### "The Best Website Builder For Your Brand"

August 4, 2022

4.0

WordPress has allowed me to create a professional-looking website without having to hire a developer, and I am very grateful for that.

Pros

WordPress is the best website builder hands down. With endless plugins to help any business customize it to suit their needs and brand, there's simply no comparison. WordPress is user-friendly, easy to use, and extremely versatile. You can create any type of website you can imagine with WordPress, from a simple blog to a complex eCommerce site. And because WordPress is open source, there are no limits to what you can do with it. If you can dream it, you can build it with WordPress.

Cons

The continuous headache of updating plugins

### "A must have tool for website creation & management. Not suitable for everything, but easy for a lot!"

February 13, 2018

4.0

Pros

A very quick way to launch a website for free with a great variety of themes to choose from, many of which set the standard for contemporary design (or at least, follow the standard, if not setting it) including early adoption of responsive design. Plugins can do what a custom developer would take weeks to learn - they draw on the collective knowledge of the plugin developers, and that can be a real boon.

Cons

The world's most popular open source website platform is prone to exploits and requires daily patching for security. We have seen sites hacked, and then the owner contacted by Federal Police because of harbouring terrorist propaganda (unknowingly on their hacked website). We have to insist on the use of automated updates for the safety of our clients (and ourselves). While specific themes make it easier (or harder) the average person, even a savvy business person, can find it difficult to manage their site with WordPress, let alone set it up, or get specific and detailed about the presentation of it. There's not much you can't do with WordPress, but it is limited by the quality of the plugins, and I don't think there's enough vetting and rating of the quality of plugins. One has been installed without the admin's permission and penetration software hidden in it... it's hard to tell who or what went wrong, but plugin integrity would be a first good step. Speed can be an issue depending on which theme you select, and while there's a myriad of caching plugins, they often introduce their own problems. Hopefully Google's recent announcement of assistance to WordPress engineers will speed things up.

### "Beautiful customizable websites at your fingertips"

January 28, 2021

5.0

I am thrilled to have such a beautiful web presence that represents my business and what we do as I continue building the brand and the messages at such affordable prices that aren't going to bust me in my first year as a founder of a new company.

Pros

I LOVE the variety of layout options and plug-ins. I understand that the version I am using is a big improvement over earlier ones so I am super excited to have a product that is evolving and will be easier and easier for me to use. I appreciate the guidance and advice that is built into the tools. I love the variety of layouts and optional add-ons that are easy to add and customize them to create my vision. The reporting has also been very helpful as I figure out which parts of my site are visited most frequently and which aren't so that I can improve those that aren't and leverage those that are.

Cons

I am not afraid of technology even though I didn't grow up with it. I have struggled from time to time with certain features or bugs that I ended up having to send to my developer friend to ultimately solve. Unfortunately, the more obvious they seem to be for me to solve, the harder they are. For instance, one of my images refused to fit into the space I designed for all my images and every time is slid across the screen, it overtook the entire screen. I tried multiple ways to fix it on my own and eventually had to ask an expert to help. So, things are not entirely as intuitive as they might appear.

### "Suitable to get the job done"

January 16, 2019

4.0

Overall, WordPress is a great, effective tool. It has some flaws, but it definitely gets the job done and you can create a completely unique site with it. The biggest down-side is being forced to install a lot of different plug-ins and integrate other platforms to get some basic features; it would be great if those features were native to WordPress itself.

Pros

WordPress creates high-quality sites that look great. It also allows for a lot of different plug-ins and integrations which create a ton of options; however, these plug-ins and integrations are necessary for some customization, which can be frustrating.

Cons

While the ability to add plug-ins and integrations is great, the fact that some are necessary for the product to work as desired is frustrating. Having to keep up with a ton of different installs and updates is annoying, and sometimes a plug-in's update will cause havoc on the site. They're great to have a ton of options and features, but sometimes they're necessary evils just to get the features you want.

### "I'm never going back!"

February 9, 2021

5.0

I love having the freedom to build my site exactly how I envision it, while still being able to use Wordpress's user-friendly backend WYSIWYG editor, and plugging in pieces from the millions of coders, creators, and fellow users.

Pros

I learned to create websites from scratch in Dreamweaver, which is cool but often an unnecessary amount of work for what you're trying to make. Then tried using subscription/ software that gives you themes and lets you fill them in, which is easy but also a pain and impossible to fully customize. Wordpress is the perfect spot in the middle - you can start with a theme and customize (or not) as much as you need! You actually have full control over your site without having to make everything yourself from scratch. This is how it should be.

Cons

It can be intimidating and frustrating- it's still web design. Things don't always play together nicely, especially when piecing elements together from different sources. But the reward of getting what you want in the end is worth the effort. And support is almost always out there on a message board somewhere if you really need it.

### "Perfect Tools for Building a Website Without Coding Skills"

May 28, 2019

5.0

We have been very happy with WordPress for our use. We are a small organization and don't have any coding skills, so we needed something that we could use, update, manage without a lot of prior knowledge. We've had to make a lot of changes to Wordpress in order to keep is secure, and Wordpress is making large strides to help simplify this.

Pros

Wordpress was very simple to set up and get going. There are a lot of great templates to get started and lots of great plugins to use. Without any coding skills, we were able to get a fully functioning website up and running in a matter of hours, rather than days, months, or years.

Cons

There is a lot of maintenance and when you need to start customizing things beyond what your template or plugins are able to do for you, it can be really difficult. Wordpress was obviously created as a blogging platform, but has widely been used as a web designer. It is pretty clear that there are limitations when it comes to using Wordpress as a full website.

Alternatives considered

[Drupal](https://www.capterra.com/p/119594/Drupal/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

WordPress was far simpler to use than any other platform we were able to look at. Plus being able to host Wordpress on our own servers (through Wordpress.org) for free was a huge benefit.

### "WordPress Review "

5.0

My overall experience with WordPress is always amazing! My site has had so many engagement lately because of this site. It is super easy to send/share someone the link to my site. I love this site and will continue using it!

Pros

What I love about WordPress is that it is super easy to use and the feature I love the most is that there are thousands of Plugins that are free and allow you to customize and enhance your WordPress site. If there are any changes that you need to make to make to your site it is always so easy, which I love how simple yet amazing this software is! I highly recommend this to everyone!

Cons

One feature that can be a little intimidated is that it is your site, so any secure is all up to you! Of course if there is anything major involved customer service is always so helpful. One thing you need to keep in mind it is your business as it should be, which you should always make sure everything on your hand is always up to date. I highly recommend this site even then!

### "Word up to WordPress!"

February 26, 2019

5.0

Quick and easy access to the web with terrific themes and affordability.

Pros

I like to think I'm super tech-savvy. I roll into Starbucks with my iPhone 5 and wireless Beats and I feel pretty cool. The truth is, I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to websites. I can't program and I can't code. I'm not even sure what those things mean. WordPress is my best tech friend. In about 20 minutes I was able to put up a website for my daughter's jog-a-thon so members of the family and friends out of the area could participate. I did this by myself. Seriously. It's up and running right now. Themes? WordPress has a ton. I'm picky. I may not know what I'm doing but that doesn't mean I don't want my site to look good. WordPress had a TON of free themes from which to choose. With a little bit of help I was able to add a payment portal to the site so friends and family could contribute to the cause. It was pretty easy but I didn't want to screw it up. Next time I can do it myself, easily. One of the coolest things about using WordPress is the Support Community. I was able to ask questions in real-time and talk to other newbies about their experience putting sites together. It was really empowering to have that at my fingertips. I also loved how mobile-friendly WordPress is. I like to work off my phone. While I set up the site on my Mac I utilize it and check in on my phone. It looks great on my mobile and people have said how easy it is to contribute right from their phones. Give WordPress a try next time you need to throw a site up in a hurry!

Cons

Nothing. So user friendly and convenient.

### "The web runs on WordPress and you should too!"

March 26, 2019

5.0

Pros

WordPress is THE giant of content management systems, accounting for more than something like 25% of all websites. The .org version is free while the .com version is a freemium hosted service. I've specialized in the open-source .org version for about a decade now and I can say without a doubt that WordPress is extremely powerful. Due to the size of the community behind it, you can achieve almost anything via WordPress - but it certainly comes with challenges. See Cons for more :)

Cons

So the biggest issue with WordPress is its own success. Because it's so huge, there are some many people developing bad software for it and malicious software is always targeting issues. As such, maintaining and keeping everything running smoothly for a novice can be overwhelming, or frustrating for those that aren't used to WordPress. If you aren't careful with plugins and themes, you can quickly build a bloated, slow, insecure dumpster fire.

Pros

The evolution of Blocks format has brought WordPress up to the expectations set out early in my experience: great looking websites with ease of use. The functionality is there without need to purchase templates for a non-coder (though basic coding skill is very helpful).

Cons

Early in my use of WordPress, training was very piecemeal, and I missed some important factors that would have prevented security problems.

### "Great solution with many addons"

December 4, 2019

5.0

It works great for an easy to build and install cms that has a nice visual effect. You can go prof with it, if you really need to or use additional addons that will help you.

Pros

I like the part that you can use different add-ons, themes, etc, that all suit your needs. But at the same time, you can go and dig in and change something yourself if you really need to. But there are a lot of addons that will help without going into the source code.

Cons

The addons are not filtered according to whether they are free, basic use is free or entire use is not free. There are addons that are ad based free, others are completely free. Some filtering (additional) would be nice.

### "wordpress is the best website editor for apprentices"

July 2, 2022

the business difficulty with wordpress is that I have to find and pay an online host so most of the hosts I met did not guarantee a good speed of the site so I increased the price of my blogs depending on the performance of my host

Pros

wordpress is open source which allows all other developers to make changes to the website through access to the source code so being able to add connect my system to other software makes me happy

Cons

it is not possible to do drag and drop for the creation of the website so the creation of the content of the website is not obvious for a person who has no knowledge of HTML or any other language and the lack of support is a real problem

### "Highly Recommend WordPress"

March 28, 2019

5.0

I feel like the benefit has been life changing. WordPress works all over the world and I know that because the stats have shown people reading my blog from over 70 countries. I feel very blessed for the opportunity to be part of the WordPress community and to share my cancer journey and survivorship with others. It has provided an outlet for me to process through writing and to reach others who are in the same position as me.

Pros

I really enjoy the ease of use with this software. I actually use WordPress for my work website as well so I am literally on it every day and can't think of a time that I've had any issues with it. WordPress sends tips about how to grow your blog or with tips on how to use the software which has been a huge help as well. I used one of the templates that they offer to create my website and I get compliments on it all the time. I also like the way it appears on a mobile device and is very easy to navigate no matter what device you use. The app is very helpful with the breakdown of statistics that can be viewed by day, week, month, or year and it helps me evaluate how to move forward with blog posts.

Cons

There really aren't a lot of things that I don't like about it. The one thing that I would say is that sometimes when the email goes out to my subscribers, the formatting is messed up, but I have to wonder if that is something I'm doing wrong, not the software. Because of that, I usually make sure all of my photos are centered rather than wrapped around so I know it will come across cleaner in emails, as well as on my website.

### "That is how I build things."

March 27, 2020

5.0

I've been using it for years for any web project, be it personal, company or in-between, friends, colleagues. Anything that i need to do I easily visualize in my head what I'm going to need and I can get that up with Wordpress as a core structure in short time, with little issues. That makes it so flexible and the backbone of a lot of the things I do.

Pros

I can pretty much make it do anything I wish for most of anything that goes out on the internet. It can interact with anything and it can be anything.

Cons

It is difficult to maintain such a big project with so many add-ons, sometimes the official uptake on features is slow, but that is where there are tons of plug-ins, so it's not an issue.

Alternatives considered

[Drupal](https://www.capterra.com/p/119594/Drupal/)[Joomla](https://www.capterra.com/p/161648/Joomla/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

I've used a plethora of CMS over the years but they are not structured in a way as to make things easy to use to both the developer, administrator AND the users. Whenever I dealt with Joomla, I could hardly delegate to colleagues as it was a headache to figure out. Wordpress allows me to set up the "complicated" things, while making it EXTREMELY easy for anyone to pick up and maintain with articles, posts and the normal usage of a website.

### "By far the best framework for web development in the market"

May 5, 2019

5.0

My company often carries out web development projects, so the use of this web development framework facilitates this process, reduces costs and yields better results in record time, without a doubt an indispensable tool for anyone wishing to create high-quality web sites at low cost.

Pros

With WordPress I can create all kinds of websites that are fully manageable and adaptable to any device, with its thousands of templates I can quickly find the design that best suits my needs, and with its administration and customization panel I can change the design of the templates, the location of the menus, the position of the links of social networks, insert images and multimedia content, create new links, change colors and many more things, achieving as a final result that each website that I create is totally unique, I also have the possibility of adding an infinite number of functionalities thanks to the enormous amount of plugins that WordPress puts at my disposal, so it does not matter which type of website I want to create, whether it is a static or dynamic informative website, a personal website, a blog , a business website, an online store or even an eLearning project, with WordPress I can do it fast and simple. By far the best framework for web development in the market.

Cons

I have not found anything that I can consider negative.

### "WordPress is the ultimate launching pad for upstart website or blog creators"

November 7, 2018

5.0

Overall, WordPress is as reliable as the name-value implies. If you're just getting started with a blog or a website for your small company, this is a great place to start that won't cost you much time or money to get a professional looking website. If you're past the startup phase, or aren't willing to pay someone money to scale your site, you may want to find an alternative solution.

Pros

The setup and go process is the best in the marketing from what I've seen. The customization and affordable premium content like themes make this process even easier. Beyond that, once you're up and running, the management and maintenance tools are second to none--It's easy to buy or transfer a domain, change your themes, create and customize pages, and update your SEO as you grow. The integrations are also great, whether you're adding Shopify or placing social media widgets on your site.

Cons

This tool is made largely for beginners. It's hard to see long-term scalability for people trying to grow a site beyond a certain level. To that point, the best content all costs you something, so if you're looking for a simple and fully customizable tool that's free, you may be disappointed with WP. Furthermore, if you really want to grow and expand into a professional website, it can be quite an undertaking, as it requires more coding than some other website building options.

The wordpress site was a great and successful start for designing a site, starting a successful brand and making profits from the Internet, and because of its ease of use, today I am talking about it and gave a wonderful evaluation of it for the success it gave me.

### "Quick and easy solution for many applications."

December 12, 2019

5.0

When I need a website ASAP this is the easiest option, from blogs, zines to information or eCommerce sites. It takes virtually no time to setup a toolkit that'll cater to the business you're installing for and assuming installation of a third party theme, next day delivery hasn't been an issue.

Pros

Features I enjoy most are simple/straight forward themes, plugin options, vast amount of support and a massive community. It's highly adaptable and such a standard that virtually anyone can use it as a publishing platform. Many plugins offer great solutions for growth and commerce. Data is easily backed up and transferred across installations and between platforms. Free is always welcomed. SEO optimization options. Great in a pinch when you don't have the time or budget to commit to a larger project.

Cons

Frequent updates needed, plugin abandonment. Automation for many functions helps with the more tedious tasks but it's more often than I enjoy that an abandoned plugin will break parts of a site.
