### "WordPress Core is amazing as a tool and as a Client Managed option"

February 27, 2020

5.0

My experience with WordPress has been extensive and it has for all intent and purpose, paid my bills in many ways for over a decade.

Pros

I have been a WP user since at least 2008, and since that time I have seen so many different things in the industry its hard to quantify the reasons I like this tool. There are many. From simplicity of use to the Plugin repository that houses 40k plugins....it's all there. If you need a way to build and mange almost every facet of your web presence this is the tool.

Cons

There are issues with plugins, exploits and other functionality issues that arise, and as the largest CMS out there, WP gets the most attention in these areas. Good Security habits will fix that though...at the least you can take precautions and protect your site

### "Wordpress is all I use for building Websites!"

March 2, 2021

5.0

I have used it for over 10 years for making sites for my web design business and it is all I would ever us.

Pros

Wordpress is open source so it has no cost. It has a huge userbase that I can almost always find a solution to a problem I am having. When building I can build it on a personal hosting instead of something like wix. There are so many paid and free plugins and themes that it can be used for almost any site!

Cons

Wordpress has some little quirks that take time to figure out so there is a learning curve. It may not be as easy as some of the other builder type CMS's but it is much more feature rich.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)[Joomla](https://www.capterra.com/p/161648/Joomla/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

Over Joomla as there are way more themes and plugins and joomla feels old and clunky. Wix because I can do a lot more with it and the person owns their site not wix.

### "Make An Advanced Website Without Knowing Coding Skills"

November 18, 2020

5.0

I am super happy and satisfied with wordpress features and benefits, because of this we have developed our website ourself, update on our own, edit updates on our own - it allows us to create and manage our website with saving time and cost.

Pros

I really like the most of wordpress because of its available as open source, easy to use by anyone and lots of plugin features are available by third parties.

Cons

sometimes I faced fake themes available online and they steal the data and hack websites - so Its very important to make sure everything is right and safe.

### "Creating an online store with Wordpress has never been easier"

October 7, 2021

5.0

My experience is great with Wordpress, many features and ease of use, I have to thank the Wordpress team.

Pros

I love Wordpress with it I can create my virtual store and sell my products very easily and independently, without needing a programmer.

Cons

Some error that happens in wordpress that you need to have a notion of computer science and basic programming to solve, nothing that prevents you from growing virtually.

### "Fills a need but not my fav"

October 20, 2022

4.0

We switched to the Wordpress platform with the promise of simplifying our backend. In order to get the new site to do everything we needed it to we had to add so many plugins and third party solutions that I. The end it was more expensive and more complicated l. If we could have kept it simple, it could have been great

Pros

It can simplify things for you versus building from scratch. But the more complicated your site needs to be the more limited you will find it. your success really hinges on picking the right plugins.

Cons

To many plugins can conflict with each other and cause trouble if you don’t really know what your doing so be careful. Also some plugins can be buggy and insecure. Just keep it simple.

### "Wordpress is the platform for the modern content delivery"

February 1, 2019

3.0

Positive, when the foundational Wordpress installation is managed by a cloud provider such as GoDaddy or Bluehost.

Pros

Over the years the software package has evolved from being a platform to design the delivery of the individual sites (i.e. individual site builders), to be the platform for the software vendors to deliver application solutions (i.e. shopping sites, photography galleries, blogger platforms etc). In plain english, from being the solution to being the foundation of the solution, a LEGO of the modern online presence. The hosting standard.

Cons

The general complexity of the solution combined with ancient programming language (PHP) results in increased cyber security risk profile. I would be vary to use the solution beyond a small size enterprise.

### "Not Just for Blogging"

April 24, 2019

4.0

I've used WordPress for almost 10 years. I started blogging as a way to keep my skills fresh as a freelance social media manager, and have used it ever since. I've built and managed many websites for clients using WordPress.

Pros

I've used WordPress for many client projects and for my own websites. It's great because you can build so many different kinds of websites. It's super flexible and easy to customize with loads of templates for everything from mom bloggers to magazines, portfolios, ecommerce and more. It pretty much handles basic SEO for you and there are a few plugins that will help the user take care of more advanced tasks/functions. Updates to the software and plugins is as easy as clicking a button, but I usually wait a few days to make sure the bugs are worked out first.

Cons

Updates to software and plugins can sometimes be a bit buggy. I think this is mostly because the plugins are almost all 3rd party developers. The support forums could use an update to make them more user-friendly. I'm not super crazy about the big Gutenberg update but I am a very long-time user, so I was very used to the old layout. If you are new to WP it won't be a big deal.

### "Best plugins and hands down the best customer service"

March 5, 2019

5.0

Pros

95% of all web builds we do are done on WordPress. This platform is easy to use and has some of the best plugins for everything from analytics, backup, development to SEO, posting and payments. There is a tool to help any business owner run their new site. WordPress customer support is beyond stellar, I have come to rely on their chat feature for fast and reliable support. They have never let me down or left a question unanswered.

Cons

Plugin testing should be expanded by WordPress. They do test a lot of plugins but there are some very popular plugins that aren't well vetted and I have had some serious problems arise. For the most part, I will rely on reviews of untested plugins and that alleviates the potential for problems.

### "One of the Best Content Management Systems "

December 6, 2018

5.0

I develope and design only with WordPress. It makes the entire process easy for us and our clients to manage content.

Pros

The software is easy to install and build your content. The easy to add plugin features allows you to create a sophisticated site with minimal knowledge. The interface allows non-technical users to build links, change styles and add features simply. The design is separate from the content so changing design while keeping the structure and content can be done with less work when redesigning. As a non-technical content manager, it is very easy to use.

Cons

You need to stay on top of plugins to insure they are updated in a timely manner. Becuase it is so popular there are some security risks but with some work they can be eliminated.

### "Easiest Software For Blogs"

April 28, 2019

4.0

Overall, Wordpress remains the easiest software for starting a blog or a website and a lot of companies still use it even when they get big.

Pros

Wordpress makes it really easy to get started with a blog. Their various plug ins make it fast and easy to set your blog up with the proper tracking and do all the usually technically intense tasks with just a few clicks. There are always new features and anybody can make their website look professional. The usability of the backend is very intuitive and there are so many guides online that you can figure out how to make your website better in minutes.

Cons

Too many plugins can make your website very slow, so you have to be selective about what you enable. You always need to promptly update both the Wordpress software and your plugins when an upgrade is available, otherwise you are prone to being hacked. Enabling comments in the very beginning before you have a lot of content also welcomes so many span comments trying to sell you services or getting you to clock on links that will likely give your computer viruses, so you have to be very vigilant about them.

### "Best CMS for Beginners "

November 8, 2018

4.0

I can't say I am completely satisfied with it but I can't complain much as it is an open source. customizations and modifications are very easy and can be done on the go. provides lots of inbuilt themes for your websites or blogs. WordPress has helped me develop my blog without a need of a developer or designers. but in order to manage the backend of your website you might need one. All in all i would definately recommend wordpress for any beginner or who has a budget constraint.

Pros

I am a blogger and I started my first blog with WordPress due to financial constraints and ease of use since then its been 4 years for my blog now I haven't switched from WordPress. It's very convenient and cost effective once you get used to it but very complicated if you use too many themes and plugins most of them are free by the way or beta versions. It's like the android play store you name any plugin and you have it. customizations are very feasible even for a noob like me.

Cons

very complicated but once u get a hold of it it's feasible. security is a major concern as you use lots of third-party apps from unknown developers. The user interface can be improved it has been the same since ages.

### "The Best Platform for Blogs and Business Websites"

January 30, 2019

5.0

Overall, I recommend WordPress as the website platform for every client. It is free, secure, reliable, and robust.

Pros

WordPress has a learning curve, but once you have your website set-up, adding pages or blog posts to your website is relatively easy. If you can use a Microsoft Word, you can use WordPress. It also has an impressive number of functions, especially with the use of free plugins.

Cons

They are changing their dashboard to a new system currently, and the transition isn't necessarily super intuitive. It's okay. However, I do think, it is an update that people weren't really requesting. So far, they are not making people update so you can still use the old dashboard (which is significantly different). But I know they will not support it forever.

### "The industry leader = biggest target for script kiddies"

August 8, 2018

3.0

With a diligent admin and some third-party tools to improve the security of WordPress, a site can be successfully operated with less risk. But you really have to be on top of your game to avoid security pitfalls that come with such a high profile Content Management System.

Pros

It is super easy to use. You can build a site in just a few minutes with off the shelf free templates, easy to use controls, and tons of add-ons. All of this makes Wordpress and amazingly powerful tool.

Cons

With the power comes some trouble. Wordpress sites are targeted by script kiddies, bots, etc. They are high value targets because they have well documented vulnerabilities and a large install footprint. So, hacking many WordPress sites is simply a matter of scanning websites and running automated scripts to attack.

### "WordPress Powers the Web"

December 24, 2018

5.0

WordPress powers every site I’ve built and maintained for the past ten years. It’s easy to use, the use of themes means I can easily give it a new look. Anyone from my company with just a tiny bit of training can learn to write blogs or edit pages. Plugins make the world go round. All in all, WordPress has made having a good presencenon the web so much easier.

Pros

I love the ease of use and the open source nature of WordPress. Back in the early days of the web, like everyone else, I would hardcode my sites. When I discovered WordPress, my job got both easier and more fun. The ability to overlay templates, customize easily, and to have other departments in there able to make changes to their section of the site is amazing.

Cons

I do wish the dashboard was a bit more engaging. Beyond that, I would change nothing.

### "Wordpress is great if you know what you're doing"

October 16, 2018

5.0

Wordpress is a great tool for creating websites as fast as Facebook Pages

Pros

I really love Wordpress. Work with it every day. After some time stumbling on it to make my websites, now I can create a website as fast a Facebook Page would be done. The open source community is great and helps you a lot with the daily challenges. Also, its incredible to see how many plugins and themes are out there, ready to be used. Most of them are free, but the paid ones are also incredible to check out. Don't forget that Wordpress is open source, so you can use it, sell it and have it however you want to.

Cons

We have to admit that is not for everyone. That are several other companies making great things that make you have less effort to achieve great results.

### "Number 1 Content Management System"

January 9, 2019

5.0

For me it is main tool when creating websites for my own needs or for clients that need a website as fast as possible.

Pros

\- The most popular CMS on the internet, what makes it easy to find information on modifications and tutorials. - Very flexible thanks to huge selection of plugins. - Great documentation both for users and developers. - Just install (or register on .com version) and you are ready for blogging. - A huge selection of free themes. - You can use it as framework for your app if you are a developer.

Cons

\- Slightly to difficult to use for users without experience with content management systems. - It is the most popular CMS so it is the most attacked CMS, remember to make it more secure with proper passwords and third-party security plugins.

### "Best open source option for your content."

October 19, 2018

5.0

My free Wordpress was quick and easy to setup with minimum fuss and focusses on movie reviews. If you are a novice and don't worry much about the extra strings that make WordPress less attractive, take my work - GO FOR IT!!!

Pros

Don't look any further than WordPress if you want to establish your web presence and publish your content regularly. WordPress is Open source, easy, affordable and help you to organize your content even if you are stuck without proper website building knowledge. Free and paid version of Plugins are available that will help you customize and enhance any wordpress site. You can actually make your own WordPress site very attractive, get more traffic by selecting a proper theme that suits the content. very easy to setup account and get it running.

Cons

WordPress is vulnerable, it can be hacked. Installing the necessary updates and customizing the website can be nuisance. Also customization options can be bit pricey. A WordPress expert is adviced to understand your needs and tell you the best options available. Plugins can actually make the website go slow and also open up gaps in security.

### "A Good Website Tool"

April 17, 2020

4.0

I have used them since a web design class in college to create my portfolio. I can easily change my content around to go from being a portfolio to advertising my Graphic Design business. All I have to do is toggle some switches and page on and off. I will never use another software for this.

Pros

I use WordPress to power my personal portfolio. When I first started to use it I was overwhelmed. But as I dug in and saw all that I could do, I found that it wasn't too hard to navigate. I downloaded a theme, and started to edit it as I wanted it to look like. Now, updating isn't a problem. I can add pages, add links to other sites I want my visitors to see, and I can change out content in a snap. Whenever I update my resume, I can get in there quickly and make the change. You also don't need coding experience so that is a plus!

Cons

This can be overwhelming for new users that don't have experience with web design products. I wish there were a better way to set up or rename/organize the tools. If there were a way for me to only see what I work with daily and to rename items so I knew what they were better, I think it would be easier to use. For example, When I am going to update my pages, sometimes it takes me a little bit to find where they are. I update those about 75% of the time, so if I could have a quick tool that takes me right to that area, it would help me immensely.

### "Everybody can have a good-looking website today"

December 13, 2018

5.0

I use Wordpress for a non-profit organization's website and it helped us a lot. We made it multilingual and it had to look great. While I would not have been able to guarantee that I could meet the requirements by coding it myself at the time, Wordpress made it possible and also helped us through addons with GDPR-warnings.

Pros

First of all Wordpress is easy to use. You can easily create pages, posts and add media. You have many plugins which you can install - either with Wordpress Paid Hosting or self-hosted on a server space - and you can use available or self-made themes. Many popular websites today use Wordpress and show what is possible. If you just spend an hour or two you can learn how to use Wordpress even if you never coded anything. Due to the stack used in Wordpress it can be installed on every server.

Cons

It depends on the version you use, but if you use the hosting offered by Wordpress itself you can't always install addons to make your page better. But so far Wordpress is almost perfect. Just from time to time the navigation could be better or there could be a reference to better explanations especially for non-tech-people.

### "Easiest way to build your website"

May 7, 2019

4.0

It is easy to make your website from scratch, just choose the one of the many lovely templates out there. It is also secured as it has weekly security patches.

Pros

I love how easy it is to setup WordPress, you don’t need to have any knowledge of HTML or web design, you can basically drag and drop buttons and pages to make a website to your liking. The best thing about WordPress is that it is completely free. There is a lot of templates to download at marketplace as well as tons of different addons that can enrich your website with new features such as live support chat, picture sliders and landing pages.

Cons

The only bad thing about WordPress would be overwhelmed market place with millions of useless addons making it harder to find the one you are looking for.

### "Customizable, Well-Supported Platform"

December 17, 2018

5.0

I primarily use Wordpress to manage and deploy different blog / social posts. I have used it to help build/deploy different company and professional websites. Integrations and widgets are extensively available. The pricepoint is reasonable for personal use, and for corporate use.

Pros

Wordpress is highly customizable, with well-supported (from wordpress and through the community) documentation on implementing different templates and capabilities. It is reliable, stable, and consistent. Deployment happens on-time, and WordPress has great up-time.

Cons

While Wordpress itself is well-supported, many of its widgets/plugins/associated packages (which rely on a third-party developer) can be tricky: integrations sometimes don't work correctly, and finding workarounds or solutions can be tough.

\- Tons of features, plugins, and great community - Excellent support and constantly updated - Flexible enough for pros, simple enough for newbies and amateurs - Drag and drop template builders such as Avada and Divi make it easy to build landing pages - WooCommerce is an excellent eCommerce solution with tons of options and plugins - Tons of resources online to learn, modify, and build powerful websites - Integrates with many solutions

Cons

\- Adding unstable plugins or poorly supported plugins can wreak havoc on your site (see: Ultimate Member fiasco) - Too many plugins and strange caching architecture can cause site performance issues - Requires a decent amount of maintenance - Easy to learn, tough to master
