### "Wordpress - you cannot go wrong with it"

August 22, 2021

4.0

Overall, Wordpress is a safe choice. There are a lot of experienced Wordpress people out there that can make a difference because you do want to invest in a custom Wordpress template. The free ones are OK, but to stand out, invest in time and money for your own branded template. WHen that is said and done and the right plugins are added (another issue worth spending time on) you can start publishing those brilliant posts you have been thinking about.

Pros

I've been using Wordpress for many years. As a contributor to many blogs and as the administrator of my own nblog. It is easy to setup, really does not matter which setup you use. With all kinds of plugins like Yoast and others you can add functionality that performs a specific task like optimization, or taking care of spam. The newer interface with blocks took some time to get used to but on the whole was pretty much getting used to. Even with a combination of old and new interfaces that I use for several blogs it really isn't a problem. The possibility to go to mark-up text is a lifesaver that allows manipulation of text and images,

Cons

Every now and then Wordpress messes up the image upload. Whether it is the size of the upload or the number of files, it gives me an error with the files. Either reducing it in size or reducing the number of downloads usually does the trick. It would be nice to have that in the program it self.

Reason for choosing WordPress

No process or procurement. Just went with Wordpress

### "best cms for small websites "

in all ways wordpress is great cms for simple website if you starter recommend wordpress with no doubt

Pros

ability to rebuild functions, what i mean for example is how simple i can control styles scripts with simple lines without need to edit source view pages , in wordpress i can mange multiple themes to choose any of theme any time and change from them in one click how awesome is that.

Cons

i think wordpress need to force OOP build plugins and set plugin force structure , i mean its time waste to understand each plugin structure to customize otherwise if wordpress force them to use OOP it will unified and help developers to add stars level features

### "Wordpress review 2021"

September 27, 2021

5.0

Thanks to WordPress I started to realize that, there is so much useful software and we can build anything we want. The benefits were great. The fun, the hard work, the excitement, the experience that I got with WordPress is so much more.

Pros

It was easy to use, and there were so many options to improve my blog and website. The ability to have complete control and flexibility is what makes WordPress.org so great and useful. The benefits of utilizing WordPress.org include the fact that it is a free, open-source program that allows you to maintain control over your website. You can modify your site with the platform by altering the theme, installing custom WordPress plugins, and creating unique apps.

Cons

Some themes and plugins are available for free, but they come with some restrictions. It is the one tiny issue when we want to do something extra with the Pro plan theme or plugin. However, WordPress is a complete open-source platform for creating websites, and the majority of people around the world rely on it. Overall, this is fantastic, and I can't say enough good things about WordPress.

### "Build a stunning and perfect website instantly using WordPress."

March 26, 2019

5.0

With the WordPress platform, I have build more than 20 websites with the lack of issues and It would be great if we have bit of programming knowledge about php language to customize codes in the platform.

Pros

With the WordPress platform, we can easily build a website in a few minutes. I have used this platform since 2016 and it was a great experience to work with. We can have lots of free plugins and free themes. Also there are paid themes and plugins which have advanced features. Based on our interest we can select a theme and easily customize the website. Even we can have search engine optimization(SEO) for our website. Also, there are lots of tutorials which have created for WordPress and it was super easy to learn. We can customize the code using the editor section and can have perfect stunning website.

Cons

Main cons which I have found was if we include heavy images or video content , our website performance will be bit slow and website take sometime to load the pages. Also,if we do not hide the admin login(/wp-admin) from the public it can be a security threat for our website and there will be vulnerability for our website from attackers or hackers.

### "Wordpress for Agencies"

March 19, 2020

4.0

We use Wordpress to set up content and eccommerce sites using WooCommerce. My experience is as an admin and trainer for our clients to learn how to use their sites. We will also maintain sites and plugins from time to time.

Pros

Wordpress provides the quickest way for our company to setup a CMS and website for clients that are more budget conscious or don't need a custom solution. The availability of plugins and tools makes it easy to setup quickly and customize for client needs.

Cons

Certain limitations only appear with clients that end up require custom software. In those cases, it can be frustrating when there is not an out of the box solution and the path forward ends up being moving away from Wordpress than trying to make it work.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing WordPress

Costs are a big driver in ecommerce. While Shopify has a lot of good tools, Wordpress often comes in at a lower monthly rate for our customers who may only just be getting their feet wet with online shopping.

### "Creas tu sitio web o blog en pocos pasos"

October 20, 2022

5.0

### "Handsdown Winner is Always Wordpress"

September 9, 2022

Absolutely the best possible experience I could have ever had. Good thing I didn't focus on Joomla.

Pros

There is way too much to try to explain everything I like about Wordpress. I'll put it this way, I'd never EVER try to build a new website or manage any content online without using Wordpress. The day I don't use Wordpress is the day I retire.

Cons

There is nothing that I can come up with for a dislike.

Reason for choosing WordPress

I prefer the software is basically what it boils down to.

### "Anyone can build their own website"

September 19, 2019

5.0

I'm not new to building websites. I used to use Joomla and phpbb to build sites. I actually got fairly good at it. One day I decided to try Wordpress. I was concerned, as I didn't wish to build a blog. I always considered Wordpress blog software. I soon was very surprised that it goes well beyond blogs. It is one of the easiest to use to build your own website.

Pros

This software is beyond user friendly. With a small amount of research, you can build a professional looking website. This saves a purchaser a large amount of money. paying someone to build your site is very costly, and some non-for-profits simply don't have the capital to do so.

Cons

Unfortunately, Wordpress has always had a spam issue. Every contact form from Wordpress is constantly hit with spam. You can use captcha to offset the spam and use some plugins made to stop the spam, but there are always a few that slip through.

### "WordPress #1 Website Building Software Out There!"

October 5, 2021

5.0

I have been using WordPress for over 18 years building many sites for clients and have even run workshops showing people how easy it is to use this software.

Pros

It's very simple to install and start using. Has many widgets and plugins + themes this allows for unlimited website design for any user, new or old.

Cons

It's very easy to use. Sometimes you might need to edit the raw HTML to get certain things the way you want but this is hardly ever.

### "Facilitating my online business!"

August 4, 2020

5.0

As I mentioned earlier, my journey with Wordpress has been mainly positive. Of course with every piece of software you have your off days, however these small challenges have been easily overcome and resolved.

Pros

Wordpress has allowed me to enter the online world in a way that I could never have imagined. The flexibility of the software, with all the additional plugins available, provides me with the vehicle to reach people that I would not normally have reached with traditional means of marketing. Today, I base my entire online branding and marketing within the Wordpress environment and I have never regretted it.

Cons

I have to admit, the learning curve at the beginning was daunting. However, after I completed a few free online tutorials and watched many Youtube videos, I quickly cottoned onto how the environment works and have been happy with the decision to move onto Wordpress ever since. I think one of the biggest challenges at the moment is plugin capatibility - which is not an issue with Wordpress. It depends entirely on the robustness of the plugin developers coding. Staying on top of the updates for the wordpress core is also a small hurdle that I must remind myself to perform every now and again.

### "Industry Standard for Web Design"

February 19, 2021

5.0

I have used Wordpress for several different websites. We currently use it within our organization and I use it for my wife's business and also for our volunteer fire departments website. Again it is simplistic and for those less knowledgable about web design the platform allows for the user to walk through the design process with simplistic instructions.

Pros

I have been using Wordpress for the last several years. I often recommend this platform over others to colleagues and friends as it is the most widely used platform for web design available. It is simplistic and easy to walk through for those who are less than knowledgeable about web design while allowing full customization for those who are very knowledgeable. There are hundreds of pre-designed templates that you can utilize in your design. On top of the templates if you switch from one template to another it automatically carries your content from one design to another so you do not have to input all the information in again.

Cons

While there are hundreds of templates and customizations to choose from and some are free, in order to expand the customization or unlock other features there is a cost for doing so. Every customization or theme has a cost association to it; however, those costs are often negligent for what you are getting.

### "You won't be hard-pressed with WordPress."

March 5, 2021

WordPress has helped with our SEO, it's very responsive, and has open source which has been a game-changer.

Pros

WordPress is the perfect software for our organization. It's very easy to use and customizable. The change management for this platform was smoother than most platforms in the past. There's a very strong content management platform built in.

Cons

Overall it's a great software, but like most softwares... updates can be burdensome, but nothing out of the norm. I would advise people to be diligent when updating their instance. You may notice slowness of speed if you're using a sophisticated theme, but nothing detrimental.

### "The most reliable website builder"

October 7, 2022

4.0

Pros

WordPress is the most well established website builder and content management software online. It has been around for years and built a solid reputation for being reliable, trustworthy and easy to use. While some other website builders like Wix or SquareSpace are easier to deploy, they aren't great long-term for a customizable website---WordPress is.

Cons

If you want to customize your website you have to pay. You can pick free layouts and pay a small fee for WordPress to host it, but if you want to scale your webstie you will pay.

### "Great for Simple Landing Page and Blogs"

May 26, 2019

5.0

Overall if you are looking to create a simple site for lead generation or blogging, then Wordpress is still a very viable solution. If you are looking to create a complex web application, do not even think about using Wordpress. There are more up-to-date technologies to be used to make your web app quicker and much more scalable.

Pros

The best part of developing websites on Wordpress is easily it's community support. The time spent doing front end development is cut down drastically with the vast amount of themes available for Wordpress along with dead-simple drag and drop builder plugins that decrease development time even further. Wordpress has arguably the largest plugin and theme directory of any content management system available, which means you don't need to spend time recreating the wheel because everything has already been developed for you.

Cons

The worst part of Wordpress is it's outdated technology. With progressive web applications becoming an industry standard, Wordpress is left is the dust with mainly it's lack of speed. These speed issues can be countered by using static site generator plugins, but often these plugins can create bugs that take hours to solve.

### "Why isn't everyone using wordpress?"

January 9, 2024

5.0

Pros

We use wordpress to create and update our company website. I really don't know why everyone doesn't use Wordpress; it is easy to use, has so many plug ins available so it's very flexible and allows you to give individual users very specific capacities so that any employee can update a post or page if we give them access but they can't accidentally delete the company logo or the whole website. Also, Wordpress has stayed competitive as technology has changed.

Cons

The free templates all look very similar, it's very obvious when a site is using a free template, we had to purchase a paid template to look different than other sites. But it wasn't very expensive so it's not a terrible thing.

### "Easy to Learn, Great to Scale With"

August 8, 2018

5.0

When we need to build an inexpensive, beautiful website, we choose Wordpress. It helps our clients get an easy to update website with a great style.

Pros

Whether you're writing a personal blog or building your company's website, Wordpress is the way to go. There are so many integrations, themes and support articles. Plus, you can create your own blog on a Wordpress domain for free or use your hosting subscription to create a free Wordpress install (or choose a paid Wordpress.com plan). It is so easy to get a beginner started using Wordpress and it's a skill they'll most likely need for other jobs. Then you can get more complexity out of Wordpress where you need it in terms of custom designs, plug-ins, integrations, etc. We personally build 75% of our websites for clients on Wordpress because it's so well known and so easy to manipulate.

Cons

If you do want to go beyond the basics, you'll need some technical knowledge in HTML / CSS and perhaps PHP and beyond! And there can be a lot to learn here, meaning you may need to hire a professional to build a custom website for you. Other than that, I can't think of any other disadvantages.

### " Design your site in the easiest way"

August 13, 2018

5.0

We had many headaches every time we wanted to make changes to the site: text, image, design, etc. Now with the wordpress migration it is only a matter of a few minutes and update. Its simplicity and ease of content management is what allows to recommend this tool We can add different visual or design elements. And the most important thing is its responsive development

Pros

Wordpress allows you to optimize the process of posting information in real time on the website. There are multiple sites to choose a plan of this powerful CMS tool. However, all have a very similar methodology of implementation. It was very helpful to migrate our static site to this dynamic tool. Wordpress allows you through plugins the integration of particular features so adding a feature that is not mainly in the template will not be a complex task. Quite the opposite is a matter of creativity and implementation research. You have an administrative panel and the facility to define user roles. As well as, characteristic for each of them So, before starting to develop a static site it is preferable to take advantage of the benefits of this great CMS - Wordpress

Cons

It would facilitate the implementation from scratch of the CMS. Taking into account, have a database with possible errors or lessons learned in the integration of each planitlla It is simpler to have a guided tutorial within the admissive panel or, a portal where the practical cases of the implementation of the CMS - Wordpress are exposed

### "I use this software frequently and it is ideal to create and manage web platforms"

June 29, 2018

4.0

I have been self-taught with this software and it has allowed me to expand my knowledge in the creation and management of websites which has helped me in my work environment

Pros

Is an excellent content management platform that allows you to create websites in a simple way, one of its best strengths is the practice with the use of custom templates, which is an extremely useful tool for all amateur users without any knowledge in the creation or modification of websites. In addition, the plugins allow repowering the content you want to add on the website to expand the creativity and originality of it according to the objective you want, for example, turning the website into an electronic store is really simple and practical. The most incredible thing is that you can use the wordpress templates on another personal website.

Cons

This software works with less capacity for personalization of designs, which sometimes results in a less professional image of the website, so it is not recommended for business pages, in the same way the templates tend to be simple so if desired a specific personalized style is recommended to hire an expert

### "Incredibly versatile and powerful web platform"

April 16, 2020

4.0

Wordpress has been the perfect web platform for my businesses and has always risen to any challenge I have given it. It may not be the easiest to use, but it is the best platform out there in my opinion.

Pros

I look after two very different websites built using the Wordpress platform; a commercial multi-vendor marketplace for music and a children’s cancer charity. The fact that both organisations are perfectly supported with the Wordpress platform speaks of its versatility and breadth of functionality. Effectively anything is possible as long as you have the vision and are willing to put the effort into achieving it.

Cons

The open nature of the development platform does mean that there are risks and pitfalls to be avoided with some poor quality plugins out there and the possibility of conflict between them. However, time spent investigating the best solutions and careful integration will always be rewarded.

### "Wordpress by far the best CMS and blog engine ever"

February 13, 2021

Almost 40% of all customer projects are built on wordpress, it's cost effective, it's not resource hungry like ghost and the best part is huge developer support we get with wordpress, the community is vast and everyone is extremely helpful making it our go for choice for low cost projects.

Pros

First thing comes to mind is open source availability of the code everything is public, if you want to build a custom solution with wordpress you got it, you want to have nice looking frontend for your websit? well wordpress have an endless library of themes and styles. The wordpress learning curve is amazing even a beginner intern can learn and start building wordpress plugins after just a single week. You can imagine how easy this thing is, just awesome.

Cons

the only thing i hate about this is too much work is being done on backend with database the whole package will crash if you have single string mis-configured in the database. The other thing not so bad but the backward compatibility will just break your entire project so we careful what plugins/themes you installed on your installation.

### "Wordpress helped build my first attempt on undertake"

January 28, 2019

5.0

My overall experience is great, I love wordpress even if I want some things to be different, but it helps a lot!

Pros

I like how userfriendly wordpress is, it has a lot of stuff to manage content and plugins to help accomplish stuff that a non computer science guy couldn't do by itself, all by just doing some clicks and setting up stuff. Of course if you want to do more elaborated stuff you will need to know some HTML, CSS, bootstrap and javascript but if you just want a quick way to show your business information you can download a theme and start writting some content.

Cons

One thing I still don't understand is that it seems like every theme for wordpress has their own functions, this makes it so confusing to do exactly what you want if you start with a theme as a base to show your business, it would be better if there was some kind of consensus so things are easier. For example, from the business I work with the theme has really cool php functions to order and show posts, in a way to it's so wasy to understand, but in another website I was creating for myself I installed a theme that had some really difficult to understand php functions that does exactly the same as the other wordpress I use, so why can't we have exactly the same php functions for every single theme?

### "So far, the best CMS I've ever tried."

November 15, 2019

5.0

Overall my experience is great. I've worked with WP for a couple of years as Web developer and all customers were happy with the results, needing only minor maintenance from my side, since the admin panel is quite easy for everyone to use.

Pros

I tried both, the self-hosted and the online managed versions. While both of them allows easy management, the self hosted version allows extra customization options since you've access to the source code, so you're able to modify virtually everything on it behavior and appearance. It is also great that there are a big community behind WP, so you can find tons of plugins and themes, both free and paid. Also, thanks to those many plugins you can turn WP into anything you want, a blog, a traditional website, an online shop, a chat room... possibilities are endless. Besides this, PHP is really easy to manipulate and being opensource, you can modify the code or create custom plugins as you want.

Cons

So far didn't find any major cons. It is opensource and with great community so the few bugs you can find are quickly solved.
