### "Charged me - then said I was "risk", terminated no refund!"

So I signed up for this software a month ago and had fun trying it out. Everything checked out. When the trial ran out, I purchased a month for 55$ and filed an insurance claim on 2 appointment dates for a patient. Later that day, my son added his Chime account to the Online Billing setting of our control panel, and it said we were verified. The next day, we received an e-mail saying our account was "under review", and today we got notified that our account was being terminated with no refund. These people didn't even give an explanation.

Pros

Simple layout and easy to use design.

Cons

Terminated me for no reason, and refused to give a refund.

Cons

Simple practice does not have many cons. I would like an easy feature to send the pharmacy preference to patients.

The Wiley Treatment Planner option makes it easy for clinicians to incorporate evidence-based goals and techniques in their work.

Cons

The cost is a bit high, and you can get many similar features, like formatted notes and scheduling options, on other platforms.

Pros

The ability to have HIPAA complaint all in one site such as, saving contact patient information, insurance, billing notes, etc.

Cons

Too many clicks at times that could be changed by having a pre saved note to modify by current session. Cost.

Overall it’s my favorite ehr platform because it’s so easy to navigate.

Pros

User friendly, the templates are helpful and easy to use, telehealth feature, and I like how the goals from the treatment plan show next to the progress notes.

Cons

I can’t think of anything I dislike. Sometimes the connection on telehealth sessions is poor, but that is likely not a issue.

It was a really great starting HR when I was billing insurance and didn’t have many other needs beyond that and charting. Now I need something a little more robust so I did make a switch.

Pros

It truly was simple to use, especially the insurance billing integration

Cons

It didn’t have a lot of additional built-in features that other EHR’s have such as integrated faxing.

is nice clean tool for my solo therapy biz, sets my sessions and notes all lined neat.

Pros

Booking is drag‑drop style, intake forms shoot to client auto, and billing links to reminders so I forget less.

Cons

Only thing is, video call gets choppy some days and support replies not always fast, plus reports don’t break down data deep unless I export stuff outside.

My experience has been very good. Its very qucik and easy to use for my kids. It hekps me keep their appointments and bills due organized.

Pros

I really like how simple it is to schedule an appointment. I like that when i pick a day it lists all the available times i can choose from. Each step is qucik and easy so its not overwhelming. I also like that i can view all scheduled appointments and any invoices i have paid or need to pay.

Cons

Sometimes its difficult to get logged in using my gmail account. It doesnt want to click on it rather open and email to send.

Simple Practice is definitely one of the better mental health platforms I have used - it integrates a lot of different features in user friendly ways, makes documentation quick and easy, and it allows you to easily communicate with clients for services and necessary paperwork. However, I wish it would gather more analytics on clients, client insurances, assessments, and billing.

Pros

Simple Practice allows you to complete documentation very quickly and easily by toggling client information from prior notes and documentation in real time.

Cons

I would like to see more client data analytics available for providers.

I’ve been using Simple Practice in my chiropractic and acupuncture clinic for 5 years and plan to continue doing so for the foreseeable future.

Pros

Billing process for both cash pay and insurance claims, EOB posting, online schedule capabilities, patient portal, and the overall ease of use. There are a lot of document templates as well. The live can’t be beat for all of the features available.

Cons

Simple Practice does not integrate with my supplement/lab dispensary (FullScript). A fax feature directly from Simple Practice would be nice for sending chart notes when necessary.

I liked Simple Practice's product but by the time you add on all of the "extras" it gets really expensive.

Pros

Easy to use interface and nice features such as integration with insurances for claims

Cons

Customer service is not great (hard to get a real person who also then knows how to answer your question).

I don’t love the platform, but it works for what it is. It’s also more expensive than a lot of EHRs for pre-licensed individuals.

Pros

I like that it is good for the starting up clinician and that the templates are easily customized.

Cons

I don’t like how glitchy telehealth is, that there is not a lot of customization on the calendar screen and it can be readily confusing to someone who is trying to use the system besides just scheduling.

They have everything that I needed to get my therapy practice up and running, and feel confident about growing my practice from there.

Pros

I like that Simple Practice has all of the features that any mental health practice would need, and it can be as simple or detailed as the user likes.

Cons

Maybe the only downside would be that if I do want to get more detailed with income charts or expense reports, things like that, maybe there might be a small learning curve, but definitely a doable one.

### "Profit First & Monopoly Goals"

bought out my long-time EHR Luminello in 2023 and eliminated Luminello in 2024, taking over their customers. They offered Luminello customers a "special deal" with a "lower rate" for the first year. Upon looking up SimplePractice's rates on their own website, I discovered that the "deal" that they offered us was MORE than their regular rates, not a discount. They also consistently raise prices for their current customers at well above market increases and charge extra for very basic features that are included in other EHR's basic plans. I have also heard unfavorable things about their privacy practices (i.e., selling aggregate client data for profit). Finally, in 2024 they bought out Track Your Hours, including Track Your CEUs, another product that I had been using for years (for free!), and then proceeded to shut down that product as well. I assume they offer a similar feature in their EHR and did not want any competition. They seem to be trying to create a monopoly on all mental health related digital companies so that they can charge as much as they want.

Pros

I have had multiple dealings with , but (to be fair to them) my ratings are not based on using their EHR, but rather their business practices. I have nothing good to say about them.

Cons

Their focus on profit at the expense of ethics and customer/client satisfaction.

I was forced to make the switch from Luminello when bought out them out. I immediately switched to another EHR (Sessions Health), which I have been happy with (I also tried My Best Practice, but it wouldn't let me select Luminello as the product that I switched from).

Easy for administrative and practitioner use; intuitive for clients; less engaged in seeking out maximum coverage for clients.

Pros

Ease of use for the client to enter and update info. Also straightforward for administrative use related to billing and scheduling.

Cons

The nature of highly customizable tools sometimes comes with the extra work of identifying the settings that need to be adjusted to pull the desired data. For example, billing dates defaulting to the last billing period as opposed to client history. Also not as proactive in pursuing insurance coverage for clients.
