### "WordPress, best website builder of all time"

September 16, 2021

5.0

I can simply say I have found my ideal way of building my website and am sticking to it for a very long time. Though I have refused to host my site with wordpress.org.

Pros

WordPress is an awesome store builder that allows developer to build a unique website that can be hosted easily even without having the knowledge of coding. WordPress has a good number of free theme that I can use to build a website of choice. Lots of Plugins are available making functions easier to manipulate on my site. My website speed is always at it's maximum making WordPress my choice platform for building any of my website

Cons

What I really don't like about WordPress particularly is their high hosting fee for a website.. The Price involve in hosting a website with WordPress.org is way to high.

March 7, 2021

This tool has allowed me to create and design web pages without any problem and easily. It also has varieties of functions that allow me to add to my page as well making my page look professionally and visually attractive to my clients

Pros

I like using Worpress because it is an excellent tool for work since it allows me to create pages or websites from its platform easily and with multiple functions that it offers me and makes my website look very professional and attractive for my clients

Cons

Wordpress is an excellent tool for work, however one of the things I don't like about this tool is that the technical support it has is only available for business or business plans. You also have data security issues

### "Great for those with intermediate technological skill!"

November 17, 2020

4.0

It was definitely difficult to figure out in the beginning, and it was a bit tricky at first finding the various customizing options, but once you figure out how their software works, it's incredibly easy to use and helpful!

Pros

I like the versatility of the software, and the ability to customize it using not only WordPress add-ons, but those made by third parties for WordPress websites. I love the fact that it's an open-source program, so you have a wide variety of options to choose from, both free and paid for.

Cons

It does have a steep learning curve, though not nearly as difficult to work with as some other website-building software. It's fairly easy if you're going with a ready-made template, but becomes significantly more difficult the more you customize your site.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)[Squarespace](https://www.capterra.com/p/143461/Squarespace/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

I liked the variety of customization options available through WordPress, compared to the extremely limited options available with SquareSpace. Wix is great for bloggers, but it didn't offer the functionality I was looking for in our website.

### "Learning Curve but Powerful"

October 13, 2017

5.0

I have been converting all my existing and new clients to the Wordpress framework. It is great to offer smaller businesses this option to help them save on costs incurred with other CMS' that charge monthly fees.

Pros

Wordpress' advantage is working directly from a database, allowing users to start small and scale with growth and saving a good chunk of change in development. Because Wordpress is open-source and has a huge community built around it, you can get the help you need easily and for free. There really is no limit with what you can build on the Wordpress framework and you save money not having to pay monthly fees you would have to pay with other CMS software.

Cons

It can be a bit overwhelming to new users. If you like the options of scalability, work with a designer to build your site. Depending on your designer's experience level, they can customize the backend for you to meet your needs and make it less intimidating.

### "Excellent alternative to custom website platform"

December 29, 2020

5.0

So far, we've had an excellent experience working with WordPress. It's excelling at what we need it to do.

Pros

WordPress is the basis for all of the websites that we do for our clients. As an out-of-the-box CMS, I don't think that anything rivals it. WordPress bridges the gap between template-type options (like Squarespace and Wix) and fully-custom sites built on their own custom CMS from the ground up. WordPress gives us the flexibility to have a back-end that's easy to manipulate and update, while having a front-end that looks completely unique.

Cons

Depending on the widgets that you incorporate into WordPress, you can occasionally have inexplicable UI issues. Widgets are developed by individual developers (sometimes) and odd bugs can creep in. Other than that, I'm happy with WordPress.

### "Website building made easy"

October 9, 2021

4.0

Very satisfied

Pros

Easy to use - even for those of us with little to no experience in website building and maintenance. I run a small business - a rather tiny one, and I am a huge fan of simple designs and straightforward solutions. WordPress has all one might need to create not just simple but more complicated designs. Plenty of templates, hundreds upon hundreds of plugins, user-friendly dashboard - and even for free you can get to impressive levels. I cannot recommend it enough: blogs, websites, online stores - you name it.

Cons

It took me a lot of digging, tutorial watching and trial and error to figure everything out. BUT. Since WordPress is such a widely-used platform, there is a plethora of information and guidance in and around it. Whether it is customer service or forums, so far I found the answer/solution to all my questions/problems, and my website is up and running, working like a charm. If, like me, you have no experience with websites, patience and curiosity is key: the effort and time invested in the figuring-it-all-out pays off at the end of the day/month/season.

### "A must have tool for small to medium size organizations due to high functionality & low cost."

January 17, 2018

4.0

The ability to make a fully functional, professional looking website in an inexpensive manner. Way better option than Wix, which I used previously.

Pros

The software enables you to create a fully functional, professional looking website for a very limited fees. It also contains access to plug-ins, which will connect with the platform, to provide additional service the platform doesn't contain itself. For example, YOAST SEO is one of the most frequently used plug-ins, which allows the entry of customized metadata for all pages. A boatload of other plug-ins are available as well, such as form submission, content creation, and analytics. Different levels of packages are also available for organizations with varying degrees of service/functionality.

Cons

There's very little not to like about WordPress. Sometimes plug-ins won't play nicely together, resulting in some time consuming troubleshooting. Analytics are also not automatically recorded, a plug-in needs to be installed here as well (just like SEO). Essentially, plug-ins are the key to WordPress, and if you're unfamiliar with them, it could result in frustration. Customer support is also very limited (slightly better at premium levels), and you may also find support from forums and plug-in creators.

### "Great Website Platform for SEO"

March 14, 2021

5.0

Overall Wordpress is a great platform for web development. However you are not able to take care of or pay for the monthly maintenance, you could be setting yourself up for some real problems and in that case I would recommend another platform.

Pros

Our agency has been 95-99% Wordpress since about 2008. It's been a great platform providing beautiful looking websites that include sophisticated functionality and are great for building search engine presence.

Cons

You have to be prepared to keep up with monthly updates to Wordpress, the themes and plugins. We're finding this takes more and more time each month to keep everything dialed in so you either need to be prepared to do that yourself or pay someone to do it. Access to support can also vary widely for the themes and plugins so you have to be careful when selecting those. We've found ourselves stalled out badly with problems at times because a theme or plugin had terrible support.

### "Best website platform"

September 29, 2021

Pros

I use WordPress for all my websites and I must say, the platform is very productive in terms of generating good results. Very understandable and easy to use. Security is top notch and still improving by the day. I sure recommend this platform for anyone interested in getting excellent results.

Cons

WordPress is very good for Blogging and e-commerce. The only place I would want them to improve on, is on free templates. They should delete outdated templates.

### "If you're looking to build your own website then start here."

January 30, 2023

5.0

Positive. Sure, there are hurdles on the way but once you've installed, authored and launched your first Wordpress site, there really isn't anything left to scare you from doing it again and again.

Pros

Wordpress has been around for a long time. Whilst there are plenty of off-the-shelf / pay-by-the-month solutions for building either a blog, website or web store, Wordpress has number of things going for it: Loads of people use it = good support and knowledge bases; most web hosts offer a one-click install serve to get you and running; and there is a plethora of skins and templates to change the appearance of your design.

Cons

There is a learning curve. That said, the basic learning curve with Wordpress itself is pretty easy if you are conversant with most word processing packages like MS Word etc. Where it gets tricky is where you want to make customisations to a theme you may have downloaded for free or have bought. Depending on how friendly-to-understand your Wordpress theme is will hugely determine the ease with which it'll take to build your website. In short, buy a theme which has been purchased 1,0000s of times and offers a good support package - you'll be pleased you did.

Reason for choosing WordPress

The strength of its pre-existing user base and the depth of the support articles on hand.

### "Great web tool"

January 10, 2020

5.0

WordPress has helped me in many years and I feel happy since I have done several projects with this tool, it is easy and simple to work and all the people in the work team feel comfortable to be able to use it, also it brings efficiency due to the speed that you can get in the creation of web pages because when you have experience it is clear that you can do high quality projects and quickly with the tools it offers.

Pros

The essential characteristics of this tool is that it is very simple and easy to use and its website interface is very easy to understand, also if you have any questions you can search for tutorials and you will quickly have a lot of information to study and learn, it also has excellent utilities to creation of web pages with templates that make web creation very simple, fast and easy. It has many resources and options that can be used for every taste of the user, with a very good training you can use WordPress for websites in a professional way using a high quality hosting and good content you can get to position the web pages.

Cons

They should improve the interface of the assigned templates to be able to configure the website faster and easier and thus have a better quality of website and save time in each configuration, and I could also add that they should improve the loading speed of the websites when add-ons are added, however this is the only thing I can say that they would have to change because I feel quite comfortable using WordPress.

### "It is not an one for all solution, obviously"

January 25, 2021

5.0

There are better CMS alternatives in the market, but the popularity of WordPress made it be the "go to" solution.

Pros

The core WordPress is a stable and well-tested blog and small website software, content manager. It is flexible.

Cons

The biggest problem with WordPress is the lack of understanding that it is a blog software. Trying to use it as a one for all solution is very complicated, demanding a great number of plugins than not always work fine, creating Frankstein like solutions.

### "Very simple and effective platform"

August 28, 2018

5.0

Due to me being completely ignorant of the internet, SEO, and everything related to these things, I and my company were being taken to the cleaners day after day by unscrupulous marketing people who preyed on our ignorance and charged exorbitant prices for something as simple as creating a Google listing. Our online presence was a mess. I finally got fed up and began to immerse myself in learning all I could about online marketing, and soon decided to bring it all in-house. Best move ever. It took a long time and a lot of effort to get our online presence cleaned up but we now know that all of our listings are accurate and complete. I've enjoyed it and I feel that by writing and creating my own content I am able to have a leg up a lot of amateur or even professional copywriters and designers out there, because I know the ins and outs of my industry and can create content rich with a wide variety of industry-specific keywords or terms, whereas a person without knowledge of the work we do would use more generic verbiage which could potentially reduce the number of relevant search results we show up on. Because let's be honest, for every good professional web developer out there, there are ten who are mediocre or worse. No regrets.

Pros

I started with WordPress and zero knowledge of how to build websites. Using the many free and paid themes and plugins I was able to build a very professional-looking site that ranks very well in search results. I've gotten many compliments from the average user, web designers, and SEO people alike on my site, and they have a tough time believing me when I say I built it myself. Very happy.

Cons

The learning curve is steep, but that comes with the territory I'm sure when a person like me who has no experience or knowledge of graphic formatting, HTML code, etc sallies forth into the world of website design.

### "The only blogging alternative"

December 23, 2022

5.0

Pros

It is free. It is easy to install. There is no reason to use any other tool for blogging since wordpress has all the features you need to manage a website, very simple to very complex. Maie sure to install some must have plugins like wordfence, total cache and yoast seo. There are plugins for almost everything.

Cons

Unfortunately wordpress is also the preferred target for hackers. Make sure to setup wordfence with strict rules. You also have to keep it updated, so enable auto-updates even if they can break your themes or plugins.

### "I've been using Wordpress for more than 5 years!"

November 20, 2019

5.0

Launched more than 3 websites for myself and also built websites for my clients in very short time.

Pros

Wordpress comes with many options for everyone from different levels of technical knowledge! You can have it self hosted or managed hosting. Most of the hosting companies offers one-click-setup for Wordpress and it is crazy simple to start! Many of my friends started their business websites using WP and improved their skills in years. The plugin and theme market is enormously big and makes it possible for everyone to create custom looking sites.

Cons

Updating my Wordpress has always been stressful for me mostly due to breaking plugins and themes. You can tackle this problem with taking backups regularly.

### "It's the best CMS that exists"

June 24, 2019

5.0

As a creator of content for other people, I decided it was time to create my own website. Looking for the best CMS I chose Wordpress, mostly because of the level of customization it offers and the free software. Although I don't have extensive knowledge of code, there're many pages that offer tutorials and have helped me to deepen so as not to just stay with the pluggins tnat it offers and try to personalize my page every time a little more. There are many tools that help you learn and improve. The customer service attends very quickly and has answered my questions. It is an excellent software to go climbing in the web development. I started a few months ago to study it and to create my page and I've been excited, so I've been learning code little by little because my goal is to personalize my website at a professional level.

Pros

It's the best CMS that exists, ideal for both beginners and experts in the design of websites. What I like most is that it's very versatile and can be customized according to the level of web development knowledge that you have, and in any case, you can get a professional website. If you are a person who just discovered Wordpress, like me, and has no code knowledge, you have a lot of pluggins and templates both free and paid to help you create a functional website. If you have code knowledge, you can customize your page as you wish since the system allows you to add code lines to modify your website. There're templates and pluggins for any function, even to improve SEO, which is very useful.

Cons

All are advantages when using Wordpress, it's very easy and intuitive, it requires some effort when you start learning, but you learn quickly. I have no complaints regarding this CMS.

### "Best Content Management System for Beginner"

December 24, 2020

5.0

After using WordPress, I can control and develop my own website. WordPress theme has a professional look so I don't have to redesign any theme. All in all, WordPress is a very easy and best way for website management.

Pros

As a content management service provider for beginners, WordPress is the best content management service provider in the world. Any website in WordPress is very easy to manage, WordPress's custom plugins and themes look very professional and you can easily design and develop your own website using such themes. Using WordPress makes it easier for a new employee to manage a website, as there is no need to know programming to use WordPress.

Cons

WordPress is the best content management system in the world right now, out of an ordinary content management system. I can't find an alternative to this site. So it is foolish to defame it

### "A WordPress fan for life"

November 21, 2019

5.0

My overall experience with WordPress has been great. I particularly love how easy it is to modify web pages and see the results instantly on your live site. This alone has made WordPress my personal favorite site authoring solution.

Pros

I started using WordPress a few years ago. What I like most about this content management system is that is is very powerful and also very easy to use. It is powerful because users can add virtually limitless content and features to their websites. WordPress features dozens of plug-ins and widgets that can turn a routine website into something far more dynamic. It is also easy create pages, install and use plug-ins, and publish new content. Newcomers to WordPress will appreciate how something that is so easy to use can produce such great results.

Cons

There is little to dislike about WordPress. Its dashboard is well organized, enabling you to quickly navigate to the sections of your website you wish to modify. My biggest complaint is that the WordPress photo editor leaves much to be desired. If you need to crop or modify any of your images, I highly recommend doing this in another program like Photoshop rather than engaging with the WordPress photo editor. You will save time and the end result will be much closer to your intention.

### "Making a Website That You Control Has Never Been Easier"

I have been very happy with WordPress. I taught myself how to navigate the platform and there are so many great resources out there for people to learn.

Pros

How quickly and easily I can set up a site for someone and teach them to manage it on their own. I hate in my industry that may developers sometimes hold sites for ransom more or less.

Cons

There is a learning curve to it but once you learn the basics you are set! I love that they offer so many plug-ins as well. You can do things that used to take a fortune to get coded all yourself.

### "The BEST Site Building Platform"

January 24, 2019

5.0

I am a marketing media consultant who regularly builds websites for clients. I have tried a variety of site builders over the years (Blogger, Wix, Squarespace), and Wordpress is BY FAR the best. It's easy to use "right out of the box," and those who are advanced users can easily customize sites to their liking using code (if using wordpress.org, not wordpress.com). I won't use anything else if I can help it.

Pros

I love how easy it is to work with. The user interface is very user friendly. It's very easy to find what you need, make the updates and edits you want, and customize your site as you see fit. I love that there are a variety of really fantastic plugins to make customization a breeze, but you can also easily access and edit code if you need to.

Cons

I'm not a \*huge\* fan of the new Gutenburg editor, but I appreciate that they let you keep the classic editor if you so choose. I'm sure I could get used to Gutenburg, but honestly, if it ain't broke, why fix it?
