Pros Ease of use as I have only been using this software for 3 months and it is user friendly, the support staff are very helpful when I do have a question! Cons Would be great to be able to expand windows rather than using the scroll bars, or have multiple pages open. Pros It’s very easy to use and customizable. The onboarding experience far exceeded my expectations. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] was very helpful, he’s a great trainer, and was on time, professional, and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Cons Nothing. It’s the perfect software. Maybe more transparency in the startup costs. The website shows monthly rates but not the real amount you’re going to pay up front. The reason that we don't offer multiple timers to run at once is because we want to make sure that billable time is handled appropriately and with integrity. We would hate to open up the opportunity to accidentally bill client X for client Y's time. You can have multiple timers in your queue at once but only one can run at a time. Pros BigTime makes our life easier in tracking our tasks and time management. Also a great tool in scheduling and monitoring progress. It's also convenient because it can be used on a mobile device. Managers use the information we submitted to track project budget, employee performance, etc. Pros Bigtime has a comprehensive list of projects and labor types for us to choose from. Corporate Controller Used the software for: ### "Canadian EPCM using BigTime for timesheets and invoices - good product, doesn't handle GST/PST combo" March 30, 2016 4.0 BigTime allowed Keywest, a Canadian EPCM, to transition from timesheets in Excel and a cumbersome Excel Macro based billing process to an automated system. It saved us time and allowed us to better manage projects with more timely data. It made invoicing much more efficient and allowed us to cope with rapid growth and provide more info, especially billing amounts to the project managers. As the company grew, we started having trouble with reports timing out (costing reports, invoice generation). BigTime worked with us to solve this issue although it continued to occur from time to time as the data we entered into it continued to grow. The downside to BigTime is that I am unable to invoice using two levels of tax (GST and Provincial Sales Tax) at the same time. At this time, BigTime does not handle this. Once we needed to charge GST and provincial sales tax; it was also difficult to explain this to the Technical Support people. Their reply was "we don't do that" once I was able to explain the issue to them. That being said, if a business will not need 2 levels of tax at the same time, it is a good product for smaller businesses. Review Source ER Elioth R. August 11, 2017 5.0 Ease of tracking projects. Pros What I like most about BigTime is the ease of setting up and tracking a project and project budgets. Cons BigTime does not give the option of project leads approving their own time on their projects. Cons The Report Center can be confusing to navigate, and it would be great if there was a way (or at least, an apparent way) to automatically generate reports. February 25, 2018 5.0 Pros I have been evaluating BigTime and have found it very easy to track time and expenses. The resource allocation and revenue projection feature has been very helpful. Now I can easily see which of my staffers are being over- or under-utilized and adjust hourly allocations accordingly. The reporting ability is particularly powerful, allowing me to show my project managers how resources are being utilized on their projects. Even if you're not using all of the features, you can repurpose some of them for other requirements. It also doesn't try to incorporate every piece of functionality into one place - focusing instead/first on having a great interface that's easy to use and building on features. BigTime's support is also very available and responsive. Cons The only thing I wish it had was the ability to cross-tab report data by time period - all of the reporting is very customizable, but flat - if you pull data for a multi-month period, you can't organize the results by month. At least you can get the data and export it easily though.
