### "May not be the best choice depending on what you need"

April 2, 2020

4.0

Overall it's been good, but that's because I know what I'm doing. I've run into speed bumps with plugins or functionality here and there, but nothing detrimental.

Pros

Wordpress is great if you know how to use it (big learning curve) and if you're not using it for eCommerce. Wordpress is not straightforward, and you would need training or a lot of experience. It's impossible to build a good website in Wordpress if you don't know what you're doing. Wordpress is great for plugins as well, and most plugins have a free option and great customer support.

Cons

Wordpress can still be used for eCommerce, but not optimal because the eCommerce plugins don't work really well with Wordpress, they're difficult to setup, and they slow the website down a lot. If you're running a pure eCommerce website, I would recommend Shopify or a similar platform dedicated to eCommerce. Shopify also makes it easy for people with no web design experience.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)[Shopify](https://www.capterra.com/p/83891/Shopify/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

I didn't like Wix at all. Shopify is best for eCommerce and easy web building. Wordpress is good for the most customization and control (if you know what you're doing).

### "Wordpress - the best cms. period"

August 30, 2018

5.0

i love it. I use it daily and make new websites with it monthly. There is also a tonne of resource to help clients whenever they need help.

Pros

I like that wordpress will be there for the long haul.. learning wordpress means that it isnt something that is going away anytime soon. IT will be here for lifie. sure it will change and update, but its so integral to how the internet works,

Cons

it does take a long time for big changes to happen in it. I mean guthenberg, which is an update to the text editor, has been talked about for well over a year and still isnt officially integrated.

### "Manage web pages and blogs easily."

May 30, 2018

5.0

I create and manage a couple of pages with wordpress and the truth is that it is very easy to add and edit information.

Pros

Without knowing much of programming, I can create beautiful web pages and manage them easily, I forget the programming, since WordPress has many tools that make my life easier, I can find all kinds of free add-ons and themes, as well as payments.

Cons

There are some add-ons that can damage the CMS in such a way that it is useless what causes the work to be wasted. Ideally, do not download add-ons or themes from any strange page, as it could be a headache.

### "WordPress- Best CMS to develop webpages"

November 4, 2018

4.0

We are using WordPress for designing and developing websites used in our company. Back end is managed using MySql and the server is easy to set up.

Pros

Wordpress is the widely used management system for webpages. Its the CMS that was just used for developing blogs but now Users can add forms, email lists, links and many more. It based on php and MySql. Best thing is that it is free and open source so developers can customise according to their needs.

Cons

Its risky to add extensions in WordPress as its open source so might be having bugs. Moreover it the most easy and reliable CMS.

### "The best part? Plugins!!!"

October 5, 2016

4.0

Our company recently updated our website and moved it to Wordpress. Working in Wordpress has been very straightforward in most instances. Most of the tools are very user-friendly and it is easy to create a professional looking website without extensive knowledge of site-building. Working within the templates and presets can give you a great looking site easily, but if you want to alter things outside of those presets it can get difficult really quickly. Adding custom touches to elements will require someone that has experience with coding. Luckily, there are SO many available plugins that you can almost always find one to accomplish what you are looking for and most of the time they are free. This is really the best part of Wordpress; the possibilities to expand are limitless using plugins.

Pros

\- Very user-friendly within the templates and presets - Tons of useful plugins for most anything you can think of

Cons

\- Some seemingly simple customizations will require coding knowledge - Some settings can be difficult to find

### "Offers a variety of functionalities "

February 6, 2020

4.0

WordPress has been a great tool for us to manage our blog posts as well as manage the engagement (comments, likes, etc.) on the posts.

Pros

I enjoy being able to use WordPress for a variety of different functions. Our company uses WordPress for blog posts mostly, but we have used WordPress to manage client sites as well. It's a great low-cost option if you are looking to use it for a blog. WordPress has a ton of great plugins to customize the blog or site to your liking!

Cons

It is not really "beginner-friendly". There is some learning that needs to be done prior to jumping in.

### "Mr.WordPress"

September 24, 2021

WordPress is a content management systemsoftware that allows you to create your own varied websites quite easily, is extremely easy to use. It can be configured very quickly and its ergonomics are particularly intuitive. The management of pages, themes, links, media and plugins is done in a very fluid and simplified way.It is an great option for anyone interested in hosting a high-quality website.

Pros

WordPress is advantageous because it has a large number of free quality plugins and themes in the database, which allows you to add a lot of functionality to your website. On the other hand, WordPress is a popular platform that has a large support community that invites developers to help each other out. Infinitely scalable and customizable, WordPress is a complete and versatile website creation solution that installs quickly and easily, while being easy to administer. It should be added that WordPress always adapts to web standards to improve security, and that is why it offers frequent updates.

Cons

Startup issues cannot be resolved without seeking external help. This software would be super efficient with some integration addons.

### "Wordpress is a very excellent tools on making dynamically and content rich websites."

July 11, 2018

Pros

Firstly, WordPress is built into a solid programming language you can expect that it is very stable. Secondly, it is can be hosted directly to your own hosting server with a simple installation process then you can have your fully functional WordPress in less than 5 minutes. In terms of SEO they are among the top so you can expect they will do their job done.

Cons

If you are installing wordpress yourself you need to have at least basic background in programming language such as PHP. Wordpress can be slow sometimes due to its infrastructure.

I began using WordPress a couple of years ago and since then I haven't considered other product for the same job.

Pros

This blog platform is way more than that. It allows you to create full websites with a bunch of features using dedicated plugins.

Cons

I don't think that there is something I don't like about this product. It's under constant development and so far I had a great experience using it.

### "Great for developers, but not for everyone else."

February 12, 2021

5.0

Mixed. I think the flexibility of the platform offers limitless potential for websites of any size and scale. If any business or individual needs a custom website that is 'outside-of-the-box' yet accessible enough for any person to add blogs, and change images/headers themselves, I would definitely recommend WordPress. However, if the website was a simple 3-page website with generic modules or something as simple as a store, I would suggest WIX, Squarespace or HubSpot are better alternatives.

Pros

Highly flexible, you can create basically any website you can think of. The caveat is, you need to be a developer or highly skilled in website development to pull a custom website. Templates are easy, but anything outside of a basic store or blog and you will likely need some coding and development skills.

Cons

The barrier of entry. Every time I've used WordPress custom coding has been required to pull off the features needed on the website. The UX is also a bit dated and not intuitive. I would argue WordPress does not offer a user-friendly for the general public when CMS's like WIX and HubSpot offer a far better and simpler UX with less or no coding required.

Reason for choosing WordPress

Less cost and more flexibility to add extensions and plugins that HubSpot simply did not offer.

### "WordPress - Worth it?"

October 13, 2021

5.0

Overall I think this is one of the best software for people who are looking to build softwares for the first time and even for experienced people. It's really inexpensive and easy to use, but there are certain problems etc but I think they will be updating it frequently, so that's sorted.

Pros

The thing I like about this software is that it's free to use and you can build a website of any kind using the themes, plugins and features available. It's also easy to edit or make websites, considering you have a basic knowledge about building a website or about plugins etc. But even if you don't know anything, you can learn it simply from internet and do it yourself.

Cons

Default SEO is not that good. And also another thing about it is that it's kind of hard for you to do everything by yourself (it's possible, but might be hard for some). There are many plugins available in the WordPress itself and you kind of have to learn or know how those work. It's a bit of an hassle, but definitely can be done.

### "Best CMS Out Of The Box For Everyone"

February 1, 2019

5.0

I recommend Wordpress to everyone starting a business or website because it's so easy. My experience has had some bumps when customizing Wordpress, overall it's been a net positive. It's a great CMS.

Pros

This just works out of the box. It's fast. It's easy. It's got a massive developer ecosystem. You can also Google your way to help if you are having issues. Plugins are for the most part, great. Some great premium plugins in the ecosystem as well. Easy to host and setup from a developer/server perspective.

Cons

Some plugins can be outdated/security risks. Some customization are harder to do.

### ""Best in Website building for Beginners""

May 30, 2019

4.0

I would highly recommend for beginners to start their work with this.

Pros

I am using WordPress for about 5 years. I found a lot of pros using this software. Initially, I was not aware of how to build a website as I was not that much good in technology. Once I was checking on the Internet and found WordPress. It is the easiest way to build a website. Just drag and drop kind. Pretty much easy.

Cons

If you need to build some more dynamic website this is not your place. It is good for simple websites but in the case of large websites, you have to use Java or .net.

### "Just use Wix or Squarespace"

February 27, 2019

3.0

'Wordpress Devs' are typically bottom of the barrel developers. The ecosystem is pretty trashy. I actively avoid any wordpress installation that has not been deployed in house. Usually clients are sold wordpress as a solution by an offshore developer when they would be better off with WIx or Squarespace or something like Click Funnels.

Pros

Wordpress will allow almost anyone to manage a blog. This includes customizing the interface and posting/editing content. There are many plugins, adding functionality in various ways. As a system administrator its relatively easy to deploy and it allow users to update the code without going onto the server. If you want just a blog it is a good tool.

Cons

My problem with wordpress is when it is extended by various plugins to become something besides a blog. This usually happens with woocommerce or something else that lets a user take a credit card. Generally, marketers will hire what they think is a developer that is in fact just a designer who can use wordpress. Inevitably, the 'developer' will install tons of plugins trying to achieve various things to please the client before giving up and moving on. The client will then take the mess to an actual dev who cannot throw away what the client sees as an asset. In every case but a blog there is always a better solution!

Pros

This brings a huge smile on my face that wordpress gives me ability to create content and bring it to the world and online media with ease in no time.

Cons

There are some features that are missing in the native wordpress install but we can always extend it using plugins of our need. The only fear is that how much we can trust third party plugins for out wordpress site.

### "Thanks to wordpress I learned how to develop websites ..!"

July 5, 2018

5.0

Wordpress helped me to decide to study Computer Science and devote myself to developing websites.

Pros

Wordpress I love, I learned to create websites thanks to this CMS because there is a lot of documentation and many forums where we can clarify any questions we have. We can download and use it for free, there are also many free templates that we can use for our projects and that allows us to change the designs of our websites very easily. There are also many plugins available for wordpress, depending on the website we can integrate a plugin that provides the functionality we need, wordpress is very good compared to other similar CMS, its features and functionalities cover most of the requirements to create professional websites and quality.

Cons

Your code is a bit difficult to modify, I have needed to make specific modifications within your source code and I find it very difficult. The first blog I made with wordpress suffered spam attacks, over time I learned that wordpress websites are commonly attacked and we should try to install plugins to prevent them.
