September 1, 2022 2.0 Business professionals, please beware of #paycom, an "online payroll and HR technology provider" based in Oklahoma City, OK. Our 800+ employee business has used them as a vendor for several years and their customer service has gotten progressively worse. Recently, based on their reported human error and lack of knowledge about key employment tax issues, they filed an unauthorized (and grossly inaccurate) payroll tax return that has created a huge mess for us with the IRS. The MANY hours required to resolve their error is on us. Based on the continued terrible customer service we receive, I reached out to their \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] nearly a month ago but they've not responded. If you're considering a provider in this area, look elsewhere! Pros I an unaware of anything regarding this software or customer service that I like. April 24, 2019 5.0 Our previous vendor was built off bolt on modules, not products they developed. This vendor didn't allow for online signing of new hire paperwork, didn't have a built in electronic I-9, had separate time and attendance and PTO tracking. It became a full time job just to keep up with their time and attendance and PTO tracking. When we were shopping for new HRIS software we knew we wanted one system and Paycom was the only one we found that was truly one system. Since bringing in Paycom we have moved into the digital age! With all the efficiencies we have found utilizing Paycom we have been able to save on overhead and have maintained an open headcount for the HR department. Not only is the software top notch but we love having top notch customer service as well! Not only do we have a dedicated payroll specialist that we can contact for day to day questions and assistance but we also have a Customer Relations Representative (CRR) that is available for onsite training and overview of the system to ensure we are getting the most of the system and fully utilizing the products we purchased! Pros Paycom is the one stop shop for HRIS systems. From posting job opportunities, tracking applicants through the interview process, onboarding, and the entire employee life cycle, Paycom has it all. Just when you think it can't get better they do a monthly release that makes you go "wow!". They are innovative and always looking for ways to make the HR professional's life easier! Cons One area of focus I would recommend would be more content development in their new LMS module. The module itself is really user friendly but having content is the toughest part of building an LMS. Having more pre-built content would help utilize the module quicker. It allows you to keep up with your times, PTO hours, print off paystubs, and request vacation days all from your phone. No more filling out paperwork and worrying about it getting lost. Everything can be done from the app on your phone. Pros It's easy to clock in and out for your shift. You can clock in and out straight from the app on your phone. No more waiting in line at the time clock, no codes to remember, no fingerprints, just a quick tap of your phone. Cons It can be difficult to make a correction on your in and out punches sometimes. January 6, 2023 5.0 Paycom allowed us to perfectly control our databases, as the high-quality automation enabled us to keep the data updates continuous without interruption, and this led to the preparation of payrolls in the required time without any delay, and all other records are always ready upon request. Pros Paycom helps provide integrated solutions to build a comprehensive database of the organization's employees, and it also works to automate the implementation of operations, especially with regard to payroll, and also helps to find a variety of solutions that meet the requirements of the human resources department. I very much appreciate the intuitive interface of the dashboard, whether it is a web page or a mobile application, as it enables us to use all the tools and access all records and data with complete ease. Filtering and searching options within records are easy, as is reporting. Cons You can't hate Paycom, especially when you deal with their support team, as they are very responsive, and provide appropriate solutions with complete transparency. Pros This product has high technology and excellent ease of use. It is ever changing and improving to allow you to keep up with the latest technology. Paycom also will customize your product for your individual companies use. The customer support is outstanding and they are always there to assist you! Cons There isn't much I don't love about Paycom. They have outstanding support and walk me through each portion of the program. The only issue I have had with Paycom is not having the Back Benefits automatically calculated. BUT this feature is coming soon! Each product did not flow and work together. You were forced to enter the same information in each portion of the system. Their Tax filing services were terrible! Send 10 emails and no one can help or acts like they want to help. Pros Reports are pretty good and useful. But you have to train yourself. Cons Customer service is poor. Software is clunky and tons of stuff you don't need. Hope you never need to have an issue fixed. Not one person there knows anything other than to try and upsell you something you don't need. The dedicated specialist is very important to me and I can speak to them with any questions. With the other companies, my payroll account never seemed to be important or big enough with them and I was never able to get the help I needed. With that said, this made a situation where I had to figure everything out and make sure my filings were correct and on the correct forms. One thing I do not want to do is get messed up with payroll taxes. The other companies didn't seem to care if I was compliant and I never had a good relationship to rely on with their specialists. The costs associated with Paycom are also better than any of the above listed companies. Overall, Paycom is my HR Department and I am very satisfied. Pros The ease of use is the single best quality of this company. My payroll processing time has never been as effiecent or organized in my 18 years of having my business. I am on the site weekly and am very glad that I can process my payroll in a few minutes. I have w2 employee’s and 1099 contractors that I pay through my company. Having a tool that is easy saves me time and thus saves me money. The greatest asset that Paycom offers is their friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would be lost without my specialist. She is amazing. Once the payroll is complete, the reports are very easy to use and run so that I can keep track of all my expenses. It was Paycom's mobile app that swayed our non-profit organization to switch to the service. Pros It's a pleasure to use the job application form and module. Having the ability to see who has applied and when, as well as immediately clicking on their CV and cover letter, is a huge convenience for me as a hiring manager. Easy and time-saving: this makes the procedure very straightforward. Time card administration is also fairly straightforward. Cons ADP, for example, offers a variety of discounts and "coupons" in conjunction with their service. I can save money on hotels, vehicle rentals, and dining out by taking advantage of various discounts and advantages. Other than being charged quite a lot in fees and charges and having to reach out to support with complex issues it is a pretty easy software to use and maintains payroll records quite well. It is relatively easy to navigate as a manger and as a user. There is a lot of information available as an employee such as tax and benefit deductions, easy access to W2 forms and other tax information. Pros • Easy to monitor employees in and out punches and overall hours for the week. • Easily approve or deny time-off requests in bulk. Great calendar to use to monitor when employees have requested certain days off to avoid overlap. • New features allow managers to view, approve, or deny punch change requests that employees put in. It used to be an employee would have to email their manager to have a punch adjusted, now the employee can adjust it and it sends to the manager to approve. Saves a lot of time and error. • As an employee I can easily view all paystubs and see deductions. • As an employee I can easily download W2 statements for each year. Cons • Fixing in/out punches can be difficult. I don't know if it is a glitch, or user error, but when I try to add an in/out punch for a lunch break if an employee forgets to clock out, it sets it as an in/out punch for the day. December 5, 2019 5.0 When my organization switched to Paycom, I was one of the first people to learn how to use the system as a staff trainer. The process was quick and painless, and I was able to use the user-friendly interface to provide knowledge transfer to a wide variety of staff. Personally, I find the interface enjoyable as I manage my own time and benefits. I use the desktop application, as well as the mobile interface - both being simple and easy. Pros I have used other payroll/HR/Benefits applications, and Paycom has been the most useful by far. As a middle management end-user, I have found that navigating through the employee and client portals to be simple and efficient, which is something that is quite helpful in our fast-paced environment. As a staff trainer, Paycom is also easy to teach to our front-line staff who have a wide variety of experience with the use of technology. Cons I really cannot say that there is anything major that I dislike about the software. A minor aggravation can occur when you login to the application (we do not use a SSO) from a new terminal, and you must answer security questions with perfect syntax, lest you be locked out temporarily. June 30, 2025 4.0 Pros I love how easy it is to adjust when a mistake is made during clocking in and out. Since I work on projects with different funding sources, I can easily code my time appropriately to be paid from the proper place. The Paycheck Preview/Approval process is also like nothing I have ever seen in another payroll program. It is nice to know what is exactly coming. If my time is off because I forgot to clock out or whatever I can go in and adjust those problems. Their representative comes onsite once every few months to discuss any new updates they've made and check to see if we have any questions regarding the software. Pros Simplifies the hiring and onboarding process of employees from the moment an application is submitted all the way through their new hire orientation. Allows a manager to send out training, notifications regarding benefits etc. Has the ability to process background checks directly through the software which cost less than other background check companies. Cons Wish the candidate tracker and applicant tracker would communicate. You can turn an applicant to a candidate but you cannot turn a candidate to an applicant which makes it pointless to use the candidate tracker. Pros Paycom in one of the strongest financial programs I have used or monitored for visitors. It's also a great money and HR activity system. In turn, you can be clear enough to explore, if you know the procedures somehow. As a user, it is not difficult to log in to the application and application break. Cons I don't have many negatives to mention, the agile finances and clock scheduling that I have used to date have worked just fine.
