### "Sweet Spot between Form and Function"

August 23, 2020

4.0

I play the roles of admin, developer, editor in WordPress for many years. The product has evolved significantly over the years. However, the changes have never been so drastic to mandate massive retraining. For a website of average complexity, I have no hesitation to recommend WordPress. Its ease of use has truly democratized content creation.

Pros

WordPress’s ecosystem, specifically its support of plugins and themes, bars none. There are a few other platforms that may beat WordPress in certain dimensions. If the goal is to launch a website that is both responsive and extensible in a hurry, WordPress remains the king.

Cons

Its navigation is still a little cumbersome. It is not uncommon to have 5-6 WordPress browser windows anytime you are trying to be productive in WordPress. For few years, I was able to draft content in Google Docs and then publish to WordPress using a plugin. A recent release seems to have broken that plugin. Content creation experience within WordPress should not be strictly be considered a selling point.

Reason for choosing WordPress

### "Solid across the board"

October 20, 2022

5.0

Overall, I love this platform and don't see us switching anytime soon.

Pros

I like WordPress a lot, there are few (if any) other competitors that I would consider over it. Due to its widespread usage, all of our clients are currently on WordPress (aside from the eCommerce division of our clientele which use Shopify).

Cons

I wish WordPress didn't require as many plugins to perform some basic features. If they take inspiration from existing plugins in future updates this would greatly enhance the experience and keep site speeds up.

### "Jack of all trades master of none"

February 14, 2020

3.0

I was using this platform for sometime but switched to platform more specific to the project in hand.

Pros

First of all, Wordpress has been around for sometime now and what started as a blogging platform has become a multi functional CMS with tons of features, themes, plugins and more. Its theme directory and plugin repertoire are one of the biggest for a CMS out there.

Cons

But..., with growth comes pain. The lack of quality and abandonment of these directories while being one the most popular platform out there makes for a security and update nightmare. Yes, WP is a Jack of all trades but because it is not focused on anything it is not master of none and this means that the quality is all over the place. Plugins are not exception, the quality and the common practice is to play with the Freemium trend.

### "Good for almost anyone wanting a website or blog"

December 10, 2019

5.0

Most users I train find it easy to be able to manage content once they get up to speed and the learning curve is not great at all. On the development side, the community is great and the software is more than capable of letting you design and build anything you can come up with.

Pros

I love how easy WordPress is to use! Beyond ease of use, I like that it gives me a very capable CMS for free that I can completely customize on the front end to achieve any look and feel I want beyond the standard templates that are available.

Cons

What I like least about WordPress is what other people think of it, and that usually comes from ignorance. Many people think you can only use it for a blog, or that you can only get it to look like every other WordPress site out there. that couldn't be farther from the truth. If you can create a look and feel using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript you can make it look like anything you want.

Drupal has a much higher learning curve. It is very powerful software but is best suited for expert users.

### "wordpress a tool like no other"

April 9, 2019

4.0

My experience in general has been very satisfactory, we made our website with wordpress and the truth was very funny and we could learn a lot from this process, wordpress offered us everything we needed and the themes that are free are extremely great.

Pros

Wordpress is a tool that has helped us a lot in recent times, we have now made our website based on wordpress and it has been a totally innovative experience since we have been able to create our website easily without the need of a programmer, we have been able to create it to our liking with the wordpress page editing features, on the other hand wordpress is difficult to handle at the beginning but after a while it becomes really intuitive and easy to use To develop the website we could find in wordpress millions of free and professional themes that we added to our web page, in this way you can have a page in minutes, and the amount of free plugins and features in wordpress are incredible.

Cons

I would like it to be a little easier to use at the beginning since many users get lost when they have to register and later they should see tutorials on YouTube to understand how wordpress is handled, they could make the interface a little more friendly for new users.

### "Fantastic platform for personal brand or business"

November 8, 2018

5.0

Overall, I love Wordpress and recommend it to anyone looking to create an online prescence.

Pros

Super easy to set up, Wordpress is my go-to platform for building businesses and personal brands online. I have 4 different business/brand sites I have created, all using Wordpress. What's really great is the number of plug-ins that extend Wordpress to do almost anything you need it to do!

Cons

Choose your hosting provider wisely...as the performance and stability of your site will vary based on the host you choose. Also, you need to be careful with using plug-ins that aren't highly tested or popular, as they can impair website performance and create issues. That said, if you stick with popular plug-ins that are verified and tested to work with the latest Wordpress installations, you won't have an issue.

### "My favorite tool for creating websites"

October 29, 2019

5.0

I love it. As a non-coder, but at the same time, a person who deals with websites a lot, I like WordPress because it allows me to meet the needs in terms of marketing.

Pros

I have been working with WordPress for years now. My own personal blog is over 10 years old. I love WordPress for its ultimate versatility and user-friendliness. I've created several sites for various companies using WordPress.org and it has been super-easy to maintain them. I have used both WordPress.com and WordPress.org, and they are both great (I do prefer the .org one since it gives the opportunity to import custom plugins and themes). Most of the themes offer a drag-n-drop design option which is convenient for those who need a website but don't know how to code. The SEO is also great with plugins such as YOAST and others.

Cons

Sometimes when the platform version updates, you need to be careful with updating your website because it might crash. I have had that happen a few times and it was a stressful time. Thankfully I had backups. Therefore, beware of those updates - whether it's your theme, or WordPress itself, or your plugins. ALWAYS have the backup. (That's good in any case.)

The overall experience is pretty Positive and productive and the amazing part about it is the fact that you can optimize almost everything. The website looks professional .It also have different themes and template .If you looking for creating website for an startup and you don't know how to code then it's a good option for you.

Pros

Initially when i didn't know anything about web development .I created a WordPress website for saving notes ,booklets and video lectures shared in class WhatsApp group .It allows the class to access the study materials whenever they wants and the best Part is it's look cool and you don't have to code .These days I mostly used it for dumping my codes and project in my personal WordPress website so that i can access easily.Even created a WordPress blogging site for sharing my thought and knowledge .You can even customize your WordPress website with the help of code .you can even check your daily stats of visitor. Easy to plugin .User friendly application .

Cons

It's getting complicated day by day .Adding plugin can be confusing .Beginners ( non-coder) should have knowledge about hosting and domain beforehand.Sometime SEO works poorly while searching your website .

### "Every Blogger journalist needs Wordpress"

December 3, 2019

5.0

It is one of the main services that I'm using daily, and it never failed on me, not once. The only thing that I don't like about Wordpress are constant updates, but that is a good thing, for my own cybersecurity.

Pros

As a Sports journalist in my spare time, I started using WordPress for my blog page, it allowed me to stay productive and focus on content writing rather than writing HTML codes to have my website look nice. Wordpress takes care of it so you don't have to be a programmer and you can focus on your content that you are writing about.

Cons

It has great variety of themes and addons to choose, certainly you will find the one that you like, you just need to invest some time and look through them all. So the con would be that Themes and addon sections are overwhelmed with some not that important and useful addons.

### "Versatile with plenty of options!"

January 14, 2020

4.0

Wordpress is extremely easy to use in comparison to some other website softwares. You can make a basic page for a business or blog in a matter of hours and have it up and running. There are quite a few themes that it is very likely the design you want has already been created.

Pros

Wordpress offers the most options and built in plugins if you are willing to pay. With how broad the use of wordpress is there are also plenty of resources online to help you build and expand your webpage. You can edit your site and get it up and running in a matter of hours.

Cons

When you are starting out on wordpress there are features and plugins are are only available at higher priced points. Unfortunately you have to pay for the entire year so there is not much flexibility in terms of trying things out for a short period of time before committing.

### "WordPress from a Developer's Perspective"

May 18, 2020

4.0

I mostly use WordPress for the backend interface it offers non-technical (and technical) website managers. A lot of people are familiar with it. It's not difficult to add your own functionality.

Pros

WordPress is my usual choice when building a blog or brochure type of website for a client. One big reason is that a lot of non-technical users are familiar with it - so when handing the site over to the client they are already knowledgeable in the different ways to manage their site.

Cons

I think WordPress is a victim of its own success. A lot of 'web developers' who are only proficient enough to set up WordPress through their host's 'one-click install', and install a plugin for every extra piece of functionality they want - are what I think cause others to look down on WordPress. It's easy to make a garbage WordPress site.

### "WordPress is the BEST tool for creating a website"

July 25, 2019

4.0

Overall i really like WordPress i use it for my blog on which i post daily and so far i haven't had any serious problems,i'm a beginner so it was only natural for me to use WordPress as it's easy to navigate and understand when i want to add basic features to my blog.

Pros

What i like the most about WordPress is that you can build your websited on it for FREE. It's really easy to use and doesn't require any prior knowledge to use it,it's also highly customisable meaning that you can customise your website however you want. You can also choose from the templates that are available on WordPress and use them for free.

Cons

What i like the least about WordPress is it's lack of security i always get a lot of spam in my WordPress blog which is a shame,i also want to mention that WordPress is open source which makes it a main target for hackers.

Cons

### "Wordpress is industry standard"

September 7, 2018

5.0

I always recommend Wordpress when someone talks about a website. It is fairly user friendly after a brief learning curve, and the database of plugins is amazing. There are free themes and themes for purchase. Really the customization is whatever you want it to be. Not only is it user friendly, it's search engine friendly and there are plugins that allow you to optimize your site for search engines (SEO) and integrate your social media right into your site. It's really the industry standard.

Pros

Wordpress has a ton of functionality in terms of building and maintaining websites. While they do offer solutions for ecommerce, I wouldn't recommend it for ecommerce builds. But for small to medium size businesses and even informational sites, it's the way to go.

Cons

What is funny about Wordpress isn't even Wordpress itself, it's usually themes or plugins not playing nicely with each other.

### "Easy to use CMS for anything"

August 12, 2018

5.0

I've used this CMS for many cases, and I simply believe it's truly the best option for pretty much anything. No matter what you want to use it for, most likely it will work for you. That's why I love it so much!

Pros

It's extremely versatile. I actually use on a few of my projects - one is my portoflio, other is a shop, and the third one is a blog. It's insane that you can use Wordpress on this many different websites. Also, it has plenty of plugins, it's quite easy to use, and there are many many developers who can help you, if you need any help. All in all, if you need a CMS, most likely Wordpress will be the best choice for you.

Cons

Sometimes the plugins I download don't work. Also, sometimes it can be a bit difficult to get the support. However, considering how many people use Wordpress, I don't think it's bad at all.

### "Outstanding Flexibility"

March 14, 2018

5.0

Working with WordPress has saved so many hours of development time for our team. We are able to rapidly build websites that are easy to maintain and use for our clients. The support from the community is massive when compared to Joomla and Drupal, which has allowed a plethora of time-saving plugins and themes to be developed. This provides a variety of useful tools to solve nearly any problem that you may encounter.

Pros

Wordpress has the ability to be the foundation for projects, both large and small. It caters to developers, while still maintaining usability for those less tech savvy. The community behind the platform is constantly contributing and developing new features.

Cons

If you do not stay on top of updating WordPress and it's themes/plugins, there is the potential that your site could be vulnerable to attacks. Luckily, there are ways to mitigate these risks.

### "WordPress Works!"

January 16, 2020

4.0

We have been using WordPress for almost 10 years now. We have multiple websites that use WordPress. It truly is a fascinating website platform.

Pros

WordPress is very easy to use. It is one of the most versatile and popular website hosting platforms being used in the world today. In most cases, it can be installed on your host platform almost automatically. There are so many plugins available, you will be able to customize it to almost any situation you may have.

Cons

There are so many themes and so many plugins, you must be careful about what it is you are installing on your website. In some cases, plugins may no longer be updated by the developer. This means, when you update your theme, the old plugins no longer work. This causes ripple effect problems that are sometimes hard to figure out the root cause.

### "If Google is the king of search engines then WordPress is the king of website creation"

June 13, 2018

5.0

Pros

I was introduced to WordPress when I first started my career, with no prior knowledge of how it worked. Although it seemed a little overwhelming at first it ended up being much easier than expected; in less than a year I had already become comfortable navigating my way around the back-end of our website. WordPress has an endless number of themes, styles, and features you can modify to fit he needs of your website. It also has great band-width to handle multiple plug-ins and is suitable to handle most third-party applications. Whenever I run into a problem I can almost always find an answer from someone else who has had a similar issue online and/or seek out advice for the WordPress community forum. Because application is so prominently used today, you can also check to see if there are any MeetUp groups available to you in your area to help you find more information on how to utilize your WordPress site to its full potential.

Cons

For those who would like to start using the free version of WordPress, keep in mind that you only have 3GB storage space. Make sure that your images and file sizes are optimized before uploading them onto your website.

### "Customizable with a Learning Curve"

December 31, 2018

4.0

We recently migrated our blog from Squarespace to WordPress. While Squarespace is way easier to use, we've definitely realized a significant increase in SEO. We also use Instapage to build landing pages that can be published to Wordpress.

Pros

The beauty of WP is also the difficulty of it. There's an entire industry dedicated to customizable options. If there's something you want to do on your blog/website, you'll probably be able to find a plugin, template, builder, or theme that lets you do it. Also, in terms of out-of-the-box website solutions, if SEO is important to your site, you have to go WordPress. No one else can compete there.

Cons

It's just not easy to use. You can customize just about everything, but there's a pretty big learning curve. And it doesn't always work the way you expect it should. Also, because basically anyone can develop their own products for the platform, your back end can start feeling really hodge-podgy and overwhelming as you add 3rd party tools.

### "WordPress for Custom Website Design at Low Cost"

December 18, 2018

5.0

From personal use to business use, I've found WordPress to be the superior option among a variety of other hosts. It's a robust database and the plugin options allow for ample flexibility at a low cost.

Pros

WordPress allows for a variety of consumers, businesses, and organizations to utilize the platform to best fit their individual needs. Even for a minimal investment you can purchase a beautiful template and customize to fit your branding. For more advanced users, custom coding options and plugin adaptability make it workable for what you are trying to achieve.

Cons

It helps to have someone with a background in web design to help you at the initial creation of your site if you are a base-level user. While you can attempt to navigate it on your own, it's almost become a necessity at this point for any website launch.
