### "Makes having a website easy"

November 5, 2025

3.0

We're glad to have a professional looking website without any coding involved. WordPress also provides lots of flexibility and customization with their websites.

Pros

What I love best about Wordpress are the plugins. If there is something you want to be able to do with your website, you can usually find it through a plugin.

Cons

Because there is so much you can do with WordPress, sometimes it can be confusing to know where to look to make changes to your website that you are wanting to happen. However this all depends on the type of theme you use.

### "One of the best wWebsite CMS out there"

March 6, 2026

5.0

I've used WordPress to build websites for years and have no plans to stop. Good visual builders layer over it seamlessly.

Pros

I like how versatile the CMS is. There's also so many different software that can integrate with WordPress now.

Cons

Not a complaint, but one of the challenges with WordPress if you don't setup things correctly can be website security.

### "Cheap, cheerful, just make sure it's managed for security"

February 24, 2026

3.0

For the price, with a little attention about security, a managed WP instance is brilliant. That way, you know the patches are always applied and you've got a suite of plugins to scale such as Woo Commerce.

Pros

The best thing about WP is the choice of templates – it's massive. Creating new pages, especially for content based websites is simple. It's straightforward to adapt the design to suit your needs. It's excellent at managing posts, although news/blogs seems an old method now.

Cons

The constant security worries, especially from plugins. There are so many cases of WP sites being hacked, that you need to take this seriously from the outset.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

Lower price with WP, I was concerned that Wix would continue to increase their monthly pricing

### "Good Platform To Use"

March 24, 2026

5.0

Great product, easy to use, good value and does have good integrations with very useful tools. They make a goo product that can be used with people ay any level of experience.

Pros

Word press makes things simple and easy. They provide some solid tools that make it understandable. Cost is also quite good.

Cons

It has a lot of add-ons that could get a little overwhelming or make you think you need all these additional things.

### "The Everything Platform for Your Website"

December 21, 2025

4.0

WordPress is a fantastic toolbox of opportunity to customize and scale a website with consistency. While it may not be the best tool for beginners, it is very easy to self teach.

Pros

We have full control over content, but it is organized with more structure and flexibility to appear where needed on the site. Reusable page structure templates that we can customize makes it easy for there to be consistency across the site. The template marketplace is robust and makes it easy to pick and maintain a style with all functionality handled, including robust plugin support.

Cons

It can be easy to get lost in the sea of options available to customize the site. Often you may be searching "where / how to change \_\_\_\_ in WordPress" but luckily there is robust community support and documentation. Sometimes depending on who you work with to develop, they may need you to work with a seperate tool for editing (like Elementor), which adds another layer.

Wix was a messier, less structured system. It was easy to get started but just as easy to get out of control with inconsistent / unprofessional looking design.

### "What can't be done with WordPress?"

June 25, 2025

5.0

I love WordPress. I used it for a basic blog a zillion years ago and have built dozens of sites using it. I love that WordPress can make a simple and fast site for a brand new business - or can be full fledged and robust for a large company.

Pros

I love developing in WordPress - I love watching it grow and seeing new features added. It makes me excited to see all the things WordPress can do.

Cons

The WordPress community has been fracturing and Matt Mullenweg's behavior is concerning. I don't love worrying that a CMS I've been using for 20ish years could vanish due to his whims.

### "From ok to pretty good"

January 11, 2026

4.0

I thought it was overall a good experience. I have used it before but many years ago. Its come along way.

Pros

Customer service is pretty good. Its great for wrb designers, page editing, templates to lay out the web sites.

Cons

The ease of use is not very good for those getting started. Can be a little complicated. More designed for experienced users. And the cost could be a little better. Free version is ok but really lacks.

### "My go to website setup, easy to use, cheap to run"

May 11, 2026

4.0

its my go to web install for anything, single page, web shops, even digital displays. There is nothing you cant do

Pros

Wordpress is so versatile, its great value for money and really easy to use. Once its setup you can easily create pages, lots of layout options, themes and templates

Cons

The biggest issue for us are the security updates. You always have to be running updated installs to keep your site secure and dealing with the add-ons is a pain

### "Great flexible platform"

August 22, 2025

5.0

Overall solid. I’ve used it to build a few different sites over the years, including my latest projects OverLoaded and Bulgariya. It does what I need without being overly complicated, and once you know your way around themes/plugins you can move pretty fast. Definitely a good balance of easy + powerful if you don’t want to build from scratch.

Pros

It’s flexible. You can make basically any kind of site without much skill or experience. Even though it's so easy to use for beginners, there's a ton of room for customization as well. I personally use a ton of custom code on my site https://overloaded.ai and even run a simple webgame with a global chat. Tons of plugins, easy to tweak design, and it scales from a simple blog to a full business site.

Cons

Sometimes the plugins cause issues and there's no way to prepare other than making backups. Updates break stuff once in a while, which is annoying.

### "Great for beginners!"

October 3, 2025

5.0

Once you get the hang of it, it's one of the easiest platforms to create a website on for beginners.

Pros

It was fairly easy to learn to use. There are a lot of online tools available to help you through use of the tool which is very helpful.

Cons

It would make it easier if it had a way to tell you if some of the apps conflicted with each other. It would also be helpful if you were given a "list of things you need" when you first get started, like apps that you need that work alongside these types of platforms, like a server for example. These are things you wouldn't think of having to need when first getting started.

### "Wide user support, robust and suitable for a wide range of web pages"

March 15, 2025

5.0

One of our projects required us to build a web store from scratch for a client. I was able to put the page of articles, shopping cart and payment options with WooCommerce (a plugin) quickly and easily. The client was very happy because it worked. It is also good to highlight that I had some issues, a few hours of downtime occurred once when an update plugin crashed with the theme. It was a difficult time, but we got over it quickly with the help of the community and tutorials. That experience taught me the value of creating backups and running test environments for updates before deploying them to the live site. WordPress has been like staring at a blank canvas for us; with enough time, persistence and occasional assistance, we can create just about anything we may require.

Pros

From corporate websites to e-commerce platforms, WordPress works great for almost every project I’ve worked on as a web developer. I have managed to customize each development to my needs without starting from scratch due to its extensive ecosystem of plugins and themes. Anything from a simple personal blog to a sophisticated business website is within our capabilities. It is a powerful instrument as the possibilities are almost unlimited. Themes and plugins are another strong point. You can customize your website without knowing how to code thanks to the plethora of free and paid options. Do you prefer a more contemporary style? For this, there is a theme. Need a social media widget, advanced search engine optimization tool, or contact form? For that, you can find a plugin. It is a toolbox full of solutions for your projects.

Cons

To keep your site safe and running smoothly, you should update it frequently. This includes WordPress, its themes and plugins. Site slowness or, worse, vulnerability to attack may result from not doing so. You have to be very careful with this.

### "Easy to use and Looks Great!"

June 12, 2025

I have worked with Wordpress for 10+ years and I have never had an issue. The plug-in library that they offer is second to none.

Pros

I am a huge fan of the ease of creating, editing and posting content. I do not have experience in HTML so the ease of doing things via Elemontor is critical.

Cons

The only issue I have is I often am updating several sections of our website at one time, however, it is not easy to switch from one section to the site to another.

### "Software for pros "

February 12, 2026

3.0

My overall experience is basic, to make simple changes and content updates. The software needs a lot of knowledge to create more deep changes.

Pros

I like about wordpress the flexibility that the software has. Because is user friendly with CMS, SEO and create everything from the scratch.

Cons

What I don´t like about wordpress is the constant upgrade that need, the cost is high for everyone and is less scalable.

### "WordPress is a nice resource for Website Creation"

November 13, 2025

Overall experience has been positive. It is easy enough to use and love the plug in capabilities. Perhaps the paid version has higher security.

Pros

WordPress is easy to use and free, if you use it on your own web host. It made creating our company website quite simple, and we have several plugins installed to calculate shipping and take orders (ecommerce).

Cons

I am not crazy about the security - it seems to come under attack from spammers and bots more often than it should.

### "wordpress review"

January 30, 2025

it has been the best when especially customizing websites to clients and my website

Pros

The website is user-friendly, it is easy to customize some of the templates and themes, and it's SEO capability is top-notch. Also, it is better when someone starts an online store and it has more capability to even be free.

Cons

Some of the themes I have been installing are slow, and some do not support the needs I have, especially when I install the themes, and they start to be hard to customize. Also, there is no learning community like an online course and gaining a certificate to showcase to clients

### "Not What I Had Hoped"

November 3, 2025

3.0

I was asked to update the design of a WordPress website for a community club. I agreed to do it because I had heard WordPress was easy to use. Afterall, I spent 15 years writing HTML and editing sites for my company....how hard could it be? Sadly for me, it turned out to be MUCH for difficult

Pros

I WANTED to like Wordpress, because I had heard so much about it. Unfortunately, I just didn't find it very easy to use. Ultimately I decided to go with a different product.

Cons

I found it very difficult to edit pages in WordPress. In the end, it was just not worth the time it would take to learn the product, so I ended up going back to a different product. I also tried using a template, but I found editing it very clumsy. Customer support wasn't very helpful either. They pointed me towards training videos on Youtube. I just didn't think it should be so cumbersome.
