Pros: There are not a lot of pros to this extremely simple and basic software. As a small nonprofit just starting out, we thought kind of database would be useful, but it has such limited capability and is not user-friendly at all. There are much better products out there with much more capability and donation and social media integration.

Cons: Our experience with this company has been extremely negative and has caused a lot of stress and problem where it was not needed. While they provide adequate online support, as a 20-year advancement professional who has used many CRMs, this software and its capability is very limited. Our account manager and the CEO have also proven to be inflexible and unkind.   We received our renewal invoice 26 days before it was due after discovering Bloomerang was sending the renewal invoice to an employee of ours that left 3 years ago. As a result, we asked for a waiver for the 45-day cancellation clause because of the circumstances. We are a small non-profit and they would not even talk with us. After myself and my colleagues called 7 times to get some answers, I sent a contract cancellation letter outlining the lack of customer service by not paying attention to this matter. We were not happy that it took almost a week for someone to even call us back and that was because I wanted to cancel my service. They would not even discuss a resolution with us and were happy to seek legal action if necessary. We have canceled our contract but not after having to pay for a full year and on top of that Bloomerang had the nerve to charge a service fee because we canceled out auto-renew. As a small non-profit that helps alleviate blindness in the world, that actuates to 103 people we could have given sight to. They absolutely do not conduct good business and I will never use or recommend this company to anyone.

Comments: Bloomerang is ideal for agencies that are looking for a straightforward interface with the ability to customize fields and reports to your needs. Their social media integration, relationship tracking, and interaction fields takes our ability to get to know donors to another level. The import function, once you get the hang of it, is an incredible time saver. The ability to embed online donations via a custom Bloomerang form into our website has increased our online donations significantly. The program is continually improving and the customer service is excellent.

Pros: -User-friendly interface -Pretty easy for beginners to pick up -I love how you can make relationships between people (very nice to pull up a church and find out what volunteers and donors attend that church or go to that book club) and put people into households -The giving summary on the donor profile and dashboard is a nice visual. -I like the ability to create tasks (but it would be nice if they sent you email reminders for deadlines that are coming up) -The ability to create interactions field is very helpful to keep track of your communications, meetings, and other cultivation items that don┬┐t necessarily include a donation. -Custom forms, including custom donation forms make it so easy to tailor fundraising campaigns. -Very customizable reports and fields (we now use Bloomerang instead of paying for Volgistics to track volunteer hours) -Using Bloomerang stripe with our online donation page is fantastic┬┐Our online donations went WAY up from Paypal. -Great responsive technical support---we use just the online chats and emails and haven┬┐t found a need for phone support. -Love that this database is always improving. Our last one did not have that capability, so I think Bloomerang has a lot of potential. -Also love that it┬┐s cloud based---our last database was not. -You can link your Twitter feed to Bloom and it will automatically populate tweets that your constituents have tweeted, and it gets added to their engagement level. -I┬┐m using the import function for more and more things┬┐donation entry, mailing interactions, attendance sheets, volunteer hour tracking. Once you get the hang of it, it can save a lot of time if done correctly.

Cons: -Report formatting: All reports export to excel, but it only exports the table and information. It would be nice if it at least included a title (so you remember what you┬┐re looking at), and maybe a time and date it was run. -Reporting: The new reporting function is very powerful and you can pull great information from it. I do have trouble with how Bloomerang collapses each query. With more complex reports it's hard for me to remember each part of my query when everything is collapsed into a small -Multiple tributes/notificants (for holidays): You can only put in one tribute per donation right now. -They need a much better way to input tributes and they also need a way to track and send acknowledgements to people: The honor/memorial function is currently the worst part of Bloomerang┬┐it has a terrible, backwards work flow and a major oversight for nonprofits that process a lot of tribute gifts. Although you can add a ┬┐notificant┬┐ to a donation, there┬┐s no way to actually send letters to notificants through the letter function. We┬┐ve created a process to notify honorees and notificants manually that works great, but that┬┐s something to keep in mind for folks that process a lot of honor/memorial gifts. -Special note if you go through the conversion process: When you add a new constituent, there┬┐s a field that Bloomerang populates a date called ┬┐Created┬┐. However, when your data is transferred, your original Created dates (if it was tracked in your previous system) will be lost and they┬┐ll all be put into Bloomerang as the date the data was transferred. Bloomerang needs to keep the integrity of the original "Created" date of constituents OR create a custom field to place that information so you can run future reports. [There is no way to use the import feature for us to go back and add this information in, so volunteers are adding it for us]. -Task list: I┬┐d like the task list to show more details to help you know what the task is, and send email reminders. Right now you make a task and then forget about it. -Letters need to export to word instead of a PDF. We have a pdf editing software here to get around that, but would like to keep our Family House fonts and make minor changes if needed, etc. -Need a way to catch duplicate records (either with a report, or alert if you're entering an address that's already in the system)

Recommendations to other buyers: Take advantage of the conversion process to clean up your current database (are there any fields that you can combine, are there any data inconsistencies that you can fix). The only issue we had when we converted was when all entries into our "Date Constituent Added" field changed from the date we entered the constituent into our system to the date that we imported into Bloomerang. We had to go back through with a custom field and manually re-enter all "constituent add" dates. The customization ability is great, but as a user be careful to not get it too cluttered!

Pros: I came into a new position and when the company mentioned their donor database it was like they were caught up in a hostage situation. They were stuck in an expensive contract with something they barely knew how to work with. A key component of my hire was that I knew how to work with this big, aggressive, expensive system. What a backward way to think! I had always heard of Bloomerang thanks to their presence at conferences, webinars, and experts. To move to a simpler system meant more people could use this tool. So what do I like best? Bloomerang became an effective tool so that more than one person could use the system. Increased functionality meant we could accept online donations and training people became a cinch.

Cons: Bloomerang is an excellent tool and I can't see any areas for improvement. One feature several users including myself have requested is currently in development. So Bloomerang listens to their users to offer solutions and keep the platform moving forward. They are patching the holes in the roof and doing the maintenance needed- not making you buy a whole new house to get upgrades.

Comments: We are a small shop non-profit and because of Bloomerang's affordability, we have been able to transform our fundraising strategies in ways that we could have never imagined. With only three individuals working on the administrative side (Development Associate, Administrative Director, and President & CEO) and needing to raise just over a million dollars each year, we are dependent on the services that Bloomerang provides us. The customer service team is unbelievably amazing and each and every question is always answered in a timely manner. Each rep takes the time to explain WHY and HOW certain steps are important so that you actually can grow and learn. We just generated our year-end appeal mailing list and on our old reporting program, it took running several reports and then using formulas in excel to remove duplicate records. Countless staff hours used to go into this endeavor but because of Bloomerang and the Bloomerang team, we have our most carefully curated and hand-selected year-end mailing list that we have ever had (at a fraction of staff time nonetheless!) Our team chatted with the Bloomerang staff for 5-6 hours and they answered EVERY SINGLE question. We went from spending 30-40 hours creating this list to no more than 10. For this, we are incredibly grateful. The reporting features have enabled us to better direct our fundraising endeavors and we can send targeted mailings with tailored asks based off of future giving capacity. Our acknowledgement letters have an incredibly fast turnaround time and this simply was not feasible when we were still using our previous database. The ability to add interactions and notes to our donor profiles have helped us form a better understanding of our constituents and have provided us with the opportunity to develop deeper relationships with our donors. We also love that our online donation forms can sync with Bloomerang so that we are able to quickly detect whose given to us. The layout and setup of the system is so simple that we can easily have volunteers or interns hop onto the system to help us clean up our database or add constituents. Going back to our earlier point that we only have three people working on the administrative side, it is so important to us that our system is easy enough for other individuals to be able to work on. Bloomerang came to our rescue and I firmly believe it is one of the reasons that this has been our best year to date!

Pros: Ease of use, reporting features, capacity to add custom fields to constituent records, affordability, ease of generating acknowledgement letters, simple and easy--to-use email templates, online donation forms syncing with database

Cons: None (no really!)

Recommendations to other buyers: Bloomerang will change the way you fundraise, plain and simple. When comparing to other donor databases, no one comes close to Bloomerang's affordability and ease of use.

Pros: We sought this vendor because of its simple platform and reduced cost.

Cons: There are so many negative experiences, it's hard to identify what I liked least. 1. Revolving door customer support. Sales was very attentive, but after we purchased, we had difficulty getting ahold of our customer support. At one point she said she only worked 2 days a week, and then she called from a noisy street. Customer support didn't know about integrations with other products or setting the platform for automation, so it took weeks to allow her to put me in contact with engineering. He answered in a helpful email that took 5 minutes. Constant Contact support is much better than this - it doesn't matter to me who I get on the phone if they are knowledgeable and nice. Other platforms definitely have their support personnel better trained to answer questions. 2. Inadequate documentation for support - Videos, no Texts. As is common I think for startup companies, Bloomerang filmed short videos, but neglected proper text documentation. Our donation director would watch videos, then have trouble finding appropriate parts if she had any questions. Good tutorial documentation has text (that can be searched) and also screenshots to help people know what to do. 3. Poor default donation forms - the donation forms were ugly and not what someone would expect for a donation software. We had to go with MailChimp anyway and so there was the added cost. Bloomerang is definitely not a good option for emailing your list (others have mentioned). 4. Poor search of the donation database. If you wanted to select a list by a certain demographic - like donors of a certain amount or from a different state and some other feature and then email them, then Bloomerang couldn't do it. Although they will take some customization of the donor entry, we often found that adding different client details couldn't be searched. What is the point of adding more details if you can't find them later? We had used another platform with better search capabilities. 5. They do not search for duplicates or common typographical errors. As a result, you may be charged for a much higher number of people that are not truly in your database. Other mail lists like Constant Contact search for duplicates and also make corrections in email addresses (like a missed period between gmail and com). Nothing like that in Bloomerang. 6. They do not stand by their product. There is no customer satisfaction guarantee. Although we stated a desire to cancel the product entirely after the first year and asked the rep not to process our direct deposit, she did it anyway. Bloomerang told me that their policy is not to refund any money even though we will not be using their product at all. I was not contesting the 1 year that we already paid into, what I didn't want to do was pay for the future year because we would not use it because it had so many missing needs. Just using an integration with Mail Chimp would serve us better than Bloomerang. The communication piece with Bloomerang is extremely weak.

Recommendations to other buyers: I read the reviews here when we made the decision to purchase donation software and we deeply regret it. The product is too simple and support difficult to access. I was also impressed by the positive reviews in the past on this website, but at least now I see that other people are finding fault with the quality and there is another completely negative review. If you aren't familiar with other software platforms and what they can offer, you may be convinced Bloomerang is satisfactory, but it's not for deep search or automation. There are much better state-of-the-art programs and the company does not have a satisfaction guarantee. If it doesn't work for you, they won't give you back your money and 'too bad' for the person who signs a 2 year contract. It could not do what we wanted to do, and after wasting some money on contractors to add functions, finding out that there were few common integrations, finding out that there were holes in their product that were unfixable. For instance, although the platform proudly announced that they tracked opens of emails, when we sent out invitations, they could tell us that 75% opened, but they couldn't tell us who opened it so we couldn't resend invitations to the ones that weren't opened (other newsletter vendors have this capability). What is the purpose of tracking the percent if you don't know who didn't get it? The simplicity of the platform is illusory. There are fewer buttons because the software does fewer things. Basic information like cancelling out an email sign up is not possible without a "call to engineering". The generic donation form is ugly and incompatible with different sites, and list / subgroup making almost non-existent. The software might work ok for a school, but not for a national non-profit with different states and many different subgroups. In the database, you can enter complicated demographics, but there's no way to sort for them after they're entered! Many people (including me) considered Bloomerang because it looked more affordable and yet fairly complete, but the problem is that it really lacks depth and quality and there is no option even to go to a more advanced option. Look carefully at other reviews which mark the program as having low functionality or quality. Other reviewers seem generous. When you want to download multiple reports, it also takes a long time to generate. There are frequently hidden costs. If you go to export your database, they say that an assist may be necessary and then there is a charge for a person doing it. There is no simple batch download of the different lists that you may need (especially because the ability to cross match different demographics is poor), and you must do one at a time and keep the window open until it's complete (time wasted). The temptation to go with Bloomerang for a small non-profit is that it is cheaper than the more established competitors, but don't do it. If I knew then what I know now, I would wait to purchase a standard and proven software. I'm posting here so that it may help prevent someone else from losing their precious non-profit money. I very disappointed that there is no customer service guarantee that Bloomerang adheres to. Many of our donors are $5-10 donors. Bloomerang knew that we would not be using their software because it didn't have sufficient capabilities to meet our needs, but by refusing to refund our account, it's like they are personally robbing 1000 members of our community. It is dreadful. In an ideal world companies should be transparent about standing by their products - especially if they know they are dealing with non-profits that are trying to help others.

Hello, Software Advice community! I'd like to address you, the reader of this review, directly rather than the author, whose review is largely punitive rather than constructive. Bloomerang absolutely stands by its product, which is why we did not allow this customer to break their signed agreement. We did, however, offer to pay for their third year in full. You can see from the feedback on this site that a vast majority of our customers (whom this reviewer condescends) are satisfied. I'd like to address individually some of the more dubious claims found in this review: "Revolving door customer support." Our support team currently consists of seven, US-based internal staff members. Their schedules are as follows (all times are eastern): Jason: 9am-6pm M-F James: 9am-6pm M-F Diana: 830am-530pm M-F Kristen: 830am-530pm M-F Daniel: 11am-8pm M-F Ron: 9am-3pm (3-5pm in another department) MTRF Susie: 11am-4pm T-F Our last turnover in the department was voluntary and occurred in June of 2014. Furthermore, our phone system routes support calls to a dedicated phone on each of our reps's desk. They do not give our their cell phone numbers to customers and do not take calls after hours. Calling from "a noisy street" would have been impossible. Lastly, our support reps are incredibly knowledgeable, not just in the Bloomerang product but in the nonprofit sector overall. For example, Ron has been working with nonprofits since 1987 when he became Executive Director of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Kristen holds an MPA in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University. "Inadequate documentation for support - Videos, no Texts." This is simply untrue. Our knowledgebase is filled with text-based documentation, including screenshots and videos. Anyone wishing to see for themselves can visit https://bloomerang.freshdesk.com/support/home and log on with the username: "demo.wayne" and the password "grace123". As for the rest, I invite anyone interested in Bloomerang to learn all that they can about the product's functionality by reaching out to customers who have left constructive reviews here. Transparency is one of our core values, and anyone wishing to discuss this review further - or any of our business practices - can reach out to me or our CEO, Jay Love, anytime day or night. Contact info is readily accessible on our website. -- Steven Shattuck, VP of Marketing

Pros: Simple and intuitive on the surface. Donation/timeline entries are fast and easy. Letter generations is mostly easy. As long as you're not serious about getting legit data out of your software, and don't need to make major mass improvements due to the collateral damage of importing from other software, you might like it. Customer support is probably the best I've ever had.

Cons: No mass update option--has cost us dozens of hours of productivity. Some of their reports use bad math, but apparently they're working on fixing that. It's impossible to run certain kinds of reports that were easy in other software. They're apparently working on a big improvement to reports, but it's going to be months before it comes out. Email newsletter option is insanely feature-sparse--had intended to switch to it, but after trying to use it and discovering it's limitations, I'm sticking with MailChimp. There's not way to export letters in an editable form (pdf download is the only option). In general, I've lost SO MUCH functionality and productivity after my switch from eTapestry. I do believe they are genuinely trying to grow and improve this product. They at least don't stonewall some of the criticism and acknowledge things that need improvement, but their capacity to actually improve the product and fix bugs seems extremely limited. Fixes and improvements come out about as fast as molasses pours in Antarctica, and there's an obvious disconnect between what the developers think is needed, and what real fundraisers actually really need.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do a deep dive. Make a list of all the features you need and use in your current software and ask about all of them. I was sold by Bloomerang's ease of use, and failed to ask about a few key pieces of needed functionality. I've paid dearly with my time, spending hours hassling with inconsistencies and updating data one piece at a time instead of all at once. Currently, I can't recommend this software. I still hold out hope that it will improve enough for that to change. eTapestry is not nearly as user friendly on the surface, but ultimately MUCH more productive and functional. I probably wouldn't have switched if I knew then what I know now.

Pros: ┬┐ It is easy to define a constituent┬┐s recognition name, envelope name, informal name, etc. which makes merging documents seamless. ┬┐ In the event that you accidentally attribute a gift to an organization rather than an individual or create two profiles for the same constituent, it is easy to merge records and change record types. ┬┐ The search tool is quick and efficient. ┬┐ Reports are easily downloaded into Excel. ┬┐ System and profile dashboards give quick summaries of data, which are especially helpful for organization staff who may not be in the system every day. ┬┐ Constituent profiles have different tabs to show different information, but the constituent┬┐s name, contact info, and picture stay at the top which makes it easy to jump between records without confusion. ┬┐ Credit card processor integration with Stripe and BluePay make accepting online donations very donor-friendly.

Cons: ┬┐ When uploading information, the system errs on the side of duplicating records ┬┐ there┬┐s no automatic suggestions for matching new data with existing records, so unless what you┬┐re uploading is exactly the same as the existing information (down to the punctuation), the info won┬┐t be merged. ┬┐ Exported letters are only downloadable in PDF form, which prevents any touch-ups or personal notes before printing. Having the option to export to Word would make cultivating personal relationships with donors easier. ┬┐ System and profile dashboards aren┬┐t very customizable.

Recommendations to other buyers: Bloomerang is a user-friendly, affordable donor database system that provides a clean and easy way to track and reenergize your donor base. Bloomerang has allowed our organization to streamline our donation record-keeping, donation acknowledgement, and donor communication processes to maximize our donor relationships. Use of the integrated Stripe online donation processor has simplified and expanded our capacity to garner online gifts, and the timeline functionality has greatly improved our team's communication about grant deadlines and moves management.

Hey Danica, thanks for your feedback! I love that you want to personalize letters in an effort to cultivate personal relationships with your donors. There are a couple reasons why we believe exporting letters as a Word Doc or another type of editable file could be harmful in that effort. Whatever changes you make to the exported letter would not reflect the saved letter in Bloomerang, meaning you would have no record in your database of the actual letter you sent. We'd recommend instead that you export and print the letter in Bloomerang, and then add handwritten notes, which are very personal and impactful. You now have the ability to edit individual letters! https://bloomerang.co/blog/design-segment-and-personalize-thank-you-letters-in-bloomerang/

Pros: Not only is Bloomerang easy to use and navigate, but their customer service is amazing. They are always extremely quick to respond to requests and if I ever have an issue, it is always resolved right away. It allows me to not be worried if something looks off or if an issue arises, because I know I can expect a response almost immediately. I also like the ease of running reports and the variability of the possible reports. I enjoy that I can filter out many details, whether it's regarding donor type or transaction type.

Cons: There are a few small kinks that need to be resolved, but I know the Bloomerang team is aware of them. For example, there is an issue when trying to track "Tribute" donations through the platform, as well as being able to review/resend automatic acknowledgment letters to donors. Lastly, I would like to be able to track recurring donations as pledges, but this is not possible with the current platform. All of these are small things compared to the positives that Bloomerang provides.

Overall: My organization started using Bloomerang in 2015 when we wanted to switch to a donor management platform where our donation form could be embedded into our actual website (instead of having our donor be taken to an external site). I was immediately impressed with the customer support and ease of setting up my account and importing my existing/past donations. I continue to be impressed with Bloomerang and they address all of our needs as a small nonprofit organization.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are looking for a simple-to-use donor management platform with great customer service, this is the software for you.

Comments: I still value this software for the seamless tracking it does of donors and donations. It has many useful features that help with development in terms of finances. I'd like to see more features for help with program and volunteer development specifically but that doesn't minimize the usefulness of what it offers. I highly recommend Bloomerang for nonprofits!

Pros: Online donation forms automatically create profiles in your Bloomerang and those forms can be on our website, our Facebook page, etc. Easy to create web forms for all kinds of uses including donations for specific long-term funds or short-term campaigns. Nice reporting to see what's coming in and the ability to acknowledge donations right from the system with emails or letters. Also like the social media tracking to see who's talking about us and this also feeds into the donor "temperature" which is a measure of donor engagement. You can really identify your true champions! Still learning the system so I'm sure we'll continue to discover useful features. Overall, this is an excellent resource for donor tracking and management.

Cons: If a donor is already in the system and enters a one-time contribution via web form that uses different info it will create a separate record which cannot be deleted without calling customer service for back office assistance. I was told it just has to match 2-3 fields but it even created a separate record for me when I entered a web donation using my first name instead of my middle name (what was already in the system) and all other info the same. Also, I wish there was a way to track non-donors well, i.e. volunteers and those we serve. Tried using a web form for a student application but it then required those fields for the entry of all constituents (not just those entered via the form) so we scrapped that plan. Would be nice to be able to track volunteer hours and which programs participants attend then be able to look up attendance rolls via a search on the program name.

Pros: Bloomerang is a simple to use database that focuses on fundraising and donor management basics. The user interface is clean and easy to understand. Being able to set up an unlimited number of our own custom fields is great and adding donations in is easy. The ability to design, filter, send, and track emails to constituents from within the system is good. Of all the systems I got trial logins for when researching, it was the only one that was easy to get into and play around with intuitively without watching a bunch of training videos. The online chat support is always fast, responsive, and helpful, and there's the ability to suggest system features and see what features are in the works. It also has a good social media integration, especially with Twitter.

Cons: There are some basic functions that the program doesn't have, such as the ability to export acknowledgment letters to Word (you can export to xls or PDf), ability to search for the primary contact of an organization record by name, ability to add documents or other attachments to a constituent record, and notification when a credit card transaction fails. The design features for online donation pages are also somewhat limited so you can't create highly customized giving pages.

Recommendations to other buyers: Think about who is going to be using the software the most. If you want a system that many people can use easily, Bloomerang is a good fit. If you need to be doing a lot of highly-detailed or complicated functions, it may not be the best system. Bloomerang is also a newer program, so we're hoping new features will continue to be added down the road. The conversion and set up of the system takes someone with some overarching knowledge of data or databases, unless you want to pay extra for help with those.

Hey Julie, thanks for your feedback! I'm glad that you are enjoying the interface and making use of our support team. Exporting letters as a Word Doc or another type of editable file was something we grappled early on, and ultimately decided that the potential benefits don't outweigh the drawbacks. For example, if you made any changes outside of Bloomerang, the letter saved in Bloomerang wouldn't reflect what you actually sent to the donor. To add some personalization, we recommend instead that you export and print the letter in Bloomerang, and then add handwritten notes before sending. You now have the ability to edit individual letters! No need to export to Word :) https://bloomerang.co/blog/design-segment-and-personalize-thank-you-letters-in-bloomerang/

The Bloomerang fundraising software is just the ticket for the small start up organization!

Comments: I hope this new generation of fundraising software continues to be open to suggestions from users and builds on this excellent product.

Pros: There are many features of the software that I appreciate. It is user friendly and has excellent help guides and videos. The techs must be teachers. The guides are written in clear language and easily understood by those who can follow directions.(Not all have patience to follow directions.) I paid for additional help and never needed it! The staff are ready to help and are just a phone call away. And, occasionally, they call just to see how things are going. A nice touch. Lastly and important for new organizations, the cost is reasonable and special discounts are available for new not for profit organizations. The cost gradually increases as the number of accounts are added to the system and additional funding is secured. And, I almost forgot, this system has enabled me to have a fully integrated platform for fund-raising, a goal I had from the beginning.

Cons: I would like to see a few things adapted for those of us who do a lot of grant writing and track foundations, but the company is open to suggestions from those using the software and often report adaptations made in response to suggestions from users. I have much more to learn about the features of this product.

Pros: It has a user-friendly interface with a lot of functionality. There is an ability to customize many of Bloomerang's features so that you can properly record and track donations and gifts to your organization. For example, we have customized the groups categories to include how many years each donor was involved in an annual event we host. These features not only enable us to keep track of donations, but to pull more detailed reports that we can then use for targeted marketing campaigns.

Cons: I have a few complaints about the software's features although they may be considered as "areas for improvement" since they stem from my experience with other softwares' features. The first is an autofill for city/state based on zip code. It would also be helpful is the reports had the option to be organized by time data. When exporting acknowledgements using Bloomerang's template, they automatically convert to PDF which does not allow users to edit letters individually (for this reason we export to Excel and mail merge individually).

Overall: This software is easy to use and has many customizable features that allow you to keep track of donations and donor profiles.

Comments: I've done several database conversions and implementations in my nearly 20-year career in nonprofits, and without a doubt, the folks at Bloomerang made it fast, easy and seamless. After researching several solutions for donor tracking, we settled on Bloomerang because of it's robust features, customization ability, pricing and training options. Little did I know just how much I would gain from this product! Our implementation manager walked us through the entire process, and once I handed our data over to her, within just a couple short weeks she had all of our information uploaded, customized and ready to roll! I didn't even have to go back to them with any changes, corrections or adjustments! They actually got it right the very first time (something I've never had happen in the implementations I've managed before)!! Since start up, we've found it easy to further customize our data, enter and track donations and new constituents, and format and use the online forms for registrations and donations. There is a huge library of pre-recorded webinars to help with training, and their customer service department is very responsive. Plus they have regularly scheduled webinars to help you with all-things development and fundraising - not just webinars to tout their own products, but knowledge that can really help you take your fundraising to the next level. I'm so happy we chose Bloomerang for our donor management software. It's a software solution we won't have to worry about out-growing - the customization of the tracking and reporting will make it valuable and useful to us for years to come. This has been one of the best decisions I've ever made!

Pros: Easy implementation Customization Easy online forms for donations and event registration Excellent training and customer service Easy reporting features Tons of features at a budget friendly price

Cons: Honestly, I can't think of any!

Recommendations to other buyers: Definitely do your due diligence and research several options to make sure you are getting the donor management solution that is best for your organization.

Pros: As a customer of Bloomerang for the past 3 years, their customer service always exceeds my expectations. Whether in an on-line chat or over the phone, their knowledgeable customer service representatives quickly respond to any questions I have. For example, when preparing a report of a segmented donor group, Bloomerang was able to help me through the process in a manner that allowed me to run these reports independently in the future. Their commitment to satisfying their customers is evident in the continual enhancements made to their product.

Cons: Love that we have the ability to have multiple online donations pages that are tied specific campaigns but would like more flexibility with the online donation page.

Recommendations to other buyers: Listen to the Bloomerang experts! During our conversion process, my colleagues and I decided to keep households as one constituent. The more we use the product, we can see all the benefits of using the individual constituents and linking them by households. They know how to use their product best.

Hi Cori! Are you looking for more flexibility in terms of style or functionality? As far as style goes, having a security certificate (SSL) on your site allows the form to show up directly on your site and inherit the look of your site. If you don't have that SSL, you can still upload an image and style sheet to the Bloomerang-hosted version of the form. If you are looking for functionality beyond the standard form, you might consider self-hosting the form. The sky's pretty much the limit when it comes to self-hosted forms. :)

Pros: It is very easy to use, which allows us to have volunteers do data entry. We can upload interactions which means we can have information about who attended our events even when we use a third party ticket site. We love that it is web-based and can be accessed anywhere.

Cons: I would like to see an email feature that lets you send one email - right now you set the filters so it does a mass email to just one person.

Overall: Changing your database when you are an established non-profit is a daunting experience. We made the switch almost 2 years ago and have been very happy we did. The interface is clean and clear and so easy to navigate compared to our previous database which made getting reports challenging. Now, with a few clicks, I can really dive in to my data and this has allowed us to do a much better job of donor stewardship. I love being able to quickly see a snapshot of the donor history along with an assessment of how close they are to our organization (cold, cool, warm, on fire). Switching to Bloomerang has made me realize how important it is to be able to pull data easily in order to make operational decisions that have the most impact.

Recommendations to other buyers: For us, it was the same cost as our previous database (Etapestry) and it is a much better product. The team made the data transfer more painless than I imagined.

Comments: Bloomerang is a user-friendly, affordable donor database system that provides a clean and easy way to track and reenergize your donor base. Bloomerang is a newer system, so while there are certain functions that could be improved, the Bloomerang staff is very responsive to questions and suggestions so any cons may not stay cons for long. Below are a few current pros and cons with the Bloomerang system.

Pros
┬┐ It is easy to define a constituent┬┐s recognition name, envelope name, informal name, etc. which makes merging documents seamless.

Cons
┬┐ When uploading information, the system errs on the side of duplicating records ┬┐ there┬┐s no automatic suggestions for matching new data with existing records, so unless what you┬┐re uploading is exactly the same as the existing information (down to the punctuation), the info won┬┐t be merged.
┬┐ Exported letters are only downloadable in PDF form, which prevents any touch-ups or personal notes before printing. Having the option to export to Word would make cultivating personal relationships with donors easier.
┬┐ System and profile dashboards aren┬┐t very customizable.

Pros: They are always looking for new options and ways to improve the product. Keeping on top of what trends in the marketplace will help us to succeed. The recent additions of linking Twitter users has been great for us. They are available for support, but the video resources make it super easy to watch and learn at the time most convenient for us....that for me is late nights or on the weekends. Very easy to find the help topic you are looking for also. This is the most user friendly software I have ever used for anything. We started using Bloomerang just over a year ago. We had no doubts in renewing for the second year and look forward to working with them for many years to come.

Cons: I wish it would transfer income automatically to our Quick Books....but that's not killing us.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have more than one user, you need a program that is easy to work with little to no training required. This is it. Super easy to jump right in and start using, and the training videos in the help sections are awesome! Of course they are available for more personal training if needed. They also host some great webinars to assist in making your organization successfu. Most of all we love the quick and easy access to reporting, which is something to look at when comparing as well. Bloomerang reports can be pulled on the fly to answer questions from your board on a moments notice. This is a awesome feature.

Comments: I am a huge fan of this software and have told all of my fundraising colleagues about it. In fact, I loved it so much when I recently switched jobs I made sure my new organization became a Bloomerang customer within two weeks of me being there.

Pros: I love how intuitive and easy to use the software is. Even if you are a novice to fundraising, you'll be able to quickly get up to speed thanks to the nice visuals and ongoing training courses they offer. Bloomerang's customer support team is also top notch. They are friendly, knowledgeable and quick. Any question I've contacted them with, I usually was able to receive an answer within a few hours, oftentimes even within 30 minutes. My absolute favorite feature so far (I'm discovering new favorites on a regular basis) is being able to create reports based on the donor engagement level. It helped me a lot with the segmentation of donors and "deep cleaning" my database.

Cons: There are a few things that I hope the development team will be adding in the future. I don't like that the campaign process on the home page cannot be set for an annual goal. That would be a nice quick summary to have to share with the board. I also would like the donation page to be more customizable to include images.

Pros: That is is web based and very easy to use. The price is also outstanding compared to similar products. You really can't beat it financially.

Cons: That thank you letters are exported as pdf's instead of editable documents. This does slow me down weekly.

Overall: My organization switched to Bloomerang almost one year ago to manage our donor files. I have been very pleased with the software and the overall experience with the company. They have very easy to understand webinars introducing new users to the software. I felt I learned enough from the webinars to jump right in. The system is very intuitive and user friendly. I felt I was quickly able to run reports and thank you letters (which I do on a weekly basis). The support chat feature is one of my favorite things. I have used it many times to get information on how to run a new report. The staff is always very friendly and walks me through all of the steps. I also love that it is web based so I can access it remotely. Overall I am very pleased with the software and feel you get an amazing product for a very reasonable price.

Comments: After weeks of research our nonprofit decided that Bloomerang was the best fit for our fundraising needs. Bloomerang is founded by the same creator of Etapestry and it is evident that the software was built on a wealth of experience in non profit fundraising. We can now track interactions with donors, set follow-up reminders, and organize communication all in one place. We can measure donor engagement through email opens, events attended, volunteer opportunities, social media engagement. We are also very excited to be able to track and measure donor retention, which is something we have not been able to do in the past.

Pros: We purchased a package of 1,000 records and with an additional annual cost of $14 a month we can access an integrated donor research tool. This allows us to search who supporters give to and how much, the value of their house, and who they give to politically through a database. This is an incredible deal since this process normally takes a lot of time and research from a staff member. Free Unlimited Email and IM Support Extremely user friendly They are constantly creating more tools based on customer needs and recent research of fundraising trends

Cons: The API is open but not easy to integrate with any other systems an organization might use to track information like Actionkit. There are plug in tools you can use to upload information and records from another database or system but you cannot easily sync another database system to Bloomrang so that they communicate regularly. Depending on your needs as an organization this may not be relevant to you.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take your time with the process of finding a database that fits your organization needs.

Comments: As a nonprofit organization, value is very important when making spending decisions. Bloomerang has exceeded our expectations, and we consider it an important investment in maintaining donor relationships!

Pros: What a fantastic user interface! Bloomerang is very user friendly. Makes it so easy to enter new constituents and donations. The ease of use might make you think this is a simple program. It is not. The database capabilities behind the scenes are very powerful and provide the ability to easily generate complex reports. Support is also excellent and provides very fast assistance when needed. It also integrates very well with Quickbooks. If you are tired of spending time trying to track your donor activity in an accounting software, such as Quickbooks, and on spreadsheets, this is the software for you. Simply put, use Bloomerang to track DONORS and accounting software to process DOLLARS. I highly recommend Bloomerang!

Cons: The Letters function is a good feature, but I would like the word processing tool to be more robust. The formatting capabilities are limiting for more complex documents, such as invoices and receipts. The Reports function is powerful, but would be even better if both transaction and constituent data columns could be customized on one report.

Pros: It┬┐s got a clean design that gives you access to meaningful donor metrics on the dashboard and for each individual donor record. The timeline is absolutely perfect when it comes to getting a snapshot of the donor and the additional features of the reports and emails make it easy to both keep in contact and to manage mailing that is relation specific. Along with the product being top-notch, you also have access to great educational sessions that are free and are either full of good information or give you further tools to help out in the industry which makes Bloomerang an all around great company with a very functional product.

Cons: The letter and email sections limit what you can do in the editor. There are also a limited number of templates for quick creation and it would be nice to see more variety in them which would help out when trying to make quicker publications.

Recommendations to other buyers: Keeping in mind what matters most when tracking donors comes first, meaning it's important to have what you need, but it's also important that it's done in such a clean cut and easily manageable way. It's the ease of use that really helps out especially when you're dealing with a high volume of important information. It really cuts down on the time you have to spend working with the product just to get what you need. Time spent having to tweak a report or figure out how to torture a number out of a data set is wasted when a product like this puts it out in the open.

Pros: It's relatively easy to use out of the box. It's not very customize-able, which is a good thing if you are new to databases and a frustrating thing if you need the software to do anything beyond the very basics. And you can get a 1-year license through Tech Soup if you're a nonprofit. That's the biggest plus.

Cons: I've spoken with folks at Bloomerang, and find them incredibly inflexible and unhelpful when it comes to taking customer feedback. They have a product that only works for the most basic kind of record keeping. For example, we used it with a client that works exclusively with LGBTQ folks, and there was no way to alter the gender options. They also REFUSE to create an integration for QuickBooks Online, opting to only integrate with a GL software called Aplos, which is used by very few nonprofits. Actually, most concerning is probably that they only offer two levels of permissions. When I asked if they were working on this, the response was that they were "tracking which additional user permission settings customers need". This company is not new though, so I really suspect they don't actually care about working on this. I found Bloomerang frustrating at basically every level in trying to customize its offerings and shape it to work for our client. I think they are switching to a new database next year, in part because of the gender weirdness and in part because it's just not a great database for a growing organization.

Hey Amy! Thanks so much for the feedback. I am so sorry you had the experience with us that you did! Customer support is typically the area where we get the highest marks. You┬┐ll be happy to know that we are actively building a QuickBooks Online integration. We┬┐ve also added a third user permission as of 3/26/18 that will allow only certain users to add, edit, and delete transactions, and are actively building more! I┬┐d love to know more about your ideas for how we can improve the gender options in Bloomerang. We┬┐re sensitive to this (it┬┐s why we┬┐ve done things like adding the honorific ┬┐Mx┬┐ as an option).

Pros: Bloomerang is the easiest to use, and includes features that are based on what fundraisers really need -- not all the random extras that seem cool but are just useless clutter. Imports are easy, reports are easy, even acknowledgement letters are easy and integrated. Software updates are automatic and seamless, so you never have to mess with them or risk being out of date. The customer support can't be beat. I've transitioned two organizations to Bloomerang, and will hopefully be transferring a third within the year!

Cons: The only thing I'd love to see change is for acknowledgement letters to be exported in Word format instead of only PDF. That said, even the PDF is highly customizable before it exports, so it's a teeny tiny itsy bitsy problem.

Pros: The reporting, ease of data entry, mass email management, donor/volunteer engagement and retention tracking

Cons: Very minor issues that will probably be fixed down the road. Can't mass upload tasks (have to manually enter even if they repeat annually) and can't schedule emails to go out at a later time. But the pros way outweigh the cons.

Overall: Bloomerang is so easy and enjoyable to use. I am able to manage all of my development processes through it, streamlining tasks and saving time and energy. It has made my job so much easier and I am a better fundraiser because of it.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't be intimidated by the cost - it isn't free but it isn't the most expensive on the market either. Yes, you may be paying more than you were before, but the man hours you'll save and the quality of work you'll get out of it is worth the investment, as Bloomerang allows you to spend more time fundraising and less time database managing.

Comments: I am a long time user of this product, and I would totally recommend this product to anyone considering switching or even the first time donor database user. This product has features that will help the seasoned non-profit and the start-up alike.

Pros: - Its integrated with other 3rd party products - I can easily incorporate a number of things (through code snippets generated from by the Bloomrang database) directly into my website - Good and responsive customer service - I like the initial sign-in dashboard

Cons: - I wish there were a more granular control of users ability to see different parts of the database (i.e., donations, anonymous gifts, etc..) - It's great that there are so many options, but it would be great to "disable" certain features I don't use - I wish the task aspect had more features

Pros: Our organization was ready to move to a database for the first time, and Bloomerang has been a great solution. Bloomerang gives us reliable, consistent data and reports in a user-friendly platform, plus we use it to track stewardship actions, grants, and more. It's a streamlined platform that meets our needs today and will grow along with us in the future. I have also found it really easy to train interns and volunteers on certain tasks, like entering contact reports and running acknowledgement letters. I've used several fundraising databases, and I can confidently say that Bloomerang is the only one that I have ever loved using. It does exactly what I need it to in a really manageable, intuitive platform.

Cons: There is not currently an easy way to enter complex gifts (split gifts, gifts with multiple stock share sale prices, etc). Most of our gifts are not complicated, however, so it's not an issue for us right now - and there are work-arounds.

Recommendations to other buyers: Be honest about your needs and the size of your database - some products will have too much or too little functionality for your needs, so you want to buy the one that fits your org. If you aren't sure how to make that call, call up a few development folks from other nonprofits you trust and ask for their take on your needs. They will be able to help you translate your org's needs to the right type of software.

Comments: We are a small non-profit with a small budget that needed a CRM that would work for us budget-wise while also helping us build our donors giving. Bloomerang is very easy to use and anyone can learn it. For what we need it works really well and we have seen results.

Pros: Simple to learn how to use. Very functional and anyone can learn how to use it. I love the home screen that gives you all the info you want right when you login.

Cons: The letters come out in PDF so if you need to make a change you either have to re-run the letters or convert them to word. The reminders dont have any pop-ups so you have to go in a check everyday if you have any reminders or tasks due.

Recommendations to other buyers: Bloomerang is perfect for a small non-profit that needs a CRM to work for them. We have seen an increase in our donor retention and giving over the past year thanks to Bloomerang

Really appreciate your thoughts, Katie. A quick note on the letters since this is something we're often asked about. No need to re-run, and the custom letter is saved on the constituent's timeline! https://bloomerang.co/blog/design-segment-and-personalize-thank-you-letters-in-bloomerang/

Pros: Ease of use and the availability of online chat with customer support.

Cons: Unreliability of reports in capturing the delivery of emails.

Overall: At first glance, the program has everything needed for maintaining a constituent database. Tracking fundraising dollars and generating reports is quite easy. Solicitation of funds and recognition of donors, specific to their giving, takes minimal effort. However, mass emailing has glitches in delivery and reporting. Customer Service is friendly, eager to assist. One great option is the availability to contact customer support via telephone, email, and online chat.

Comments: I'm just really glad we found this program.

Pros: Our growing Non profit needed a program to organize and streamline our processes. Bloomerang offers all of that and more. We are so thankful that Bloomerang also offers different price points for a growing non profit we need the system but can not afford high fees. Their grow version is perfect, we have access to all the awesome tools to help our non profit grow and in a few years be able to afford a more advanced version of Bloomerang. We are very happy with this program, from donor management to volunteer management and newsletters. Bloomerang does it all. The best part everything is the customization. You can make it the best program for your non profit.

Cons: In regards to the templates for newsletters there isn't a lot to choose from, but something that Bloomerang really reinforces is less is more with newsletters so a streamlined and easy to read newsletter template is important. They know what they are doing.

Comments: Prior to Bloomerang, my small nonprofit used Etapestry. For years, Etap felt like the neglected ugly stepchild of the Blackbaud ecosystem. They've seemed to invest in improvements recently but I wasn't happy with its UN-user friendly interface, convoluted reporting, and complicated pricing (to be fair, all of these have experienced improvements recently). I did an extensive search for 4 other CRM's and what landed us with Bloomerang was essentially two experiences: simplicity and excellent customer service. Right from the beginning, the customer rep guided me through a process that was helpful, inquisitive, informative, and responsive to my needs.

Pros: Ease of use. Excellent customer service. Training materials and courses are the best in the industry. Their focus on donor retention will improve your bottom line. The reporting feature is the easiest and best I've seen. Mobile accessible.

Cons: Still working out some kinks but I'm pleased by the transparency of their system updates and receptiveness to customer feedback to shape future releases. Their custom forms and email templates could be sharper and I wish they could integrate with Mailchimp.

Pros: I can track everything about my donors and volunteers, including contact information, notes, giving and volunteer history, and all interactions from emails to personal meetings. But it doesn't require a lot of my time to enter this information, allowing me more time to actually do my job in raising money. It is very easy to then pull the information out in reports.

Cons: It isn't really made for event registration, and membership management could be improved. But it is easy to upload registration information from the ticket managing software we use.

Overall: More time to raise money, feel more organized, can track progress and goals.

Comments: Bloomerang really listens to the customer. In the past year, we have submitted our suggestions for changes that would make the day to day operations more efficient. Several of those suggestions have already been implemented.

Pros: This product is easy to customize and use. It provides everything we need to successfully fundraise-email communications with constituents, online fundraising, credit card processing, scheduling follow up tasks, event management, interfacing with website and more. The customer service from the first contact to now has been outstanding. Questions and concerns are answered promptly.

Cons: I wish that we could customize the background color of the records. The dark gray is rather dismal. A brighter or lighter color would be more eye appealing.

Comments: I recently switched from Raiser's Edge to Bloomerang because I wanted all of the newest features including cloud based data, e-mail and embedded forms, but didn't want to pay the crazy high price for NXT. While it much less complex, it maintains almost all of the functionality I'm looking for. Plus, it is VERY intuitive, will integrate donor wealth screening, show me their twitter feed, and allow me to enter the current decade of databases. Support during the conversion was very good. Did I mention that I can add all the custom fields I want? No more jamming round pegs into square holes and remembering that a field name actually means something else. Their free included training is also very good.

Pros: Easy to learn and use. Great package of features without a lot of crazy extras. Good value for the money. Good support. Integrated e-mail. Integrated DonorSearch.

Cons: A little less flexibility on complex importing. Only one security level - can't authorize someone to view but not change. Probably not the best if you have a large, widespread staff.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look at everything. View demos of the 5-10 that look like possibilities. Play in the "sandboxes" of your final 3.

Comments: I really enjoy using this system. I think it's the best deal for the price!

Pros: Bloomerang is an amazing system that works fluidly once you get used to it. It keeps everything organized, keeps up with notes, provides information to all users in your company, and best of all, has the best customer service you could ask for.

Cons: The letter generating part of the software could use some work. You only have one interface to work with and can't create something outside of the program and then import it well. It's very limited. Generating reports can get confusing, but you always have help available if needed! The system needs a separation of users desperately. Some users should not be able to change information, yet access it.

Pros: Wed based, great reporting, letters, email, payment processing linkage to our website, donor snapshot and campaign management

Cons: The household icons and linkage, the lack of limited log-in options for our volunteers (versus giving them full database access)

Overall: Our radio station searched high and low for a reasonable donor database that would solve our needs. We had an antiquated database that was not web based that required tedious tasks for everything needed. Bloomerang has been a great solution! We are now over a year into our conversion. The conversion process was great. The staff was super helpful and the timelines and prep work all aligned to make it a seamless transition. We have now come light years ahead with our web-based solution and have all the donor data we need at our fingertips.

Pros: This product is incredibly easy to use. If you can shop online, you can use this database! It's also very intuitive when pulling reports. With just a little training from the Bloomerang team, you will be ready to go. Their support team is also very helpful, and I love the live chat feature to help me with the issues I'm dealing with immediately. It's great to have a web-based database that I can access wherever I am. Almost everything can be customized, so we are able to build in fields that are specific to our organization. This has helped us get more organized with our programs in addition to our fundraising.

Cons: The only thing I don't like is some of the report formatting. It's difficult to get things in alphabetical order and you can't list donors' gifts to a certain appeal or fund in different years in columns next to each other.

Recommendations to other buyers: I recommend to take a walk-through of the database and see how functional it is. Build a couple of the reports you run often - you will be amazed at how easy it is!

Comments: Overall, very satisfied with this product. We were using eTapestry but found it was too cumbersome for our needs. Researched multiple options and ended up with Bloomerang.

Pros: Ease of use with minimal training, chat support, costs

Cons: Does not integrate with MS Office (i.e., you can not "cc" an email to a constituent and have it populate the CRM. Also, the funds raised for the year are for calendar only, we operate on the federal fiscal year and there is no way to change it.

Vendor Response

by Bloomerang on March 22, 2017

Good news, Jerry! We┬┐re working on a feature right now that allows users to ┬┐Bcc┬┐ to their Bloomerang database. When released, this feature will capture emails from your work or personal accounts on the appropriate constituent records right in Bloomerang. Also, we have our eye on the fiscal year adjustments. Right now you can put that information in under your Organization┬┐s settings for the purpose of reporting, and we anticipate more changes along these lines in the future.

Pros: The ease of use and the simplicity of the platform. Everything I need to find or track is in there and easy to find. If I can't find a way to run a report to get what I need, a quick online chat always has me directed where I need to go.

Cons: Dashboard stats can't generate a report.

Overall: Working with the Bloomerang system is one of a kind. it is easy to use, the staff is available to help with any question you have, no time is wasted trying to find out information about a donor and to change or update the donor information is so easy. Now that they partner with some other great companies, there are additional benefits to using Bloomerang that allows their software to be a one-stop shop. I highly recommend using their donor management system.

Comments: I researched CRM software options extensively last year. Started with over 40 options and narrowed it down one by one to Bloomerang. I have been so, so happy with my decision. A great company!

Pros: Price! You get so much for such a low price. Easy to use--volunteers without training have been successfully helping me with entry. Customer Service- phone support worth EVERY penny. They are so knowledgable and patient and always calm, polite and respectful. I LOVE them! Our auditor was impresses with what I could do with Bloomerang!

Cons: I really can't think of any real cons. I really want a shopping cart feature but no one has that option so I can't complain.

Pros: Bloomerang is easy to use and intuitive once the process is understood.
We find the e-newsletter feature to be one of the best ways to communicate with our base, and they love it!
The interface is also easy to use for staff and office volunteers.
The reporting helps keep our data clean and helps us see giving trends.
Website integration with our payment processor has helped streamline and intensify our online giving.

Cons: Unable to report on relationships, though this is being worked on by the developers. Bloomerang takes customer input seriously and we respect that.

Overall: Bloomerang has helped our small nonprofit organization stay organized, in communication with our supporters, and tracking trends in giving.

Recommendations to other buyers: In addition to my pros, the price and online chat support really makes Bloomerang stand out if your organization is looking to transform your giving program.

Pros: Reports are easy to prepare and are presented in a simple and convenient way.

Cons: I would love it if it could easily integrate with our products like EventBrite, although I understand that it is an easy transfer of information.

Overall: We reached out to Bloomerang because other systems could not do the types of things we wanted to be able to do in a user-friendly manner. We have been very happy with both the product and the great people who make us feel like partners.

Recommendations to other buyers: I really like the way it easily separates one campaign from another and allows for easy generation of reports. I mostly appreciate that I feel like we can call up our representative and ask a question instead of calling into a corporate phone tree in some other state or country that does not provide an immediate response to questions. There's still more that we can do to utilize all of the benefits of Bloomerang. We look forward to continue to learn its functionality.

Pros: Ease of use and cloud based technology. This is such a simple system to learn that isn't intimidating or daunting. Also, being cloud based means that I can pull up donor data or reports wherever I'm at while traveling.

Cons: It's hard to find something I don't like. As we grow I'm curious to see how the product grows with us.

Overall: We are a small foundation and spent considerable time looking for a new donor management system. Bloomerang was by far the easiest to work with in getting all of the features we needed. We also had a great deal of old data that needed to be purged and their ability (and patience) in helping us go through this process was wonderful. Transferring all our data over took time, but we are happy that it was done right the first time and that they were in constant contact with our staff.

Recommendations to other buyers: The customer service from everyone on staff is phenomenal.

Comments: I would like to say that Bloomerang went out of their way to make sure that their product worked with our current and future needs. They took time to assess us our needs and to help us understand where their product would benefit us the most before ever talking about the cost. After that, they worked with our allotted amount and were able to get us to an amount that meant we were not sacrificing need.

Pros: I believe the customer service especially Iantha was the best I have seen from any donor software company out there. They spent a great deal of time with me and making sure that I was felt like a family member rather than another customer with money to spend. I also feel that the software is easy to use and has a great dashboard to monitor the donor information and potential growth. I think the best feature was their Growth Plan which allowed a new organization like mine to be able to afford full access to the software while we build up our donor ministry.

Cons: I have none at this time.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are new to the gathering information in regard to donors, what they give, when they give, and what they like to give to, then Bloomerang is a great fit.

We converted over to Bloomerang in the fall of 2016. The staff and conversion process was great.

Pros: It is easy to use, all your donation information can be contained in one place. Allowing the user to make custom fields assures that you can personalize the information to fit your needs for information. Being able to add personal notes or interactions allows each staff member a place to record their own interactions with each donor.

Cons: The filtering can be somewhat complex and/or clunky and when adding a new contact it automatically adds them to every email lists you have created. It would be much better to let the organization choose which lists to add them to as you create a profile.

Overall: It is a great database and donor management software and it offers the ability to keep all donor information in one place.

Pros: The user interface is so pretty! At first, I mistook it for simplistic, but Bloomerang is actually a quite robust donor database. Don't be fooled by how easy it is to consume the information. It follows Apple design theology, obviously, which makes it delightful to use. It's definitely taken our donor communication up notch. The timeline is great and we love the engagement level tool.

Cons: Bloomerang fits our needs as an organization pretty well. We haven't fully configured the volunteer management portion and there seems to be less support with that. We'd also prefer that the dashboard was able to be customized for each staff login. We'd also like to be connected to Instagram.

Pros: easy of use and versatility -- I just put tickets up for our fundraiser on Bloomerang. Credit card donations are now easy -- all the data is collected and right where it is easily accessed.

Cons: That it wasn't installed when I took this job. Seriously, I don't have one bad thing to say about it.

Overall: When I took this position a year ago this agency was using spreadsheets for their data collection. (Say what?) After looking at numerous software programs I choose Bloomerang. An excellent choice. The platform is so user friendly, the customer support is ridiculously awesome -- I just can't stay enough good things about them. We now have a smooth running operation because of their expertise. We are out of the woods and into the light of donor software!

Comments: Very intuitive and easy to use. Love that the users have input on the product roadmap and future enhancements.

Pros: Report are easily run so you can really dig into your data... and if you need help, its only a chat away. Engagement score and highlights on the timeline let you know at a glance important info about your donors ! Online form integration is great and its very easy to customize.

Cons: Needs more flexibility in creating and editing thank you/recipet letters. Still have to export and mail merge to get a custom font and wording.
