Overall, I would rate PayScale a 6 out of 10. There are some features that are great but implementing can be a pain. Got a unique company with many different industries in one, PayScale doesn’t cater to us.

Pros

Payscale provides a wide scale of data sets, from customer data to HR analysis from many different data sets. Payscale allowed for a variation of jobs and allows your to combine many jobs into one (blend) which helps accurately achieve salaries for unique job titles.

Cons

The implementation was horrible and we didn’t feel prepared to run simple reports after implementing PayScale. The reporting options are very vague or overly detailed. There is no medium and there aren’t common reports that many clients use frequently.

Overall it has been a very positive experience. It is a robust experience with a plethora of data, that is manageable to use given the complexity of the information it is working with.

Pros

We use Payfactors specifically, and it is a huge help to our work pricing jobs and ensuring an informed relationship to external market data.

Cons

There can be a little bit of a learning curve to it, and some of the nuances are not entirely clear. For example, utilizing quick price vs starting a new pricing project seem to yield different results when searching for the same job match.

We started out on the original PayScale product, it worked ok but it took literal hours to load and occasionally data from api pulls was miss matched. We were told that to fix this we should upgrade to the new Insight Lab product, which we did of course at an additional cost. The interface was faster but the reports were still unreliable. The response was to upgrade to the new PayFactors product to fix this. We declined as it didn't meat our customization needs, the sales man was not able to answer any of the questions we posed to him, and ultimately we weren't willing to pay more for a product again just to fix the unreliablity of the product they sold us. A year later we are still experiencing issues every review season, they asked to meet about our issues. I told them three times at least that we would meet but do not try to sell us PayFactors, we aren't willing to continue going through the pains of a data migration just to pay more and continue to face the same issues. Of course they came to the meeting with a sales pitch for PayFactors and were surprised that we weren't interested in their "generous" offer of the new platform at the same price. The point was made that there is a trust issue at this point and there is no reason to continue trying the newest, latest, greatest product when nothing has worked as promised yet.

Pros

There is versatility, it takes into account things that deviate from the normal duties and requirements of a role.

Cons

It is not reliable, data doesn't update appropriately, the sytem is slow.

PayScale had customization options that other companies did not offer.

Pros

Not much right now, as Payscale is consistently a roadblock in getting my work done.

Cons

CONSISTENTLY have trouble accessing the payscale site due to system outages. I have currently been locked out of the site for over a week, with only one successful login, which was not at a time my schedule allowed for the deep work of re-benchmarking positions. As someone that works in the SaaS industry, I understand the technical difficulties and have a great deal of patience in these situations. However, Payscale is NEVER reliable and seems that 8 out of 10 times I try to log in, the system is unavailable. The system is easy to navigate when you can get in. But when you can't get in 80% of the time, that just doesn't do you any good.

I am using using software since last many years and can say that it is a totally reliable and trustworthy tool for the dept. Very much happy with the software.

Pros

PayScale Suite provides the right level of data, Assembles a modern compensation strategy and structure and communicate compensation with confidence. Forestall costly turnover and ensure pricing is accurate for every job. Rich in unique features and totally friendly tool to work with.

Cons

Only works on Desktop and Laptop, Android and iPhone/iPad platforms are not supported.

Terrible! Customer service disappears as soon as you sign up. Data is not accurate. They held me to a contract during COVID crisis when I missed the window to cancel by 5 days.

Pros

There are some built-in job descriptions, but few were relevant to our business.

Cons

The data is not current and accurate! We had pay ranges reported that were below minimum wage!

Pros

What I like about PayScale is that I can see what my compensation for my job should be. PayScale tells me the average wages for my job position.

Cons

There is no least about PayScale software. PayScale tell me what salary should my job be during the interview.

I barely used the product; tried to terminate in 2019, was told that I could not (not true). Just terminated last year of contract, getting charged $800 to terminate. Payscale has no commitment to customer success.

Pros

Nothing - could not find one redeeming feature.

Cons

Difficult user interface - not intuitive. Not good comps available, so data meaningless

Pros

Payscale is a fantastic site because you can use it to see how much you should be earning at your job. Otherwise how else can you find out how much people in your industry are making? I use payscale to figure out how much I should charge for a job and as a finance writer, I use payscale's survey research all the time to help me write articles about all kinds of careers.

Cons

I really like that PayScale uses surveys to gather their data because then you know their numbers are the actual salaries of real people across the states. But some of their careers could use more survey data than they have.
