### "ZipRecruiter is Fantastic for Job Seekers"

July 30, 2025

5.0

Overall, ZipRecruiter is a good source for job searching. As an HR professional, I have obtained valuable information regarding trending marketing, benefits, and overall compensation in the Atlanta region.

Pros

Email communications, ease of use, recruitment processes and fantastic job leads. I enjoy receiving emails comparing my skills and experience to those of the Job Description, letting me know if I would be a good fit early on.

Cons

Some positions are not vetted properly and scam artists manage to infiltrate leading to security issues, or a waste of time thinking it was a good job opportunity before identifying JD as a scam.

Monster.com was not providing the skillset I sought for my open positions. As a job seeker, I had very little success in finding positions with my own skillset or compensation desired.

### "Efficient sourcing with a big reach"

March 24, 2025

5.0

Overall my experience with ZipRecruiter has been positive. It’s a great platform for reaching a large audience quickly, and it’s especially useful when you need to fill a role fast or increase applicant volume. It may require more screening times then other niche platforms the visibility and automation make it an incredible tool in my recruitment toolbox.

Pros

What I liked most about ZipRecruiter was its wide distribution of the posting. It publishes your listing to multiple job boards with helps more people see the post without extra effort on my part. The candidate matching is also another great bonus as it sends me potential matches that best align with my post, saving me time. The platform is also very easy to navigate and makes it simple to track candidates in your pipeline also allowing for easy communication.

Cons

One downside was the volume of unqualified candidates. While it’s great to have a large applicant pool, I did find myself spending a lot of time filtering through resumes.

### "ZipRecruiter is AMAZING for job seekers and job post exposure but is not without it's flaws!"

September 25, 2025

3.0

It is overall easy to use, the customer support seems to be automated but it very helpful and suggests jobs to people based on type of jobs they are looking for which is helpful. Has great exposure for your job posting even weeks later, just needs to take into consideration the persons actual qualifications.

Pros

I like that it suggests jobs to job seekers. The way ZipRecruiter sends daily emails that compile a list of jobs that not only is tailored to the types of jobs people are looking for (office, warehouse, retail, trades in our case etc.) but also jobs that may have been open awhile not just job posts that are from today etc. Even a week or two into having a job posted on there, I have had candidates reach out saying they say the job suggested to them in their daily email by the virtual job assistant. Indeed has different tiers of "sponsorship" for jobs in which your job post may only be really boosted and suggested when it is fresh. Zip is always promoting your job! The value for your money is obvious with how long your job is getting exposure to the public.

Cons

Compared to Indeed that takes a candidates resume on file or skills and experience inputted into the site-then suggests jobs to them or let's them know you may be a good fit or you are lacking the qualifications or background for this....ZipRecruiter suggests jobs to people based on jobs they have searched for but may be extremely underqualified for. I have not hired one person in the past 4 years off of ZipRecruiter because I am looking for Plumbers and Drain Cleaners or Water Damage technicians and all I get is applications from waitresses, pizza makers, retail but no one with relevant hands on experience like HVAC, Plumbing, Construction, Contractor, Landscaping, Handyman etc. I don't know if they use an algorithm but if they do it is way off.

Alternatives considered

[Indeed for Employers](https://www.capterra.com/p/161381/Indeed/)

Reason for choosing ZipRecruiter

I use both because they are opposites when it comes to what they are good for and bad for. Zip is great for exposure and promotion of your job post but Indeed is the one that actually gets you relevant people applying.

### "ZipRecruiter helps put our job listings together"

January 12, 2026

5.0

Pros

ZipRecruiter helps us put together job listings and sort through candidates better than the competition.

Cons

Not sure how much of this is ZipRecruiter's problem, but the candidate pool is not what it once was and I feel a lot of it is because of the way hiring companies have become dead-ends for applicants

Plesant and the customer service team was on point which in my eyes can make or break a program like this in the HR function.

Pros

When you purchase the program and the full suite you typically get a great return on your investment but if you use an abbreviated version it isn't worth it.

Cons

At first we did the cheaper route and it was not what we needed nor did we have the ability to get the full function. Over all it is very similar to Indeed.

### "ziprecruiter gives you fake applicant and/or unqualified ones"

September 3, 2025

1.0

terrible wast of time and money. Did not have 1 qualified applicant! looking for automotive tech and get only unqualified applicants.. even called one and he never even heard from ziprecruiter!! go figure

Pros

no pros! the most unqualified applicants I have EVER received! Ziprecruiter charges no matter what and with no accountability!

Cons

most unqualified applicants EVER!! they just charge because they can... ask for automotive tech and get applications from fry and walmart employees, from Pool service techs, from sign fabricators, from KFC employee... and the charge is about $800 a month depending on your plan... and I had a premium plan!! BS! This is a data collecting company who uses fake info to lure people in and then charge them as much as they can!! Take my advice use any other site (even indeed did better with their flaws!)

Switched from

[Indeed for Employers](https://www.capterra.com/p/161381/Indeed/)

just to see if the grass was greener on the other side.. and indeed is (even with their flaws ) better than ziprecruiter with clear pricing and better (more qualified )applicants

### "Good for the basic web veiws "

May 23, 2025

I found zip recruiter to be no different than any of the competition, but they seemed higher pressure - we had no successful hires from any extras purchased with Zip. I think it's good to post a job as many places as possible- but I think the extras Zip offers are not worth the money.

Pros

Zip recruiter likes to give you a one on one sales associate to help you set up your account and get your jobs posted, they will even help you create job posts, for an additional fee.

Cons

the high pressure where you always have to pay more for an add-on to feel like you have any chance of getting a new hire

### "Zip Recruiter"

August 7, 2025

My overall experience has been positive. As a small business we utilized the Zip Recruiter several times when other ways of finding quality applicants was not effective.

Pros

Email communication, data management, employee management, ease of use, customer support, recruitment process

Cons

Overall The biggest con of zip recruiter is the cost. Especially in a small private owned business and hospital.

### "Not One Viable Candidate"

October 30, 2025

3.0

I would not use it again nor would I recommend it to anyone who is an employer. Perhaps it's better for jobseekers?

Pros

It was easy to use. That's the only thing that I like about it. But I am required to use 100 characters.

Cons

We did not get a single viable candidate. We were looking for a concrete foreman. The rep changed my deal breaker question from "Do you have a minimum of 5 years experience as a concrete foreman?" to "Do you have a minimum of 5 years experience as a concrete foreman or similar lead role?" Carpenters are NOT concrete foreman. The manager of a Staples is NOT a concrete foreman. The people who responded were completely unqualified. But it appeared we were getting a decent response until you actually looked at who was responding. And I reached out to several people. Much less than what we were allowed because there weren't any viable candidates. Not one response. And we pay well. It was a complete waste of money. No better than Indeed. Which is no good at all.

### "ZipRecruiter - not what it use to be..."

April 22, 2025

2.0

Overall experience with ZipRecruiter has been subpar based on the issue of upcharges as well as having to speak with a rep on the phone to stop or cancel a job posting. All other job boards allow me this option without waiting on the phone for a rep to cancel a service and trying to upsell.

Pros

I've used ZipRecruiter to advertise job openings for several years. I must say that the quality of applicants has decreased in the last few years.

Cons

The cons of working with and posting jobs on ZipRecruiter is the upcharge for all the small things such as highlighting the position or adding veteran info

ZipRecruiter is one of the employment websites that are company has used for looking for new employees and it streamlines some of the process for employers looking to hire.

Pros

Cons

ZipRecruiter doesn't always have the best matching of job posting to the candidates. It also doesn't have the smoothest posting process.

My overall experience with ZipRecruiter has been a good one. Whatever I needed for my agency to educate children with special needs birth to three such as Speech Therapist, Physical Therapist, and Special Instruction Therapist. I was able to find therapists in all NYC areas. ZipRecruiter was the answer to helping my agency be successful.

Pros

How easy it was to find new employees to fill all the positions that were needed to help educate children with special needs. Our agency was able to staff all the positions needed. Because of the ZipRecruiter website it was easy and quick covering all the positions from therapst to office staff.

Cons

Overall ZipRecruiter has been a successful tool for our company. We have found, interviewed and hired extremely reliable candidates using this platform

Pros

Easy to use! We also like that we were very well inform when we onboarded to have the knowledge on how our job postings worked and how to get the most reach with our postings.

Cons

From time to time it feels like one post doesn't gain a ton of traction but another will and understanding where we got the most views on a job posting would be a very helpful resource.

I would highly recommend, it isn't a top preforming platform for no reason. Is efficient with job postings and engagement between internall and external. Helped to capture larger audience as mentioned before.

Pros

Very well know application I think Zip Recruiter is great at capturing a larger audience for job posting. Very active and positive engagement from all users. User friendly for candidates as well as internal teams.

Cons

Pricey, the name is worth the investment and helps with reaching a wider audience. Some minor glitches with edits to job postings. Support team helped with all out issues.
