Pros I like it that it is easy to 1) upload/download files 2) Convenient to rename files 3) easy to monitor log-in activities and 4) convenient to share files. Cons The least that I like is the User access by folder report. In our case since the Directory list is only six rows but the users are 83 columns, I would prefer more rows and less columns that is easy to navigate. I had a question and was able to connect with an agent and get my answer in a matter of a few minutes over online chat. Pros Good budget-friendly data room. Relatively easy to use. Almost everyone is used to working with Firmex and hence makes file sharing simple. Cons UX/UI could be improved. For example, re document management, if I click on a folder, it does not show me the subfolder that are in it in the center view of the screen so I would think it is empty. It also does not highlight a folder name blue on the left-side panel, if all it contains is subfolders. This leads me to think that the folder is empty which is not the case. April 24, 2026 4.0 We have used this platform for years and have had great success. We even have clients request to utilize our data room when they have their own because Firmex is so easy to use. Pros The ease of use for everyone. Administrators down to users find this platform to be very user friendly but still provides the security needed for our data. Cons While the ease of use and the flexibility is a plus, the cost of this platform can be prohibitive to some companies. Although I didn't have experience with VDR, I've found very easy to manage the platform and get it ready for M&A purposes. Pros It's easy to use even without previous knowledge of the platform functionalities. My experience with the support has been very good. Updating/adding/deleting files is easy. Navigate through the platform is easy with its branch-structure. Cons Although I don't have a point for comparison of other data rooms, I've heard that the cost is expensive, much more when storage capacity increase is needed. Our other users that we share the files with also find it easy to use. But the customer service makes the difference- when we need assistant it is important that we get the issue resolved properly. Pros It is very user friendly and style or format is well organized. The customer service has been exceptional. The help team is very knowledgeable, patient, fast response time and is thorough in explaining how to solve a tech issue. Cons How to edit or move/reorder files is a bit challenging to figure out if new to the system. It is difficult to figure out on your own without requesting support. I called to see if I could get bulk download access and my question was quickly answered. Pros The issues I had with it were rectified quickly and efficiently. The phone number to call was easy to find. Cons Not being able to bulk download seemed like a huge issue but then I learned it was a permissions issue and that was remedied. It is unusual to speak to a person for customer support these days. The people I've spoken to are always helpful and stick with you even when the problem is complex. Pros Firmex is user-friendly, even for a first time user, which most of our clients (and often buyers) are. The customer support is also top notch. Cons Until you learn to use it, the uploading of the spreadsheet takes a minute to prepare. I also wished it was easier to add areas when the DD checklist is already uploaded with files already in it. Once you learn how to navigate this, it isn't bad. It is a critical piece of our day to day activities and increases our productivity dramatically. Pros I love how easy is it to set up data rooms and add users with different tiers of access. It allows me to set up permission structures and then just worry about getting the right data in the proper folder. I also like how intuitive the software is - it allows me to onboard clients quickly. Cons I wish they would allow sessions to last longer - I'm in Firmex all day and find that I have to log in many times. I recommend to my friends who need to use a VDR. Pros It is very easy to create new folders and only add select groups to these folders. Additionally, the VDR is very safe and the watermarking feature is great. Cons Sometimes the Q&A tracker is a bit difficult to use, especially when seeing new questions. If there are, it’s usually on my end fixing access settings. Pros The security features that administrators are able to apply are also quite useful to maintain confidentiality.Management and user interface is clean and logical. It is easy for newer users to get used to which is useful for us as we are often working with many different clients.The reporting feature is also quite useful in managing users and documents. Cons Frequent login prompt is a downside. Having the ability to set the duration before being automatically logged out would be helpful.
