UI is user friendly and almost feature is works as user expected. this means decrease learn curve. Pros 1\. Intuitive workflow for new start for 3d field designer. almost UI is predictable with just check icon. 2. Simple Modeling feature. basic Spline modeling could be done very quickly and intuitively. 3. Embedded Map source. User can select map embedding option which reduce efforts of map managing. 4. AR oriented features. Exporting models directly to augment engine. 5. Good community. Kindly helpers and Some artists supply stunning result and tutorial. 6. Price is good compare with similar level of application. Cons 1\. Modeling Performance and features are bit out of date and slow. Sometimes big mesh date could not handles. 2. Animation features are limited. It's been my mainstay for product and architectural visualisation and diagram illustration creation for such a long time. From diagrammatic to photorealistic and complex modelling it does it all. I love it and simply couldn't imagine using anything else. Pros It's easy to learn and use. Very intuitive. And you an get stunning results incredibly quickly. Cons I'm not the best at keeping organised so could use a more comprehensive way of managing assets (shapes and textures). Larger projects can become quite cumbersome quite quickly. This isn't the product's fault of course but it could be an area of improvement. Senior Designer Used the software for: 2+ years ### "I model my exhibit designs in VectorWorks and render them in Strata because of the quality of light." April 12, 2018 3.0 The cost savings is shocking considering the capability of the program. The support and tutorials from both Strata and StrataCafe, has been very helpful. They have even helped me learn other programs faster and easier. Pros The precise control of Soft Shadows gives the renders greater sense of reality. I have used it since version 3 about 20 yrs now. I have used 3d studio, Form - Z, Cinema4D at professional level proficiency but I always come back to Strata.I can get the same or better images from Strata as I can from any of the other professional rendering packages for far less of an investment in expense and time. It also has some very sophisticated Polyspline SDS (subdivision surfaces) modeling and other features that would cost more in other programs. There is great variety and depth of tutorials on StrataCafe.com. Cons It is quirky and a little slow to model and texture designs, but what do you expect for a program that cost 1/5 of the others. Review Source LE Lily E. designer Design Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Learned in an internship and carried the skillset with me into employment " March 5, 2022 4.0 I started using Strata while interning for a packaging signage company. I am a Graphic Designer who had no experience with 3D rendering. Overall, I think it was fairly easy to learn basic 3d modeling/rendering because of how I could integrate it with adobe programs I was already proficient in. It was simple and intuitive to make a cross section of a 2d shape in illustrator and then pull it into strata to create a 3d model. However, any skill beyond that was not very intuitive and was quite hard to learn. Thankfully, most shapes I needed for packaging/signage design were able to be created the most basic way. Pros I liked the integration between 2d designs and 3d design and how you can create solid 3d renderings with very little skill/experience. Cons I didn't like how non intuitive certain features are, specifically 3d mesh. I also didn't like that strata university costs extra. I think that should be included in the subscription. I also didn't like that it is only available for older iOS. I have a newer MacBook and had to buy an older version just to use this program. Pros What I liked most about the software is that it was pretty easy to manipulate the shapes. We could also bring in our own model library and use it easily. Cons What I liked least about the software was it was difficult to understand the way the layers were organized.
