### "The Gestures site is easy to use."

This software has streamlined our event process making report processes to our Board and Committees easier and better organized. Most of all the reports have helped us to determine how to make the event better from year to year.

Pros

The customer support is great and always available. The reports produced by the software are very helpful in making decisions for the future of our events.

Cons

Some of the functionality is a bit cumbersome as in changing labels for items that are "out of the ordinary" realm.

For the past two years, since utilizing the service, our revenues have increased by 20-35%.

Pros

Love the ease and user-friendly app. Also, our first year utilizing the mobile app netted us a 20 percent increase In auction revenue. Our guests love the option to bid two weeks prior to the event as well as sitting in their chairs during the event bidding on items.

Cons

There are no cons. This product is well worth the money! The system is easy to understand and operate.

Pros

Give Smart is always working to improve their software to keep up with the latest trends. Give Smart listens to the customer's needs and requests. The post event reporting gives us a great picture of our donors so that we can continue to make changes and adapt our events so we can raise as much money as possible.

Cons

It would be extremely beneficial to have mailing address required on all elements of the site. Mailing address is crucial to us in order to thank our donors appropriately. This year, the Give Smart team worked with us to help us collect addresses when our guests were registering for the auction online the week leading up to the event, but we would love to see mailing address as a required field for the registration process also.

Saved so much time before, during and after the event, gave us instant feedback on our progress, automated a lot of tedious tasks. Helped us raise more money!

Pros

Super easy to use, automated the most tedious parts of event planning and follow up. Saved me so much time - at least 20 hours on just the silent auction information sheets! Also, having an onsite staff member was absolutely amazing and reduced staff stress significantly. Also, we could see exactly where we were at during the auction with the dashboards - no guessing on how well we were doing!

Givesmart has helped us to run virtual events and campaigns more smoothly. The reports allow for very easy access to attendees and donors.

Pros

The Givesmart platform is fairly easy to use and intuitive. Customer service is very responsive to questions.

Cons

I wish there was more options for customizing text and layout within the pages. Adding photos takes a lot of playing with as they look different live than on the admin side. Also, the photo size limit is challenging. More customization of donation pages would be helpful as well as adjusting sizes of the pages.

Reason for choosing GiveSmart

The price was the main reason. The other companies offered more features for the campaign pages but money was an issue.

Incredible - friendly staff, beautiful and easy software

Pros

\- Clean presentation and good aesthetics - Great functionality and quick to respond - Encompasses everything you need to run a successful event! - Easy for the admin to upload/use/change items

Cons

My only complaint is that the staff person we purchased with the software did not make her flight for our event so we had to make-do with our own knowledge. However, GiveSmart compensated us for this issue and has been a great in helping to prevent that from happening again

Easy setup, quick additions, and edits, and instant results after the event. Great reporting is available also.

Pros

The software is so easy to use, from a loading standpoint to the night of the event. Changes made easily from the cell phone. Really good software.

Cons

I have nothing negative to say. I did ask to add a report that would identify items during our event that were at a certain percent under fmv so that could be sent out, but it's very good software.

The customer service at Give Smart was great. Whenever I had issues, placing a call to them was very easy and they were very responsive. Similarly, their on site staff for night of events were fantastic and super helpful - they made the service even more valuable.

Pros

I appreciated that the software provided most of what we needed to produce a fundraising event - most of what you need is there and very user friendly and easy to use.

Cons

It doesn't have 100% customization. I ended out creating images with fonts I wanted and uploaded them because some of the design features weren't as strong as I wanted.

The reports, how easy it is to look up what im looking for (a particular guest, an item, ticket sales etc)

Cons

There isn't a lot of flexibility in the event page site. I don't like that you can't easily see how many of each ticket type has been sold. There is no easy way to make nice looking bid display sheets.

We used it for an event we did online during the pandemic that was usually held in person. The process was streamlined and the support is exceptional.

Pros

This is easy to use as an administrator as well as our customers and other users on my team.

Cons

It is not the stated function of this platform but it would be great to have a CRM module to add on.

Reason for choosing GiveSmart

The name is one I’m aware of from colleagues and the functionality of doing online sales versus straight auction type of events worked better for me.

Overall I do like the ease that gestures brings to our events. We have worked with other software like bid pal in the past and I prefer gestures as they have easier and more fluid capabilities for what we need.

Pros

The ease of registration is refreshing. They have staff that assists along side our staff and have made event check in/out a seamless process

Cons

Custom reports are a little more difficult. The company was able to work with us and create what we needed but it would be nice if we were able to access the reports any time and pull info we need on our end instead of waiting for custom reports.

Easy to use and the onsite staff during our event were amazing.

Pros

It was very user friendly. The support staff were very helpful whenever I had a question. The onsite staff during the event were phenomenal and made such a difference at our event.

Cons

Sometimes it felt too simple. I wanted a few more options particularly around reports. The reports aren't the best I've used. I'd like them to be more reader friendly, instead of simply Excel exports.

This is a time-saving device for an auction team. Closing out bidding is an ease and done instantly.

Pros

The entry of the items, though time consuming, was all made worth it by how much easier the event became. Gesture turned check out from a logistical stress-filled nightmare into an easy, clean experience.

Cons

The reports available could use some upgrades. Item donations should be able to be listed on the same receipt as check out if the user is linked to save extra paperwork.

It is extremely easy to use. Customer service is super helpful.

Cons

Some of the functions of the website. Last year, we had a sponsor sign on at one level and then wanted to increase. We then had to create an account to add seats to a table. We also had trouble with assigning bid numbers.

It's very GUI, easy to use and manipulate. Reporting function is instant which is a plus. Simple enough that an intern can assist with alot of the inputting (which saves me time!).

Character limits for auction items could be longer. There aren't really any other things that i would change.

Pros

The best part of GiveSmart is the customization of each event. You are able to tailor it perfectly to fit your needs both virtual and in-person. I also, LOVE the customer service. They are always there to support and walk me through any problems.

Cons

I would like to see an overall donors list with gifts broken out my events. Also, as this year has shown the importance of virtual fundraising the text to donate platform in person is great but virtually can be confusing for donors.

We used Gesture for our main fundraising event. I believe it paid for itself with its silent auction mobile bidding functionality, but we would not get that kind of ROI with our smaller events, so it's too expensive to use more than once per year.

Pros

Communication during implementation was great. Excellent interface. Mobile bidding was a hit with our guests.

Cons

We'd use it for most of our events if the pricing wasn't on a per-event basis. We'd love to see a subscription-based pricing model.

Pros

The reports, the ability to learn as you go. Ease of use. Clarity and uploads. Ease of use for our donors. Mobile bidding has helped increased fund raising.

Regardless of the quality of the pictures we upload they are not good quality on the mobile application.

Pros

The fact that we have people there to help facilitate check in and check out was really beneficial for our event. It helped ensure that our guests would be paying by the end of the night and the extra helped also help take pressure off of our team to tend to the other auction logistics.

Cons

I think the fact that you cannot upload a picture with the quick add is a little annoying and sort of defeats the purpose of adding multiple items at one time since you still have to go back and adjust the picture.
