Pros

Easy to use and comprehensive from ticket sales, sponsorships, donations, and online auction. The support staff is also very good, knowledgeable, and provides support from pre-planning, to planning, and post-event.

Cons

Still limited in customizing certain elements, such as website elements and bid sheets, but is not a deal breaker!

Overall a great product--and so critical to a successful silent auction!

Pros

Text to bid and online auction capabilities. Bidders receive text messages when they are outbid on items. You can also set up instant purchases, text to donate, or purchase raffle tickets. You can now customize the online website to your organization or event colors, logo and information. Great customer support.

Cons

You do need to encourage attendees to register BEFORE the event, otherwise, it can bottleneck as people arrive.

We use GiveSmart for our annual live and silent auction. Their on-site are very professional and knowledgable.

Pros

We can easily set up online auction items. Bids are easily tracked within the system. Bidders can easily place bids from their computer or mobile devices.

Cons

Exporting a report with user data (email, phone, etc.) is somewhat complicated.

Pros

Something that stands out to me is the way you can track donations in real time and the donors in the audience can see the dollars they are raising to hit a certain goal during a paddle raise. It is generally easy to use and the customer service is great.

Cons

There are a lot of moving parts to the software and I sometimes forget where things are located. I wish it was a little bit more user friendly when editing posts for auction items.

Pros

When we had to quickly change our event from an in person to a virtual one , due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GiveSmart was there for us. Having a specific person here for us during these crazy time was important to our success our our event.

Cons

One thing that our donors had trouble with was the checking out process. After they input their credit card, they thought they were done. They did realized there was an extra step.

Packed with high quality features and capability to both manage online donations, auctions, event management. Comprehensive package to cover all organizational needs in one platform.

Cons

Cost was prohibitive for us to continue use. This would be a great platform for an entity with a larger budget. For a smaller NGO, there are more cost effective options out there. Do your research.

Silent Auctions are always such a beast. GiveSmart gave us an easy and reliable way to get this handled.

Pros

This was our first year using GiveSmart software for our annual auction. We have always had issues with software, and this year everything went off without a hitch! We appreciate that there were no issues with silent auction check out. We look forward to using it again later this year!

Cons

The only con we have really experienced with using the software at our annual event is that it keeps our donors on their phones for the first half of the event. They are less engaged in person when they keep checking their phones. We will also adjust our programming timing to help with this next year.

Overall we have had a very good experience and recommended to others for events.

Pros

Event management worked really well for us - both ticketing and auction. Automated receipts were great.

Cons

Overall the most frustrating thing was changing support person - not having a consistent reliable person when I started. It seems to have improved with my current customer support. Segmenting contacts for messaging could be better.

The ticketing and auction aspects of the software are easy to set up and change and it provides the guests at our events with a great experience.

Cons

Some of the reports are a little difficult to use and there should be a bit more flexibility when sponsorships are offered on line.

Ease of registration, implementation, overall ease for our guests and check out was super easy!

Pros

The ease of loading images and descriptions. Customer support and training was excellent as was on-site, day of support.

Cons

Character limitations on certain fields. It would have been helpful to have a comment about the fact that no decimal points should be used when entering dollar amounts in FMV, opening bid, etc.

Pros

How easy it is to use! I love that a lot of Organizations are using it so it's easy to understand when I'm going to other functions. Another feature would be that I could print all sheets for all the items . This is a huge help and time saver . It's also great to be able to call your manger at all times

Cons

Showing the value on all items or none . Wish you can pick and choose . I didn't like that the manger I spoke with wasn't at event . I feel like having someone you worked with should be at event not just anyone . Had a tough time with that.

I love that I can use this all all-in-one for an event. The best feature is the text-to-give as well as the live thermometer that you can use at an event to encourage people to help meet the goal!

I like the event page but I wish there was more options to customize and design the event site

Pros

Customer service! The team was very helpful in selecting the product that best fit our needs, and assisting us leading up to the event, during the event and follow up.

Cons

We ran into a couple small issues with the design of how the platform appeared to our users. For example, some of the options we selected on the back end were not reflecting on the display page.

Reason for choosing GiveSmart

We had used 501auctions previously and were happy with the services they offered so were likely to continue working the GiveSmart based on that, but we went with them ultimately because they were willing to work with our budget and the customer service was great.

Pros

The ability to send out notifications on silent auction readiness for bids. Dashboard is perfect when needing to know exact dollar amount raised.

Cons

Item sheets need some work on spacing and layout. No other real issues other than bid sheets. Once fixed there will be no cons.

In additional to the useful platform, the GiveSmart colleagues who provided guidance and direction throughout the planning process, and those who lent their on-site expertise at our event were invaluable. They were total pros!

Pros

GiveSmart was intuitive, even for someone like me who is a bit tech-challenged. Being able to quickly make changes and edit, in real time, without having to involve other team members was an enormous benefit - especially when dealing with sponsors and updating information. The support services were incredible, as well, and the GiveSmart team was well versed in their product, knowledgeable, and responsive.

Cons

Nothing! It was terrific and no concerns.
