Pros

The client portal is wonderful. I can send clients a welcome email that gets them set up with the client portal where they can access all my office forms and complete demographic and intake forms that get saved into the account - no more repetitive data entry!

Cons

Some things are not intuitive, but after using it several times, I have figured everything out for the most part.

I was referred to Simple Practice by ZinnyMe and was happy I chose this Software over some of the others for several reasons. The pop up tutorials were very helpful to me as I am not that great at learning new software tools. I am still trying to figure out the insurance piece which was one of the more frustrating pieces of learning how to manage a new private practice but the Customer Service I received from Simple Practice went above and beyond. I signed up for an live webinar and then received a phone call from Fletcher at Simple Practice after the webinar to ensure I was supported every step of the way. I can't tell you how grateful I was for the phone call and the additional follow up. I strongly recommend this software to all clinicians for all of the reasons stated above.

I started using this because I needed to store credit card information and still be HIPAA compliant. I got so much more than that... So many things I didn't even know I needed/wanted! I love the automatic reminders, the client portal, the ease with which I can have my clients sign documents, the superbills and invoices are so convenient, and the insights are really helpful. It's also so nice to have the app as well. I just wish I had the option of creating a "fill in the answer" intake where I fill it out because I prefer to do my intakes in person. Other than that, it's a lifesaver and I love having everything for my practice in one place!!

Since the beginning of my trial month, I have been receiving supportive emails from SimplePractice that have streamlined my orientation to the software. My clients report a positive experience with the portal. I benefitted greatly from the video tutorials. I didn't really explore the other programs I demo'd because the outreach from SimplePractice made them the superior choice for me. 4 stars for now, I expect to upgrade to 5 after using the billing portion of the program.

The integrated billing, ability to personalize and customize forms and documents, being able to get client intake information submitted electronically before the first appointment, running list of to do's and reminders to keep me organized and on task are all wonderful. I like having the client portal and find that this product gives some structure and ease to all the behind-the scenes housekeeping that comes with running a private practice. Also, this product is currently cheaper each month than all the other alternatives that I was looking at, with more features that I care about in private practice as a sole practitioner. I am grateful to not be paying for the bells and whistles that a larger clinic would need, and deeply appreciate the affordability of this program.

This software is a time saving must have for clinicians who do not have a lot of time to be boggled down with managing the paperwork and schedules of a practice. You can access not only on the web but also through the IPAD and IPhone Apps. With a few clicks, you can schedule a client and update your records. You can even have your clients go on the web and schedule an appointment with you. In addition, I love how the calendar in the system integrates with your own calendar and sends a friendly outlook and reminders for the day. Finally this system is very, very user friendly so it is easy to adapt to your way of business.

It's so easy to use, and the fact that I can manage my schedule without needing someone to do that for me is great! I even have the scheduler in my website so my clients can do that on their own!

Cons

Nothing really - I enjoy it a lot! Haven't noticed any "cons" yet

Like learning to use any new software, there is a learning curve when you first start with Simple Practice. But once you get the hang of it, it really does make life easier. I am most impressed by how easy it is to submit insurance claims.

Cons

You have to really know what to click in order to get to the exact place you are looking for. This is sometimes frustrating and time-consuming but once you figure it out, it's much easier.

I was feeling overwhelmed with having to do everything for my new private practice but having Simple practice during my first 30 days, took some of the stress out of the situation.

Pros

I liked the having the ability to send intake paperwork via email.

The billing aspect is a bit complicated

Very easy - I love it.

Pros

I can have all my paperwork and billing in one easy to use location. It was legitimately the number one thing I was worried about and now I have been up and running for weeks and it was so simple.

Cons

Hmmmm still unsure about how to use the insurance on there.

I've been really pleased with Simple Practice so far, and very impressed with their customer service, user interface and how quickly they've added additional features. It has helped me minimize my paper trail significantly, integrate credit card billing quickly and easily and helped me organize my client files, calendar and made creating superbills a breeze. I love that they add new features all the time, and am looking forward to the client portal coming soon. Going paperless and being HIPAA compliant, with integrated billing is such a breeze.

Pros

I like that SimplePractice has notes templates that are easily tailored to my need. Billing is also easy and simple to create invoices/Super Bills.

Cons

It can take a little bit of time to navigate the menus; however, I found the demos provided during the free trial to be extremely useful in clarifying how to use/navigate the program.

Sometimes when you read multiple positive reviews about something you stop believing them. In this case they are true. The interface is beautiful and sensible. The customer service is responsive and upbeat. The only shortcoming is that this is a relatively new service and it is still being rolled out. However SimplePractice is really the next step in practice management cloud based software.

My therapists and myself have had repeated issues with broken links, sudden changes from say CST to EST and unknowingly missing an appointment.

Pros

I haven't liked much of anything about simple practice as a client

Cons

Timing issues, link issues, missed appointments due to both.

I'm building a private psychotherapy practice because I love being in helping relationships with people, not because I love documentation and billing. I was falling behind with my patchwork system of spreadsheet accounting, creating my own pdf statements, and word doc progress notes. I wasn't even totally confident in my data security. Tracking billing and payments in SimplePractice is a breeze, and I love how easy it is to generate and send statements and superbills. I also love how seamlessly it's integrated with my documentation, and I feel confident that the good folks of SimplePractice keep my data private and secure. The system is clean, easy, and robust, and more tools and features are on the way. I'm looking forward to group practices and group therapy features!

I've been working in private practice for 8 years, and have been slugging along using Word and PDF's for all my practice management document. Then I tried the 30 day trial of SimplePractice - it was so easy to get things switched over - and so simple to make my SimplePractice calendar sync with my iCalendar. I've got my SP set up to allow online scheduling - including having clients put a card on file when they schedule. It's made charging for late cancellations and no shows so much easier - and clients are loving the online scheduling option and receiving their practice documents via their portal. I'll give it 5 stars when clients can schedule sessions with different lengths (right now I can only pick one default length of session). Hopefully that will be coming soon.

My favorite feature is the ability to write my progress notes online and still meet HIPPA standards. I also love that I'm able to easily track payments

Cons

I wish the software had an iPad app. I'm sure one is being developed. But that's pretty much the only con.
