### "Strong Platform with Implementation Challenges"

Pros

is very user-friendly and visually appealing, making it easy to navigate. The platform offers a wide range of features with a strong emphasis on automation, which helps save significant HR time. Additionally, their AI functionality provides quick answers, enhancing efficiency and user support.

Cons

Since transitioning to just over a year ago, we have experienced several challenges, many of which appear to have stemmed from the initial implementation process. Our lead implementation representative left during implementation, which contributed to gaps and issues that we later had to identify and resolve with Paycom’s assistance. While most of these have since been corrected, the process required significant internal time and effort. Additionally, there was a feature or capability discussed during the transition that ultimately was not feasible, and Paycom did not honor the original expectation, which was a point of frustration.

### "Rushed Development, Costly Oversights"

I have been using for 10 years and have added almost every module. I often find issues that the average user would not recognize, however, are significant in impacting the company's compliance or finances. My experience often far outweighs that of my rep so I have had to spend a lot of time training them on things they should be helping me with. Overall, I like the platform. It eventually will do all the things that will benefit the Company. However, the process in getting there needs improvement. It seems Paycom rushes into developments and then jumps to the next one without completely finishing the first. Most specifically when it comes to how modules interact with each other. when there is a new development that impacts sections of an existing, we often find out the hard way if all things it touches are not reviewed. This has happened several times, resulting in very negative impacts.

Pros

As an employee and for a basic user, the platform works well and is user-friendly. The integration of modules helps to streamline and improve efficiency in processes, where things are fully reviewed prior to implementation .

Cons

As an advanced client user, does not meet expectations. Developments are not completely thought through before implementing and it creates issues that could be avoided if fully tested.

### "6 years in and still thrilled with the platform!"

Stellar. is user friendly and maximizing the employee experience is critical to successful buy in. Customer support is unparalleled. Paycom consistently executes system improvements that improve internal process and maximize operational efforts.

Pros

I implemented 5 client codes simultaneously in 2020. The implementation teams' support was outstanding and unparalleled in comparison with experiences with competing platforms. Flash forward to 2026, and we are still impressed and happy with the system advances and continuous improvement. However, it is the level of support that is the key differentiator.

Cons

The only consistent complaint I've had is that scheduled reports deliver to the client inbox inside , and cannot be emailed as an attachment outside the platform. I understand the security risk to PHI, but it would still be nice if used in alignment with user access inside the system.

### "Generally Pleased"

Overall, I think it is competitive platform and we're generally pleased with the functionality of it.

Pros

I don't think we've ever had any technical issues with it, and it works well. Our account manager is responsive. Some of the updates have been convenient, such as the ACH return tracker.

Cons

The design changes that have been made in the past few years have all been horrible. I suppose they are to make it more mobile friendly, but it causes so much more scrolling on the desktop versions. I find it hard to believe that HR and payroll personnel are using their phones to work instead of their computers. The fees are outrageous for past quarter corrections. The enrollments reports are lacking, and it would be nice to be able to pull data from multiple payrolls into a pivot table with a single report. I wish the interface was designed a bit better - some of the more used pages are hard to find in not intuitive places.

Reported issues are responded to and noted as fixed, only for us to find they have not been corrected (i.e., a recent update caused the New Hire Audit Report to now pull Administrator IPs over identified as Employee IPs). There is no other way for us to access this information, so we were left to download the data and find a workaround.

Pros

One system that houses all applicant and employee data. I was excited of the prospect of managing candidates and employees from application throughout their employment lifecycle in one system that includes Payroll and Benefits.

Cons

The inability of to talk to itself in a way that will carry an application (or multiple applications) into the offer and then the employee file, or to access the data that you know is housed in the system. Even when using the Advanced Report Writers I have found multiple times that I can't get to the information needed in a report even though it can be found on a display (i.e. the docid assigned to uploaded onboarding documents for the selfie with I9 is only available in the Supervisor signature, and in most cases our Supervisor's do not acknowledge those until the first day of class and we need to review them earlier on the onboarding team, and I haven't been able to find one other place where this information can be seen even though by logic you would know one has been assigned.) While it appears that Paycom makes an attempt to keep things simple, there needs to be more of an Admin/ Developer access that can be granted that would essentially allow access to all data even backend such as the aforementioned IPs and docids if needed.

My overall experience for the past 15 years has been excellent. Great customer service and now with AI, even better!

Pros

I like most everything about , including how it functions, the ESS, and all the government/compliance offerings, learning, background screenings, tax credits, the ease of payroll, benefits administration, expense management, E-Verify, COBRA, ACA, various reports, etc.

Cons

There is anything that I don't like in , as it works well with our company and we get everything we need in one place.

From implementation to utilizing 24/7 the overall experience has been favorable and I would highly recommend this software.

Pros

The HRIS software is above and beyond any others. The all-in-one platform has increased efficiency within the HR and Payroll departments and overall operational efficiency. It has been an asset to our core functions within those departments. Additionally, Paycom's customer service exceeds expectations.

Cons

The time consuming in-depth and methodical implementation was a comprehensive process but very much needed for a smooth transition. The con of implementation resulted in a pro due to efficiency and automation, compliance and data security, enhanced onboarding, and employee engagement.

We switched from ADP and have never looked back. It was clear from other company demos that was the right fit for us. Our employees have been very happy with it as has our Finance Dept. We would love to see some surveys asking us about the features we would like to see Paycom add.

Ease of use Data management Best product we reviewed, seamless with expenses Expense management easy to use for employees and Finance Dept Love that employees can now upload a medical excuse when requesting leave

Cons

Some thinks are cumbersome like Document and Checklists and PAFs. Would like to see an easier way to delete old information. Sales team sells products they don't understand. ACA process is incredibly cumbersome!

### "Platform Does Not Perform As Represented"

Their staff are polite and helpful, but even they struggle with the system. Their implementation staff will start to show us something, click in one place, and then say "that's not where it is" and move someplace else. When we expressed our concerns and asked that they be escalated, we got the same 2-3 people on the phone for over a month. There has been no traction and no willingness to acknowledge their product does not perform as the described in the sales porcess.

Pros

Initially, we were happy with the payroll execution and employee scheduling. Even that has become problematic now though.

Cons

The product was misrepresented to us during the sales process and four key areas that were table stakes for us have been nothing of what was advertised. We cannot process payroll as they told we would, we cannot get a functioning GL, their ATS cannot facilitate communication and cannot perform any scheduling functions, and seems to think employee onboarding begins at their start date, so we cannot facilitate any tasks or communication prior to that date. I want to emphasize, these were all areas we asked specific questions about in contracting process, and were told the product could do, in no uncertain terms. We even have in writing that they misrepresented at least one of the above.

### "Reliable System with Helpful Features"

My overall experience with has been positive, but it’s a system that is constantly changing. Some updates are helpful, while others can make everyday tasks a bit more frustrating. For example, the recent addition of multiple default groups in the employee group dropdown has made it harder to quickly find the groups I actually use. One area I wish was stronger is communication with applicants before onboarding. It would be helpful to send prescreening documents for signature after the application stage but before extending an official offer, especially when verifying qualifications. I do like the MyCom feature, as it’s a great way to share company updates. However, I wish there was more flexibility, specifically the ability to include multiple pages or longer newsletters, since ours can be quite detailed. Overall, Paycom is a reliable and useful system, but there are definitely areas where added flexibility and user-focused improvements would enhance the experience.

Pros

The system is reliable overall, with very few bugs or issues that impact daily use. Customer support is also very exceptional they are usually quick to answer phone calls and helpful in resolving issues in real time.

Cons

One downside is the document experience. Files often have to be downloaded instead of being viewed directly in the browser, which slows things down. Also, when reviewing documents (like PAFs and other documents), you can’t easily go back to where you left off, you have to restart from the employee profile and find your place again, which can be frustrating and time-consuming.

### "Average with Room to Grow."

Overall, my experience with has been average. The software itself has potential. There are hiccups and some things are updated on a delay. If communication can improve (see cons for details) I think a lot more development can occur.

Pros

I appreciate the use of dashboards. Dashboards make it easy to see all pending items, especially within a team of multiple associates. This allows any of use to check status at any time.

Cons

There are often times reports or sections within the system stop working. I have had multiple instances where a report I've been using for 1 year+ stops producing the content it used. Recently, after trial and error of multiple fields with our designated rep, we came to a conclusion that the developers changed something on the backend, impacting the given report. The other element that is a significant con, is the business structure and how they manage communications. Their process for communications starts at the top. They reach out the \[sensitive content hidden\] etc. when there are changes like a new sales rep being assigned to your account. However, unless your company is a small business, this is very inefficient. This results in the boots on the ground HR staff not being updated because executive management received an email communication that did not see. I understand wanting to include them from a sales perspective, but including all parties would be the better approach. That way the HR staff can discuss with their executive leadership and these communications do not get missed.

Overall, our experience has been very positive. We transitioned to over three years ago, and the results have consistently met or exceeded expectations. The implementation period was manageable, adoption across the organization was smooth, and the system has continued to perform reliably over time. Since the transition, we have benefited from improved integration, streamlined processes, and a more intuitive user experience for both employees and management. The platform has supported our operational needs without disruption and has scaled effectively with the business. Three years in, we remain satisfied with the decision and the long-term value the system has delivered.

Pros

The platform operates as a fully integrated system, which has been a significant improvement compared to our prior experience with ADP. Under ADP, each product functioned within a different interface and did not integrate seamlessly. In addition, ADP required multiple logins across modules, which created unnecessary friction and inefficiency. ’s unified architecture eliminates those issues. The system is cohesive, navigation is intuitive, and employees have had no difficulty using the portal. The timekeeping tools are particularly strong — robust, user-friendly, and easy for both staff and management to operate. From a configuration standpoint, the flexibility is substantial. The system allows for extensive customization to align with specific business needs. We have not encountered a structural limitation that prevented us from implementing a required workflow. Support has also been a meaningful improvement over ADP. The Paycom team is generally knowledgeable about the software and able to provide informed guidance. Overall responsiveness and product familiarity have been strong. Overall, the transition has resulted in improved usability, better integration, and stronger operational efficiency.

I do not have any material concerns or drawbacks to report. Overall, the transition has improved usability, integration, and operational efficiency.

Overall, we have been very pleased with the outcome of switching to and find that it has created an easier and more efficient workflow.

Pros

The Specialist assigned to our account is always accessible and quick to respond any time we have a question or concern. The ease of processing payroll sometimes feels almost too simple and having a one stop shop for everything from payroll to recruiting to onboarding, provides a more seamless process in HR. Our associates also love the ability to navigate the tool on their phones through the Employee Self Service portal.

Cons

Would love for more functionality in the accrual categories to define sub-categories of time within buckets like PTO to make tracking for reporting purposes based on state laws a bit easier to navigate.

Pros

Going on 16 years as a client with , I appreciate the support and the adaptability their platform provides to our companies. Being a management company, we support our customers on existing providers they have in place, which allows us to compare Paycom with their competitors. We are confident knowing from experience that Paycom is competitive in products and support while providing a user-friendly platform from our entry level employees, to top management.

Cons

I do wish there was better support for QuickBooks Enterprise integrations. We have been able to the General Ledger module to sync successfully.

Compliance tools and audit support are also helpful for ensuring accuracy and meeting regulatory requirements. From an administrative standpoint, Paycom’s reporting features are strong, and having a dedicated account representative makes issue resolution more efficient. Overall, Paycom is a solid solution for HR teams that prioritize accuracy, compliance, and process standardization. It works especially well in mid‑ to large‑sized organizations where employee self‑service and centralized data management can significantly reduce HR workload.

Pros

has been a valuable all‑in‑one system for managing payroll, employee data, time and attendance, and overall HR processes. Having everything housed in a single platform significantly reduces duplicate entry and helps maintain data accuracy across departments.

Cons

While the employee‑driven model reduces HR data entry, it also creates risk. Errors made by employees (missed punches, incorrect tax or benefit selections) often still require HR follow‑up and correction, shifting the burden rather than eliminating it.

So far my experience with has been great! Again, I feel like Paycom is a partner and not just a payroll processing provider.

Pros

has been a great partner for our company! First, it is very easy to use and if I do have questions, they are always available to help. So far communication and collaboration has been excellent! I have talked with them more in 6 months than I had with the previous provider in 5 years!

Cons

If there is any con, it would be price; however, it is still a great value for the service that we are getting.

Very positive. The consistent relationship with our Customer service rep, the ease of navigating payroll and benefits enrollment, has truly made this my favorite HRIS solution. The value we have received for the amount of money we pay is unbeatable.

Pros

I enjoy having a designated Customer service rep who I can reach throughout my workday. The lack in customer service was a major issue with our prior HRIS. I truly enjoy the year end setup that makes it easy not to miss anything when it comes to compliance. The ease of pulling a report is amazing.

Cons

Some of the setups within documents and positions are not as user friendly and easy to understand as other setups. I have had to utilize Customer Service before to understand what all I need to do. I don't work much within the recruitment side and also don't find it quite as easy to utilize as other sections of the program.

### "Every system has its wins and opportunities"

is great if you have the time, skillset, and manpower to customize and change things as they go. If you are in a situation where you don't have someone who can manage the set up, adjustments, and data auditing, it may not be the best system for you.

Pros

I like that is customizable and can be set up and adjusted at the client level for most changes. A lot of changes I've needed with other HRIS systems can be done and the step by step instructions in the help center are updated and actually useful. I enjoy the reporting and analytics as well.

Cons

Many of the customizations require changing items in multiple locations to work. Some things are clunky or titled in a way that is different than other HRIS systems so finding, locating, and understanding on your own can be quite difficult. Changes are multi-steps and sometimes require you change things in unrelated areas to work. I use the ATS daily. My number one request would be to have the option to decline an entire candidate instead of having to go through each individual application for a person you know you won't or can't consider for those positions - say previous employees, failed background checks, or lack of credentials like HS diploma or GED. I understand why, but applicants, especially those that apply via a sponsored ad on Indeed or other sites, not only cost us time, but also money and aren't even able to be considered. Getting to spend more time on good or possible candidates would make a huge difference in the time and dollars we spend.

I was the lead for our implementation. It was alot of work, but new it would be great. It has been an amazing experience and would highly recommend to any employer to use. I love all the trainings offered and my rep is ALWAYS willing to make time for me.

Pros

It's easy to use and understand. The service is amazing and my rep always responds quickly and helps make sure I understand the full process behind what I am trying to accomplish.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind. I promote every chance I get and have been very satisfied with the implementation and long-term care program. There is nothing I do not like about Paycom.

### "Easy to use time saver!"

has made my life as an HR manager so much easier. Payroll only takes moments now instead of hours. Nearly anything I want to accomplish in my position can be done in one place now! It's also allowed me to delegate tasks back to our supervisors, as they can access everything they need on their end as well through the app.

Pros

Everything on is quick and easy to do. Since the program uses one code for everything, it's very streamline and intuitive. I've tried other payroll providers in the past that were difficult to navigate and each task involved opening multiple windows. We were able to replace several programs with only Paycom. The app is a great resource, and our managers can use it on the fly in the field. They also have amazing customer service, when I do need help they respond right away, and offer advice and guidance on how to use the tools.

Cons

There's honestly very little I don't like, but one that that was tricky is it's VERY customizable. There are features that I was slower to use because there was a bit of work up front to make them do what I wanted. Once you put the time in to set it up though, it save so much time in the long run having your processes automated.

Overall, it's a great system to use and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality HRM program and service. I exclusively work on Payroll, and payroll is very easy to use in . It's consistent and I can trust that the system will work accurately 100% of the time. Any time I have thought something was "wrong", it was me misunderstanding how something worked.

Pros

has been a very consistent product since I've started using it. Generally, elements of the website do not change often, and when they do it's easy to adjust and move on. There are no massive changes or adjustments made to the product, and it's easy to use day over day. We have a customer service agent assigned to our team, \[sensitive content hidden\], and he's been wonderful. Any time I have ever emailed him for support, he consistently answers all of my questions and concerns. He doesn't talk past me and will communicate something to me in the way that makes the most sense to me. Reporting is really dynamic and I appreciate how powerful the Advanced Report Writer can be.

Cons

The site can be overwhelming to start with. A lot of options don't feel like they're in places that make the most sense. I struggled to understand the basic report center initially, and the advanced report writer can be a LOT to try and understand. Some of the options in the advanced report writer don't make sense until you generate a report with those selections to see what it pulled in. We've gone through two other customer service agents previously. They did their job ultimately but definitely did not give us any kind of confidence in the product. I did not trust much until \[sensitive content hidden\] was assigned to our account. 401k matches are not adjustable while creating payroll checks. This is a MASSIVE pain. There was a single update that took place that allowed us to edit the matches on paychecks, and then it was reverted or removed. PLEASE give that back. It is insanely frustrating that I can't see a 401k match calculation until I go to the check register preview portion of payroll. I should be able to adjust the item or AT LEAST view it to see how much is calculating.

Overall, my experience with has been very positive. The software is user-friendly, easy to navigate, and continues to improve with helpful features like IWant. Their customer service team is excellent and always quick to provide answers and support when needed. I also really value the relationship aspect of their service. Their traveling field agent visits us about every quarter to provide trainings, check in with our team, and discuss ways we can continue improving our processes. That level of support and communication has made working with Paycom a great experience overall.

Pros

What I like most about is how user-friendly the software is. It’s very easy to navigate and find what you need. The new IWant feature has also been very helpful because employees can ask their own questions instead of always coming to me as the payroll admin. I also really appreciate their customer service team. They always respond quickly and are very helpful whenever I have questions.

Cons

One thing I like least about is that some features can take time to learn when they are first introduced or updated. However, they do a great job providing training sessions and resources for new features, which makes the transition much easier and helps users get comfortable quickly.

Overall, it is easy to get a hold of a dedicated representative via email or phone; however, one bad representative can seriously impact the experience.

Pros

I think that the value of supersedes the price that we pay. I do think that the functionality on the backend is helpful. In general, very easy to use.

Cons

We have had some "wants" for a long time, such as automations that go outside of . There is not much that is available (e.g., 401k integration). We also had a few service issues where tickets were left open for nearly a full year, resulting in some serious tax implications. Not extremely customizable.
