A cloud deployment would be great to reduce the cost burden. Pros Great control center for managing the different server configuration such as setting port numbers, users and authentication, Servlet auto reloading, etc. Excellent performance even on Virtual machines. Easy loading process of application/library WAR and JAR files. A great complete implementation of the J2EE platform. Used it mainly for testing secure SSL channels with JSPs and Servlets. Very customizable and performance efficient. Cons The cost is a major concern. With cloud integration by IBM this would be more manageable. Not much more features than that provided by Apache Tomcat or the J2EE Glassfish reference implementation. Definitely better performance with specific tuning of the JVM, but still the cost is a major factor. Cons Wir hatten diese Anwendung als Intranet im Einsatz und mussten diesen täglich neustarten, da es Memory Leaks gab. Man muss auch dazu sagen, dass wir diesen unter Windows im Einsatz hatten, was wohl eher eine Rarität darstellt, aber so eigentlich gar nicht zu betreiben war.Ein neustart der Plattform hat gut und gerne 40 Minuten gedauert in dem das Intranet damals bei uns nicht erreichbar war.Der Support konnte uns nicht helfen. I would say for java applications and security wise it's a great tool in the market.Our organisation is big so we were looking for such kind of tool only. It solves a problem of integration of front end and backend. Recommended tool Pros IBM WebSphere Application Server allows to integrate with other WebSphere tools easily and quickly. It is the oldest application running server to deploy or host java applications mostly, Also the documentation provided by IBM is pretty easy to understand and implement, customer support is also good. The best thing about it is it supports both on prem as well as cloud. Cons Cost is bit hight for IBM WebSphere application server so it is suitable for banking or big companies. Also if it provides videos along with documents then it will be helpful to beginners. Sometimes it tooks time to start the server. They are running banking application on it and we were never reported an issue after go-live. WebSphere is highly stable and perform really well on most enterprise environments. My overall experience with WebSphere is unmatchable with another application servers. Pros \+ Easy to install. (No complex implementation steps) + High stability (Never experienced an unstable situation ) + Can deploy as a microservice. + Larger community support and plenty of community resources. + Proper documentation from principal vendor. + Supports both On-prem and cloud. Cons +Even though the installation is easy, Configuration is quite complex. +Key management is not easy. +Patch management is little bit tricky , but manageable. Our check clearing system and online banking system is currently integrated with T24 via IBM websphere. Pros We used IBM webshpere in one of the biggest banks in Pakistan. T24 integrates very well with other ADC channels via IBM websphere. Managing the queues for different ADC channels in IBM websphere is very easy and we can easily debug the particular issue faced in an ADC channel transactions. Cons Customer Care service is a little slow and we dont have much IBM partners and vendors in our region.
