### "A MUST HAVE!! "

This software saves me so much administrative time! Using TheraNest, I also save by not having to hire a billing company! Billing is a matter of a few clicks! It is truly a MUST HAVE for private practice! The customer service and technical help are prompt, friendly and professional! It was easy to set up and get started using. The help database is amazing (videos and articles). I have referred three others because I am so impressed and enjoy using TheraNest! I researched and trialed others, and I am 100% happy with my decision to use TheraNest! Time saving TheraNest helps me get rest!!!

Easy to learn and use! Super user friendly and intuitive! Great value! Telehealth option with interactive worksheet feature!!! Has mobile app version. Calendar syncs with google calendar. Processing payments is a breeze! Forms and client portal save time and paper! Billing is quick and easy--few clicks and done! Reports are nice business management feature! ### "Easy to Use"

It's been easy to work with the help desk, though sometimes it takes them too long to get back to me on how to fix something.

Pros

It is very easy to add clients, archive as necessary, keep DAP notes, complete treatment plans and other needed documents. Client also find it very easy to sign into, pay co-pays and to complete documentation when necessary. The ledger is also very interactive and easy to work with.

Cons

Telehealth appointments must be made scheduled weekly. I cannot schedule recurring sessions for any Telehealth appointments.

Reason for choosing TheraNest

I liked the ease of use, keeping track of the appointments, billing, aging billing, accounting, sending out invoices and "one click payment options". It was also easily adaptable to my needs as I learned the system and integrated more of my "paperwork" onto the EHR platform. I could move at my own pace.

### "Very good resource for our group practice"

We have been users of Theranest for the last year. It is very, very user friendly, especially compared with some of the other products that we demo'd. Most things were very, very well --- scheduling, appointment reminders, progress notes, reporting features that help us know who is current with progress notes and assessments and who has gotten behind, treatment planning and diagnostic features. We do not use the Wiley Treatment Planner library, but we might at some point and are thrilled that it is available. We initially used the merchant account features to run credit/debit/flex cards through the system, but we found we could save considerably by having a merchant account with our bank instead. Switching back and forth was not a problem. We have generally been very pleased with most aspects of the service, especially the finance terms. This platform works very well for a practice that has several clinicians and when the work is exclusively individuals, couples or families.

Pros

We love it that we pay a rate based on the number of active clients, not the number of users. We have several part-time staff who want and need to be able to use the same system, and other EHRs charge by clinician. The best part, though, is that it looks and feels very much like a paper record, and getting tech-anxious clinicians to make the switch from paper really very easy. Even the most reluctant found that they love it and do not complain about changing from paper to EHR.

Cons

Group rosters, group notes and scheduling of groups is possible but definitely a weak area for Theranest. Other weak areas include the way the ledger interfaces with attendance in the creation of invoices and superbills (putting cancellations on them, even if there was no charge). And lastly, reporting features could be better for helping practice managers better assess productivity and other information. The dashboard looks great, but as far as I can tell, we can't change the data that the graphics are pulling from and they always are reporting information that is from the beginning of the practice's use of Theranest, not with any particular timeframe or different variables. This may be possible to change, but if so, it's not easy enough for THIS user to figure it out.

Theranest is a nice fully supportive software that allows me to keep all client records from billing to treatment plans and intake information in one spot.

Pros

The software is pretty easy to use, and they are always working toward improving it. There are some glitches or features that I hope they get to soon, but overall I am grateful for the product.

Cons

It would be helpful if you could make reoccurring telehealth appointments. It would also be nice if you could set your calendar with breaks.

### "DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT - The worst platform for Mental Health"

We have asked for a discount due to not being able to access services we are paying for and Theranest refused constantly blaming other companies for some outages. Not our problem! Even a small discount would have been nice but some guy \[sensitive content hidden\] (I believe a supervisor) was cocky enough to not provide any discounts at all. Too bad! They just lost a $2000 a month client!

Pros

not much other than being a basic platform similar or worse to other on the market

Cons

They have constant issues with the connectivity, system doesn't work for hours (sometimes the whole day). Very embarrassing for our clients if you can't access their data. Their customer team seems not to care and keep sending us "copy and paste" messages sorry but not really sorry, not our fault!

Right now I am having an insurance billing issue that TheraNest is not able to help with me because of liability. The insurance company is not giving me the information I need either so it's kind of try this, if that doesn't work try that. A little frustrating.

Pros

Product is easy to use. Training videos and information are very helpful

Cons

I wish we could duplicate email address for the client portal to combine family members

I would recommend Theranest to anyone who has less than 30 active clients at any given time. Once you go over 30 and add the price of extra features it goes from being comparable value to not being a good value.

Pros

The initial first session paperwork such as intake, privacy policies and informed consent are extremely easy to edit and make your own. Being able to do one note for a group and have it go to each group member's file was awesome.

Cons

Price is based on number of active clients and therefore was not good for me because of seeing some clients just to do evaluation and doing groups which makes number of clients more. Also reminders and other features are extra. I prefer to pay one price and know what it is. There is not the option to put handouts, assignments into folder for clients to access. You have to send them back and forth which clients complained was inconvenience. However, if my clients had not had previous experience with Counsol where there was folders I do not think they would have complained because they would not have known of other option.

After you send your initial intake forms you can certainly resend forms in a packet and not one by one. A support team member can reach out and help you with this. As far as pricing - our philosophy is that the number of active clients you serve is a much better representation of the size and needs of your practice than the number of people you have on staff. Allowing you to archive an unlimited number of clients and reactivate them at any time results in the vast majority of our customers paying significantly less for similar features versus our competitors. On average, things like text reminders cost less than $1/mo for 1 provider. Other optional features like Telehealth and Wiley Planners are optional add-ons rather than mandatory upgrades.

### "Favorite EHR System!"

I am very happy with my experience with TheraNest. I feel secure knowing all my files are in one place and I can access from anywhere, anytime. Training staff is easy too with so many videos and articles to help train them on how to use the system.

Pros

The product is intuitive and easy to use. I love the note writing (can copy from last note), treatment planning (wiley system) and billing features. I love that TheraNest is constantly updating and making the system better and better!

Cons

Creating custom forms can be difficult. You can't copy and paste a document easily and have to re-create each one. Once you get used to it, it becomes easy just takes some learning :) Sometimes it takes a day or two to hear back from customer service if you use the chat feature.

The automated and interactive appointment (text) reminders.

Cons

The changes that they make are often unnecessary and they do so without advanced notice. It is very difficult to get in touch with customer support when we have problems. Have requested a feature multiple times and although I have had responses from support team letting me know that they would look into it, nothing happens.

I haven't had to hire someone to do my insurance submission, which would take from my business profits as a sole proprietor.

Pros

I liked that I was able to submit insurance simply and quickly, with claims accepted and paid in a reasonable time frame. I like being able to have my clients fill out on line forms so that their information is easily accessible. Setting up appointments is also easy and am able to set them up on my phone app as well. The price is more reasonable than all the others I checked out. For an extra $10/month I am able to provide telemental health appointments securely to my clients. Customer service has been very helpful and they have been able to solve any problem I am having.

Cons

Phone App does not have as many features as Simple Practice, which is why I first chose Simple Practice over Theranest. Forms were not as easy to create as Simple Practice. Sometimes takes a while to get my questions answered. Would like to have someone available by phone that was more easily accessible.

Reason for choosing TheraNest

Less expensive and I had already had a trial with TheraNest and was pleased with the people who were involved in answering my questions as I was learning.

### "Theranest problems"

I am reaching out on this public platform because theranest doesn't acknowledge or understand the problems we are having. Theranest needs to buy more ability to hold data and hire more staff for customer service.

Pros

I like the layout, calendar (except for the problems with it) and forms and ability to create forms.

Cons

Customer service issues are answered within 3-10 days and by chat. If you want to talk to someone you can make an appointment for a week later and then you get 15 minutes. This way, theranest customer service makes suggestions for what's not working. Then after we use theranest's suggestions and they don't work, we must wait another 3-10 days for help. Also, twice theranest has deleted all of our providers appointments without any explanation or any way to speak to anyone at theranest. These appointments were deleted for 3-5 days. Other times, notes are deleted even though the system says saved. Theranest has to be refreshed 3 or 4 times every time it is used. Appointments disappear from the calendar and we don't know why, but there's no one to talk to so we just reenter the client.

Pros

TherNest is largely intuitive and is platform-wise laid-out in logically and straight-forward ways. There are some reports that have been 'clunky' or not available but support is very responsive.

Cons

I wish reports were more flexible and downloadable into spreadsheets for great data manipulation.

Easy to set up, easy to use.

Pros

In hospital and community mental healthcare jobs I have used more than 10 EHRs over the years. TheraNest has it figured out. It's sleek design makes it enjoyable and easy to use--you can customize what you want to see and what you don't. Scheduling and billing are a breeze, tele-health built in for a nominal fee, treatment plans and goals of therapy helps also for a small fee. And the analytic reports are so helpful in running my business. I love everything about it.

Cons

The only criticism I have is in the pop up window when trying to build a recurring schedule in which there is a date conflict--the pop up message is only that there is a conflict--it does not show you the date that needs to be resolved. That takes a little time in narrowing down, but not a huge deal.

Pros

I have used Theranest for over five years since starting my solo private practice. The ease of use has been outstanding. I have everything I need to keep organized records, appointments and invoices all in one place. I transitioned to providing Telehealth seamlessly with Theranest during the Covid pandemic as well.

There is really nothing I don't like about it.

### "Worst customer service ever!!!"

Customer service kills it for me since that's really important in the technology world.

Pros

The software is incredibly user friendly and easy to learn.

Cons

Their customer service is awful. If you call the 1-800 number you won't ever get a live person. It's always a voicemail and they will call you back within 24 hours. You better not be with a client or in a meeting when they call back because then you have to call the 1-800 # back again, leave a message, and then wait another 24 hours. Once you actually get a person they won't ever be able to help. They will have to send it onto their "tech" team. The people are always incredibly nice and friendly, but rarely any help. There are no alert features in this program either.

### "Good but needs some improvements "

I would say in the beginning Theranest was excellent, it has made a lot of updates and improvements but the Telehealth still needs a lot of help to be more efficient. Im debating on cancelling my subscription and using Zoom or Doxy.me instead. Also takes longer to implement suggestions, I felt they were quicker in the beginning.

Pros

I love the automatic appointment reminders and the missing progress notes reports. I also love the set up for entering notes. Love the new prescriber software.

Cons

1\. The Telehealth app is very glitchy (lose sound and video often) 2. No chart alerts options, which Ive requested for the past one year 3. Customer Service is hard to get to, takes too long, hours too short especially since we have evening shifts

Reason for choosing TheraNest

It was one of the top 5 EMRs on a report I found online and out of the five it was the cheapest and seemed the most intuitive.

### "Horrible Customer Service"

We are solving no problems only creating more. Will not eve recommend Theranest and recommend to others if you do have theranest that there are better platforms out there that have great customer service.

Pros

Our company did not like anything that theranest had to offer.

Cons

Theranest has no customer support. You can email for days and still never hear back. You can also have video conferences with head support members and still get nowhere. We have been dealing with issues with Theranest for over 5 months now. We are still getting no support nor any communication back.

Customer service at theranest is exemplary. Whenever I've had a problem they are right there to help, to assist.

Pros

What I like most about this therapist software is that it makes my job so easy. The the main uses of this software for me or charting my notes and billing my insurance. And with voice recognition Google software all I have to do is dictate my notes after the client leaves. Takes me 3to 4 minutes to do the notes in to get them done. I no longer have to spend time at the end of the day charting trying to remember what happened in a particular session. This is so easy and I'm so grateful that I have had this software for probably six or seven years.

Cons

You know there is nothing I do not like about the software. Oh yes there is one thing I wish I could customize the progress notes section more to meet my needs. There's a lot of things on that page that I have no need for and so I have to find where to do my notes.
