing, superbills, telehealth platform, customizable forms

Cons

The merged and customer support has diminished and a recent software update blocks us from seeing and changing appointments more than 60 days in advance.

I did 30 day demo of each. Simple didn't answer any questions during that month, thera did. Thera was more costly, but getting answers to questions is valuable and worth $.

Overall experience is great, I really enjoy the customer service option and never feel as if I am left in the dark.

Pros

I love their customer service the most. Anytime I have any problems, I send customer service a message and have never ended a chat without a resolution.

Cons

There is not really one thing I dislike, but I have had some trouble with the notes & using previous notes.

Can sometimes struggle with connection issues or items saving if I need to toggle between more than one tab.

Overall, I would say that TheraNest has been a good experience, and I would recommend it to other therapists.

Pros

I like how easy, simple and applicable TheraNest is to my documentation needs.

Cons

I do not like how this program does not automatically save my work. If I am not saving notes/assessments (short and or long documents) periodically and there is an issue with TheraNest or the internet connection, all is lost, and I need to start over. This creates more work for me and demands more of my time.

Theranest is efficient and organized. It is the easiest to use and navigate as compared to other EMR softwares I have trialed.

I would like to be able to submit treatment plans with a signature.

Pros

I like having clients profiles all in one place, and the Wiley treatment planning! I also like how as a small practice I can set my price based on number of clients I have in the system. I like the tiered system!

I love it. It has mostly everything that is needed to get the job done.

Pros

It's user friendly for the providers and clients.

Cons

When I need help it will not allow me to chat. It takes my information and I have to wait for a response via email. I am unable to use the ERA auto post function because it does not work with the payer. I am unable to use 270 / 275 function.

The program is easy to use; has quite a few features that I don't need. Customer service is lacking

Easy to use. I don't use a lot of the features that are provided

Cons

Poor customer service. Dealing with a payment issue for over 2 months. Having to chase people down for a response. Rules and guidelines aren't easily laid out due to what they feel Admin "should" be doing; but it's not a requirement. Due to this non-requirement; TN has taken almost $500 from me due to a data breach; that I still have yet to hear anything about how it happened.

TheraNest has been working for me most of the time. I have had issues with not being able to speak with anyone over the phone to address an ongoing issue I have with dating assessments for clients and dating the assessment document accurately as well as addressing Medicaid client requirements and documentation.

Pros

It is easy to setup and had most of the documents that I use already created.

Cons

I cannot change the intake date so that I date my initial assessment document accurately and not date it for the day the client is entered into the system. The initial assessment form also cannot be duplicated.

I use it 5 Days or more a week and it is really convenient that the website is so easy to use and navigate that I can do it either on my phone or on my laptop i can do it at home or on the go. Its really a well made and well thought about application.

Pros

I appreciate the ease of navigating through the website and I really like the Simplicity of the site as well. For example when scheduling appointments its very basic and easy to run through and communicating and sumbiting documents and progress notes is very successful and accurate.

Cons

Only thing I can think of is that I cant set a name or date when saving drafts.

Pros

It’s easy to quickly log into the app. The calendar comes in really handy, I can easily look back at previous or future activities and that helps me make quick plans or even change decisions fast, plus I can make notes which can also be edited.

Cons

The frequent updates is terrible, at first we taught it was because they just changed name but it’s too frequent and when this update is done, it seems something has changed, we have lost some documents or can’t seem to find it because of these updates.

Pros for TheraNest are it’s all in one features. You can do scheduling, billing, consolidating, etc. Flexible pricing, it is good for smaller businesses. Customer support is helpful and response fast.

Cons

Cons for TheraNest are the mobile app doesn’t have all the features as the desktop version. Also has limited customization. Some templates lack flexibility.

I rate it as a 3. It is very difficult to get the billing, claims, EFT's and ERA's set up! See Comments ABOVE! \[sensitive content hidden\] was a GOD Send and went above and beyond to help me get my system working correctly. Like I said, I had referred this program to 4 others and because of the difficulty---- Those people changed. You could have had more people and making more money! Period!

I like the flatform and being able to do notes on system.

Cons

Very Difficult to get the billing, claims, EFT's and ERA's set up! THIS NEED A LOT OF IMPROVEMENTS!! MORE HELP FROM YOUR BILLING DEPARTMENT. YOU NEED TO FIGURE THIS OUT... I HAD 4 people want to use this program and they all changed because they could not get any of the billing, claims, EFT's, and ERA's set up! I about changed EMR systems due to this same problem! If it were not for help from \[sensitive content hidden\] in the billing to help me many times when I scheduled-- I would have changed systems as well. \[sensitive content hidden\] needs good recognition because it was her that helped me get my system set up!!!
