### "I am new to private practice and am turning toward SimplePractice"

I choose SimplePractice to build, organize, and bill insurance for my new private practice over TherapyNotes which all my colleagues are using because of it's design, mission, capacities and customer service to therapists. I am excited to use it, unlike everyother EHR which is outdated and too cluttered.

Pros

User friendly face and easy to understand video instructions!

Cons

So many functions to learn. I am wanting to plan ahead to bill insurance and get started with insurance companies, especially Medicaid, but as far as I understand, I am not able to do so until I have clients.

Pros

I really like how everything auto populates into your clients information after completion of intake forms, and I like the comprehensive nature.

Cons

I wish there was a client app that they could use, and I wish you could do the secure messaging on the phone.

Overall I have loved my experience with SimplePractice! I would absolutely recommend it to other providers and look forward to continuing to explore how it can work for me.

Pros

Very easy to use and get set up. Love how comprehensive the features are for the price. Also like how you can customize so many templates, but also have some pre-made templates to get you started.

Cons

Wish that there was a better way to administer some standardized measures or simple assessments that could be captured in patient's chart.

I have worked with other programs, but it is not as streamlined as SimplePractice. Personally, I highly value organization and efficiency. SimplePractice has features that promote just that, from writing notes, to scheduling appointments, to easy accessibility on your Smart devices - everything is in one place. Not only is it efficient, but it is eco-friendly and affordable. I no longer have to worry about purchasing file folders or storing files. I have used other programs before and I chose SimplePractice because it was user-friendly, affordable, and (just that) simple!

Pros: Mac compatible, intuitive, customizable, yet not too complicated and "busy" like many of the other options I looked at. Cons: A tad more pricey compared to others. I have a small part-time practice so the cost benefit ratio may be off kilter a bit, but hoping as I expand the cost will be less of an issue. No phone support is also a drag, but they have been responsive via email.

My goal was to go as paperless as possible this year and this program hit the mark. I like the look of the interface, general ease of use and responsiveness of customer service as I adjust to a new way of doing business. There is a time investment during the transition but I know this will actually save quite a bit of time as I move forward with this style of practice management. I appreciate the continued efforts to improve the program as therapists report needs and request changes. Additional pros include an app for your smart phone and a client portal. So far I'm sold!

SimplePractice saves you time, organizes your client interactions, and relieves you of any anxiety that you may have forgotten some important task. It provides the scheduling and appointment reminders that other scheduling software provides but adds so much more. It calculates and allows you to send invoices and statements like a virtual accountant. You can write progress and therapy notes and a detailed initial assessment using SimplePractice templates (updated for DSM 5). Easy to set up and use, great support and, even better, constantly improving. Highly recommended.

I just finished my 30 day trial and was ready to take the leap, so I signed up for the basic plan. I have really enjoyed the ability to take notes electronically, update payments, add client info including credit cards, and the use of the calendar/reminders. I can't wait to see what else this software does for my practice.

I have a small private practice and was looking for a way to have my notes stored electronically. I looked at many different options and found this met my needs while being tailored to a therapist/psychologist. I have been pleased to find that I am using many more features than I had initially anticipated, including email/text appointment reminders, the calendar (which prompts for notes, treatment plan, etc.), and the very easy to use diagnostic coding and mental status features. I would highly recommend this service to any clinician looking to streamline their practice.

Pros - it is easy to navigate just with the little exposure I have experienced Cons - the schedules for trainings are inconvienent since I work full time in addition to my private practice. Evenings or weekends would be great.

The developers thought of everything, even features I didn't know I needed. Using this software has taken a big load off of my shoulders by simplifying data entry so that I can focus on the work I love doing. It also provides an easy-to-use system for clients that ensures we have all of the information we need to provide excellent service. At first, all of the features may seem a little overwhelming, but their customer service team is right there to help you every step of the way. Once you get the hang of it, you will notice how easy it is and how much time you save.

Simple Practice is just that...Simple. I have been using it for about one month and it has been user friendly and easy to navigate. I researched many other programs to manage my practice, and I feel like I made the right decision. PROS: easy to learn and use, the design and layout is neat and readable, billing is made super simple and streamlined, I can quickly do a note a progress note and update billing and calendar between sessions CONS: While there is a way to manage couples in the record differently than individuals, no way exists to manage families...yet!.

Pros

I am so glad that I started using simple practice. Feeling confident in the security of the product is a big deal in and of itself. In addition to that, scheduling and billing clients is super easy. I also love being able to send clients documents to fill out and the templates provided are very helpful and easy to make fit what I need!

Cons

I can’t think of anything that I don’t like about the software!

I have tried it for 30 days. I looked critically at many other programs. Are any of them perfect? No, but I felt like SimplePractice was willing to listen to ideas from their customers. I like the app on my iPhone. It is very attractive software application and I love the ability I have to put links on my website to the online scheduling.

I most appreciate the ease of billing, documenting, and the fact that the platform is moving with the field to include video calls, credit card payment, etc.

Cons

So far, there is nothing that I wish were different. Perhaps having a more discounted rate for the essential package would be nice.

I examined and scrutinized many online software programs when I was looking for a program to use for my private Pracrice. In the end, I had to limit my options to only one, Simple Practice. Not only do I like the many user-friendly options, I also like the reasonable monthly cost and the level of professionalism shown when I called for assistance. I am grateful. Thanks, Simple Practice, for making my life easier. Now I can focus on providing better Psychotherapy. Note, there are a lot more positive things to say. Simple Practice is just so convenient.....

I've only been using SP for a few weeks for one client, but so far I do like it. It definitely saves me time writing notes and I can see it being great in lots of other ways that I haven't fully utilized yet. I have had some difficulty figuring out how to utilize treatment plans or alternative progress notes as well as how to bill insurance. That said, I have not had the time to access all of the help available on the site, nor have I contacted customer service. I am confident that if I put in the time, in the end SP will save me LOTS of time in the future!

I like that it seems like a one stop shop for everything. It makes it easy (once I get the hang of it) to complete everything I need for a client.

Cons

I'm still struggling with billing insurance. However, I plan on viewing more videos. As well as participating in the live Q and A for insurance billing.

I just started using Simple Practice and I really like it so far. Everything is in one place and so easy to use. I plan on using it for electronic insurance claims but I haven't been able to try it out yet. I wish you could enroll in the insurance electronic claim submission before you have a client with that insurance to make sure it is all set up and ready to go.

The main reason was going paperless, so I wouldn't have to figure out how to lug around client files for 7 years or until a client is 25. The client portal was an added bonus. Almost overwhelming number of functions, so still plan on learning the teletherapy in case clients aren't able to attend session in person.

Pros

Good help and support for getting acclimated to using various functions which are extensive.

Cons

No options for paperless assements that require reverse scoring formulas such as DERS.
