### "WordPress for Academic Blogging and Digital Exhibitions"

April 24, 2022

5.0

My overall experience with WordPress has been very positive. It's a great resource to launch and publish websites, blogs, and media collections very easily. it's amazing to be able to post content to the web immediately to promote access across all system variants.

Pros

I most like the customization features of WordPress, and how the tool can be successfully deployed to give every author a visual toolbox to create a digital collage that corresponds aesthetically or thematically with their intended vision. The tool can be implemented readily in student portfolio assignments, while advancing goals of multimedia engagement, interactivity, and dialogic narrativity. Additionally, our enterprise license does not permit commercial interactions, but this is an exciting angle that I would be interested in pursuing for future student and personal entrepreneurship initiatives that I'd be interested in exploring in non-academic contexts.

Cons

WordPress is a phenomenal tool, but successful use of the tool benefits greatly from users having at least preliminary knowledge of HTML. Although the WYSIWIG editor makes administrative features of the site accessible to all authors and editors, HTML and CSS customization features significantly enhance the efficacy and import of presented content.

### "My experience with WordPress"

May 4, 2019

5.0

WordPress was a good and nice experience for me, and it definetely satisfied my blogging needs. I can´t say it was always smooth, specially when trying to customize my blog, but generally speaking I liked it a lot, specially the statistic data it provides for you and the community. I met a lot of really cool people from different countries through this site that shared my interests and published similar things to mine and that was a very enriching experience. My articles and stories got a fairly good traffic, all things considered, and I can say it mantains the time-money-value balance. Would encourage you to give it a try if you don´t mind taking your time to understand the settings.

Pros

I used WordPress for blogging for almost two years. It was a personal blog in which I published opinion pieces and short stories mostly and my experience was generally good. I really like the fact that you can select from a varity of templates that are actually nice and aesthetic, unlike other sites and softwares that provide you ten templates at most of them kind of ugly. It allows a certain flexibility to personalize your site and to rearrange the templates. I also like that you can save entries and program them to automatically get published at a specific date and time, which is super useful. The community in general is nice and wide, you can find blogs of every topic and people that share your interests, which is really cool. It also has very nice options to show you the statistics of your site, like how many people are visiting your blog, how did they find it, which words they googled to find your articles, etc. That information is really useful to improve your site´s traffic. I would go back to WordPress without a doubt if I ever started blogging again.

Cons

I did not love the blog administrator interface. I think it can be more intuitive. Sometimes I struggled to understand how to edit certain aspects of my blog, because I just could not find the option. I said before that you can edit and rearrange your template, and this is really cool, but sometimes it can be tricky to understand how to do it or to get exactly the look you are going for. You move something to the right and suddenly it is back again in the left and you don´t even know why. Templates misbehave. Or they did back in my blogging days. Still, if you have enough time and patience, or you are not that much of a perfectionist, you can probably overlook this cons, they are not that big of a deal.

### "Easy to use, but some work to be done"

May 23, 2022

5.0

In gereral, we have been working with wordpress for almost one year, and they are definitely a company that we look up to. We are very happy with our product and the customer service was always top notch at answering our needs during the process.

Pros

Wordpress is a user-friendly app in general, but you need to know what you are doing. They are probably the best website builder in the market for both beginner/intermediate to more advanced designers. You can basically build any template you wish and this can be applied to whatever industry your business is in. You need a few guidelines, which are well provided by the platform and you can easily get the final product that you have wished for.

Cons

Even with great templates, there is still some complex functionalities in general in order for you to get where you want to be. In my case, we needed some programming as well, as the default templates did not offer exactly what we were looking for. In the end, we were able to get exactly what our web designers first brainstormed. We are still having some issues with the API/ICAL connection, but this may be an issue from our programmer or channel manager and not Wordpress.

### "WordPress does it all. Awesome for beginners and advanced users."

September 28, 2021

4.0

WordPress helps me a lot, from presenting my product to getting leads, it's really a helping hand for any entrepreneur.

Pros

It's so easy to use, there's so much information online, plugins, makes it a no brainer to start using, especially if you have a bunch of files and posts to do. It's so well managed behind the screen that anyone can edit anything.

Cons

Sometimes some plugins conflict with others, but it's fairly easy to fix or change the plugin you use. So although sometimes some stuff can happen, it's easy to get around it.

Reason for choosing WordPress

Ease of use and price, especially. Also, there's a bunch of developers our there who know how to configure things for you, so there's a lot of people for hire.

### "WordPress had been awesome"

December 28, 2019

5.0

I've been using WordPress to build websites for my business and also for clients. Also I train people on how to use WordPress, thereby generating revenue for my business. I love WordPress so much because of its ease of use, stability, and large community. Also that WordPress is free to use is very beautiful.

Pros

I've been using WordPress for about three years, and it's been amazing. I like a whole lot of things about WordPress, and those things includes: 1. Short learning curve: unlike other Content Management Systems (CMS) I've used, WordPress have a very short learning curve. It's beginner friendly, and even those without prior knowledge about website designing using CMS can get over it in just a few hours. 2. Ease of Use: Using WordPress to design a website is very easy, and you can build a website in 30mins or less. 3. Free to use: WordPress is an open source CMS, and is free to use. 4. Availability of Support: WordPress works with themes and plugins, and the developers of the themes and plugins I've used had been supportive. 5. Availability of free themes and plugins: There is a huge database of amazing free plugins and themes to get one started immediately. 6. Huge community: WordPress have a whole lot of user base, and this had led to a large number of both online and offline communities. Finding solution to bugs is easy due to the availability of those supportive communities. 7. Ease of managing WordPress websites: Managing WordPress websites is very easy compared to some other CMS I've used. One only need to login to the admin dashboard, and from there the website can be managed easily. One can post contents and edit already existing ones without having to go to the Cpanel of the website hosting account, or using File Transfer (FTP) softwares.

Cons

It is very hard to point out anything I don't like about WordPress. The only turn off of some sort for me is that some WordPress themes and plugins can be expensive. This is not a big issue as there is almost always an alternative.

Reason for choosing WordPress

I chose WordPress because of its ease of use, and the beautiful outlook of websites designed with it.

### "Default option for any level of professional website"

May 7, 2019

4.0

I have been using Wordpress since it was first released. I gave up on it for years and then returned to it when it was becoming more of a CMS. I got frustrated with the limited development of important apps at the time like Buddypress and gave up again other than for blogging and if a client specifically wanted WP. Joomla is a lot better conceived as a CMS. Before WP and Joomla, I used phpNuke, post-nuke, xaraya, mambo and several other CMS and have since used or tested most of the contemporary options such as Drupal.

Pros

Best availability and quality of support available from third party products. For almost all needs there is a Wordpress option to plugin or API and there are quality developers always available.

Cons

It has become the default CMS. As a CMS it is not as elegant or modular as it should be and it was not designed to be a CMS but because of the other benefits it offers it is now the best option as a CMS.

Alternatives considered

[Drupal](https://www.capterra.com/p/119594/Drupal/)[Joomla](https://www.capterra.com/p/161648/Joomla/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

I used Drupal for application specific projects because there are some high quality options in areas such as LMS. But the default for me became Joomla, because of the very logically conceived and modular administration. From the very beginning of Joomla, infighting amongst lead developers reverberated to the whole community. Poor support from the best 3rd party developers has always been a problem for Joomla and the fact that many of them are scattered across the globe makes it a bigger problem. Compared to WP in particular, WP has become a better option unless your goal is very specific as a CMS where you can use the better Joomla administration without the need for missing 3rd party options. Even when Joomla was a legitimate or possibly superior option to WP, the overhead (number of calls on single transaction) was ridiculous. But for Joomla enthusiasts you lived with this for superior site administration. There remain a handful of third party apps that are superior on Joomla but many of the best have either come out with a WP option or completely abandoned Joomla for WP. Because of the extensive options WP offers in this area, you can also come up with better quality options and professionally supported 3rd party apps/plugins/themes. If you are based in the U.S. or enjoy the quality that U.S. based support offers, then WP is also leaps and bounds superior to any other option.

### "WordPress is awesome but you need a template framework to make it rock"

January 26, 2021

5.0

WordPress is free and is regularly updated to address security concerns, fix bugs, and add features. It is a dynamic project that will be around for the foreseeable future and therefore a safe choice for a long term website project.

Pros

I have used WordPress for a decade now. The most widely-used content management software in the world has grown a lot during that decade, with features added that make the software far easier to use and which incorporate standard web design tasks. There are literally thousands of templates created by thousands of designers. The problem with those is that template sets often get abandoned after a few years as designers move on, and do not keep pace with WordPress upgrades. Instead of committing to a soon-to-be obsolete individual template, check out template frameworks. A template framework works like any WordPress theme but bring a host of new features on top of WordPress' default features. Template frameworks add power to WordPress and, maintained by companies, are less likely to become abandonware. Template frameworks rely on child themes, allowing you to learn the functionality of the framework and incorporate that into your regular web work, while keeping the visual design separate. Time spent invested in learning a template framework is less likely to end a few years later with you having to redo the website after a designer abandons updating their template. There are two main template frameworks that people use—StudioPress' Genesis and Elegant Themes' Divi. Both have advantages and disadvantages. People more familiar with programming are likely to find Genesis flexible. Divi has a lot of fun features. Explore frameworks. They take WordPress to the next level.

Cons

The time spent learning WordPress and template frameworks is not trivial. However, the flexibility once you're past the learning curve is worth the effort.

Alternatives considered

Pros

Cons

We built a new documentation portal for a new project. WordPress has been an invaluable solution for all our content management requirements. Within a span of 3 months, we were able to go live with most of the content published to the portal. We could also save drafts and schedule them for publication on a certain date of release.

Pros

WordPress is extremely feature rich. The ease of use and configuring the functionalities makes it stand out in comparison with platforms platforms for creating a website.

Cons

Updating certain plugins can break a website due to incompatibility. Non compatible plugins are difficult to identify since most of them seem to be certified for the WordPress version.

### "Wordpress as a best CMS"

October 5, 2022

The WordPress platform is easy to use, flexible and versatile. It is a great tool for people who want to build their own website or blog. It provides an easy-to-use interface that lets you create your website from scratch. I’ve been using WordPress for years and I find it very intuitive to navigate and use. The site management features are also excellent, which makes it easy to update content without having to go through the hassle of coding or editing HTML.

Pros

WordPress is a very popular CMS (content management system) that allows anyone to create a website. It is easy to use and has many templates and plugins that allow you to change the look of your website without having to know how to code. WordPress is also free and there are many companies that provide hosting for it.

Cons

WordPress is a popular software powering more than 25% of the internet. It's a powerful tool that is easy to use. What I disliked most about WordPress was that it was difficult to customize the look and feel of my website.

### "WordPress for Beginners"

July 20, 2020

5.0

We use WordPress to create advanced/custom coded website builds for our clients looking for something completely bespoke and catered toward their needs. Word Press gives our agency a huge competitive advantage because everything we do is custom coded and not applied from a limited template (like Squarespace and Wix offer). We are able to charge the appropriate amount for custom builds and make exceptionally high quality functioning websites that makes our clients very happy and they are willing to pay premium price for these features because they understand the ROI of their investment with a custom WordPress site.

Pros

About five years ago, when I decided to launch a personal blog, I vetted almost every high profile CMS and decided on WordPress for my blog and I'm so glad I did. I knew I wanted the ability to add custom code and edit CSS and WordPress allows for complete customization. Please note: I am not a web developer and I had never coded before, however, WordPress has incredible tutorials and even templates that you can apply and modify to your website that are extremely modern, sophisticated, clean, and also affordable. The plugins are endless - there's truly a plugin for anything you can think of and WordPress integrates seamless with my affiliate marketing platform, LikeToKnow.it so I have the ability to add custom feeds, HTML code for widgets, and a live Instagram feed to earn commission from products I link. As a beginner, I dedicated a lot of time learning as much as I could about WordPress and would never switch to a different CMS. Their learning tools and tutorials are excellent resources for self-education. I also really enjoy the new live editing dashboard when adding new content.

Cons

I'm a beginner so editing CSS was a little tricky for me when I was first beginning. I purchased and applied a template and wanted to further add customizations and finally found the right CSS code. However, I wish the templates had a bit of a drag and drop layout feature the way Squarespace makes it so simple to design, especially for beginners. However, WordPress is one of the best and most sophisticated CMS tools available on the market and as someone who isn't a web dev, I respect the features and am excited to learn more. It's mostly user error from my end because our dev team raves about WordPress.

I see it as a tool for making online publishing and marketing more easy and interesting. I have been able to solve a number of dangerous attacks on my website by simpling looking at the activity log and responding immediately by contacting my host or fixing it myself.

Pros

Wordpress software alone makes my blogging experience easy and convenient. With just a click I would have the quickest update about my traffic statistics. There is no single day I don't use WordPress software to check my website's performance and security issues. I enjoy using it a great deal because of the following reasons: 1. Activity log to find out if there is a strange action from a hacker or anything unrelated to my most recent activities. 2. I get daily, monthly and yearly insights about my website's visitors, their locations, the particular pages visited, the referral link like Google, Bing, etc. I don't necessarily need to rely on google analytics 3. This software gives me an instant notification about new comments, trackbacks and anytime there is a boost in my traffic. 4. It makes me feel secure because of their 2-factor authentication. I confirm my identity through my phone number. 5. I have been noticing regular updates adding new features and making it more user-friendly. 6. I have been able to use the android version of this software happily whiles I was having no access to a PC for more than one year. Because the software's user interface makes it more enjoyable than using a browser itself. Now I use it on my laptop and my phone altogether.

Cons

Since I moved my website from WordPress.com to wordpress.org I haven't been able to publish an article using this software. The major problem I have been encountering is about having an error message anytime I try to upload a media file like a photo. The error message says: "failed to insert media. Please try again." It frustrates me a lot but I believe because I am no more hosting my website with Wordpress. I transferred my website to a different host. Because of this, I do all my publications using wordpress.com which is my self-hosting platform. Finally, since I moved to a self-host, I haven't been able to have direct control over my plugins via the WordPress software.

WordPress helps me to maintain a nice & smooth web design experience and enables me to remain responsive as per meeting up with our client's project expectations. It's really a nice CMS and I highly recommend it to every web design aspirant.

Pros

WordPress is the most flexible and easy-to-work-with CMS I've used so far. I tried out other alternatives like Drupal and others, but WordPress makes the entire web-building experience easy. The tool is beginner friendly and supports a lot of third-party plugins which broadens its functionality, making my designs look great. There are many documents (provided by wordpress.org) for beginners who are just getting started and kin of help to minimize the apprenticeship process.I can't emphasize enough the flexibility I have when working on my projects (and clients') with WordPress. As a matter of, it's a tool I can't do without.

Cons

One major problem with WordPress is that there is no live support--the only place to get the support it's the community forum which isn't guaranteed (as support is provided by random users).

I was on a limited budget and I need to have a decent web presence that was dynamic. I also need to be able to change content quickly based on seasons, events and special events

### "The best professional Wordpress platform for creating your project professionally without programmin"

April 2, 2023

5.0

My experience is excellent. Anyone who wants to use WordPress is better to enter my account to try and get an idea or take a training course from an expert who really has experience. These are excellent and important applied skills, and why not be a source of income.

Pros

This is a beautiful, professional platform for managing content and customizing content and accurately creating a site as you really want. An open source content management platform that controls everything with high precision. It is not like Blogspot, limited and unprofessional. Any project you want to create is necessary. WordPrees is professionally excellent. This is a platform originally designed for non-programmers.

Cons

There is nothing negative, we just want more development
