It's a powerful and versatile platform that works well for both simple websites and more complex projects. I especially appreciate being able to manage and update content independently without needing technical support for everyday changes. There is a bit of a learning curve when you move beyond the basics, but the flexibility and huge ecosystem of plugins and integrations make it a very practical solution overall. Pros What I like most about WordPress is its flexibility. It's relatively easy to use for everyday website management, even without advanced technical knowledge, while still offering a huge range of customisation options through themes and plugins. Cons The main downside is that managing plugins, updates and compatibility can sometimes become complicated. I usually use php, css, html to create sections and craft a beautiful website. But this time I used Wordpress with other plugins and it saved me a lot of time because their visual layout was nice. Click and drop. The main learning curve was finding where to add these code snippets or personalized css. But there’s a lot of information and tutorials so was quite easy. Pros I like how easy is and also is well integrated with other tools. Even if you don’t know how to code, you can built a website for free. The mobile experience is also nice. Their plugin library is amazing. Cons It could be quite confusing for a programmer because I couldn’t find the settings I wanted to change. With codes is easier. Pros My small business has been using wordpress for many years and it is reliable, and user friendly. Once you learn where things are the page layout is predictable and makes editing easy which saves time over always having product updates with changes that make you have to re-learn where things are. Cons Probably what I like least is that I don't receive many emails or on screen tips to let me know about new ways, tips, tricks or optimizations to do. It worked well for publishing content and there are a lot of themes and layout options. For basic updates it was easy enough, but anything beyond that often needed help from IT Pros WordPress gives you a lot of freedom with page layouts, templates and plugins. Adding blogs, news and simple content changes is fairly easy once everything is setup. There are also plenty of developers who know WordPress, so finding support is not difficult. Cons Page editing was not always as simple as it looks. Many small layout changes still needed a developer. An update could sometimes break something that was working fine before. The site can also get slower when too many plugins are installed, and you still have to think about hosting, backups, updates and general maintenance. Also, customers service is a bit lacking. Pros Provides maximum flexibility and ease of use for Wordpress specifically. The interface is intuitive, and there is a wide variety of free and paid themes to suit every need. Cons It doesn't include enough built in functionality for a store. Multiple plugins are required, and they aren't all easy to use. Also, the level of customer service varies a LOT. I love that WordPress can make a simple and fast site for a brand new business - or can be full fledged and robust for a large company. Pros I love developing in WordPress - I love watching it grow and seeing new features added. It makes me excited to see all the things WordPress can do. Cons The WordPress community has been fracturing and Matt Mullenweg's behavior is concerning. I don't love worrying that a CMS I've been using for 20ish years could vanish due to his whims. We are now ranking organically for many key phrases. Pros WordPress is the easiest and most customizable open website programming system. It allows me to choose from thousands of plugins to accomplish anything you could ever want a website to do and all for free. If I ever have any issues I can usually find a solution online from someone else who already fixed it or found a work around. There is always so much that you can do by using extra plugins, and even with the default editors, it allows for flexibility with any website. Pros WordPress is a great, flexible software that allows for websites to be customised to suit your needs. You can use plugins to make a website fit to any business, and there is so much that can be done with the tools that are available. The CMS is also easy to pick up and use, and we have had new starters be able to edit and amend websites quickly with little prior knowledge. Cons The editor is great to use for most amendments, such as text changes, but it would be great if there were even more tools added to allow for more flexibility with design. There's been times when I have been frustrated with the platform but due to it's widespread use and open source nature, fixes are almost always readily available. Pros It's very easy to install with almost any hosting platform. It's also very easy to self host. Updates are easy and can even be set to auto install so that you can always have the latest security updates. Cons There are many vulnerabilities. This is mostly due to it's popularity as it powers more websites than any other platform. I recommend the GeneratePress template for a clean, flexible build. Pros As one of the few open source content management systems, WordPress is in a different league to other CMS options. Free to download, there is no better value for money. Since the inclusion of Gutenburg, WP has been easier to use. Woo Commerce is a fantastic plugin for ecommerce. Cons There is a frustrating bug at the moment which is affecting the scheduling of posts. The Gutenburg block system could also be improved with more sophisticated user controls. I started with free templates and upgraded to better paid version. Wordpress can accommodate everything for your blog, literally everything. The price is really accessible, and descriptuions and faqs make everythign so easy. I wish they had a better support system, but for price you can't really beat it. Pros Easy to use for beginners, lots of plugins, good price. Lots of free templates to chose from, and easy navigation. Cons Some parts are difficult to navigate, could require little more work for beginners. I wish they had a better support.
