I did get a bunch of applicants in the first few days. Not the best match to what I was looking to hire for, but a high volume. As I spoke with candidates I found they were using their Zip app to bulk apply to jobs. Most had no idea who I was or even remembering applying to our open positions. Pros We love how easy it is to post your job. They have a nice tool in the backend to measure the candidate match to your job posting. Cons Not a fan of how quickly your candidates stop coming in...unless you pay them more money. We have had luck within the first few days getting candidates, but I feel like their system is built on a PPC model rather than a true job posting platform. Once the budget for our account dries up, so do the applicants. The important information is up front and easy to find. Any issues with job postings are unlikely to be the fault of ZipRecruiter, but the people copying and pasting their listing from another site. My only issue so far has been with the resume tool. I have a very stylized resume which does not like to be converted to text. So, when I upload it I often have to correct the text that it has tried to convert. It makes it painful to make minor changes to my resume because I have to start from scratch every time I upload an updated resume. Pros Easy to Use. User-friendly layout. Helpful tools. Cons Buggy resume features. Employer errors are rampant. I'm sure it will and has worked for many people Pros They stay on top of job openings, and are very very quick to send you an email with a few selections . It knows which jobs to show me, based on my skills and experience. April 11, 2018 5.0 I get the right jobs in my inbox auotmatically without me logging into my account and search for it. Pros It does not send you whole lot of jobs that are not related to me so i don't need to keep scrolling down to look for what i am looking for. Cons still need to refine the search so I get only the jobs based on my resume(skills, experience etc). Not the jobs I don't want to see and waste my time reading thru it. I found an advertised job only to click on it and find although the deadline for its application had already passed it was still posted on the website. Cons The emails were sometimes a little off, showing me jobs in much lower salary ranges than I put in for. Cons The algorithms don't seem to be that great. We get people applying that are way above the salary we're looking to hire for and it's a waste of time. I have accidentally reached out and scheduled an interview not realizing. If either of us hadn't noticed then a lot of time would've been wasted, but thankfully we spoke before the interview and realized what happened. Reason for choosing ZipRecruiter We thought it would be better. We had several issues with ZipRecruiter so we ended up going with the other company after no good interviews with ZipRecruiter. Pros Initial easy access to and matching of relevant qualifications, experience, expertise, etc from a large pool of applicants Cons Negatives Final product (in this case the optimal candidate) quality can only be determined with a face to face /video phone chat. The reviewer/s need to be highly skilled in the relevant technical and administrative/management (mensuration) assessment themselves, otherwise it's intended effectiveness may not be optimal. Often received complaints from the talent pool being, certain unspoken discriminatory practices (which are difficult to prove, but still exists as a signifier)related to age, experience, ethnicity, preconceived notions of other prejudices, list goes on.. Pros They might be able to help you find work and that is always a bonus! It is user-friendly for the most part and has a lot to choose from! Cons Everything in the field I am in is garbage! May 26, 2021 2.0 If they could figure out a way, a verification process possibly for the companies and people that are looking to hire; and eliminated all the rest- I think it would be perfect! I understand in almost any business like that, you'll get your share of spammers. It just seemed unforgivingly excessive. Pros It has one of those really awesome features where you're able to do a one click apply. Love those! It isn't on all applications, whereas the other portion of them require you to fill out the application on their third party/company website. Cons There are a lot, and i mean A LOT of scammers that come through here. I have never gotten my hopes up and then let down so much as I did in the 8-12 months that I used this service. Of course, it was during COVID, so the economy is in a bad place and then you have people trying to steal your info on top of that. I think i got maybe 2 REAL and genuinely legit responses. I do think that it is useful, just not for highly skilled, technical positions. Pros It is pretty easy to set up and use. It does what it says; it posts to multiple job boards. We had candidates reasonably quickly. Cons It did not work well for us. Almost all of the candidates we received were not suited or qualified for what we had posted. If the positions you are filling do not require very specific experience, then it may work well for you. It definitely gets the word to the masses. Pros Ziprecruiter is a very easy tool. It takes the hard work out and is not as cumbersome as some of indeed's processes. Cons It's not nearly as popular as indeed. Pros I liked the ease of reviewing applications and the ability to set a customized application with interview questions that must be answered to apply. Cons It seemed like we would get an influx of applications the first few days and then almost nothing afterwards. Also, the quality of the candidates was extremely weak, and many who applied would not respond back regarding an interview.
