### "Favourite Hub to Create Website Easily "

November 25, 2019

5.0

Pros

WordPress is the most used platform to create a website, I have started using it in 2012 When I was creating a blog, I was amazed to use such an Easy Platform where we can easily create a web by using some awesome templates which are built-in. Without any 2nd thought, I am using WordPress from 2012 and right now more than 12 websites are created on the WordPress platform. Its really easy to manage, with the option to use Thousands of Plugins you can easily do any kind of thing on your website, very responsive and good for SEO as well. Highly Recommended.

Cons

Overall I like this platform but if you talk about the thing which you least like is we need to install plugins to use the option of Drag and Drop customization of the theme. Without plugin you cant do Drag & Drop customization.

### "Love/Hate Relationship Over the Years"

October 10, 2018

4.0

I've been using WordPress for over ten years, as a content publisher, a site administrator, and as a theme developer. It can be the right tool for the job if there's a person dedicated to maintaining and caring for it like a pet, but it is often used by unscrupulous firms as a "fire and forget" system that leads to unsecured sites after the security updates outpace the initial setup. I still use WordPress both on new and old projects today, but I am more likely to look at other options today than I would have been 5-8 years ago.

Pros

I love the extensibility of this platform. WordPress can be used to build a great number of user experiences for all kinds of different business verticals. And it's something that, at its core, you can teach just about anyone how to update the content. I swear by WordPress as the right tool for a whole pile of different jobs.

Cons

I hate the market fragmentation that's happened as this platform matured. WordPress has become a big sprawling mess of plugins and themes that CAN do amazing things, but add complex dependency issues and potential security risks on top of a "simple" system. For many clients these days, I will often prefer a static site generator to reduce the overhead and risk associated with running WordPress.

### "Easy way to build websites"

August 7, 2018

5.0

My daily go to software for building websites. Very simple to use, never any issues. I don't even think there are any other options out there.

Pros

I've used Wordpress to build my websites with since 2012 when I first started working online. It's extremely easy to use (although if you're a complete beginner, it will probably take you a few hours to understand everything) Most things are very self explanatory in here, such as "posts" "pages" "media" and other. Writing a post/making a page is very simple and is something that will only take you a few minutes to do. Adding images/videos to make it look nicer is very simple as well.

Cons

I honestly can't think of anything negative here. I've used Wordpress on a daily basis since 2012 and it's definitely easier to build a website using Wordpress than for example with html.

### "Stop looking at other CMS, WordPress has got your back!"

October 25, 2018

5.0

After having launched 3 websites in a few weeks time was a very AWESOME feeling. I have developed WEBSITES from scratch and WP makes it so much easy and my focus is just to make it LOOK GOOD, FUNCTIONAL, and PERFORM better, not to mentione making it MORE SECURE and USER FRIENDLY. Wordpress, I am a HUGE FAN!

Pros

Wordpress for me is the MOST COMPLETE and MOST SECURED Content Management System available for websites, internal or externally used. With version 5.0 just waiting to be launched around the corner, and its improved Editor, Gutenberg, I think we have the perfect CMS for any purpose and size. There are so many FREE and PAID plugins available, and the company behind WORDPRESS is just adding value to their software by having the most FEATURE PACKED subscription service available as a plugin (Jetpack anyone?)

Cons

Probably being FAMOUS has its downside, because WORDPRESS installations are probably the MOST HACKED software on the Internet. If you are not CAREFUL, hackers may easily leave your website and precious DATA hostage. Suggest hire an expert (ME??) to do your WP installation and maintenance to ensure that the software is running smoothly and securely.

Use it to manage web pages, blogs, and product pages

Pros

Simple themes to create and manage blogs and websites. It's consistent and offers tons of themes for the many needs of website admins.

Cons

It seems a bit outdated at times. Sometimes I wish WP offered the simplicity that wix websites offer. Where you can move an item or text around.

### "Usefull Plateform"

November 3, 2020

4.0

Very good experience, a fun way to build and operate a website for personnal use, e-commerce and even online database use.

Pros

Wordpress offers a very good plateform to build and operate website. It is customable, adaptable and can offer a lot of possibilities for different website types.

Cons

Since it is open source, the use of certain add-on (plugins) can sometimes create some minor issues (display error) or some major troubles (complete crash). You need to complete your due dilligence before adding a new plugin.

I've used WordPress for multiple sites, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to create a new website. Many plugins and themes are available that can add even more functionality to your website. It's great for amateurs and professionals who don't want to mess around

Pros

I often use WordPress to design my websites. WordPress is a fantastic platform for creating websites. It's free, easy to use, and jam-packed with features like blogs, e-commerce, and membership capabilities.

Cons

Personally, I don't find any inconvenience in it. There are a lot of plugins that allow facing the difficulty that we meet. After that, you just have to know how to clean up. lol

### "Makes managing websites very easy"

August 11, 2020

4.0

WordPress has made it easy for me to publish my blog and the strong community backing it makes it easy to find support.

Pros

WordPress comes with by far, the most powerful WYSIWYG HTML editor for composing and publishing pages on a website. The community is very knowledgeable and there are thousands of plugins available that enhance functionality. WP also ensures your site stands out on Google and other search engines, and makes it easy to publish a beautiful website, and easier to update content. It is also not difficult (for a web developer) to convert an existing static site into a WP theme for easier site management. WP is also open-source, which makes it easy for developers to customize and extend its functionality. Overall, WP is a great piece of software for websites.

Cons

WordPress does have a track record of having sites getting hacked, and the antiquated PHP codebase is becoming harder to manage. There are more modern alternatives, like Ghost, but they just aren't as powerful. The aforementioned security issues are also usually due to user errors and/or insecure plugins.

### "WordPress offers the most reliale CMS for the professional developers. "

July 30, 2019

5.0

We mostly implement Wordpress for the creation of high-end secured websites for our clients and even for ourselves. Even blogs related design can be implemented in a matter of hours.

Pros

Wordpress can be counted as one of the most powerful content management tool. It's quite easy to use and reliable to implement our websites. There are lots of customizable themes available with plugins. It is mostly handy for new developers with easy to use features and doesn't require any kind of complexity related to coding.

Cons

One thing that needs improvement regarding the Wordpress site is that it requires more security features. We personally have to invest lots of time and money in order to secure our sites in the best possible ways. But still WordPress is one of those highly recommended platforms where there are more Pros than Cons.

WordPress is the best and most easy-to-use CMS. It saves a lot of time as it has organized widgets and builders.

Pros

It is user-friendly. In this, we have a number of builders to create modern websites. We can create membership sites using different membership plugins.

Cons

In WordPress, if we exceed the number of products it slows down the site and has endpoints issues.

### "The Small Site Extensible CMS"

May 26, 2020

5.0

Wordpress has been a love-hate relationship. I like responsive web sites with rich function. I've coded PHP web sites and those hand coded sites are all faster than the fastest WordPress site. What WordPress gives to compensate for higher overhead is ease of user and setup and rich features to non web developers. Anyone who builds a site with WordPress should keep in mind that throwing plugins at a installation will generally make the site slower. Judicious use of plugins and choice of theme are important as they greatly affect responsiveness which is a key factor in user experience. WordPress is a powerful tool and in aware hands can create wonderful sites. In the unaware things can get out of control so quickly with slow bloated web sites.

Pros

Tight and efficient within Wordpress base code Well defined extensibility interfaces and theming Reasonably robust CMS platform

Cons

Many plugins are junk - plugins should be better vetted Plugins can dramatically hurt responsiveness Can be a memory hog Hard to determine which plugin may be slowing down WordPress

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing WordPress

WordPress is simply more popular and has a wider support/developer community.

### "Way Too Much Headache "

March 12, 2021

1.0

Always a headache. It always takes 10 times longer and is always much more expensive to develop a proper great looking website that is fast on all platforms with no bugs then the competitors such as Wix/Duda/Shopify etc.

Pros

I think the biggest pro for Wordpress is the flexibility it offers. You can do just about anything you want with it however, thats where the pro's stop for me.

Cons

Just about everything is a con for me with Wordpress. I will add the caveat that I am not a professional Wordpress developer or anything like that however I have been designing websites for over 15 years now and have worked on everything from Wix to Duda to Shopify to Squarespace etc. and Wordpress is by far the most complicated, most difficult, has the most bugs, and is just overall cumbersome to use. I work with professional web developers who use Wordpress and the process always takes 10 times longer and the results are never as good as if we use something like Duda or Wix. Also the speeds are never as good as those sites either and take much more labor (thus more expense) to make a Wordpress site optimized.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)[Squarespace](https://www.capterra.com/p/143461/Squarespace/)[Duda](https://www.capterra.com/p/134280/DudaMobile/)[Shopify](https://www.capterra.com/p/83891/Shopify/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

The only reason I used Wordpress over any of the other website builders is because clients already had a website with Wordpress and needed help fixing it/updating it or the client had needs that no other platform could support. I try to avoid Wordpress at all costs.

### "One of the best and vesatile content management system in the market."

June 24, 2020

5.0

My overall experience with WordPress was satisfying. I could launch an eCommerce website with in a week including payment gateway approval and integration.

Pros

WordPress is can be easily installed and maintained according to our purpose (e-commerce, event management, or a simple blogging site). It has got a broad developer community backing them to publish plugins for various additional features like SEO, online payments, live chats, security monitoring etc to name a few. A person with a little or even no knowledge about programming can even create a website within hours. Almost all popular payment gateways has got their plugins that can be integrated with our website, if you are planning to include some king of payments in your website. Thousands of themes and templates are also available to install including free themes. It's mobile application is also available in both iOS and Android in which we can monitor, upload or edit our contents on the go. Admin panel is very customizable and we can distribute various roles to our team members. There are so many features and plugins available to purchase for some additional features. Overall good experience with WordPress.

Cons

Many security analysts and penetration testers has warned me before using WordPress. There are some vulnerabilities, but those happens mostly when you install WordPress plugins from sources which are not trusted. I suggest you to always install plugins from a trusted source and after reading the reviews. Try to avoid free plugins and trial versions. Make a purchase or subscription if you find a plugin that matches you need. This is good for the healthy working of your website.

### "Wordpress not only your blog"

October 26, 2021

5.0

I used wordpress both to create websites and landing pages and as a CMS. The publishing features are excellent, immediate and simple to explain and use even for non-experts. In general, it is a software that allows even the less experienced to approach the digital world and understand how it works and its potential.

Pros

The main feature of wordpress is its ease of use and the almost infinite possibilities of customization and set up.

Cons

It is not always clear which plugin is the right one for your template or site.

### "Quick and easy way to make a website! "

May 4, 2018

4.0

Pros

This is a great way to create a website that looks sleek and professional, and you have a lot of flexibility when it comes to customization. You can use themes that others have created and have that be your site, or you can customize an existing theme to create a site that is unique and brand-new. It's pretty intuitive, and there's tons of advice online if you get stuck. Great place to start if you've never designed a website before, as there's lots of support and you'll learn a ton!

Cons

It can be a little confusing to navigate the back-end, but as I said, the forums/online help are very useful. Sometimes it can be annoying that so many of the decent-looking themes are ones you need to pay for, but if you're already paying for the site, it's not that much of an additional cost.

### "Probably the most essential software I use in my business. "

November 19, 2020

5.0

I've built well over a hundred websites with Wordpress. I began using it when it was just for bloggers and have continued to use it as it's evolved into a full-website development tool. It's extremely easy to get started and there are a number of third-party themes and plugins available along with many paid options that allow more customization or functions to a website. It's been my go-to web development tool for years and it's constantly improving.

Pros

I like that I can get the core foundation of a website up in five minutes and get a decent brochure site up and running in an afternoon. Because it's open source, there are tons of plugins, many of them free, that will allow me to customize a site for whatever purpose a client needs. The fact that Wordpress is free is a big plus.

Cons

One of my biggest challenges with Wordpress was keeping plugins updated but that's been resolved with recent updates.

### "Move up to the Next Level with Wordpress CMS"

March 15, 2019

5.0

WordPress has truly taken my business to the next level. I used to work with other great CMS or web builders like Joomla! and Drupal so I know the ins and outs of at least 3 major platforms and WordPress is definitely the one that takes the gold medal when it comes to ease of use on all fronts, not just installing plugins and themes.

Pros

I am still impressed a lot of people don't seem to know about this CMS or web builders despite WordPress being "out there" for so many years. WordPress IS one of those CMS you can pretty much do ANYTHING with if you know what you are doing and that's what I like about it the most: flexibility.

Cons

There are 2 main WordPress versions: pre-installed (WordPress.org) and done for you (WordPress.com). The pre-installed WordPress version, with all its might and ease of use, isn't for everyone. Amazing as it sounds, WordPress is so open and accessible that it could unfortunately become rather unusable due to how easy it is to install plugins and themes within minutes. This is a USER problem not knowing how to properly maintain a platform, not a WordPress issue, but at the end I think WordPress has sort of solved this issue by providing the done for you version which is 20 times better for non-technical users.

### "Wordpress has made a name for itself but it's not as easy as they say"

May 28, 2019

5.0

Wordpress is great, it allows you to create a very dynamic website that's quick to setup and very functional. That being said, it's not EASY or FAST. You have to spend a lot of time learning how to use the tools and understanding how to maintain the site. This is not SquareSpace or Wix, Wordpress has very good customization features and therefore, it's more useful. But you must understand what you're getting yourself into. It's also able to be hacked very easily, so you have to constantly be sure to update your sites and watch it for malicious infections.

Pros

You can quickly setup a website and the tools out there are very powerful to customize the site just how you want it. The openness of the platform allows for a lot of good developers to create very useful tools to take your site to the next level. It's also very compatible with a lot of hosting companies and server setups.

Cons

It's almost too flexible, which opens it up to a lot of vulnerability. I've deployed over 20 wordpress sites and they are constantly being hacked or broken into. I think also that like android phones, since there is no approval process for plugins or themes, that difficult or broken code can be put into your wordpress site, and that ends up giving wordpress a bad name.

### "Easy and Scalable CMS That's Easy To Get Up and Running"

July 1, 2018

5.0

Pros

Setting up a basic blog or website that you or your team can keep regularly updated is very easy. Whether you need to enhance your site's security, SEO, social media marketing reach, or filter out spam, there are a nearly infinite number of related plugins available (many free!) that will help you do the job. Aditionally, since WP is the #1 CMS platform, finding tutorials or online help is no problem at all should you encounter a problem. Even better, should you decide down the road to delegate or outsource your content creation, Wordpress' ubiquity makes it easy to find people who are already comfortable with the service, so you can comfortably hand over the reins to guest posters, interns, or an outside agency.

Cons

Although Wordpress does offer website hosting, other outside hosts usually offer the option to use more modern and robust themes and plugins than those available via WP itself. (Including more professional and scalable themes from StudioPress.) We have always had our WP CMS sites hosted outside of the Wordpress hosting ecosystem as we have found it to be more a feature rich choice.

### "Sweet Spot between Form and Function"

August 23, 2020

4.0

I play the roles of admin, developer, editor in WordPress for many years. The product has evolved significantly over the years. However, the changes have never been so drastic to mandate massive retraining. For a website of average complexity, I have no hesitation to recommend WordPress. Its ease of use has truly democratized content creation.

Pros

WordPress’s ecosystem, specifically its support of plugins and themes, bars none. There are a few other platforms that may beat WordPress in certain dimensions. If the goal is to launch a website that is both responsive and extensible in a hurry, WordPress remains the king.

Cons

Its navigation is still a little cumbersome. It is not uncommon to have 5-6 WordPress browser windows anytime you are trying to be productive in WordPress. For few years, I was able to draft content in Google Docs and then publish to WordPress using a plugin. A recent release seems to have broken that plugin. Content creation experience within WordPress should not be strictly be considered a selling point.

Overall, I love this platform and don't see us switching anytime soon.

Pros

I like WordPress a lot, there are few (if any) other competitors that I would consider over it. Due to its widespread usage, all of our clients are currently on WordPress (aside from the eCommerce division of our clientele which use Shopify).

Cons

### "Jack of all trades master of none"

February 14, 2020

3.0

I was using this platform for sometime but switched to platform more specific to the project in hand.

Pros

First of all, Wordpress has been around for sometime now and what started as a blogging platform has become a multi functional CMS with tons of features, themes, plugins and more. Its theme directory and plugin repertoire are one of the biggest for a CMS out there.

Cons

But..., with growth comes pain. The lack of quality and abandonment of these directories while being one the most popular platform out there makes for a security and update nightmare. Yes, WP is a Jack of all trades but because it is not focused on anything it is not master of none and this means that the quality is all over the place. Plugins are not exception, the quality and the common practice is to play with the Freemium trend.

### "Good for almost anyone wanting a website or blog"

December 10, 2019

5.0

Most users I train find it easy to be able to manage content once they get up to speed and the learning curve is not great at all. On the development side, the community is great and the software is more than capable of letting you design and build anything you can come up with.

Pros

I love how easy WordPress is to use! Beyond ease of use, I like that it gives me a very capable CMS for free that I can completely customize on the front end to achieve any look and feel I want beyond the standard templates that are available.

Cons

What I like least about WordPress is what other people think of it, and that usually comes from ignorance. Many people think you can only use it for a blog, or that you can only get it to look like every other WordPress site out there. that couldn't be farther from the truth. If you can create a look and feel using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript you can make it look like anything you want.
