Pros: The "memory" feature is amazing. It captures most of my activities and helps me build my time log more easily.

Cons: It needs more "memory" auto-logging features. iOS, Android, as well as being able to log Slack channels.

I use timely everyday in front of our standup meeting for customer support team.

Pros: - the hours view and how to add hours
- your memory function
- the new control view
- the reports view

Cons: - the pdf exports (design, export options)
- I miss pie and bar charts in the app for a better overview (reports view)
- I would like to have weekly email summaries per person or per project (configuration)
- could you jump initially to the current day or week (reports view)?

a must use time tracking tool. Almost no manual input required. Saved me at least 4 hours per month.

Pros: The Memory feature automagically tracking time is a serious game changer. We have "discovered" more billable hours each month and the reports produced for clients show exactly how their money has been spent. And we love the almost zero input required.

Overall: Time saver and found extra billable hours

This helps me keep track of all my hours at different rates for all my contracts

Pros: Organizing hours by client, contract; exporting to excel; ease of use; able to use across ALL my devices; accessible from anywhere.

Cons: Filtering for specific contracts in the reporting environment is a little clunky - not easy to select just one contract as the window disappears and you have to reselect it to get in and pick the e-contract of interest.

Overall: Ease of billing my clients accurately, hours of work and what was done for each period.

Pros: It is very straightforward and I could use it on different platforms. Data is available in the cloud and reporting is as expected.

Cons: Well, I'm not quite happy with the pricing plan. I have started with the free subscription and I think that the lowest subscription plan is too high.

Pros: It's fast, sleek, and has some forward-thinking features that are really smart (like scheduling your time in advance, and the new Memory auto time-tracker).

Cons: It's expensive no matter how you slice it. There's free alternatives out there that do most of the functions, but they don't do it as well.

Overall: Time tracking is a breeze and the memory tracker helps me fill in the gaps.

Pros: It helps me keep track of which hours used on which clients. It has a low threshold to registrer. The mobile app makes it easy to registrer on the go in meetings

Cons: Its on the expensive side. a yearner a single user makes it an expense always in danger of cuts for a small business.

Pros: User interface, user experience and Memory Tracker, which is clearly why I¿m using Timely instead one of the other players in the time tracking game.

Cons: Two weeks of Memory history for the price, the Essential plan is too short in my opinion¿ 1 month would be perfect.

Pros: The software is very easy to use. The look and feel of the interface, was a very strong selling point very professional and slick.

Cons: Lack of relevant apps integration for my business :

Pros: Projects with budgets and different tasks - clients with different projects - tags to measure time spent on different types of tasks - marking projects as billed - timer on tasks - planned time for future tasks

Cons: Ummm.... wish I could set a combined income worth on a project instead of hours. Then as I clock more hours, I see how my hourly income decreases. I often work project-based where I have a set budget and an estimated number of hours set aside for that project. If I choose budget for project and set hourly pay, then if I go over the set time it shows a wrong number while I still get paid only the set amount.

Good user experience. Functions are useful for my projects

Pros: The easy way to enter activities an log hours. Memory is quite amazing and that I can enter activities directly from calendar events.

Cons: Not enough flexibility with regards to pricing individual tasks. Otherwise no special dislikes have surfaced yet

Pros: Timely has a nice and modern interface with all the bells and whistles one has come to expect from high end services. This service is what all the others should have been. Hopeful, more integrations will be implemented so that mass adoption can start.

* Planning is a very useful feature that I have not seen in other similar services.
* The ability to easily create projects; set budgets, hourly rates and so on is nice.

Cons: Windows(desktop Memory) and Android(App) does not seem to be prioritized as much as their OSX and iOS counterparts. This causes some frustration for me as I can see features arrive for the Apple products, but I have to wait 6 months until the Windows/Android equivalent.

Love the software, but it is expensive for Australians. Was free but now costing me about $20AUD/mth

Pros: Memory feature is the bomb, this feature alone has seen me pay more than I wanted. Without it I would abandon the software.

Cons: Cost is more than my accounting software. Reports are not as customisable as they could be. It used to be free for 1 user and I am a 1 person business so was great. Now I am struggling to justify the price. Perhaps a plan for 1 user 5 clients/projects at a lower price would suit.

A truly fantastic time tracking software.

Pros: The design. Just awesome, so easy to use. Works really well technically too. No lag, easy UI and just all round perfect to use.

Cons: Unfortunately the price. Debatably pretty steep but going to continue to use it as as the pros currently outweigh the cons.

Pros: The design is great, it's simple, clean and easy to navigate.

Overall: Timely really made a difference in the way I can track a project more efficiently. It has a clean interface and is very easy to keep everything organized.

Pros: Easily can keep all projects status and budgets.

Cons: Android UI is some how strange design...

Overall: Having several projects simultaneously for a startup or small firm is difficult to track all the projects unless you have some back office member. Timely can be your handy back office keeper even you have no time to go back to the office, or use your desktop. Love this product!

Recommendations to other buyers: UI should be more bold (vivid) color, for some color it is hard to see on the mobile.

Pros: Easy to use with multi user and company views, great reporting for billing and invoicing

Overall: The Timely App has helped me and my business manage our time and billing with such ease that I could not think of a better way to do this than with Timely, it is so easy to use and understand and provides excellent reports so I can see un-billed hours so that we can tell when best to invoice our customers. Pros: Beautiful: As an artist-type, attractive software is important to me. Super easy to use and to make the initial setup. Fun to use: makes a person want to use it. Useful: very easy to read data without using up all your cognitive-abilities trying to figure it out.

Cons: Price, although the discount you provided helps :-)

Overall: After comparing every time tracker imaginable, this one is by far my favorite, and the most attractive. The features are perfectly balanced to make it super-easy to use, and setup. The overlapping expected vs. actual time function is a VERY useful and easy way to see how you can manage your time better. The web UI is fantastic and beautiful, too, and the Memory function makes a clear and most useful timeline record. Sync between devices is flawless, and the Apple Watch app makes it always available. In my opinion, this is one of the best software companies in the world today.

Recommendations to other buyers: Timely is fantastically useful for more than just business. I do use it for business, but I also use it to manage personal art projects, and my personal life in general. Timely is the best tracking and focus aid I have found, and simple and pleasurable enough to use that, as an easily distractable person, I actually remember to use it.

Pros: Design, functionality, speed with which new features are released

Cons: In the past I've had some issues with reliability (lost hours) but this seems to have been fixed over the last few months

Overall: I've tried numerous apps to keep track of my projects and hours and Timely is by far the best app I've come across. It is superior in terms of both design, functionality, and communication/support. Recommend 10/10!

Cons: I miss the built-in Pomodoro reminders in toggl (desktop).

Overall: The unexpected side effect of seeing my tasks in the memory bar was a productivity boost, because I before I felt like "i can't believe it's 3pm and I'm still on this [thing]" and now I can see that actually, a did a bunch of stuff and am now on [this thing]. Also, as an independent who works from home, it helps me plan my time better. Even though I was planning before, I don't like putting work in my calendar. "Planned time" works great and keeps my calendar clean. I kind of wish it had break reminders, but I can use a separate app for that.

Recommendations to other buyers: It's so good at tying up my work day hours with asana and trello tasks achieved that I almost wish I could include my end of day notes in it.

Pros: Extremely easy to use across different devices. Customer support is great on the few times I've needed it.

Cons: I don't dislike anything. The company is good about bringing out new features, which I appreciate. Keep evolving the product!

Overall: I've been a Timely user for a couple of years now, and the product has matured nicely. It has loads of features to help me keep track of work I'm doing for different clients, and the reporting feature makes end-of-month invoicing pretty painless.

I use Timely on my iPhone, iPad and MacBook, and everything transfers from one device to the other seamlessly.

A great product! I highly recommend it!

Pros: The visual, colorful, easy to use interface. The integration with Rescue Time, which helps me remember what I did.

Cons: None. I work in UI/UX and I have no constructive crtiticism for Timely. Well done.

Overall: I started freelancing and had been tracking my hours on scratch paper and Notes files on my phone (it sounds so obviously stupid that I did that, but I hated time trackers from my agency days. I tended to forget to use them and then had to mentally reconstruct my days). It was making my life hectic. I put off invoicing until the last second because it was stressful and I felt guilty - like I had made my hours up. Even if I knew what client I did work for, I almost never remembered to write down what I did. Timely has tools built in to help me remember to track hours, to remember what I worked on, even days later. I also volunteer and hadn't been tracking my non-billable time until Timely. Now I can see how I'm splitting my days. It's made me a better estimator for future work; I never see my own estimates and think "wow, that's way too high a number. I should lower that," because now I have it documented, including the stuff I forget to factor in, like meetings and emails. I recommend this to everyone, especially visual people. It looks just like a calendar interface so there's very little learning curve. Timely is beautiful, easy, and --dare I say it -- rewarding to use.

Recommendations to other buyers: If Timely handled invoicing Or integrated with that I would save even more time, but keep doing your one thing well. It's better than a bloated product.

Comments: As an independent creative producer and arts consultant I wanted an app that could track my time as other freelancer apps, but give me the flexibility to manage the vastness of the projects I work on. Timely's seamless usability across devices, great design that you actually want to look at, colour-coding projects, and the ability to add in project team members as needed to various projects makes it really user friendly. The ability to track projects by different billing rates is key, and also allows me to manage pro-bono work I do. And the tags. I love the tags. And I love the Timely support team. They were, well, timely in their responses and super friendly in resolving issues. Other things I love: the app integration (although I would like to see iCal integrated), as well as Memory. With the planned VS actual logged time stamps on each entry alongside the introduction of Memory, I can better assess project hour estimates and my own productivity. I totally nerd out with this app.

Pros: Memory feature and the app integrations are incredible, design is great

Cons: App integrations can be a bit buggy and my time zone doesn't seem to be fully supported.

Overall: Timely is a fantastic app. It's beautifully designed and the UX is constantly being improved by the team. The tracking features like Memory (still in beta but will be a game-changer) and the app integrations are ahead of everyone else, and (once the bugs are squashed) almost completely automate time tracking. This app is an absolute must-have, and I honestly can't imagine how I ever worked without it.

Overall: I tried several timekeeping products before I finally found Timely and now I can't imagine using anything else. The clean, attractive design is what first drew me in, but the ease of use and ability to customize my timekeeping tasks have made me a devoted user. Added to the mix are friendly customer service and a reasonable cost for my one-person business. I especially love the tags, which allow me to see how my tasks for each project break down ¿ this has helped me be more productive, improved my billing capabilities, and made my estimates more accurate. I can't say enough good things about Timely!

Cons: Wish there was a way to track time where I can start/stop on certain projects... say for instance, I start working at 11:00 on a project, but at 11:22 I get a phone call unrelated to the project. I'd like to be able to easily start and stop and have the software calculate for me.

Overall: Timely helps me stay honest with my time reporting - not just to my clients, but to also measure where my time is best spent and where I am wasting time on certain tasks. Helps me stay productive and focused.

Pros: Flexibility and integration with other online/cloud systems as GSuite, Trello, etc.

Cons: Inserting projects names and data could be streamlined some more.

Overall: Timely has brought in valuable asset in tracking time in an efficient manner, both by allowing to plan though the calendar as well as through tracking integrated plug-ins and the mobile app.

Recommendations to other buyers: The possibility to customize the system through connection via APIs would be a must, for example being able to upload a list of clients or clients data through CSV files would help saving time in filling the information in Timely and allowing better integration of in the office ecosystem.

Cons: Sometimes it glitches and doesn't save my changes. I wish I could set a budget for a project and when it runs out, no more is added to my balance (because that's how my flat rate projects work in real life -- even though it is useful to know how long I have worked over my budget)

Overall: I use this all day every day. It has not only allowed me to help keep an accurate record of my freelance hours , but it is pretty and satisfying to use. Seeing my custom color palette blocks grow along with the weekly balance is the progress I need to keep going. There are times when it can be slightly glitchy (I use it on Chrome), but nothing a simple refresh can't handle. Also, the continuing updates and upgrades are only increasing how seamlessly this is integrated into my workflow.

Timely gives you more freedom through it's simplicity. It just works.

Pros: Color coding, planned vs logged time, easy project completion by percentage view, drag and drop.

Overall: It's rare to find a great product and attentive customer support in the same place. Before Timely, I was frustrated trying to work on specific tasks within a predefined calendar slot. If I missed a slot, the entire day felt off. Timely allows me to use color coding for specific categories of work like marketing or content creation, dragging & dropping as the day progresses. Being able to see planned vs. logged time is another winner. This gives me more freedom to have a successful day and get stuff done!

Recommendations to other buyers: Seeing the current project's logged time incrementing in the browser tab would be useful. Or seeing planned vs. logged or even a countdown timer in the browser tab. This would allow easy reference when working on tasks during the day.

Overall: Everything about Timely has been great. It does everything I need for managing the hours I work for each of my clients. Having a list of clients with projects makes allocation easy.

The Timely team has been very helpful and communicative when dealing with an issue that required some major development work. I was very impressed with this.

The only extra feature I can think of that would be perfect for me is the ability to grab items from within the apps (on the day page) and add them to an entry. I can easily create an entry from one of the app items but to add app items to an entry would be handy.

Otherwise I have nothing but praise for the software and the team.

Pros: Being able to customize projects (which I used as task).

Cons: There is no way to calculate the amount spent on a particular project/task per week. I had to count the hours myself. That would be extremely beneficial for individuals who do grant work and use this app for one project with many different task (ex. 1. Meeting time with Partners = 4 hours this week, 2. Preparation time = 2 hours this week, 3. Developing Materials = 10 hours this week), etc.).

Overall: I can't tell you how many apps that I have tried using to document my time that made sense to the work that I was doing. For those familiar with being a grant funded employee, everything has to be written down and I found it difficult with tracking hours and calculating them for the week. Also at any given time I could be working on any one of the twenty-six aspects of my project; making keeping time more difficult. This was no problem with Timely as I was about to customize task, color code, set a timer when working on task simultaneously and easily calculate hours by the end of the week.

This is definitely the application to use if you are looking for something more specific.

Overall: We would very much love to see Zendesk officially supported by Timely. Regarding your github implementation, it would be nice if it worked everyday, sometimes it just list no commits even though my account have several commits that day. Memories could be extended a bit, I very much miss the option to select one window to track, and when it is inactive (no keyboard or mouse usage) explicit track that timespan as a new block, this would be nice to track interruptions at work. Love your product :)

Comments: I've looked at a number of different options, and am glad I settled on Timely. It's very helpful with invoicing, and its interface is simple and intuitive. The new features are awesome (particularly the tagging and time recording systems), and work well; despite the influx of new features, I haven't run into any major bugs. The app does have some trouble calculating hours/income when they're first recorded, but a refresh gets it back in order. Very happy with this product.

Cons: At the start I encountered many problems with the integration of the calendars etc, outlook wouldn't integrate at all. I swifted to a gmail agenda which is taken into account.

Overall: As a consultant supporting several projects, timely is a very easy to use and quick way to keep track on time spent on each activity. I have it on my PC, MAC and iPhone, and logging time is done in seconds. It synchronises instantly across platforms provided they are online. I also use Move on my iPhone and I really look forward to have these two functions come together shortly.

Recommendations to other buyers: For a consultant in my business, for some projects, payment is agreed as a fixed price for supporting the whole project from start to end, i.e. when I delivered my report I am paid the full agreed amount. I then use the "Money budget" with an hourly rate to see progress. I then follow the percentage bar to see how I am doing. Sometimes I am done at 70% and then I am very satisfied. Other pjojects I end up far beyond 100% and then I guess my planning or efficiency was bad. Other projects pay a retainer fee (normally monthly) calculated based on a forcast/estimate of activites. A third variant is that I have a retainer fee as a basis, and in addition, I get paid by the hour or days for activities agreed being above the agreed basic retainer fee. I would therefore like to see a third option in addition to the "time budget" and "money budget". On the money budget, I put the retainer fee and insert an hourly rate. Then I can see if i am paid fairly, i.e. at the end of the month. to I end around 100% with the hours spent. I guess I am after a third option or a combination of the two. Now it is either or, Time or money. Now I solve this by splitting up the projects into the retainer portion and the over-and-above portion. I hope this was not too complicated.

Cons: The new tags system and the 'billed' vs 'unbilled' do not work together very well. Pausing an entry sometimes fails and the counter keeps going.

Overall: I am very happy with this app. I have used, and built a few, time tracking systems, and am amazed by the thought and detail put into this service.

Comments: I am in a consultant position where emails, meetings, and projects fill my day. I was using Toggl but found that I had to "remember" to go back through my email, my projects, my calendar all manually and try to piece together what happened each day. The UI frustrated me and wasn't conducive to playing "catch up". It seemed like Toggl is best suited for those that always have a timer running.

I am working on multiple things at once, am interrupted often, and a timer isn't necessarily the best method to track time.

After finding Timely, this changed. I love time tracking. I can drag and drop all of the emails I sent for the day with the Gmail integration, drag and drop my meetings of the day with the Google Calendar integration. My time tracking is fun, easy, and I don't feel like I'm playing catchup, I'm just recording what I'm doing on various channels!

Comments: I have been using Timely for years now, and its completely transformed my billing and process. When I first started to use it, i was a freelancer, so found it extremely useful to log the precise timings of the varied jobs I had to work on throughout a day. Now I look after a team and spend much more time on Skype and in email and such, which is harder to bill. However with the introduction of the new day planner and connected apps, I plugged in Rescuetime and Trello. Now and a don't miss a single task during the day. Timely is the first app I open in the morning. Great work guys. Keep it up!

Comments: I love the app, it helps me to keep track of my projects and to be able to set different rates for each one is really handy.

Here are a few options I'd like to see implemented:
- Whenever I want to delete an entry, I'd like to have either a small X on the top right corner or an option to click it once and hit the delete key. its way faster than clicking on it then looking for the Delete link.
- Please please add a"keywords" option. not tags, keywords! That is so when the app receives a new entry from my google calendar it reads the text, look for specific words and automatically set the project based on these words. i.e: if the appointment has "ACME"in it, it will set the project to the ACME one. That way I can set the projects straight from my Google Calendar ;)

Overall: I use timely on a daily basis, and it love it. I can plan my week ahead, manage my workload so I know if I can take on another job or not. It even tells me how much I will probably make this week, when I've filled in all the right elements in my project's page. It shows me how much more I can work on a project, and because it shows planned as well as logged, I can inform my clients way ahead when our budget limits are in sight.
Logging is a gem. At the office I just start and stop on my mac or iPad. When I'm on the road, iPhone and the Apple Watch step in. And if these two failed - because it was too caught up to remember logging - I can fall back on automated input from Moves, Trello or Rescuetime. I never miss a minute. Even planning works that smooth.
Before I had Timely I was juggling all kinds of notes, tables, papers... I was constantly panicking. Will I have enough time for this, have I been working enough, do we still have budget for this, can I take on another job... Now I have peace of mind. Timely is my beloved assistant.

Comments: As a freelance designer, I track hours across countless projects and clients, often tracking work for a half dozen different accounts in a day. Timely, finally allows me to easily track everything I need to, and nothing I don't. It's a lean mean system that is easy to use, quick to learn, produces great reports for invoices and provides easy to understand analysis of your accounts as they relate to your time and the money you're making. It's also pretty, which for me is huge.

I've used all sorts of other systems for tracking freelance work and within firms as well. None of them allow you to just work. Timely does. Timely is svelte and just lets me focus on my work.

Comments: Timely is perfect for my needs as I am a freelance graphic designer juggling jobs in between looking after my family. The only other features I think would be useful would be one that sends me a message to check if I still want the clock running as sometimes I forget to stop it!! It would also be useful if you could invoice direct from timely. Otherwise it's perfect and I love it!!!

Pros: It imports your calendar to timesheets. This is a killer feature for me and the way I work. I can also easily reference emails, to do lists and rescue time data right in the UI. I use it daily and no longer stress about recording my time for large projects.

Cons: Sometimes it feels like beta software in that the UI can be slow or have a few small inconsistencies.

Overall: I love to capture my timesheet details from calendars, email, to-do lists etc directly into timely. It's a great premise for a product and it works well.

Recommendations to other buyers: The development team is very accessible and responsive.

Comments: Worth the money. It's easy to use and powerful at the same time. You can export your hours in PDF and XLS. It has tags, projects, and day view.

Overall: I've been using Timely for about a year now. The app has greatly improved since the redesign, both in usability and in speed. Keep up the good work!

Recommendations to other buyers: It would be nice if i could add new project right from the hours screen.

Pros: ability to use project cumulative hours and price per hour to bill. Easy to enter time and the phone app helps when you are on the client and do not have your computer.

Overall: Timely is so easy to use and they strive at Timely to make it a better experience with their clients. They are always available to hear your suggestions and use them !. I make much more money due to Timely cause I can accurately time my interactions with my clients. And I use it to bill too!

Comments: Before finding Timely, I was reviewing some 20-30 different time recording services and they all were kind of ..crap, means totally missing what my primary goal is. And the goal is to have as little as possible interaction with a time tracking service, while still maintaining precise and trustful accountability. This is exactly why I like Timely: you always have the ability to record your time at your fingertips, have a short overview at any time and get monthly reports automatically done for you. Worth each penny!

Comments: Timely's different from all the other time tracking apps I've used. It's easy to use, fast, and uses a kanban-like design that makes it easy to drag and drop entries from one day to another. If it could build even more integrations with other task/project management apps, it would definitely make a lot of Timely users happy.

The only thing I can think of that needs improvement is their customer service availability. I'd leave messages and it would take the team days to get back to me. But other than that, the app is a joy to use.

Pros: How easy it makes logging time and toggling between several projects every day. Great customer service too!

Cons: Some bugs at the moment, but we know you're fixing it. Still love Timely Overall: The most user-friendly time logging application I have ever used. So easy to toggle between projects. When a client calls, I have already switched logging before I answer the phone. The graphic user interface looks great, and it really makes logging time fun!

Pros: The ability to schedule tasks in advance with a calendar view of your time and projects.

Cons: A limited number of projects for the free version is too low, should be at least 10.

Overall: One of the best time tracking apps that also allows you to schedule tasks in advance. Great integrations with things project management apps like Trello and project budgets make this a great tool for business owners.

Pros: Ease of use and reporting!

Overall: I've been looking for more than 25 years for the right tools for time tracking, reporting and detailed invoicing! TImely covers that with the integration of multiple apps including both the time tracking of professional time and personal time! Fantastic and innovative solutions. Thank you, to our rep and your team! I've never been so focused in my life!

Recommendations to other buyers: Please add a function to track disbursements and expenses. Please add a function to generate invoices including times, expenses, and taxes.

Pros: It works as a time tracking tool should work.

Cons: It's still not available on Android.

Overall: I've tried several time tracking tools, but I never found any as good as Timely. It is really easy to use and I can keep track of my team, my business projects. It has really good integrations with other tools and software that I use that makes time tracking even easier. And one of the best features is that we can filter and export reports for each team member, project or budget.

Recommendations to other buyers: Is great for small teams, and it even has a free plan for personal use.

Really good at what it does.
