I am new to private practice and, frankly, every penny counts these days. I, like a lot of therapists, am great at the people part of my job. The organizational part of my job is what gives me a headache. Simple Practice truly lives up to its name. It simplifies all the parts of my business that require organization and record-keeping. It keeps my calendar, billing, notes and treatment planning simple and organized. It reduces the amount of time I spend doing paperwork and frees me up to focus on the part of my business that I love--doing therapy with clients! Simple Practice is worth every penny--even at a time when pennies are in short supply. I cannot imagine launching my new business without it.

### "Excellent User Interface"

Pros

I like the user interface best, especially as compared to similar software. It's easy to navigate each area of the website. Additionally, each aspect of what Simple Practice offers takes much less time to use than if I were to do the tasks on my own. Specifically, having invoices created in no time is especially useful.

Cons

My least favorite part about the software is that I cannot create an appointment in iCal and have it upload to Simple Practice.

SOme of the billing seems difficult but I haven't had that much time to play with it.

### "Should have done it sooner "

I love the way the programs is set up so my clients can receive reminders for their appointments. Also, loved getting an email every morning indicating my schedule for the day. The lay out of this system is helping to keep all my notes daily so I don't have to invest additional time on the weekend catching up with notes or submitting bills. Thank you very much. Then only thing I will like to see in the future is the opportunity to get help on the phone.

Simple practice takes the frustration out of record keeping. It also allows the clinician to email intial documentation via the client portal!

Pros

Simple practice allows you to schedule your clients and customize your templates. The system also sends daily reminders of your schedule.

Cons

The system is not intuitive. In the beginning, I found it difficult to navigate the systems. I tried the tutorial but, they did not provide the help I needed.

Pros

I like that the software is user friendly, as well as visually appealing and offers advanced features that other similar products did not have when I was looking into an EHR (i.e. 2 way sync, completely online intakes).

Cons

Though it is generally user friendly, sometimes I find things aren't located in entirely intuitive places. Also, found the editing documents part to be annoying. Something as simple as getting the spacing to look accurate took a long amount of time.

I decided to go with SimplePractice after reading and reading lots of reviews of other client management and billing systems. I just opened my practice and so far I have loved SimplePractice. It is incredibly user-friendly. I do not use it for insurance billing as I only accept cash. I love the text and email reminders to clients (some other programs bill for that separately). I am not sure if I would continue to use SimplePractice if I were billing insurance as I believe it is more expensive then other programs (I would have to research this, but it is what another area therapist told me). Overall I am very happy with SimplePractice and having the phone app is a huge bonus too!!!!

I just signed on as a customer of Simple Practice. I used the 30 day free trial. I used all the features, challenged customer service, and attended a live webinar. I was very, very pleased. The system is easy to navigate and is very straight forward. No tricky clicks or key combos to get stuff done. It has great features to support a solo practice. Love it! The customer service response is very timely and efficient. Everything in the system is found through the calendar, which is great for me because I was operating completely off a paper planner so the transition is easy. I love the request a feature board. The company is focused on improvements and upgrades that the customers want. Thank you!

I am just about to start my own private practice. When I surveyed colleagues who have been successful in their private practices, several of them recommended SimplePractice. Running a business is way out of my comfort zone, but SimplePractice is helping me to feel more confident. So far, SimplePractice has been very responsive to my questions and the training videos are well-done and easy to understand. I still have a lot to learn but I am on my way!

I have been using Simple Practice since September. It is very easy to track clients, enter notes and keep track of billing. There are a few downsides that do not outweigh the benefits. It can sometimes be frustrating because the program seems to "do it's own thing" when scheduling appointments. I will try to change the CPT code or the amount for a session and it won't change it in the system. I am sure they are working on these glitches, so overall, it is great! I would also like to see the ability to go in and change the aesthetics of the bill summary (add and take out information as needed). I have been unable to figure out how to do this, so it might just be me that has this issue!

Easy to put all of my documents, forms, receipts, notes, etc. in one place.

Pros

My favorite feature so far has been the ability to create my own documents and forms. The customer service is also pretty great. I had a few questions about creating the questions I wanted to an intake assessment. I scheduled a 15 minute Skype meeting and all the questions I had were answered during that time. I have no doubt that this is a program I will continue to use for a long time.

### "speech-language pathologist"

Pros

This software appears to be straightforward and comprehensive. I like that I can put more effort into growing my practice and lesson planning instead of organization and privacy concerns.

Cons

As a speech language pathologist, I feel a bit like a blacksheep as the correspondence and community is mostly geared toward psychologists. However, it seems to fit all of my needs.

I've had a positive experience with SimplePractice thus far. The number one reason I chose this EHR over others is based on reviews from other therapists. I didn't want to try several different ones before deciding so I just took a chance with SimplePractice and glad I did. I like that I can document from anywhere, including my phone. I am not limited to just my office, as I was when I was hand writing my notes. I also like the email reminder because it saves me time and the risk of forgetting to send the email to my clients. In addition, I like that I can scan multiple documents. It's fairly easy and reliable. I would recommend any therapist to at least give it a shot for a month!

It provides instructions for each area that I use. I think, so far, I love the calendar the best. My clients are grateful as well.

I'm just getting started but I appreciate the HIPAA compliant messaging. This eliminatesy need to pay additional money to encrypt my emails since I'm a mew business and don't have much capital to spend!

Pros

The ability to customize my note templates and forms, and that the homepage opens to my calendar.

Cons

There is no integrated fax system for me to be able to send/receive documents in a HIPAA compliant way with insurance companies or other healthcare providers. I would love to see that included since some competitors have figured that out.

I’m excited to use the secure messaging option as well as the secure video session option.

Pros

I’m very new to Simple Practice. I loved the option of the free trial and have just upgraded my account. The emails have been helpful in knowing what is available and how to access what I need.

Cons

It didn’t feel user-friendly to upgrade from my I-phone. I wanted the professional option but only the Essential would load. I had to use my computer to upgrade. It took more time and was not convenient.

### "A more efficient practice"

This has enabled me to safely and securely gather and store all of my clients’ information and has made me a much more efficient therapist.

Pros

I absolutely love the customizable notes templates and the paperless intake! And free appointment reminders!!

Cons

I would like for my clients to be able to share documents (like copies of insurance cards) through the client portal. Also, I just upgraded my account from a free trial and I’m very upset that I lost the last 14 days of my free trial because I was an early bird.

The 30 day trial allowed me to really get a handle on the program. Scheduling, client portal, notes, billing are all covered and it's been a great asset as a begin a new practice as a sole practitioner.
