They make us run around to try and get help when we should be raising money for our non-profit. If you have questions they send you a link to a video so you can figure it out yourself. Pros The sales person that made it seem magical if we only had Bloomerang. She did her job well and we signed a contract which launched us into a deep, bottomless chasm. Training consisted of watching someone's mouse pointer zooming around the screen and clicking on things that you couldn't quite make out. They use "development" language from 20 years ago so it's hard to follow the one sided conversation. They naturally have terms they use to name sections, buttons, etc. but they are meaningless and not intuititive in the least. It's old and clunky at best - they need a major upgrade. Their donation form takes 6-7 seconds to load on your site. They told me they are working on it. In the meantime our bounce rate goes up! Cons Customer support, on-boarding rediculous training methods, and is anyone but \[sensitive content hidden\] in customer service a real person. While the platform offered helpful tools for tracking donations and engagement, the cost was too high for our organization’s size and budget. We also wished there were more flexible pricing options based on nonprofit income or scale, which would make the platform more accessible for smaller organizations. Pros Bloomerang was easy to use and designed with donor relationships in mind. The interface was intuitive, making it simple to track donations, manage memberships, and pull reports without needing advanced technical skills. The donor engagement tools and clean reporting helped our organization better understand supporters and make more informed fundraising decisions. It also saved time by keeping communications, giving history, and notes all in one place, though we no longer use the platform. Cons The emailing features were limited and didn’t offer the flexibility we needed for segmented outreach and customized communications. Creating and formatting emails felt restrictive, and tracking engagement wasn’t as robust as expected. We also found some reporting and data management functions required extra steps, which made certain workflows less efficient. They also do not issue refunds, even if you were never able to utilize the service due to the delays in onboarding. Buyer beware! Pros It would appear to be user friendly/ intuitive, seems to be a great platform is you are able to successfully onboard. Cons There were significant delays in onboarding and they refused to refund our nonprofit when we were unable to utilize their service due to the delays. Cons There is no address label feature or a way to directly print an address and name to an envelope. Pros I don't like anything about Bloomerang.. Cons Bloomerang is an old, outdated CRM with barely functional features, terrible customer service, and broken promises. Bloomerang has online forms that are not functional at all so you have to purchase an upgrade to get functional forms. We purchased two add-ons (Give+ and DonorSearch) and they didn't turn those features on for over 10 months. I have reached out via the chat and email NUMEROUS times and at times, it takes 3-5 days to get a response. Other times, I don't get a response at all. Their platform is not user friendly at all and you often have to take steps in multiple places to accomplish one thing. Due to the breech in contract on their side (not providing Give+ and DonorSearch for over 10 months), I've requested early cancellation of our contract and they refuse. The CRM itself is perfect for my organization's needs and the staff and customer support are very helpful. Pros It is super easy to use and it does everything I need it to do. The chat help function is also very helpful and responsive. If I ever run into a problem, they usually have an answer for me within a few minutes. Definitely the best CRM I've ever used. Cons We had to create our giving form in another software as the form offered through Bloomerang was not ideal and didn't offer a lot of flexibility or visual interest. Love the best in class reporting functionality; they are doing stuff no one else is doing in that realm. Pros Easy to implement. Great customer service. Robust reporting features. Great user interface. Best in class features. Just upgraded email marketing features! Cons Not a lot of options for online fundraising campaigns (vs a regular donation page), and online forms are limited. Verified Reviewer Director of Development Used the software for: Less than 1 year ### "Great Database for Smaller Organizations" 5.0 December 18, 2020 Bloomerang is easy to use for the majority of people, but you do give up some customization options to get that ease of use. I think its a good database for smaller organizations, especially ones that don't have the staff or the time for a database administrator. Pros Bloomerang is very easy to use and very easy to set up, they also have a ton of resources and videos so if you can't figure something out right away, you'll be able to figure it out soon. The interface is very simple with all the options on the left hand side. The dashboard gives a lot of good data and its very, very easy to build either custom reports or use their canned report templates. Imports are also very easy. Household records are only counted as 1 record against your limit, which is nice. Cons The donation pages leave a lot to be desired. There's only a few things you can edit or customize unless you self host and know how to code html, css and java-script. The dashboard on the home page isn't customizable either, though it does give pretty good data by itself, it would be better if it were customizable. Important to have a skilled conversion specialist when you convert. Great customer service. Pros It’s ease of use, focus on retention and stewardship, online chat feature and continuous learning through Bloomerang Academy.
