Pros Fast to navigate, totally searchable, well organized, available as an app for mid-meeting checkups, with easily customizable access rights for various users and groups. Cons I would like file names to be easier to copy/paste. Long file names run off the screen and there is no view that works well to highlight (select) and CTRL+C. Review Source Kateryna T. Managing Partner Legal Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great product to handle a deal" September 25, 2020 5.0 Pros It’s hard to highlight something, as the overall experience was very positive. First, opening the VDR was really fast (few hours after my request) and easy. Account manager helped a lot and offered a trial so I could test the product before making a final decision. Also, I could handle everything remotely as they offer electronic signing of the contract, no need to go into complicated bureaucratic procedures. Functionality is so intuitive, they offered a training but honestly it was not necessary, I could figure out everything by myself. Document structure can be uploaded by simple drag&drop, so it took me literally just a couple of minutes to complete. Users invitation is clear, I did enjoy a bulk upload because I had quite a long list of users. I haven’t tried the mobile app, but I heard from several colleagues that it was very convenient. Pros Control of documents and data and ability to segregate access rights is excellent. Cons The interface could be better. It is not as intuitive as it could be, but quite decent and not terribly difficult to learn. fly-out video content could be very helpful. I didn't know about corporate restrictions which could block some emails, and frankly speaking, I expected that VDR providers would take care of it. I had to ask them to turn to their IT guys as there's no option to send direct links, only invite via the interface. Pros iDeals support answered my call and quickly sent me the instructions. The support during setup and during operation has been very responsive and professional. There have been very few issues and what issues there have been were resolved very quickly. Pros The software is relatively simple to use and has just the right level of functionality needed to provide good governance over the company board and exco meetings without over-complicating the process Cons The mobile apps are a bit limited in their functionality, especially in note-taking before and during a meeting Reason for choosing Ideals Virtual Data Room In reviewing the competition we found iDeals solution appropriate for our needs at a reasonable price. Although in some cases not as fully functional as some of the competition, their pricing model was more practical for small to medium business. Pros iDeals offer the ability to choose the exact permissions you grant to users, there is also separate subpermissions for excel files, which is a very convenient tool for managing work with documents. I also liked various security settings like the ability to establish password and SMS code for user access, protection documents from copying though Fence view, which create a physical barrier. November 26, 2019 5.0 Pros iDeals allows an admin to very quickly change permission levels at the click of the button. It is not at all complicated and very intuitive to use. What I liked best was that when a user's permission is limited to downloading a document and then it is enhanced to allow priniting, the files that were previously downloaded are autmatically print enabled and the user does not need to download the file again - it saves so much of time, effort and definatley helps when timelines are tight. The daily reports that are available to an admin is useful to see who is uploading or deleting what types of data and when. The audit trails are excellent, I cannot think of way someone could do something without leaving some sort of identifiable trail - excellent for matters that are highly confidential where data access is controlled. Cons In all honesty, I cannot place my finger on anything I dislike about the software. It is truly a great product. Review Source EM Emanuele M. In this case all the players were great: the application was intuitive and easy to be used, but we were satisfied especcially for the higher level of services as sales, support and post sales. Cons It's very difficult find a lack in every side of Ideals. But if you actually want users to be able to get in easily, you'd be best looking elsewhere. Spam blocking has made this almost impossible for users to receive invitations. Then they are instructed to "and @ideals and Ip address" to whitelist ... so then you need to get your corporate IT department involved and ask everyone you invite to do the same; so in this case, not really "ideal"s. Pros like the features once in Cons can't get users into the room easily. 100% of the users I've invited have spent lots of time trying to figure out how to get in, even AFTER searching spam to find the link.
