### "A great way to build a blog or whole site quickly but it takes work to get the best out of it."

June 26, 2018

5.0

Wordpress allows me to run a successful business building websites quickly and cost effectively. The various plugins and extensions have allowed me to create services of my own which I provide online.

Pros

Probably the best thing about wordpress is it's flexibility. You can build a beautiful site, blog, shop, or pretty much anything on the platform. The version you install is pretty plain but there are probably a good 100,000 free and paid for plugins that allow you to extend the functionality of the software. The version I use all the time is the self-install version which for anyone with a little technical knowledge and a willingness to learn will be a quick straightforward process to get up and running. Once installed you can quickly set up pages and blog posts combining photos and pretty much every type of media you like. If you like to code, you can get your hands dirty and change everything. If not you can stick with pre-made themes and tools. Another huge pro is the astounding amount of free information and tutorials available online so if you do have a problem, someone will have already had the same, fixed it and explain how you can do it too.

Cons

So wordpress is free but you will need somewhere to host a site which can be a cost issue depending on the volume of traffic you expect. If you are not willing to learn how to set up the system and work methodically then it's probably not for you. There are some technical skills to be learnt so if that's not your bag then it's probably better to keep away or you'll end up getting frustrated.

### "Wordpress is my first choice for every new website, by a mile."

February 19, 2019

5.0

Wordpress has allowed me to start and run a digital marketing agency - even though I can't write software code. I've lost count of the number of times I've revamped an existing website that was hard-coded, for something amazing. I've mostly done this for only the cost of my time.

Pros

It's so intuitive, I think that even a complete novice could create an attractive website in a day. (As long as they have the content ready to add). Then every conceivable feature can be added with plugins. The majority of plugins are either free or have a freemium version where the base version is almost as good. Each individual plugin saves hundreds, or even thousands of dollars in development costs, as well as the usual bug fixing process. Web development can be done easily, at practically no cost except your time.

Cons

Wordpress core, themes and plugins require regular updates for bug fixes, security patches and new features. This is a double-edged sword, each Wordpress website gets updated and improved free of charge which is great. Unfortunately, there are occasional glitches in this process where plugins conflict. So, updates are the only downside, which is still net upside due to the fixes and improvements.

### "No other way to go for a website!"

December 12, 2018

5.0

I have been using WordPress to build websites for about 10 years now. I create websites for entrepreneurs and small businesses and have been able to create a solution for everything that has come my way because of the wide variety of WordPress plugins that are available out there for my use. Security is not an issue as long as a good security plugin is installed and everything is monitored and updated regularly.

Pros

WordPress is so versatile. It's perfect for a basic site, a blog, a business site or ecommerce - large or small. The popularity of the platform encourages more developers to create plugins, free and paid, which add functionality to the websites and allow you to do pretty much anything you are looking to do. I really like how I can grant access to different users and limit what they are able to see and do based on what role I give them.

Cons

It seems like there are constant updates for all of the plugins that are used to create the websites. They are necessary, but at times can be a bit much to deal with! Some weeks I'll do all my updates and then two days later they're at it again. It's worth the aggravation, though, because these plugins help me to achieve what I need to for my websites and those of my clients.

### "Why use anything else?"

October 14, 2019

5.0

As someone who has been charged with publishing blogs across many websites for my entire professional career, I have nearly always worked primarily with Wordpress, and have been glad to do so. It takes just a few minutes to publish SEO-optimized blog posts full of multimedia, and going back in later on to add or edit is also a breeze. It also makes onboarding a good bit faster. Just about everybody knows how to use Wordpress, so basing your content efforts off of this platform is a good way ensure newcomers to your team can hit the ground running.

Pros

Wordpress is the standard for a reason. It's beyond easy to use, with great support for embedding images, videos, and social snippets from across the web into the pages and posts of your website. The free Yoast plugin also makes it dead simple to optimize your website for search.

Cons

Depending on the way a website is set up, there's potential for some formatting weirdness when posting a blog post. Over the course of a website's development and maintenance, there's also a good chance that a large number of extensions will be installed to add various capabilities. These tend not to be coded optimally, so can lead to slowness, bloat, and something of an organizational mess when trying to find various settings.

### "Great platform"

August 28, 2018

4.0

As a business owner I solve a lot of problems with Wordpress. A lot of customers want a website built that they can login, make changes and update without having to pay a developer. What is nice is to be able to use Wordpress and set restrictions and permissions within Wordpress and give them access. With a simple e-mail explaining Wordpress and the admin dashboard they can get up a running pretty quick. So for me it's an easy sell to create a website, let them update it after I'm done and charge them for updating plugins and keeping the site up.

Pros

\- Fast Initial Setup - Great Community, Tutorials and Information - Thousands of Plugins & Themes - Most hosting has one click installs for getting setup. - SEO friendly and optimized This platform allows for users to get a website or blog up really fast without having any development or coding experience. Thousands of themes to choose from (pro and con) that can be bought for a specific industry or niche. Very user friendly and easy to navigate admin dashboard. I recommend this platform for my customers having 100 products or less if they have an e-commerce store.

Cons

A lot of my cons have to do with 3rd party plugins and themes. Wordpress itself is very simply and small in size. The problem is when you need extra functionality and you have to start installing different plugins and themes and the next thing you know you have a huge application running really slow, so then you need to buy a speed / cache plugin.. etc etc. So Wordpress itself I wish came with more functionality, but then if you only are using it for a blog... you don't need it.

### "Wordpress: Tool for every bloggers"

November 16, 2019

5.0

If you have limited resources and below knowledge to build a website and you need a website under your own, just give a try with WordPress. It contains wonderful free services which really help a lot. Highly recommended.

Pros

I'm pretty sure most of us well aware regarding WordPress and it is a key opportunity for everyone who is waiting for creating their personal blogs. Creating and managing the blog is a straight forward process here and WordPress contains tons of free themes for various varieties. I'm using word press over five years and it's really easy to organize our pages just drag and drop, so we can add freshly look for our personal blogs frequently. It's a useful platform to publish our own creativities with the help of WordPress through our own webpage.

Cons

Since most of the plugins are free, I have arisen some questions regarding security measure. They need to confirm each and every plugin which are vulnerable codes free and other security measures. And new users have some difficulties to aware of SEO plugins usage. The speed of our website decreases with the number of plugins we used, so they want to work with this category and need some improvements in future.

### "Great for Scaleable Businesses/ Blogs"

August 31, 2021

4.0

I have been using wordpress for 11 years and I say that its been a godsend. They have lots of plug-ins and its been mostly a seemless process.

Pros

I like that its universal for web developers where they can customize it and it can do so much more than a drag and drop DIY service. It also gives me just the right amount of control to do go overboard and implement all the changes myself.

Cons

The picture uploading and storage seems to be lacking which is key these days with peoples short attention spans. There are mistakes that I make and I have to contact my webdeveloper as its not easy to undo certain things like uploading a picture 3 times and then you can't figure it out how to undo it on your own.

### "The Best Long-Term Platform for Websites"

December 26, 2018

5.0

I started and sold a web design agency where we used WordPress to build our clients' websites.

Pros

Let me preface by saying that I'll be discussing self-hosted WordPress from WordPress.org, and not the hosted platform at WordPress.com. With that out of the way, the biggest advantage to using WordPress over any of the other website platforms is the ability to adapt your site and add functionality to address whatever needs you may have down the line. Chances are, if you need additional functionality, there's a plugin that can do what you're trying to do. And further, if you need custom functionality, it's easy to find developers that can build what you're looking for.

Cons

It's not the easiest platform to use. There's definitely a larger learning curve than a platform like Squarespace. You have to learn about hosting, buying a domain, installing WordPress, installing plugins, keeping your site up to date, etc. However, there are managed hosts like WPEngine and Flywheel that make that part a lot easier. And there are full-fledged website builders like Offsprout or page builders like Beaver Builder for WordPress that make designing a website easier.

### "Wordpress, Web Management and Publishing For The Masses"

September 8, 2020

5.0

I simply love Wordpress, it is one of the most intuitive Web management systems out in the field today and you simply have so much potential.

Pros

Wordpress has to be the de-facto web management and publishing software of the the second part of the millennium. It ease of use and abundant documentation makes this an easy skill to pick up for even the most novice of users. It's ease of use should not dissuade the person looking for a broad feature set that would please even the most picky web admin, it is truly easy and powerful. I would be remised if i did not say it's free for all of the core features, and can be extended with countless other tools and plugins available in its very robust plugin gallery.

Cons

Wordpress is like a Swiss Army Knife of web development and as such can be slow to get into, dimply due to the fact of having to delve thru many pieces of documentation to get up to speed. But once you do, that's when the fun begins.

### "WordPress: the standard by which others are judged"

October 9, 2018

5.0

WordPress has allowed me to create and manage multiple websites on my own. I've enjoyed learning the simple software and find I can do most things easily without outside help. I'd definitely recommend WP to anyone wanting to build their own website.

Pros

WordPress is a ubiquitous, free software that is fairly intuitive to figure out. Practically all web hosting companies offer WP as an option to create a website. There are many free (and paid) resources available on the web to answer any question you could possibly have about using WP. You can make your website very simple, using everything "free," from web hosting (wordpress.com), to site templates and plugins. WP makes it possible for anyone with a little spare time and some stick-to-itiveness to build their own web site on the cheap. Nice for people who are not sure where their website is going. You can always upgrade later.

Cons

Well, it \*is\* software, after all. There are bound to be some technical glitches from time to time. I've also had to insert code a few times which can be confusing for someone with no coding knowledge. You can usually get around this by choosing a good paid template or finding a plugin that works.

### "The Best Tool for Website Development and Customization - WordPress"

June 5, 2019

5.0

I use WordPress for website creation as well as customization of the existing website for my organization and also for many businesses that require websites. I also use WordPress as a basic teaching CMS in my organization to teach students how to work with the CMS environment. I can positively comment that working with WordPress has enabled me to come up with professional websites that has attracted many organizations. I can also say that WordPress has helped me save a lot of time from design to deployment and maintenance of websites. Lastly, it is enriched with so many capabilities that have helped me to come up with unique and on-demand websites.

Pros

WordPress eliminates the difficulty associated with the creation of a website from scratch, that is, writing of syntax which is very tiresome and time-consuming. Thus WordPress makes it easier for the creation of a website. It also enables you to have full control of your website such that you can easily make changes to your website in WordPress to suit your business without necessarily hiring the designers thus it reduces the cost of developing a website. furthermore, it is easy to create a website even for the inexperienced users using WordPress because everything is made available. moreover, the plugins provided by WordPress extends the capabilities and are very affordable. Finally, WordPress offers extra security to a website by enabling you to control what users can be able to access and what they can not.

Cons

The websites developed by WordPress runs quite slow. it does not allow me to upload my own plugins and themes thus it ties me to the one already existing and this limits its capability. WordPress is also prone to attacks by hackers because of its popularity. Lastly, the whole process of website development and maintenance is very costly.

### "The "go to" CMS"

March 10, 2021

4.0

Wordpress has been around long enough, and used so extensively, that it's becoming increasingly difficult to find clients who haven't used a version of it. This familiarity aids site development as clients are likely to already know their way around the admin functionality, which in turn cuts down development time. The huge range of plugins means that there is likely something available that will help with required features, such as social media plugins, slideshows, and galleries. Likewise, the amount of themes available means that you can easily change the look and feel of a site without having to code templates.

Pros

Ease of setting up, sheer amount of plugins and extensions, client familiarity, role categories, quick to get a simple site up and running with drop in themes

Cons

With so many plugins and extensions available, there is a big range in quality. Also, adding more extensions increases the "bloat" of the website, leading to bugs and slow page speeds. Some themes need extensive customisation, even if they are paid for.

### "Wordpress Review"

December 3, 2018

5.0

I would say my overall experience has been positive. Since I added Wordpress to my design repetoire, I have added more clients than ever before! I also love how the platform pushes and challenges me to learn new things and ways of thinking. If you are invested enough you will always find a way to make your site perform however you want -- you just have to be willing to learn.

Pros

I am a web designer and I was late to the Wordpress game. However, over the last two years I have really embraced this product. Wordpress is the perfect platform for me to quickly build my client's websites, and make them still functional and relevant. I love all the plug-ins you can use, and also am constantly amazed at the quality and range of free themes. I also am quite fond of the fact that you can customize your website with code.

Cons

If I had to pick anything I dislike about Wordpress, I would say it has a steep learning curve. When I first started using it (even after 15 years of building websites), I had to really apply myself to learning the software. That isn't really a bad thing, but could be a turnoff for people who are just learning and want to build their own site without the help of a designer or developer.

### "It's a massively popular Website builder, and not so friendly for starters"

February 9, 2021

4.0

I've been using WordPress for over 10 years at this point, but I tend not to mess with the websites after they are published, due to the nature of my content. WordPress could be as simple to install or as difficult depending on your host service, so keep that in mind before purchasing a service. The system can be a little daunting for beginners, since it's a quite capable website builder, but with a bit of time and documentation you can get your website up and running quite quickly. There are tons of free assets that you can search and use it, and the templates are quite good and cathered to specific needs and looks required. You can access the code and make significant changes if needed depending on the template that you choose to begin with. WordPress is constantly updated and the plug-ins are also updated automatically for me. Currently my website had all the plug-ins crash, and they all disappeared, so keep in mind that WP is notorious for needing to troubleshoot your website once in a while. I still enjoy using it, and recommend this platform when people ask for help choosing their builder, just be open to spend sometime trying to figure things out.

Pros

It's FREE with some webhosts. Very capable and fairly easy to create a sophisticated website lots of third party plug-ins Massive community and assets available.

Cons

It's quite buggy, I have to trouble shoot my websites that occasionally go down. No support, not so surprising due to the free nature. Plug-ins can potentially ruin your website in a click.

### "I have built two of my most profitable website with word pres, easy to use and to get successful"

July 26, 2018

4.0

I am user of WordPress more than 1 year not only from the financial perspective but from the learning the it skills is also main benefit i have from using the WordPress

Pros

The program editions system , specifically finding the ninja forms for creating a new website is quite reliable. I built two websites in word press and used the paid ninja forms and some of the plugins to create the forms and instead of spending my time to learn the coding, it was very smooth to use WordPress to build the same strategy as well the access to the google ads to find the matches for the customers through the search engine is also quite sophisticated. Basically to use the WordPress is saving the time and starting the online business faster and in professional way

Cons

there are certainly several features which needs to be added especially some of the plugins which does very small jobs requires huge amount of payments. WordPress is also not familiar with some of the payment providers which does not support the WordPress to integrate their payment system into the WordPress created websites which was the most terrible accident happened to me that I used one of the payment providers to integrate into my website and in the end i was supposed to create any ninja form to be able to integrate my payment provider into my website.

### "No other choice for CMS-based site building"

December 3, 2019

5.0

I basically won't develop with any other CMS - that's partly down to familiarity, but also because I haven't found another one that's both as straightforward to code for, and as intuitive for my end users to work with after delivery.

Pros

Flexibility and ease of use - it's incredibly straightforward to set up a site and build and develop themes. While a lot of the work to make sites as flexible and customisable as they are is done by plugins or custom code, it's the very fact that there are so many options for things to plug into WordPress that makes it the best to use. There's very little you can't do or build with it, because chances are someone's tried to do something similar before you.

Cons

Some of the features introduced to WordPress Core feel regressive rather than forward-looking - the Gutenberg editor, for example, is a disaster, and I can't work with WordPress without first installing Classic Editor. It would be nice to see a shift towards custom post types and fields being better integrated into Core rather than being reliant on external and paid-for plugins. It's with these capabilities that it's possible to use WordPress to build basically any kind of site.

### "A wonderful free and open-source content management system"

June 30, 2019

5.0

I am working with WordPress from last 10 years and developed 100+ web applications. The Thing I like most is a highly scalable structure and ease of integration with other platforms and 3rd party services. Still, if my client doesn't have a specific requirement for the platform, I am using Wordpress as my first choice.

Pros

This is free yet most powerful open-source content management system available in the market. Initially, it was known for a blogging platform but now it's being used in almost all kind of website development. My company is using WordPress from the last 5 years as the main CMS of the offcial website. The reason is its availability of million of already available free and paid plugins. Which makes it suitable for all simple to customized business level web applications. Also, the PHP and MySql based structure of Wordpress is highly customizable so its easy to work with for developers.

Cons

Although the WordPress team is working hard still we saw some security vulnerabilities recently. This is I think is because of WordPress' popularity. But As I said Wordpress team is working hard So to avoid this and make the web applications secure you have to be updated all the time.

### "Endless customizations available, all while being easy enough to manage for nearly anyone"

November 27, 2018

5.0

WordPress is a great platform for running our network of websites. We've automated many of our processes such as automatic security updates and caching, so it provides an invaluable resource to saving our development resources!

Pros

WordPress is great because you have so many options about how you can set it up and run your site. First, you can choose between a self-hosted or SaaS option. If you go down the self-hosted route, there's hundreds of thousands of themes and plugins to help you get started on building a site for nearly anything. What's better is that if you need to go deeper, and you have the necessary development skills, you can build custom themes & plugins. At the end of the day, WordPress is great for nearly any site from small blogs to custom SaaS apps.

Cons

WordPress is prone to getting a bit bogged down and bloated after installing a number of plugins. Due to the low barrier of entry to develop themes and plugins for WordPress, there's a lot of junk out there. It's heavily recommended to do your due diligence before installing anything that could be malware. Additionally, the new Gutenburg update adds a ton of overhead to the site that most people aren't particularly happy with. I'd highly recommend doing research into the latest WordPress core to see if it fits your needs for your next project.
