### "Like the basic functionality and affordable price"

January 18, 2023

5.0

Generally a positive experience, good deals, but a very steep learning curve for the first time user. I do like the end result, and the cost is a little reasonable compared to other services. The new app is pretty good, and easy to use across different phones.

Pros

Very affordable service, and enough tools to start your own web page by yourself. I like the templates that are offered and how you can add email to tour website. The pages in the end looks great, and there are great tools and ad-ons, such owning aa domain or email based domain via Titanmail. The app to edit your page is useful too.

Cons

Very steep learning curve to the uninitiated, feels like you have to hire someone to max out its full potential, or pay alot more on add ons to make your website close to professional looking. Not much drag or drop functions, not sure if that's an add on. I love the conversion preview when you choose a template and how it compares to from pc web page to mobile web. I wish the learning curve wasn't too steep.

### "Open Source and Powerful"

April 28, 2020

5.0

It's a great thing. It's my default platform for new websites, as it is easy and fast to deploy and gives room for clients to do updates themselves.

Pros

I use wordpress.org (the open source) not to be confused with wordpress.com (that platform with charged hosting). You can download the platform and self-host it fairly easily without the higher cost of the .com. I've generally found plugins for what I need, and when I can't find something exact, code is accessible to customize with a little PHP knowledge. I usually set up accounts with a child theme (meaning I take one I like but then customize it for my needs). Switching out themes (think skins) for sites is easy and a nice way to try things out.

Cons

It's not super secure Because it is opensource and many people contribute, you'll get a lot of bad plugins and vulnerabilities, so it's important to read reviews and update frequently. I find the dashboard easy and intuitive, but a lot of clients do struggle with it. As a web developer I've had many people come to me to update their CMS sites even though they should be able to do it themselves, they find it intimidating.

Reason for choosing WordPress

### "Blogging on the go with the pros"

October 13, 2020

5.0

Blogging is to Wordpress, as Wordpress is to blogging. With tons of options in the web, deciding which platform is the best for you can become cumbersome. But Wordpress has been around for years and that experience is well used in the recent versions of this blogging app. You can set it up for your desktop or your mobile devices and blog on the go, use your links and resources available in your phone and blog about whatever you like.

Pros

New upgrades and block editing add a better content organization oppose to classic editing options, giving you a lot more variety of options for publishing multimedia and web rich content in only minutes. The option to save drafts of your posts, for web, desktop or mobile use works great; I can work on my ideas as I think of them and save those thoughts for further editing when I get the time.

Cons

When jumping into the block editing mode, it takes a while to get the hang of its use on the web mainly. But when using the mobile app of Wordpress this becomes more intuitive and it flows great.

### "The Essential Web Platform for Flexibility and Depth"

November 22, 2019

5.0

WordPress is terrific. It gives us a platform where we can combine plugins and themes that speed up or automatically accomplish many otherwise-tedious tasks, but gives us options through plugins or back-end editing to add whatever functionality or customization we need. It is an exceptionally powerful open-source platform. Our only complaint is that the wide variety of options sometimes means that even simple tasks require a tremendous amount of involvement and decision-making. But these are few and far between.

Pros

WordPress offers unmatched depth of customization WordPress also offers a wide variety of attractive prebuilt themes, templates and simple front-end builders The documentation and support is freely available and extremely helpful The plugin store includes helpful information about each plugin to assist users in making choices about modifying their website

Cons

With great customization comes density of options—some tasks are excessively complex to achieve Some utility tasks are offloaded to plugins, which necessitates a never-ending search for the right plugin to accomplish a basic task

### "Best coding-free website management platform "

August 29, 2020

4.0

We organize online math contests on our website. We needed a platform with: - intuitive user interface - built-in user registration system - coding-free site management system - password protection for sensitive files - multiple administrators setup capability WordPress was the perfect match for our requirements mentioned above.

Pros

The installation process of WordPress was pretty much straightforward. With a little coding skill, we got our website running within a week. The user interface is so easy to understand that it feels like you're using a software. It lets us to: - host math contests - register participants with its forms and page creation features. Besides, we can create blog posts discussing solutions to the contest problems with ease. There are also advanced features such as: - access control - IP filter - multiple administrator access - file password protection etc. The best of all - it has a rich library of thousands of plugins, enabling us to utilize many features such as SEO, spam filter, database management, code minification etc. without having to code at all.

Cons

The features are very much limited in the free verison. To mention a few: - no .com domain name - no control over the server - limited to built-in features - can't upload big files But the subscription fees are overwhelmingly high in my opinion. The plans are not suitable for small startups or non-profit organizations.

Reason for choosing WordPress

We think WordPress outperforms other platforms in terms of usability, set of features and customization capabilities.

### "WordPress for Web Developers"

November 24, 2023

5.0

Pros

As a Web Developer, I work with WordPress on daily basis. The best part about it is that it's highly customisable and you can integrate a huge variety of plugins to modify its default behavior, and if not, then create your own custom plugin. You don't need coding at all to build websites and in just a few hours you can set up a whole ecommerce site.

Cons

Sometimes when the site crashes, wordpress doesn't show the exact error that is causing it. The platform just goes blank and you have to go deep into each and every plugin to see what is causing the problem.

### "Versatile, Robust, and the Best Basic CMS"

October 10, 2021

5.0

Wordpress.org, where you use it as a CMS on your own hosted website, it's truly the best option for most website owners, myself included. 10 years ago a developer convinced me to build one of my websites using Ruby on Rails, and I just wish I had stuck with my gut and found a way to do that with the database plugins available—I am now paying a developer to port it over. I have yet to really find much that WordPress can't do if you're running a content-based sight. Only if you need advanced e-commerce integrations should you consider an alternative.

Pros

I have used WordPress since 2008 to build not only my main business, which started as a blog, but also dozens of other sites over the years—both for myself and others. As a CMS, it's dead-simple to deploy and the number of features (themes, plugins, etc), can grow with your business. I also love that it's open-source—this means even in the 10+ years since I started, the code is always maintained by the global community and it's up to the latest web standards.

Cons

The recent switch to Gutenberg blocks necessitated a learning curve that was frustrating, but I went with this product "fork" because it seems like the developers maintaining it truly have the best interests of WordPress users at heart—blocks is where the web is heading, and it made sense to switch over even if this means some growing pains for websites needing a new theme/new customizations.

### "The Worst CMS , except .. every other. "

January 25, 2019

1.0

Wordpress is a blog platform. I repeat, it is a blog platform. NOT a CMS to setup your corporate website. And this is where the first misunderstanding begin. It's featured-full on features meant to handle your blog easily. Comments, Ping, RSS, emoticons library, API to share your posts everywhere on the web , anonymous login... It's not, absolutely not, a platform made to set up your corporate website easily. Except .. it is. Easy to set up, to produce pages, handle urls, medias, to customize.. But beware : it seems so easy you'll think you can build a \*professional\* website in minutes without any design or IT skills. And that's the 2nd big misunderstanding. You can produce a website this way, firing up some already-made theme, with any Mega-Awesome-Drag-n-drop-wysiwyg-Themebuilder. But certainly not a good -quality professional website this way. Good-looking maybe. But with poor performance, junk code, and a nightmare maintenance. Remember DreamWeaver .. If you insist this way, you'll face numerous issues. But for each, there will be a free plugin to help you ! Well not one, ten. So you will soon spend your time evaluating plugins . Then realize the free plugin is limited and full of ads. So you will buy this plugin. Try to get a refund. Try an other one. And so on. So .. is it possible to build a pro website using WP ? Yes. For real. Build solid Foundation(s) base plate. Never use themes. Code. Learn WP Codex. Cleanup. Or hire someone who know how to.

Pros

Huge community. Setup your boilerplate in 60s. Very easy to setup custom backoffice for clients.

Cons

It depends. As a blog platform ? Not much to say. As a multipurpose CMS to build real websites ? It's crappy; Full of WP advertising. Not reliable. Too much blog oriented. You have to spend most of your time to disable WP 'features' to have an OK-basis to start with.

### "Wordpress, more than just a CMS"

March 12, 2020

5.0

Pros

I have tried using many CMSs but I should say that Wordpress always stand out, what i really like about using wordpress in the support it happen to have from community which make it easy for one to find a solution to any problem that might be having. Also the community makes it easy to scale wordpress applications from the vast plugins and modules that are easy accessible. As developer what i really love about wordpress is the easy migration process from development server to a live server just changing two values in the database. But most all its free and very easy to use. Ever since i started using wordpress i have developed more that 300 websites and intranets.

Cons

Even though wordpress is free as cms, some of the plugins which are very useful and powerful dont come very cheap and even worse developing your own custom plugins its not as easy like other platforms. I would like to see more tutorials on how to develop your own plugins.

### "Wordpress is the Swiss Army Knife of Websites"

October 23, 2018

5.0

I build professional websites and Wordpress helped us launch quickly. We use Wordpress for every major project, from simple websites to e-commerce powered websites, Wordpress does it all. Would highly recommend doing a search for popular plugins to see which ones people are installing to make Worpdress even more powerful. A must have is looking at SEO plugins and Caching plugins.

Pros

Whether you're building a blog, website or e-commerce store, building off Wordpress is the absolute best way to do it. Wordpress is constantly getting updated with the latest features and security enhancements, which is one of the biggest reasons why I use Wordpress. Wordpress alone is powerful and feature rich to create any type of content, such as blog posts, or embedding in video and photos. What makes Wordpress really shine are the extensible plugins that power Wordpress. Doing a simple search for SEO plugins, or E-commerce plugins for Wordpress will show you what Wordpress is really capable of. I've been building off Wordpress for 7+ years and haven't seen a platform that's better to use in terms of features and plugins. Would highly recommend anyone at any level to build using Wordpress for SEO alone.

Cons

Wordpress is meant for any level, but getting familiar with powerful plugins will take a bit of advanced setup. Wordpress works right out of the box, but the learning curve to really take Wordpress to advance requires some elbow grease and time.

### "Great for websites, future uncertain"

December 10, 2017

4.0

Pros

WordPress powers a lot of the web. It was Squarespace before Squarespace existed. For power users, it's extendible as a full-fledged CMS where the only limit is one's imagination. There is an entire ecosystem built around WordPress with theme and plugin developers, agencies, and support teams. I build custom themes for a whole variety of clients, from news blogs to agency websites. It's how I make my living, so it's really important to me!

Cons

Because WordPress is so approachable and widely-used, it has become a huge target for hackers. Between WordPress core and plugins, sites need updating constantly. Updates introduce bugs and require testing. Sometimes it feels like I'm tied to a clown-themed merry-go-round that never ends. To add to that, the WordPress team has made some incredibly big flubs in the last year. For example, they made changes to default widgets, which broke thousands of websites during a minor release update. Now they're working on a complete redesign of the editor, and in its current state, is not very compatable with the more custom built sites using meta boxes to drive content. It's these 3 things - security, bugs, and overall poor management, that gives me pause over the future of WordPress. I hope they resolve these things. But in the meantime, it seems like every WordPress site owner needs a good dev in their corner.

### "WordPress is an exercise in getting out what you put in."

January 24, 2018

4.0

WordPress has made it possible for me to start and build a business of my own. Though it has taken some effort to learn to use it effectively and skillfully, it has proven itself to be a robust and powerful tool for the creation of websites of nearly any configuration I have required thus far.

Pros

WordPress is nearly infinite in its possibilities as a CMS for websites because of the wealth of available themes and plugins available to expand and extend its capabilities. The software itself and a vast majority of functional add-ons are free, though additional higher-level capabilities are often available for a nominal cost. As with many of the most popular open-source software one finds available these days, WordPress has a huge universe of experts scattered all over the Internet who are always available to answer most any question one may have about WordPress, how it works and how to fix it when it breaks.

Cons

Sometimes, the same things that make a piece of software great can also be its weakness. AS with any open source software, since there is no "home office," per se, there is the potential for errors due to miscommunications between diverse contributors to the project. This is very well ameliorated with WordPress, but it is possible. As well, there are often conflicts among the various themes and plugins for the same reason. It is always the onus of the user to maintain enough knowledge of the platform to ensure conflicts are managed and minimized. This does require the end-user to spend some effort in self-education, which can be time-consuming.

### "Wordpress is easy to use to manage a website, but sometimes things break."

September 29, 2021

4.0

We switched from a very clunky, old school type site with poor functionality to wordpress, and wordpress allows us to do many complex and interesting things with my client's website. it is easy to update it with nrew images. I also write wordpress blogs fort this client and it is easy to format them.

Pros

I like that it was easy to have multiple users be able to update our website, and you could see if something went wrong, who made the mistake. I liked that updating pages and posts was self explanatory and customizable in so many ways.

Cons

I do not like that some features and plugins would auto update and break parts of the site. There are lots of things that do frequently break and need attention, at least once or twice a month.

### "Need a blog or company web site? - Seek no more."

May 21, 2018

5.0

Pros

\*All in one WordPress has been created as a blogging platform, but after all this time it has become a major site creator platform not just for blogging. Many companies have their pages created in WP and many people use WordPress for their portfolios and content management platform \*Integrations Of course, basic (free) plan does not allow much, but if you dedicate a little amount per month on the website created on WP platform - you can get a great custom site that will be just the way you want it. \*Constant improvements and easy upgrades The best feature of WordPress up to date is it's ability to Update itself without any issues. You don't lose you data, almost all plugins get updates and work with the current release and everything just becomes better and more powerful. Does not matter, if you have WP for Blogging or an E-shop, you will get constant updates and need features without ever bothering.

Cons

\*Limited (when free) Even though WP give a lot of customization options, if you are low on budget, you might not have that many options and may struggle to gt the best. It is possible, but it is hard. It's hardly a con, since others will give you even less, but overall it can be improved. \*Capabilities WordPress is for small websites. And even though, it is true that you can expand it with plugins, that is also true that those plugins will need more attention, and much better hosting. WordPress is all about freedom of choice, you can do everything with the platform to adjust it to the needs, but sometimes you just need a simple and fast solution to create a specific kind of website. In that case, WordPress becomes harder to use and I would advice you to use some help setting everything up.

### "WordPress Review"

August 4, 2022

5.0

Pros

Open Source: The best thing about it is that it is an open source cms which is absolutely free. It was earlier made to be used only in blogs but it is used as a content management system in websites. You can also modify and distribute the codes and you will not have to worry about license fees. Low Cost: I agree that it takes up to 10000 ₹ to create a blog in WordPress, but according to one, it is not much. Because if you get a website built from a developer or choose any other paid cms, then you can cost from 30000 ₹ to 50000 ₹. Easy to Use: You do not need to be a developer to install and use WordPress. You can easily manage WordPress site even without coding knowledge. In this you can easily do any work with the help of plugin. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Benefits: Most search engines like Google like WordPress sites more. Because seo meta and many seo optimizations are already done in wordpress site and they do not have to face errors. Lots of sites use WordPress: You must have seen around yourself that all the popular blogs are on WordPress only. Let us also tell you that according to the recent report 74.6 million sites are using WordPress only. Updates: The new version of WordPress comes almost every 152 days but comes within it. All the popular plugins and themes in WordPress blog are updated regularly. This strengthens the security along with the performance of the site. Plugins and More Options: First of all, WordPress will give you unlimit

Cons

Security: The biggest disadvantage is that its security is weak. But those who are smart bloggers and secure their blog in some way. WordPress also supports vulnerable source themes and plugins. That's why many hackers take advantage of this. Low Database Handling Capacity: Many wordpress experts also believe that wordpress is not able to handle the database properly. This has also been reported many times and right now the WordPress team is focusing on optimizing it. Without Updated Plugin/Themes: I have seen many times that there are still many such plugins and themes in the wordpress directory which have not been updated for 2 years and thousands of people use it. You must be aware that by using such plugins and themes, the performance of the blog goes down.

WordPress helps to make a powerful website or web application, it suitable if you are in hurry to start your website, it has multiple plugin which saves your development time. With WordPress you can easily build eCommerce based website and other services related websites, within few days if you have all the resources required to build it. My overall experience with WordPress is very impressive.

Pros

WordPress allows to quickly setup and go live with few customization, I like its installation facility with too easy to use. It has n number of plugin which are free and as well as premium version as well, you may choose accordingly to your requirement. Its best for blogging purpose or for personal website, its easy to maintain and upgrade-able.

Cons

Its become complicated if you install multiple plugin without knowing is it compatible or not. So make sure you must update only when you need to update it. Otherwise its very convenient to use and maintain through out the development stages. It allows to share plugins or code to reuse in other project as well.

### "Best alternative to web creation for non programmers"

March 28, 2019

4.0

In general, Wordpress has helped me as a website creator to do it very quickly when the project needs only a modern, functional and self-managed website since I can create complete web pages in record time. However for more complex projects I prefer to go the way of personalized development.

Pros

Wordpress is undoubtedly the best alternative to create good quality self-managing websites for people without knowledge of web development. Wordpress allows you to create a modern website in one day if you learn how to do it. The number of existing templates is simply HUGE, with the possibility of creating almost any information site and the possibilities are even more extended when you apply technical knowledge of web development such as Javascript or CSS. Then in the plugins section, being the best known and most successful content manager, you can get plugins for almost everything on the internet. Both paid and free. And if what you want to create is an online store, Wordpress is also good for that, installing a simple plugin you already have on your website (if the template allows it) a store with all the relevant functionalities.

Cons

There are certainly things that I do not like about Wordpress and to begin with I could mention the interface of its administrative panel, it is very old and I think it needs to improve. Obviously, this is not seen by the final visitors of the site, but there are better interfaces to manage websites. On the other hand, the enormous dependence of the system version for the plugins, if you need to update the website you must ensure that the plugins can also coexist with the Wordpress version but the site will not be broken, that causes many people to have websites outdated and therefore vulnerable to attacks.

I've been working with WordPress since it was first released. I've created websites for myself and my clients. I have developed and sold commercial plugins. I've run e-commerce sites. Right now I'm running my coaching business including webinar funnels and a learning management system all powered by WordPress.

Pros

WordPress has the richest ecosystem of any CRM. It's also the most versatile in that it can be used for anything from a simple blog to an e-commerce site or learning management system. If something doesn't exist or you need a custom solution, WordPress can be very easily extended through custom plugins. There are, of course, many ways to build a website. But, in my experience, WordPress provides the most power and flexibility and is backed by the largest community.

Cons

The greatest strength can sometimes also be the greatest weakness. Because WordPress is so easy to build on and the barrier to entry is so low, inexperienced developers are able to create plugins and add-ons which may degrade site performance and possibly introduce security vulnerabilities. In addition, because WordPress stores the full absolute URL for your website in various core settings, it's a big pain to migrate your site to a new domain. This makes moving sites between development, staging, and production much more of a pain than I wish it was. There are tools to help - like Local By Flywheel - but it's still annoying.
