Pros We setup a brand new laboratory in Tazania and we were looking for a user-friendly LIMS that can support our needs as well as be affordable for us starting a small lab. Since we had strict regulatory requirements we needed to make sure we found a LIMS that has ISO 15189 certifications as well as HIPAA. CloudLIMS is what my team and I decided on after speaking with the team and them showing us a live demo of the product. What I really liked is the fact that pre-sales they were able to demostrate their product with our bespoke data and workflow requirements to show us how they can meet our operational needs. After this and the very friendly sales team, we decided to go forward with CloudLIMS. They were very patient with us especially since we had quite a lot of requirements. I would highly recommend them to any lab wanting a affordable yet powerful option. Great product, competitive in price and top quality custom service. We evaluated several LIMS before choosing it and we do not regret it. As said, fantastic. Pros Hello, my name is Cesar Marquez and I direct LTL, an analytical lab situated in Rhode Island and specialized in cannabis products. Here we perform analytical tests concerning potency, pesticides, heavy metals, to name a few, and we do so within a highly regulated environment. We use CloudLIMS as management system. Having evaluated the options available on the market, CloudLIMS was the only system capable of responding to our expectations. From the moment a group of samples arrives at the lab until they are disposed of, CloudLIMS registers all steps performed and the results obtained, maintaining an updated chain of custody. It is easy to use on daily basis, with a set of default values implemented for repetitive actions. This is something that our administration and scientists appreciate. CloudLIMS facilitates the uploading of sample information directly from METRC’s Transport Manifest (METRC is the Management System chosen by Rhode Island’s DBR to overview the industry), or you can upload it from the Chain of Custody form. It also performs all required calculations for the different tests; it imports the results from different machines and formats in an agile manner, and through the pertinent algorithms, it prepares in a supervised manner, the Certificates of Analysis. Finally, the results are also communicated directly to METRC and QuickBooks, this last one for billing. CloudLIMS also has a very compelling client portal. There, our customers can not only order new pickups in a comfortable way but can also follow the analysis of samples in real time and download CoAs and QRs on demand. The client’s portal is intuitive, so new clients learn to use it almost effortlessly. Finally, CloudLIMS allows a full control of logbooks, inventory, clients and maintenance of instrumental. But in my opinion, the most important feature of CloudLIMS is their team’s professionalism, specifically their dedication and commitment. There is a dedicated team for us, and its response to any technical challenge is almost immediate, commonly in less than 24h. Any update or upgrade is implemented on demand; their team is always ready and willing to accommodate our needs. With all this in mind, I believe CloudLIMS is an incredible LIMS and I proudly recommend it. Thank you! Cons We have encounter no real issues with CloudLIMS. Importantly, system configuration, troubleshooting, and enhancements were provided at no additional cost, reflecting CloudLIMS’ strong commitment to customer success. Pros We are a commercial biobank founded in 2010 in Waltham, Massachusetts, follows a decentralized model by collecting biospecimens directly from patients in their homes. As our operations grew, spreadsheets and disconnected tools were no longer sufficient, leading us to implement CloudLIMS in 2022 after a thorough evaluation. While there was a learning curve, the CloudLIMS team provided excellent guidance and customized the system to our needs at no additional cost. We now manage over 100,000 sample units with ease, benefit from fast and intuitive storage visualization, and have greatly improved reporting, search, and data export capabilities. Cons Like any systems there is a learning curve. However the CloudLIMS team gave us tutorials and detailed documentation on how the system works and the flexibility of the system. July 21, 2025 5.0 It has been a pleasure to work with CloudLIMS so far and I look forward to many successful years going forward. They are the go to providers for smaller labs looking to implement a new LIMS. Pros The user interface is snappy, and navigating the UI is intuitive and straightforward. I was able to setup data exports in and out of the LIMS for all of my instruments which makes working with the system a breeze. I appreciate that the staff was responsive to my needs during the implementation process. They were fair on pricing, offering a subscription plan more suitable to a small laboratory versus many of the other cloud based LIMS providers which have a higher minimum user number. Cons By default many of the options and data fields are setup for a clinical lab, however I work in an environmental testing lab. The staff at CloudLIMS was able to remove these unnecessary fields. It may have been difficult at the very beginning, but the support team has always been patient, responsive, and supportive in our years as customers. Pros CloudLIMs is highly configurable on multiple levels so no matter what operations your facility is running, it's likely CloudLIMS can achieve your operational needs. They have great customer service and technical support, ensuring customers feel comfortable and competent to use the application. CloudLIMS is also extremely accessible since it is cloud-based, so as long as you have internet, you have full usability of the application. With the Enterprise version, it offers a lot of other features for our operations to keep track of our different research studies, inventory, training documents, and other legal documents. Cons There are some minor setbacks with CloudLIMS that I am optimistic can be achieved in the future. The arrangement of some columns to be customizable, the selection of hide/view options for attributes between different types to be applied across the board, the editing/creation of attributes to be applied across the multiple types, are just a couple of examples. However, I will say that CloudLIMS seems to always be receptive of feedback like this from customers and take it to their product management team to further improve their product. With BioTracer's enhanced user group management and the unique configuration module, we could accommodate diverse work flows of six different types of labs into one single product. The access level control helps us manage data integrity. The complimentary data migration services were a big plus for us. It took the onus of uploading all the data off our shoulders and enabled us to get started with BioTracer without dedicated staff. October 19, 2024 5.0 Pros The CoA template was configured to accommodate our requirements, such as the inclusion of all critical client and sample information and a tabular view of all analytes and their observed values, with each cell of the table designed to capture values based on specific test types. For this, the CloudLIMS team worked closely with us to fully align the CoA template with our expectations. CloudLIMS automated calculations and used in-built logic and complex algorithms to achieve this. The CloudLIMS team configured the solution’s service and billing module to enable us to generate and send invoices to customers in our preferred layout and format. CloudLIMS incorporated a digital signature into the invoice template, allowing us to validate invoices before sending them to our customers. The service and billing module has streamlined invoicing and made it significantly easier for us to track payments. Implementing CloudLIMS and automating several key processes has enabled us to meet compliance with standards such as ISO 17025, cementing our leadership position in Nigeria’s mining industry. Pros At the Translational and Advanced Medicine Hospital, our clinical processes involve next-generation sequencing, optical genome mapping, proteomics, and digital pathology. Our workflow involves receiving samples from physicians, storing them prior to analysis, testing samples, and reporting test results to the physicians. Sometimes, we receive multiple samples collected from the same patient at different time points. We are also setting up a new genomics laboratory for sample collection and storage. We were looking for a LIMS that can mirror our existing and new workflows seamlessly and adapt to changes over time. Selecting a LIMS vendor was a daunting task but my previous positive experience with CloudLIMS has tipped the scale in their favor. We evaluated LIMS solutions from several vendors, including Thermo Fisher and Labware, and ultimately chose CloudLIMS. The feature that stands out for us is the ability to track the complete genealogy of samples and manage patient data, including patients' consent. With this feature, we can trace the history of each sample easily, including the patient from whom it was collected, the condition of the patient at the time of collection, etc. The product also enables us to meet ISO 20387 compliance requirements with ease. The team's support during our evaluation process was excellent, and they answered all our questions satisfactorily. We conducted thorough testing before purchasing the product. Our entire team, including C-level executives, participated in the evaluation process, and we were impressed with the product's full capabilities. Cons Our experience has been nothing but positive. Reason for choosing CloudLIMS Our biorepository is mainly comprised of biospecimens from cancer patients, including blood, tumor, adjacent normal tissue, adipose tissue, and urine. Our partner hospitals in India collect these samples, which are then processed and stored at our facility. One of our biggest challenges was to track the genealogy of each sample and provide our clients with all the necessary information. To ensure the efficient delivery of samples to researchers from academia and industry, it is crucial for us to have a reliable system that can manage and track the information associated with each sample. CloudLIMS helped us overcome these operational hurdles effortlessly.
