### "The BEst CMS for Powering ANY Website"

October 10, 2018

5.0

It's been awesome. I've watched it evolve from a blogging platform to so much more.

Pros

I've been using it as an expert for maybe 7 years now and it still amazes me what you can do with it. It is, far and away, the best (and most popular) CMS in the world today, with so many available themes and plugins that do so many things, it would be hard to encapsulate it all in one review. I think the best thing about it is that it can function as both a consumer grade website or an enterprise grade website, and that there's no shortage of developers/knowledge out there if you need assistance.

Cons

If you want to make very, very specific changes to a theme, you may need to dive into the Editor in the dashboard and know a little bit of PHP/CSS/HTML/JS to get it done. I personally recommend X THEME for people wanting to start out in the world of WordPress enterprise website development, but really this is the case with any CMS or web dev project.

### "The best platform for organic promotion in Google!"

July 15, 2020

5.0

I started my first blog almost two years ago, I wanted to advertise products online and decided to try to promote the pages with the use of SEO that can be added as a WordPress plugin, time did its thing and the pages not late to come to the first places of Google, Considering other platforms, WordPress plugins bring me tools for best optimizing website performance

Pros

This is not a new thing that both Google and WordPress are good friends, as a blogger who wants visitors through Google, WordPress can definitely satisfy my demands, I was able to reach pages with thousands of thousands views with the right use of SEO, I recommend that WordPress is the best platform for organic promotion on Google.

Cons

WordPress can be a serious thorn in the side of new users who do not understand the concepts of rebsites(domains and hosting), Other platforms can be even more convenient and good for the same blogger, but in order to take the site to the next level you should definitely think about using WordPress

### "The CMS Most Businesses Need"

November 19, 2019

5.0

I've used WordPress as a client, administrator and developer. In all cases, I've found it to be extremely useful.

Pros

Wordpress is well maintained and well documented. Has lots of features that make it easy for projects to spun up quickly. If built properly, it is extremely fast.

Cons

Constant core updates means someone at the company has to be on top of web maintenance. It is difficult to set a project up in Wordpress and pass it off to a client unless they are willing to put in the work to learn how to use the software.

Reason for choosing WordPress

Depending on the project, WordPress is a better tool. However, I would never recommend WordPress be used for a site with more than 25/30 pages or for sites that require a lot of documents and uploads.

### "Everyone Needs to Learn Wordpress"

May 7, 2019

5.0

Pros

Wordpress can be as easy or as complex as you want it to be. There are thousands of plug ins and hundreds of themes! depending on the theme you like, you can download a full website and edit what you need. There are plug-ins for SEO. Yoast SEO is my favorite to use. Its robust and does all the work under the hood of your website. SSL Certification is a huge thing to have on your website - yes, theres a plug in for this! I am currently building out 5 websites for our different companies. Wordpress is sexy, sleek, and most recognized by Google!

Cons

I wish you didn't have to have a server if you don't have a domain. Plugins and themes publish updates often. You have to manually update these.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

Wix's themes and pages are not recognized by google. Which means your Wix website will not be found on the first pages of Google. Wordpress is up to date with Google and is found!

### "Easy Web Building!"

December 5, 2019

5.0

For a government agency, it makes it easy for all of the employees to be on one platform and for everyone to edit pages/posts on their own. You still would want someone who specializes in web development or someone who is very knowledgeable in WordPress on staff/on call in order to sort out any kinks.

Pros

I love that the software is relatively intuitive - you can sign on and organizing a page/building a page is as easy as putting together a Microsoft Word document. They have all of the icons to click so you do not need to know any HTML to make things work. With that being said, if you are interested in customizing and do more sophisticated work on it, you can easily click the tab showing all of the HTML coding. This way, you can customize exactly what you want so it really is the best of both worlds.

Cons

What I enjoy least about the software is that some things are not intuitive - for instance, adding media requires you to upload the PDF document via the media folder, and then you have to copy the URL/highlight the text in order to link things. It seems like they could have made a drag-n-drop feature or something along those lines. The creating of tables feature is frustrating to me because the "standard" table that they create does not contain any lines. Therefore, if you want to make lines, you have to go into the HTML code to figure out how to do it.

### "Wordpress makes a great site, but not at beginner a level"

September 14, 2018

4.0

I have used WordPress for updates to both internal company Intranets as well as live non-profit websites. The navigation at first was difficult, but once conquered, I was able to add on and really be creative with the sites I am working with. WordPress is not for a beginner to jump right in. It is, however, a great site builder once accustomed to the way the navigation works. Ultimately, the options it allows, and with the add on packs available, it is a great tool for site builders at an intermediate level who want a professional looking product at a good price point.

Pros

WordPress does a great job providing an abundance of theme choices for the user. In addition, there are a number of additional "Add-On" packs that you can load at a reasonable cost to add features and functions. I also find the "Posts" in WordPress to be easy to use, and a quick method of adding a "Social Media" to your site. It makes it easy to add quick updates and news for your viewers.

Cons

Theme updates!! WordPress Theme updates seem to be a nightmare. Sometimes, if you do a theme update, your site will become discombobulated and you cannot revert it back. It leaves you with content out of place, missing information, and overall it can change the look of your site. If you are not expecting it, it can be traumatic, and then you spend hours fixing it to how it was before the update but the new theme.

### "The best when it comes to website building!"

July 6, 2018

5.0

You cannot get better than Wordpress when making a professional looking website. A perfect back engine for any size website, accommodating most needs you would have in 2018.

Pros

What I love the most about Wordpress is its flexibility to accommodate so many different needs, fo so many different website, groups of people, styles of content and ways of working. It is an incredibly versatile software. When I use it for my own personal portfolio, it is convenient, simple and works with a cheap theme I bought off the internet. We also use it at my work place which has very different needs for a website. For the company site Wordpress was able to incorporate a custom theme, created by a designer, allowing over 100 authors to post a variety of content with ease.

Cons

It might be a bit vulnerable to hacks and ads seeping into your website. o get rid of those you need to do a little bit of research online, but for this price, I find that an acceptable risk.

### "Building and maintaining a website made easy"

Our website can be updated, corrected and maintained in house without having to wait for someone to have free time.

Pros

I like the most about wordpress is I can design and maintain my own website without having to send a website designer my information, pictures, updates, corrections. I can do it all myself.

Cons

There is really nothing that I dislike, I do know that there are some add ons that are not available for all wordpress websites.

Reason for choosing WordPress

### "Wordpress has been my goto for 10 years"

March 6, 2019

5.0

I've been making wordpress sites for about 10 years now, and it doesn't look like i'll be replacing it anytime soon.

Pros

There are many pros to using Wordpress. FIrst and foremost its free open source software so anyone can use it. It's easy to setup, most hosting providers have options to automatically install it for you so you don't even have to worry about that. There are an incredible amount of free themes and plugins available for use. There is pretty much a plugin for anything you want to do. If you are a developer it's extremely easy to implement custom functionality. You can almost make a wordpress site do anything, which is amazing.

Cons

Due to its popularity wordpress sites are always being targeted by spammers/hackers so it's important to always keep your site and plugins up to date, but even with that, they do get infected here and there. Its hard to know sometimes which plugins you can't trust and don't have security flaws.

### "Helps millions of businesses to setup their websites..."

January 7, 2020

Very satisfied with Dropbox and plugins. All my clients and employers and myself are powered by Wordpress. It is free and opensource...

Pros

Wordpress used by millions of users like consultants, developers and entrepreneurs. It is easy to use CMS and available in multiple languages. The addons helps to run any type of businesses like News/Magazines, Blogs, LMS, corporate websites, directory websites and even a ecommerce marketplace... there are many security addons and database backup tools available for free and paid...

Cons

Wordpress should provide a built in plugin for automated backups of databases and media to a cloud platform like Dropbox or Drive.

### "A one-stop shop for your website needs."

September 5, 2019

5.0

Each time I have contacted support, I received prompt, helpful responses. My website is always up, and it looks great.

Pros

WordPress has been easy to use from day one. Within a few minutes, I was able to use their templates to create an attractive, modern blog. As my blog continued to grow, I was able to use the WordPress platform for hosting a full-fledged website, adapting their various plug-ins to my needs. Again, the templates were easy to use, look great, and provided for fantastic customization.

Cons

WordPress is not drag and drop like some other platforms, so for users used to that, there can be a slight learning curve. Knowledge of HTML or CSS is not needed, but it can make some aspects of customization faster. Due to the way he templates are implemented, many users may find themselves learning basic HTML or CSS as they work on their website.

Reason for choosing WordPress

WordPress had more of the features that I was looking for. With very little web development background, I appreciated their clean, professional templates. With plenty of plug-ins I have yet to use for my site, there is plenty of room to grow as my site continues to attract new readers.

### "Use independent WordPress installations for many websites I work with. Good option for most sites."

May 29, 2018

5.0

Pros

Free if you use the standalone install version. Lots of development around WordPress that makes it more function. Reliable plugins, most of the free, and many that are not free but worth the prices charged for them. Industry standard, so lots of online resources and consistent updates. Go to theme: Avada (tons of functionality that makes many other plugins unnecessary, lots of demo themes and installable demo pages or full designs to get you started) Go to other plugins: Updraft backups WPSuperCache WP Google Analaytics Dashboard Yoast SEO Cerber Security or Wordfence

Cons

WordPress is a basic platform. It should have involved a lot more basic functions, but instead it relies on 3rd party programmers to design plugins, some of which are later incorporated into the WordPress core installation. It takes some time to find the right themes and plugins to work with to create good sites reliably.

### "WordPress is the best CMS"

May 2, 2020

5.0

Wordpress easy to use to create your website, make yourself known on all known social networks since there are free plugins to integrate the main social networks to wordpress and thus increase visits to the web.

Pros

I like Wordpress since it is the easiest CMS to use, it doesn’t require so much technical knowledge, I could say that its 3 main advantages are: 1- it is optimized for SEO more than any other CMS. 2- there is an enormous amount of Plugins available for many things. 3- there is a huge catalog of themes to choose the design that best suits any topic. With wordpress creating a website is very simple, whether it is a business website or a personal blog, something I like is that migrating from one hosting to another with wordpress is easier than other CMS, in terms of security Wordpress has native support for HTTPS certificates, which makes it easier and improves the trust for visitors, which is why Wordpress is the most popular CMS and according to statistics epose 60% of the market share.

Cons

Something I don't like about wordpress is that many of the plugins and themes have to be updated manually, this sometimes takes time. Another issue is that if you have a problem and want support is somewhat complicated, it is easier to search the internet for a solution than to contact support.

### "Great Software for Every Blogger"

December 15, 2018

5.0

Generally, I must say WordPress is a great software, I am glad to have used it in completing or creating my first website. \*smiles\*

Pros

How hard I thought creating a website would be, wordpress is indeed veritable when it comes to creating website. It is really simple to navigate due to its easy interface. I find myself creating a stunning website with it simple to add plugins and content management, I could write and format my text in the way I had like to and also upload my media content. I am also pleased at the fact that it is free and little or no skills are required in programming before you can set up your own website. Finally, I would also want to point at the dexterity in which the wordpress support team do their job, they come to rescue just when you need them, with apt response and skills in handling any glitch.

Cons

For the cons, I can't really pinpoint any aspect which I find lagging or bad, but for sure I would want to make mention of the bulkiness of different plugins similar to what you have searched making you download loads of unnecessary plugins you really don't need.

### "one of the best CMS"

May 22, 2018

5.0

As a resource, knowing the answers I need for any changes I need to make right there on the WordPress.org site gives me confidence when I commit to the functional request of my clients.

Pros

It is easy to modify or start from the beginning. We can add many widgets, sliders and add-ons. Great flexibility with easy operation when the generation changes the template of the website can be grouped to the current trend. Developing the site quite fast with Wordpress. It is very adaptable. The main advantage is search engine optimization. I also love that WordPress provides a good preview option, so you can see your work before publishing it for the world to see. It's a good and powerful combination of features!, it's nice to have two levels of back-end editing, so I can leave the work more complicated to our graphic designer and web editor, but I can still do the daily updates and the quick fixes that are needed when using the most basic functions.

Cons

Integrations of add-ons can sometimes be dubious, which requires a bit of manual work, especially if a client insists on a specific topic that does not work well with others. Opensource complements lead to the author's occasional abandonment, where an essential complement will be outdated and will stop working or will pose a security problem.

### "Wordpress is perfect for Small Business"

October 10, 2017

5.0

I received a professional Website that my Business can manage. My Website provides an organized place for my future and existing clients can see my services, fill out forms. I can Blog using Wordpress, which is really helpful for my google searches. These blogs are easy to post and are proven to bring business. Fyresite has had client call, asking about the blog post which leads to a sale. And even though I pay a premium for the design of my website, our clients find it inviting and easy to Navigate. Our Contact forms are connected to our Zoho CRM so not only do my sales get an email directly, I'm also able to see all the forms in the WordPress portal. and organized in my CRM. And for the cost, a WordPress website built by me the average joe would probably cost the same as a Wix website. but what a professional can build a Wix website vs a WordPress website. The WordPress website is going to run so much nicer, and it will be able to look better than any Wix website. and Yes it is worth the money

Pros

I love how professional a website can look using Wordpress with having the ability for anybody to update the website content easily. The website developed by professional developers, which is kind of a pro and con. Our website is inviting for our customers. And builds trust to our customers before they even come to our office. Wordpress dashboard has been fluid to work with. Ffor people who have little to no experience will beable to use the dashboard.

Cons

The cost was fair but still high. We see it as almost the cost to for 1 years rent. Which is not that bad because our developers said our website should last 2-4 years. I cannot do any design changes without paying for a developer. Customer Support depends, most customer support would not be with WP but the developers either making the templates or plugins on WP, so the support varies from developers.

### "It is what it is. "

February 9, 2021

5.0

Overall it’s useful and good. It’s very user friendly and after a while easy to adjust to.

Pros

The media management tab/storage is quite useful. I like that it shows what each item is linked to. I also like that if you mistakenly try to delete something you are prompted to ensure that is what you want to do. There’s also a feature to undo a trashed item or revert back to a previous version of a page.

Cons

I recently tried to link a juicer account to show our social media feed on our main landing page. After many failed attempts I had to consult with our University’s PR Team and have them figure it out. It took some time for them as well but they got it.

Reason for choosing WordPress

This is what the university purchased.

### "The best CMS for literally anything"

October 7, 2021

Pros

I like everything about WordPress. It's just amazing. I came to know about WordPress in 2017 and started my own WordPress powered blog in 2019. And since then I have around 4 5 and all of them are made on WordPress. I have a blogs and a e-commerce site. Something I really like the most are the plugins and themes which are available for WordPress. There are thousands and thousands of plugins and themes for WordPress and they are super easy to use. A person with no coding knowledge can easily make website with WordPress.

Cons

Something I don't like is the paid plugins. Like literally, I have to pay for every good plugins which is out there. Though there are thousands of plugins with their own free versions as well. But who doesn't like more features.

December 5, 2019

We use Wordpress both as an e-commerce platform. We have solutions that were "made to measure", because there was no app for that. Only my imagination is a limit.

Pros

I love the fact, that WordPress is a popular and open source. If there is no solution for functionality you need, you can easily find a developer (or even a ready to use app!) .

Cons

Its not SAS, so you need an admin to take care of updats, software, hardware, and stuff. Its not hard, but ... its something you have to do.

### "Not for enterprise unless you do VIP"

December 10, 2019

3.0

In short, if you can afford WordPress VIP, then go that route. If you can't, then keep your site simple, because the no man's land in between the two is a bit scary.

Pros

Wordpress is great for blogs and simple websites. And if you're willing to pay some developers, then it is pretty good for some things that are more involved than that. It's really customizable, but that comes at a cost.

Cons

You can build anything on WordPress, but that doesn't mean you should. My team has built a news content website on WordPress, and while it gets the job done okay, it is a lot of work to manage. You have to constantly fix bugs, constantly implement security and other updates, and hope it doesn't randomly break. We were down for 2 days last week because some security updates from WordPress didn't have adequate documentation and broke things that they shouldn't have broken. Our writers are always running into challenges with things not quite working right.

### "Best Content Management System for the price"

August 7, 2020

4.0

I have been using Wordpress for many years and it meets all my needs very well. Very easy to move and very easy to make the site beautiful and functional. I always preferred the version installed on a server instead of wordpress.com, because in the server version there is total freedom to install themes and plugins.

Pros

Very easy to use. Depending on what you want there is no need for code knowledge. Many themes available (including free) and also many plugins. Constantly updated to improve features, performance and security.

Cons

If you use too many resources (too many plugins, too many images, etc.) the system is still a little slow to load. Access to the administrative area is a little insecure, some measures must be taken (installation of plugins, camouflage the address of the administrative access, for example) so that you are not the target of intrusions.
